0:00 that means we're on time yeah we're on time we're always on time we're never on
0:04 time who said we're not who said we I think this is literally the first time
0:07 we're on time we're not even quite on time I'm still hello
0:11 everyone yeah I guess you're not really on camera no I'm I'm not I'm not even
0:16 there and the party the show don't start till I walk in so yeah we we are we are
0:21 not we're then where's your little keyboard I need to change the scene it's
0:25 over here here okay I don't remember which ones do
0:30 oh you you're not even signed in on Twitter anymore what no no that's on
0:36 that's on uh no no no don't worry about it don't worry about it that's uh that's
0:39 on uh Chrome see Firefox oh here you go
0:43 hey hey Twitter no no go for Twitter questions
0:47 no Twitter questions yet lannis do you
0:50 still use Gunner glasses no I do not in fact I gave them to Slick
0:55 today right um I sure did I sure did
1:05 no vcon 07 no it will not help okay so
1:09 who wants uh who wants slick to shave his horrible disgusting ugly mustach
1:14 can't see it see it there we go yeah who wants them to shave his disgusting
1:18 mustache on the live stream tonight it's for mber I think I'm supposed to keep it
1:22 till midnight but if the if the consensus is yes then you know what it's
1:27 so freaking ugly that um I think that
1:31 everyone will forgive you if you actually just don't um don't keep that
1:35 on anymore and besides I mean an interesting point that I would like to
1:39 make I think it's interesting because it's my point is that um actually in
1:45 Canada somewhere else in Canada it is midnight right now right it's not
1:49 midnight here no but I get a real kick out of that because on Twitter I have a
1:53 lot of people asking me what time it is in
1:56 Canada to which I have to sort of take
1:59 it deep breath by the way time zones yeah by the
2:03 way time zones Canada is like huge it's
2:07 like it's like bigger than some
2:10 continents actually is Canada bigger than austral I think so because Canada
2:14 is the second largest country and Australia is also technically a country
2:17 so I believe Canada is actually bigger than Australia um which should be
2:21 basically all you need to know we have multiple time zones so the time like
2:26 lots of them so the time zone I'm in is actually 4 and a half hours ahead of the
2:32 time zone that is on the very far East Coast or like off the east coast Canada
2:38 is like on islands and stuff yeah did you know that there's an island in the
2:42 in Hudson's Bay um that is actually
2:46 French land like France French really I
2:50 actually did not know that yeah there's like a small island there and like I
2:53 think they actually have French citizens like living there like France French
2:58 yeah do they have to cross the border to come into see that I don't actually know
3:01 I I just remember this little factoid coming up when I was in like grade five
3:05 in fact it's possible they're not even there anymore but
3:09 um cool yeah why don't we start with why don't we start with a little bit more a
3:14 little bit more Twitter questions let's have a look at some Twitter questions here switch to the thing haha you're not
3:18 on camera anymore anyway it's the lius tech tips live stream I can be all like
3:23 Bam Bam n you're invited bam you're
3:29 uninvited where is slick from slick where are you
3:32 from Canada Canada yeah you can tell from his jacket all Canadians have a
3:36 jacket like this this actually his
3:40 jacket I was trying to I was trying to the shoulders are tight I was
3:46 trying you know what sizes and
3:49 everything uh we're wearing jackets cuz we're in his garage which is the new
3:52 studio and it's kind of cool yeah it's pretty chilly in here it's just over 10°
3:56 C so you know we're we're trying to keep
4:00 we're trying to keep baby noises out of the video we're trying to keep our noises away from the baby when he's
4:04 sleeping so we're in sort of the new studio space you know what we should do
4:08 you know what we should do on the live stream right now A yes okay cuz it's
4:12 still early cuz the YouTube video is not up yet so lots of people haven't joined
4:15 yet only the dedicated followers have joined so far okay I need you to go
4:20 operate the camera for a little bit we're going to let them we're going to
4:23 let the viewers decide uh what we're
4:27 going to hang on the wall and where we're going to put it actually no we're
4:30 not going to let them decide decide what to hang on the wall because I've already decided that but we're going to let them
4:35 decide where we're going to put it so I'm going to
4:38 find this which I want to put on the wall so this is a this is a
4:44 6870 68
4:47 yeah um Barts 6870 yeah so this is the
4:52 this is the video card that was in the first video I ever made that got over a
4:56 million views so that was on the ncx tech tip Channel I did a video review of
