0:00 welcome to the Fallout build log it was
0:03 said to not be possible to fit a computer into the bomb that comes with
0:08 the Fallout Anthology but with determination and a really good 3D
0:12 printer we're going to make it
0:22 work the master case 5 by Cooler Master gives you the freedom to truly make your
0:26 midtower PC case your own with a variety of modular parts and accessories check
0:31 out the link in the video description down below to learn more all right so
0:35 this isn't a normal build log as you can probably tell this isn't a normal case
0:40 uh with a normal case you can check what it's compatible with and just order
0:44 things that it's compatible with and put them in and everything's fine this is
0:47 obviously not naturally compatible with anything so there had to be some
0:51 feasibility testing I've already kind of planned out the parts I've got a Maximus
0:55 impact 8 I've got a tiny little sfx power supply from Silverstone this is a
0:59 300 WT trying to get a 450 more about that later I've got an R9 Fury Nano I
1:05 have some lowprofile Vengeance lpx I've
1:08 got an SSD uh Riser cable we'll talk
1:11 about that stuff later I've done some planning but one problem is part of that
1:16 planning involved being like well damn this thing is definitely too small if
1:20 you look at it the usable space is Tiny
1:24 it's not that big and a lot of its curves which are not that usable for
1:29 computer parts which are very much boxy so it needed to be extended I worked
1:35 with Taran and we 3D modeled some stuff so we did some test things first
1:40 surprisingly and awesomely Tan's first one actually fit quite well we did some
1:45 minor changes to the fit and added some fitting tabs for These Foo screws that
1:49 are on the side also worked quite well so we moved on to the jumbo the big guy
1:55 this one actually makes it tall enough that I can fit all of my stuff
2:00 now when looking at this it maybe doesn't look the greatest you might be
2:05 like but Luke it's lime green the rest
2:09 of it's not it's okay we'll get more to that
2:12 later I'm going to try to get some colorcoded spray bombs which actually
2:16 like match the green and the brown speckle that's already on here so we'll
2:21 we'll touch up the aesthetic there but for the rest of the build there's some
2:25 plans but not all of them is planned and you guys are going to have to come along
2:28 with me for that so with this build there has to be a
2:31 balance between badassery and functionality and one of the most
2:35 important things in my opinion with this build to do with badassery is this
2:40 button when you press this button right
2:46 now awesome super FY that's great but I
2:50 want this button to also turn on the computer I could have hooked it in and
2:54 parallel onto the power switchy thing using this and stuff but there's some
2:58 voltage problems or something I'm not super great with electronics so I'm
3:01 going to solder in another switch how this thing works is it's a big plate
3:06 that presses down onto another plate which has a button mounted in it so what
3:11 I'm going to try to do is add another button so that this plate press down
3:14 actually presses two buttons now I don't actually have another one of these spare
3:18 switches that's where
3:22 this hunk of junk comes in so this guy
3:27 up at the top I found has
3:30 very usable little tiny switch so I'm
3:34 going to drill the rivets out rip this
3:37 thing out separate it from these wires cut that
3:40 off tear it out mount it into that plate
3:44 solder it into the thing and then hopefully it
3:48 works I might just break it oh yes I
3:52 will just break it so it's actually just this module right here that I need
4:02 it's okay you're probably editing
4:07 this okay I think that opened it up for
4:10 me there we
4:14 go well I'm salvaging this computer case
4:17 I'm ripping out its switch and I'm using it for something else so if that's not
4:21 Fallout I don't know what it is I just need two of the wires and I only need
4:26 the ones that go to the actual switch itself one thing that's really cool that
4:30 I got for this build is this tiny little lowprofile SATA cable although the SATA
4:35 connections on this board are right next to the RAM so it's kind of a problem but
4:39 if I put it in the bottom slot down here
4:44 and just kind of work the cable around the bottom of the RAM but above the PCI
4:49 Express slot I can kind of make it come out just fine so this will work for my
4:57 SSD okay so I'm just testing to make sure that the system actually works so
5:01 this is the mess of components that I have to get inside of the
5:05 bomb we got post code nope there we go okay so I don't have a keyboard or
5:09 anything installed but as you guys can see on the monitor honestly that's good
5:14 enough the system works so moving on I need to turn this off then I need to
5:20 wrap um my switches things around these
5:25 poles maybe I can't wrap it around can I
5:28 get a Helper go hey
5:33 hey okay so now I need to solder this in
5:36 place so it's not just held by me thank you helper Colton you can go back to
5:40 doing whatever you're doing and we're good to go theoretically it works so now
5:45 as long as I don't massively screw up everything by my terrible soldering job
5:51 we're
5:54 good okay so my horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible soldering job
5:59 is done going to turn the power supply on doesn't automatically turn on that's
6:04 a good thing press the button yes okay the button works I need
6:09 to find a way to mount this little box on the plastic plate that is already in
6:14 there and already has one switch need to add another one God I'm happy that
6:19 worked this one has a lot more travel time than this one does this one's a
6:23 very shallow press also the button
6:26 swivels on a fix point on the bottom I would like to mount this as high as
6:31 possible but there's stuff blocking a
6:34 tall mount in here the ideal location is where this random kind of plus symbol
6:39 post is so I'm going to have to try to remove that and then drill through it
6:42 and see if I can mount something right
6:46 there might not want to show that it's
6:50 like not a proper way to use a drill just so Taran knows I'm just going to
6:55 hold my switch in the hole that I cut
6:59 for it this represents if I like hot glued it
