0:08 buddy now can you explain what exactly going on with beat buddy well beat buddy
0:12 is a music action Puzzler so the entire environment is generating the music and
0:17 um all the game mechanics are crucial part of it so just by playing a mix a
0:21 song that is part of one level and kind of Live And Roll with that and Inter
0:26 interact with that kind of music one thing that I noticed about this game is
0:29 that a lot of audio-based games are super relaxing this game while it is
0:34 still relaxing has more of the competitive component to it where you
0:37 can die a lot of audio based games you can't really die uh how how was it
0:41 trying to incorporate that into your game it was really fun at some point we
0:45 realized that I mean it's still an action adventure right so you want to
0:48 have all that stuff that's in an action adventure so if you couldn't die that
0:51 would be kind of boring and we also have like a combat situations and all these
0:56 things you expect like Puzzles and all that stuff so it's it's a music game but
1:00 it's more in its Coral an an adventure that has like a really strong music
1:04 component to it and that's how everything kind of worked out in the
1:15 end now you brought up dialogue um how
1:18 exactly does the storyline for this game work who is beat buddy well beat buddy
1:22 is a guardian of music so the entire world is called Symphonia he lives in so
1:26 Symphonia is living breathing music so the entire world is kind of the
1:31 lifeblood of it is music and be bu is one of three Guardians who actually are
1:35 dreaming music into this world so um he
1:38 wakes up at some point and realize that two Guardians are missing and something's going wrong and that's how
1:44 his kind of Adventure Starts the entire story was as I mentioned before um
1:47 written by Ranna preet so um it's actually fun story because we were
1:52 trying to write the story ourselves and we're inie so we thought like yeah we're
1:55 going to make it somehow we didn't and uh we got really lucky because she
2:00 really good friends with Austin winry at at the same time we figured we need an
2:03 Rider she was looking for some minor job you know like Indie stuff to try her
2:07 hands on and we kind of got together and she she's Rewritten the entire story
2:12 within a really short period where we had the game already done it's amazing
2:16 like she's I haven't like I was I I
2:19 didn't believe that she would be able to pull that off and she did gorgeously
2:24 that's great to hear now um what do you find to be your favorite part about this
2:28 game oh I did the art work so my favorite part is the art of course but
2:33 to be honest like just working on a game is so much fun I I can't put it in words
2:37 it's it's one of the most joyful things I did in my entire life so like artwork
2:42 music like working with coders is really interesting because when you're an
2:46 artist and a Cod kind of has a different mindset you still have to talk a Common
2:49 Language um the features like figuring them out like figuring out how the Music
2:53 Works how how to incorporate that into gameplay and there's so many things that
2:57 are just so much fun and even like meeting some people like Austin winry or
3:02 ryanna preet who did the dialogues and working with them is also amazing and
3:06 like it's I think it's it's a general thing you will leave it all over the
3:10 booth place here with all Indies it's there is nothing that that isn't fun
3:14 actually it's sometimes it's exhausting and sometimes you're pissed because
3:18 something doesn't work but in the end you're just like hell yeah I'm doing
3:21 games speaking about exhausting this guy was just like games com and has
3:24 basically been doing this for N9 days straight thought I'd just give him a throw it for that um yeah so if you