5:01 it where I hooked up like three TVs and
5:04 uh I was running them in ifinity and it was like awesome and epic and so this
5:08 should go on the wall of ridiculously epic stuff so I'd like you guys to
5:14 vote two things number one is do you
5:17 want to see it sort of up near the top to represent the the Pinnacle of
5:23 achievement that getting a million views on one video on the YouTubes is or do
5:28 you want it more on the bottom with more like um you know because it's
5:32 understated it knows it's cool so it doesn't have to be like shouting from
5:36 the rooftops about it and then I also want to know if you prefer it on the
5:40 left or on the right near the axe so so
5:44 guys this is going to be on Twitter and I'm going to go ahead I'm going to
5:47 switch to the Twitter feed so you guys can see and uh yeah look's not really
5:52 pointing at anything right now maybe if I stand sit here I don't know what he's
5:56 pointing at oh it's this one there we go Okay so uh I'm going to see what the
6:01 twitters believes is the best thing to do with this particular graphics card
6:07 and I'm not doing a
6:10 giveaway okay is that a steel series Sensei behind you yes it is watching
6:15 live from the UK yes you are thank you for getting up so early or staying up so
6:20 late whichever you did bad cable management behind me oh yeah that's my
6:24 server don't worry about it uh GTX 680
6:29 yeah that's good hang the axe on the wall the ax is on the
6:33 wall it's even in the picture right now that's from art vanderlay I mean yeah
6:42 castanza uh that's a nice ax slick is
6:46 awesome you guys are going to make slick all full of himself well not that one
6:51 guy what the one guy say oh yeah no oh
6:54 oh find that tweet that was hilarious that was absolutely hilarious I don't
6:58 think I'm going to be able to find the Tweet but it was NE okay this guy says left middle to top 45° top and Center
7:04 take the axe Off the Wall take the take the axe Off the Wall are you kidding me
7:09 no way the ax can stay yeah that's like what if zombies come in the middle of a
7:14 live stream and we could not defend ourselves and you guys had to watch us
7:18 die we have one sword and one axe we both need one weapon yeah oh oh find the
7:22 Tweet go get the sword too though okay yeah we need the sword got to have The
7:26 Sword and the helmet we have the helmet the helmet's up there you can reach it
7:31 bottom and with the axe top and Center
7:34 left at top top top Center I'm seeing a lot of votes for top Center top Center
7:39 to the left of the axe yeah okay got it
7:42 top Center basically near the axe right above the axe okay okay yep so that's
7:46 what we're going to do we are going to put this graphics card up at the top of
7:50 the wall near the ax kind of in the center and I'm really not sure how this
7:56 is going to play out because I can't really fit back here right now with this
8:00 test bench here and sl's obviously not
8:03 lifting a finger to help me cuz I can't fit right there what do I even pay you
8:06 for I can't fit back there you don't pay me to be small ow my ankle oh I just kic
8:12 I just kicked a hard drive and it fell on my ankle and there goes the Corsair
8:16 Survivor that's okay don't worry it'll survive it's all good I got it okay so
8:22 um okay here we go here we go oh you have to show them that tweet you have to
8:26 show them that tweet I got find it I think it was only sent to you I don't
8:30 know it was only sent to me I think so didn't you oh oh okay um no cuz if you
8:36 search for see that's the stupid thing about
8:40 Twitter it's like you can't search it's ridiculous so difficult to what do you
8:45 think like here or like down a bit down a wee bit
8:49 Yeah Yeah like right there yeah yeah yeah okay so this guys is why I went for
8:54 a peg board because I wanted to be able to get these hooks I ordered a bunch
8:58 more off eBay so that I could just hang stuff on the wall and uh have it look
9:04 kind of like kind of cool and like industrial and uh I mean there's no way
9:09 to use hooks like this without things looking a little bit
9:13 ghetto okay and I'm kind of stuck so uh
9:17 are you trying to find the Tweet or have we given up on that I'm trying to find it I don't know if I will though yeah so
9:24 somehow this live stream will become about computer hardware at some point
9:27 guys don't worry we're uh don't worry we got we got this um okay this is going to
9:32 look really awkward but can you come like push against my back I can't put
9:37 any pressure on it because I'm standing so close to the wall that if I put any
9:41 force on this then it will push me backwards okay there we go oh okay hold
9:46 on that's a little hard no it's not hard
9:52 enough for those of you tuning
9:57 in we are hanging something on the wall
10:00 and what we're doing right now is 100%
10:05 necessary don't don't worry about it it's
10:11 okay the safety word is