7:02 in or something
7:09 okay that did not
7:17 work so it it works if you press like super deep I need to make the hole
7:22 bigger there is not that much time between now and when Fallout 4 comes out
7:28 if anything goes wrong I'm screwed and I'm doing a lot of things in this Build
7:32 That Could completely screw the entire build
7:37 over I hope this switch
7:43 works all right guys we're back in the office now one of the problems with
7:46 painting this is that the surface is very different than the surface of the
7:50 bomb the surface of the bomb is super smooth this guy has flat walls because
7:55 it's a 3D printer and it was printing kind of with some flat walls so I need
7:59 to sand that down so it's a little bit more smooth this is going to take a little while so super speed time lapse
8:08 engage I'm just going to tie a shirt on my
8:14 face okay so it's largely sanded down
8:17 this is filler primer so hopefully that will help kind of fill in some of the
8:21 grooves that are still existing and we can get going one of the problems is is
8:26 that the clearances on these things
8:30 are actually pretty tight so I'm going to try to tape them off and then we'll
8:35 be good to start spraying I've never
8:39 spray primered anything
8:42 before let's hope I don't super suck that would be a huge waste of
8:58 time wa what do you think any
9:10 problems that's a lot smoother I can already tell so we're going to bring
9:14 this into dry again then we might do it one more time so through the combined efforts of
9:20 my triangle file and my large flat file
9:23 I was able to open up that circular hole that I had drilled and make a square
9:28 hole and the switch fit through I need to secure it got some hot glue that
9:32 should be fine but there's one problem that remains it has to be so far out
9:37 that I can't actually slide it in because it will interfere with the rim
9:42 of the bomb so I have to actually take it
9:45 out and then put the switch plate back
9:49 in all the way and then fit it in why
9:52 this is a problem is I have to hot glue it in a
9:57 position that I can't can't take it out
10:01 and that sucks that's super sketchy but anyways let's give it a
10:04 shot don't touch it oh yeah that's
10:08 drives pretty fast though thankfully okay so everything's put
10:13 together if it doesn't work I'm going to pull my freaking hair out let's try
10:21 it it made the noise the computer turned on we're good to go moving on to other
10:27 things
10:34 all right guys this is primer coat number three it's starting to come along
10:39 um we might do one or two
10:52 more another problem to be solved the
10:55 power supply of this rig will be going into the top of the bomb up here I need
11:00 you to be able to plug into it into the bottom of the bomb so I need to create
11:04 an extension so I needed a right angle connector with a favorable Inlet so what
11:08 I did was I grabbed a right angle cable and I cut it in half without the camera
11:12 being turned on and then the plan is to strip off the end of this splice out the
11:17 wires solder the wires into this guy Mount this guy into the bottom of the
11:20 case plug this into the power supply and voila so here we
11:27 go okay so connection one is done just
11:30 like my other jobs little sloppy but it'll
11:35 do wow that one was like probably my best one okay so I've electrical taped
11:40 up my little thingy that I soldered together here so hopefully that looks
11:45 better for one and hopefully it works that's what we're going to test
11:49 now and with a whole lot of
11:55 Hope and it works
12:01 I was a little worried about that
12:05 okay okay okay okay moving on all
12:10 right all right this is our fourth and final coat of primer then we have to do
12:15 a layer of
12:24 black so I spray painted a bug onto the primer
12:34 okay so it's all primed we're ready to start painting um as with basically
12:39 everything else in this project I have no idea what I'm doing um but we're
12:43 going to start with black so this guy is black I believe lonus does know what
12:48 he's doing when it comes to the paint stuff but and he was supposed to show me
12:53 but he had to leave important business of some sort or something or other
12:58 whatever uh um so yeah he's not here so
13:01 we're just going to wing
13:07 it that's probably way more black paint than I
13:12 need but as I have no idea we're going to go with
13:19 that now lus said to roll down on this
13:24 thing towards the paint after dipping it in the paint for 2 minutes um um but I'm
13:29 kind of assuming that he was exaggerating a little bit cuz he thought
13:33 I wouldn't actually do it I'm just going to go for like a
13:44 while okay you have to look at this so I
13:48 just shoved two Ryobi batteries inside
13:51 of the thing so that it wouldn't move when I press paint on it and they
13:55 fit perfectly
14:01 so I think the 2 minutes of squeezing the paint out of it was a huge
14:11 exaggeration oh my God why is this so
14:14 bad and what is that
14:20 pattern when you take all the paint out of the brush you need a lot of pressure
14:24 behind it apparently so that's why it didn't work right away
14:31 Logitech has been in the headphone game for a really long time and it shows with
14:35 the g633 emis Spectrum headset the g633
14:39 is equipped with logitech's 40 mm proog audio drivers 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound
14:44 with Logitech gaming software a cardioid boom mic which hides away very nicely
14:49 actually fully adjustable RGB lighting and custom tags they're available from a
14:53 variety of retailers now including Amazon will be a great holiday gift for
14:57 your PC Xbox or PS4 Gamers or just a
15:00 great pick up for yourself if you're looking for a new headset check them out in the link in the video description
15:04 down below okay so our first coat of black is
15:09 done honestly it looks pretty okay there's definitely definitely areas
15:14 where it needs more paint so we will definitely definitely have to do another
15:18 coat but for now we're going to let it dry so I'm going to take it inside so
15:22 there's a little bit of a warmer climate at this time of night in the unheated
15:26 Warehouse it's like borderline too cold
15:29 to even be painting so I need to take it into the office so that it can actually
15:33 kind of warm up so that it can
15:39 dry okay