10:16 cockroach oh it's not going in all right
10:20 well okay hold on got to like brace
10:23 myself better okay okay just find a discussion topic or something oh god
10:28 well we could talking about Intel or Scythe no no we should do Intel later
10:32 when uh when more people have tuned in yeah we can talk about uh no cuz Scythe
10:36 was one of the ones that I teased on the uh on the intro video as well so I don't
10:40 want to I don't want to use that one yet when none of those people have tuned in
10:44 yet this is this is really
10:49 awkward uh mind sweeper Adventure Mode I didn't tell you what that was anyways
10:53 yeah okay so in Windows 8 if you download mind sweeper Windows 8 doesn't
10:58 actually come with it um why doesn't Windows 8 come with mind sweeper that's
11:01 a tradition yeah but if you go on the uh the store you can download it like
11:06 instantly and it's a tiny little package so it's not really that big of a deal but you're a tiny package I disagree um
11:12 ow but yeah if you download mind sweeper on Windows 8 you can the camera's like
11:17 pointing way off right now but anyways watching lonus climb around in the
11:22 background don't worry about it okay okay mind sweeper Adventure mode yeah if
11:26 you download Windows 8 mind sweeper you can then access adventure mode and it's
11:32 like an RPG version of Mind sweeper and how does it have you played it yes you
11:37 you have to it uses mind sweeper mechanics so you can move across the
11:41 screen and you have to like gather gold and get keys and unlock doors and fight
11:44 monsters and travel your way through and like collect items and everything are
11:48 you freaking kidding me 100% And it moves um it moves like left to right
11:53 instead of Mind sweeper where you start anywhere you start on the far left and
11:56 then you can move to the right and you have to like progress proper L and acquire all the items and then get to
12:01 the Final Exit and then you get different scores based on how many of
12:04 the items you get CU you can get to the exit without getting like say all the gold bars but then you didn't do very
12:09 well if you just rushed to the exit so yeah it's pretty cool is it fun though
12:14 yeah it's actually kind of fun oh sweet yeah okay I'll have to try that it's
12:18 like Minecraft mixed with mind sweeper I
12:21 have never actually played Minecraft I'm sort of afraid to do it
12:26 because I tend to have kind of a kind of an addictive personality like when I
12:31 played wow for 2 months I played wow for two months right right right yeah and
12:38 then I was like oh I can't do this and I feel like you would just pick
12:43 some really really Grand project and not
12:46 quit until you complete the whole thing well my obsessive compulsive disorder
12:50 would uh and I don't actually I'm not diagnosed with obsessive compulsive
12:54 disorder just for the viewers not I'm not mocking it or anything but it's just
12:58 it's just like I I can be a little bit OCD about things
13:01 sometimes as well this is making really bad
13:05 noises are you actually going into the wall or you I went at kind of a weird
13:09 angle not going to lie maybe we should only hang one thing
13:13 on the live stream maybe we should just hang one thing on the live stream what
13:18 do you think probably okay good idea
13:21 that was my idea but you know you tried to steal it um yeah so that did not go
13:29 as planned are you good um yeah I think
13:32 I can get down do you want to go adjust the camera in the meantime yeah so that
13:37 if I do fall and hurt myself that they won't necessarily get to witness every
13:41 gory moment of it oh no I'm just going to make sure that it's all on camera
13:44 it's funny because someone was saying they were like oh what's that table
13:48 you're using for your set it's awesome
13:51 and um I need a new table and that looks really good and it's funny because these
13:55 are the crappiest tables in the world they weigh about a billion tons look if
13:59 I stand on them they shake like this like they're not sturdy at all but
14:05 they they're like so heavy they're ancient Ikea like garbage um like the
14:11 the the the actual color of these tables is basically like um there's another
14:16 tabletop it's outside or something but it's like the most horrible color in the
14:19 world I just spray painted them and I know it's not going to hold out very
14:23 well but it's just temporary so uh yeah
14:26 so so yeah there's nothing special about them you do not want these
14:29 cables okay slick come on back and maybe
14:33 we'll actually uh maybe we'll actually like do a live stream maybe we should
14:37 Dive Right into Intel you know what's awesome is that they actually can't even
14:41 see that graphics card that I spent all that time putting up can you play
14:47 and he almost knocked over a light we're good we're good what do I even pay you
14:50 for I don't know not oh it's reflecting
14:54 okay hold on I'll fix it
15:05 we good yeah all right see always keep a
15:09 sword handy yeah oh yeah a lot of people have
15:13 commented on my sword I got it at the Richmond KN Market it's folded steel so
15:18 it's not actually like one of those swords that's just just totally a
15:22 replica and totally useless it is sharp so like if we were fighting right now I
15:28 I would stand a cuz he's much larger than me um it's
15:32 only half Tang so you can see the uh the
15:36 pins only go down to here so it's not a proper it's like it's not a proper
15:40 proper sword but you know I basically I basically told the
15:45 guy I was like well I don't care how it looks but I want something that's
15:49 actually legitimately a sword not something that's like a glorified toy
15:53 yeah um so so this is what he this is what he came up with for me and I was
15:56 like okay yeah we're done we're cool that's good anyway we'll put that aside
16:00 for now um and then the axe has sort of
16:03 a less interesting story behind it the axe this ARM goes up to point at the axe
16:08 the axe um I needed to do some yard work and so my dad brought over his tools to
16:13 help me and then he forgot his axe so I requisitioned it which is pretty much
16:20 how I mean who here has ever who here has ever stolen a tool from their
16:26 dad yeah
16:30 it's like when I first started working on computers I never bought my own screwdrivers but I had my own
16:34 screwdrivers yeah I mean by the time by the time you're like 30 you probably
16:39 haven't actually bought any tools yet there all your dads but your dad's just
16:43 like why have I bought three dremels in the last 10 years well I'm sure my dad
16:47 knows at one point in time I think he just kind of bought another set of
16:51 screwdrivers and just left cuz there's this like gray box that has these yellow
16:56 handled screwdrivers in them that I've just always kind of had but they were
16:59 always definitely his yeah and I think at one point in time he just gave up and
17:03 bought his own like another set of his own yeah and was just like oh he can
17:07 have those whatever it's fine I think the thing that my dad
17:12 eventually gave in and just bought me was a cordless drill oh yeah because I
17:16 was always always stealing it you know
17:20 what for my birth for my last birthday he actually got me a circular saw oh
17:23 yeah and the funny thing about that is the one that he got me ended up being
17:26 DOA and so all this stuff that I've been
17:29 doing in here like putting together for those of you who haven't seen it I have
17:33 a white box now okay see I have a white box now I
17:38 built myself like some walls and stuff see cool stuff right uh so so my white
17:44 box was built without the benefit of a circular saw which would have been
17:49 beneficial um instead I used a jiga to
17:52 cut through stuff that was like this thick which I'm very sure it's not
17:57 supposed to do yeah it's not good for it
18:00 probably just not the best application yeah yeah but I mean it was fast and it
18:05 was better than and the funny thing is I don't have a wood saw but I do have a hacksaw so I was like okay I can either
18:11 use a hacka metal saw or I can use a
18:15 jigsaw neither of which are for this no
18:19 no yeah no just no uh where did our mouse pad that's
18:25 behind you all right let's do some let's do
18:28 some Tweeter so moving um is this like
18:34 working it's you turn the mouse off yeah here
18:39 okay cover him up cover him up oh he's
18:42 hideous are you guys over how hot he is yet can we just how do I scroll on this
18:48 thing it doesn't work I don't know yeah
18:51 SLI can't figure out how to scroll it's on a touch mouse there's no scroll wheel
18:56 and I'm like scrolling here try it
19:00 again well here click on the window at least make it the Focus
19:05 window okay try it
19:09 again oh you're at the top are you doing that with the
19:15 keyboard stop stop pressing the keyboard
19:18 you're trolling me stop okay okay okay
19:22 okay that's okay I'll scroll through them he want to hang the katana I never
19:27 gave my dad that great n screwdriver it's a flathead and can screww and
19:30 unscrew everything I have never heard of a Nar screwdriver here do you want to
19:34 squeeze over a little bit I don't think yeah you're just way
19:38 too large take the whole window what are you
19:41 talking about yeah but that's only because of like my
19:45 buffness you're just tall I don't look that big anymore CU
19:50 you're close to the camera yeah but you're wearing like the big jacket that
19:53 you're wearing to overcompensate for whatever it is you it's your jacket yeah
19:57 and I'm but I'm not wearing it
20:00 should hang the katana on the wall no the katana stays in my uh in my in my
20:04 living room um stop calling Ikea crap uh
20:09 okay I guess I could stop calling
20:12 computers computers and I could stop calling grape
20:17 juice delicious but I'm not going to do either
20:21 of those things I will you ever have estra on the live stream I'm not sure it depends I mean she's pretty busy sort of
20:26 at night and test bench one know which one there's on I can't see that oh a
20:31 test bench our test benches are high-s speeed PC teex stations and then one of
20:35 them is some MSI thing but you want a highspeed PC text station yeah
20:40 um hey flip here likes the new setup
20:45 flip is the first person who has actually given me any positive feedback
20:48 on the new setup with the blue wall and or with the red wall the blue thing um I
20:53 I think I tweeted this but I had someone
20:56 so I had someone give me a put a message on one of my YouTube videos where I was
20:59 showing off the room where they were like oh yeah you should switch the uh
21:03 the colors of the pegboard in the wall that's a lot of work I was like you
21:09 understand that red paint like like red red like like this red is like five
21:13 Coates right like yeah not a lot of work
21:18 not happening at all pardon my frl um
21:23 where do you get your okay what's the difference between a monitor and a TV besides the TV tuner and inputs that's a
21:28 good question question what is the difference between a monitor and a TV slick it's a lot higher quality
21:33 monitor what yeah what do you mean higher quality well the pixel density is
21:38 higher yeah but usually you get way less
21:42 latency pixel density is usually way higher yeah but I don't think the less
21:46 latency is a quality issue because TVs have more complicated processors yeah in
21:52 order to but for what you're using it
21:55 for oh so what you mean is why should a
21:59 computer user not use a TV because I remember there was one guy that used to
22:04 go to the same land parties as me who actually had like a 37 in TV bigger TV
22:08 every time that he was using for his monitor yeah and um so yeah okay fine
22:12 from from a PC application sort of perspective um input leg is much higher
22:18 on TVs they do way more processing on the image because they have to be able
22:23 to um just juice up the colors and make
22:26 it look more better as opposed to more faster um pixel density is very very low
22:33 because I mean a 30in monitor is going to be 2560 by 1600 and a 30in TV will be
22:39 probably 720p even probably yeah usually they yeah like 30 in so I mean you might
22:44 be able to get like a 30 something higher at 1080p but even then that's
22:48 much lower density um I'm not very fluent in TVs at all but the lowest one
22:53 I've seen this 1080p was 36 most TVs aren't TM though so if we were going to
22:57 compare to cheap monitor then so yeah they so so a TV will be
23:02 cheaper higher input leg uh probably
23:05 better colors unless it's a super cheap TV and you're buying like you'd be
23:09 pretty crazy to manufacture a TN TV because the TV would be like 10 ft away
23:14 and people would be like oh I move my head here oh can't see it where and
23:17 people window shop tvs hardcore walk into Best Buy or wherever the heck you
23:21 want to go and then they see them on the wall and then pick one it's usually how
23:25 they do it so you need to like have have
23:28 good picture quality reflex yes you can reuse a hard drive with Windows 7 on a
23:32 new pc Joel says I'm in need of a new pc but
23:36 don't know how to afford it I'm only
23:39 12 Joel you're going to have to wait a bit what did you have for a computer
23:44 when you were 12 uh the one my dad built
23:48 like you but it was yours no no no no oh okay what did you have for your own
23:51 computer when you I did not have my own computer when I was 12 I did it was a
23:55 Pentium 166 MHz I'm actually trying to
23:59 remember when I built my computer maybe it was new then oh okay well I didn't have my own
24:04 computer till I was 16 that was like legit I saved for like and had Onboard
24:08 video nice yeah nice yeah I saved for
24:13 like two or three years GeForce 4mx baby
24:16 that's balling I was way that was quite a bit before my time actually
24:20 yeah uh build a gaming rig for a friend should I use Windows 7 or Windows 8 uh
24:25 can you move the window over a little bit so we don't have that gray bar
24:31 want to thank you sir uh building gaming rig for a friend Windows 7 or Windows 8
24:34 what do you think um if you want to get windows8
24:39 just download them the Windows 8 start bar thing there's like a million
24:43 different programs that do it now uh we we we made a video a while ago about
24:47 Nite so if you're building in the computer if you want to run Nite to
24:51 install all the default programs one of the things in Nite now is Windows 8
24:55 classic start menu oh okay like
24:59 yeah don't get her done yeah I mean Windows 8 is lower is less resource
25:04 intensive it boots and resumes and sleeps faster um it'll obviously get
25:09 more support in the longer run did you hear about the whole Windows blue thing
25:15 no oh not at all so Windows 8 it this is
25:18 this is sort of semi- rumor I don't know how confirmed it is but I was I was just
25:22 reading about it so um you know how OS 10 The Branding hasn't actually changed
25:26 in years yeah they just kind of go 10 point whatever and then it's a new OS
25:31 but it's not that new like they're just making tweaks as they go so what I heard
25:37 is that Windows 8 is actually going to be the last like like for a while it'll
25:41 be Windows 8 and then it'll be every year they'll do a small update at a low
25:47 cost like you know how um like Apple only charges 20 bucks for the next
25:51 iteration of their OS and um I mean what
25:54 do you think so it's going to be Windows blue now and then they're just going to
25:58 change Windows 8 so it's just yeah I think that's like an internal code name
26:01 or something I'm not 100% sure but doesn't okay I'm not that great with
26:05 apple but don't they change like the animal yeah but it's OS leopard snow
26:11 leopard lion tiger so for differ differentiation
26:16 reasons that one's pink that's a they
26:23 should they should um they should have some naming convention to help it along
26:27 okay but it could be like blue and then orange and then yellow or something like I don't know I just heard this blue
26:31 thing and then I was like so kind cool with that are they just copying apple or
26:35 is it this like them no that's what everyone does
26:38 know mobile devices everything they're
26:42 bigger steps but there's always Little Steps in between and like on a mobile
26:45 device you don't pay for it right get it for free so it's not necessarily copying
26:51 if it's the future so you just think the concept of the OS is just changing and
26:55 Microsoft should just get used to giving away Windows and giving away off
26:59 office they better sell a lot of
27:03 Xboxes yeah and yeah surface and like a
27:07 lot of like paid Sky Drive accounts yeah no like can still charge
27:11 for like Windows but it's going to be
27:15 cheaper right okay I think it's going to have to be
27:18 cheaper this is the most homoerotic live stream yet now take off your shirts do
27:23 you want to do it no you sure yes is it
27:26 cuz it's cold in here and your nipples will be all like partially okay but
27:30 definitely not
27:33 completely I have this coffee for the whole live stream yes I play Minecraft
27:38 don't unsub yeah dare you yeah yeah one
27:42 of us plays Minecraft it's all good good enough humble Indie bundle yes oh yeah
27:47 the new humble bundles I guess this one's not indie CU THQ yeah THQ it's
27:51 humble THQ bundle yeah so if you guys don't know about it already there's a
27:55 new Humble Bundle it's a bunch of like legit THQ games what all do they have in
27:59 there it's company hero okay if you pay above the average you get uh slick Row
28:04 the Slick Row the thir slick Row Saints Row see I told you guys you boost this
28:10 guy's ego up and up he's going to think that he's some kind of like game Star
28:17 next thing it's going to be like you know slick PC Blood on the sand and
28:21 you're going to be all like with a bandana and like thug Life 50 Cent yeah
28:25 that's that 50 Cent thing or like you'll be like you'll be like remaking it like
28:30 2 years later like Chronicles of
28:34 Ric I liked Chronicles of rck actually did you like the first one or the second
28:37 one pitch black I don't know pitch black was really good was it okay pitch black
28:42 was like the first one okay okay pitch but pitch black wasn't Chronicles or
28:46 ridic though I think it was just pitch black then I think the next one was Chronicles oric okay whatever um Saints
28:52 Row the Third uh is if you pay above the average when I got it the average was $5
28:58 40 cents no it's way higher now though is it I think it's like 12 bucks now
29:01 really I think that's the biggest they've ever had it for a Humble Bundle
29:04 yeah but it's also like a plus titles oh I know I know like Triple AAA titles so
29:10 um yeah guys check it out just Google Humble Bundle if you haven't uh if you
29:13 haven't heard of it before it's really really awesome Darksiders one is in IT company Heroes with the DLCs is in it um
29:19 and then I think something else but this is all off top my head I don't really
29:22 remember is Metro 2033 in it yes yeah Metro 2033 is in it
29:28 safety word cockroach well yes it's even
29:31 better because it has the word roach in it yeah because you're
29:36 encroaching on my personal space y That's
29:41 exactly uh ala Clary asks how does twitch not
29:46 kick you for not streaming games because they
29:55 don't stop
29:59 uh yikes can you even lift that axe get
30:03 real like slick oh wow wow the this
30:06 guy's drinking the haterade this Nishant guy right here not as much as the guy
30:10 that hates me and I can lift that axe I'll have you know well I can lift the
30:15 axe I put it up there yeah I didn't have slick do it for me
30:21 nope all right clarification okay slick your are you
30:26 like a super fan of Assassin's Creed I freaking love Assassin's Creed uh my
30:31 favorite game series is um the other Scrolls but Assassin's Creed is probably
30:37 my second favorite game series really yeah cuz final fantasyy is
30:42 my favorite have you only played one no I've played lots of them Oh I thought
30:46 you'd only played six no I played through most of the first one but it was
30:49 kind of tough like actual number one or like actual number one I've beat five
30:53 I've beat six I've beat seven I made it like 10 minutes into eight and I was
30:58 like this is ridiculous eight was the first one I played eight was stupid so I
31:02 was like this is sweet and then I played other ones I was like oh I made it all the way through nine um I think 10's the
31:07 one with zidane and Waka and whatnot I get them I made it all the way through
31:11 10 I made it all the way through two I made it all the way through three four I
31:15 think was just rubbish if I recall correctly so I've played most of them
31:20 but honestly guys I was trying to play
31:23 I'm going to have to find out which one it is but it was just terrible I'll
31:27 probably do it now they they got they got tired of in my I know they're
31:31 continuing the story line but it seems like they just got tired of making more numbers so now they just add a dash and
31:36 then another number 133 is I heard I
31:39 heard one of my friends at school talking about 133 today it's like come
31:43 on like at what point are we just going to like they'll start doing it by
31:46 Seasons yeah I was actually thinking the other day they should release a game
31:51 that's structured like a TV show so you buy the game for like 20 bucks and then
31:55 once a week you get more content well it's called episodic game and valve
31:58 tried to do it where is episode three oh
32:02 well yeah but they don't release it every week they release it every like 30
32:06 years valve time week exactly yeah valve
32:09 time week Wiki Google Google valve time
32:14 if you're interested funniest thing ever I'm sure everyone watching this has heard of
32:17 valve time before though yeah we only have 1,600 people on the stream you guys
32:21 should tell all of your friends to join the stream because it's
32:24 awesome Joshua great question what is your favorite mouse that is still in
32:29 production because a lot of people ask me what mouse I use I tell them my Cari
32:32 laser and they can't have one cuz it's discontinued uh g9x is
32:37 awesome get a g9x because everything else is just sort of totally a waste you
32:42 know what you know what kills me oh and we're echoing big time what why would we
32:48 be echoing no one else has complained about it
32:51 yet I don't know I don't think you have the stream open in another window both
32:55 of our browsers are up yeah
32:58 oh it's probably just because of the garage guys the mic's a little bit
33:01 further away from us so there's not really a whole lot we can do there's going to be a little bit of echo uh my
33:06 foam strategy is not really doing anything and it's not covering the whole
33:09 ceiling yet and it's not covering the room yet I have to cover like that wall
33:13 and I have to cover the ceiling and yeah bear with us guys bear with us and
33:18 apparently I got the average totally wrong for the Humble Bundle it's only like six bucks so yeah it's usually
33:22 right around six bucks great deal oh oh check this out get rid of slick what a
33:27 mean yeah sck you're
33:31 fired um why do you why don't you put the
33:36 Twitter feet above your heads I like to see you and Slick interact and covering
33:39 him up isn't I thought it helped I mean here try it it's like when they get have
33:44 to do like the eye test it's like better
33:47 worse better worse and then you like
33:51 pick which one is better I'd love to I'd love to hear what you guys think okay so
33:54 here you find a topic I have to go log into my email where I arived all of thep
33:59 talk uh sure let's do that one let's do
34:02 that one okay so go ahead I'm listening uh Intel
34:07 with uh Broadwell is going to be releasing BGA socket BGA socket is going
34:12 to be soldered in so it's not swapable um apparently this will only be
34:16 replacing the tier of processors around like the 1155 tier not the 2011 tier so
34:22 you'll still have like the expensive tier of processors workstation um it'll
34:27 probably overlap with the server socket in all likelihood I can't see them going
34:30 to three sockets no no I seriously don't I can't imagine why AMD is using three
34:36 sockets anyway sorry sorry like moving moving right along so go ahead um
34:43 yeah that's what it is what are your
34:46 thoughts I'm not happy because I come from more of the value oriented series
34:51 of things okay because most of the computers that I have built have been on
34:54 a pretty tight budget um and I know you're going to bring up how many times
34:58 do you swap your processor oh that's coming that's coming for you like this
35:02 but I actually totally agree you totally agree with what I think it sucks because
35:06 I want to have more choices I don't think it sucks because I want to change
35:10 my processor all that often because I can't actually think of a time when
35:14 myself or most not all of my friends
35:17 most have decided that they want to change their processor before a newer
35:21 and better architecture has come out that they wanted to upgrade to anyway so
35:25 they had to buy a new motherboard all right I'm going to play a little bit of Devil's advocate here and I'm going to
35:29 give you all the reasons why Intel and the industry might want to do this I
35:32 don't care why they want to do it no no all the reasons why it might be
35:36 justified okay okay first of okay why don't we do why Intel wants to do it so
35:40 Intel wants to take as much control of the experience as possible we've seen
35:46 this over the last few years they integrated a memory controller they
35:50 integrated a PCI Express um interface they
35:55 integrated uh GPU yeah they're integrating more and more and and more
36:01 onto the CPU itself so what is this doing it's taking differentiation away
36:04 from the board partners because it used to be like it wasn't that long ago that
36:09 you could differentiate your board based on how great of a memory overclocker it
36:13 was like um ocz had like the coolest
36:16 thing ever it was like it was called the DDR booster do you know about this no oh
36:21 the DDR booster was amazing okay so it fit in a dim slot and it worked with
36:25 certain boards where you could just crank the beesus out of the voltage to
36:31 your memory so guys were using bh5 back then um so this was like a legendary
36:36 wind Bond bh5 chips to just crank way
36:40 too much voltage like doubling the voltage of their memory and uh and and
36:45 that was resulting in tangible performance gains and part of the reason
36:48 for that was because the motherboard designers actually had to
36:51 optimize the the timings internally within the North Bridge and the way it
36:55 communicated with the CPU the way it communic at with the memory a
36:58 motherboard was actually in some ways way more complicated 5 years ago 8 years
37:03 ago than it is now and important now it doesn't do almost anything there isn't
37:08 even a PCI controller on an entry level board think about that for a minute what
37:13 is it even doing in there that requires a high-speed interconnect Thunderbolts
37:17 an off chip separate chip yeah yeah um
37:22 USB 3 is built into the chipset but I
37:25 mean okay so it's 5 GB per second total
37:28 across all the ports so it's not like this is a super so it's we still got
37:33 SATA and SATA I mean like are we at the
37:36 end of SATA what's the new one that's coming something Express or something right I don't remember the name of it
37:40 but yeah we're I don't think SATA's developing anymore are they yeah SATA I
37:43 think is just done and so SATA I mean ultimately that's probably going to go
37:47 on chip because if it's going to be any faster than sort of SATA USB 3 they're
37:52 going to have to move it on chip okay so so Intel's taking more and more of the
37:55 ecosystem and they're putting it into the chip this does a few different things so it saves on cost it saves on
38:00 complexity and drives up margins theoretically for everyone but in
38:04 practice mostly for in mostly for Intel mostly for Intel um the other thing that
38:08 I thought was fascinating is because of AMD's complacency or lack of execution
38:13 or whatever else you want to call it Intel has been spending so much less on
38:17 die area for the actual CPU portion if you compare the die size of an Intel
38:22 Core i5 3570k to what would be the most
38:25 equivalent AMD chip something like an fx8350 where they're equivalent in terms
38:30 of their actual real world performance I I don't remember the exact size
38:34 difference but Intel is spending less than half on the actual CPU logic
38:40 portion compared to what AMD that means the actual cost of that chip is less
38:44 than half well they've been able to just sit there with all their R&D time that
38:48 they just don't really have to utilize lately and just spend it on like okay
38:52 let's save money right let's make it smaller and smaller and smaller it's
38:56 like Kepler how Kepler is a much smaller physically GPU than FY was with a little
39:01 like plastic extension on the end um so right so Intel is because they don't
39:05 have to they don't have to keep pushing die sizes in order to get more performance because no one's biting at
39:10 their heels um they're bringing more and more on board so this is a natural
39:13 extension so now what Intel is going to do and it it aligns with corporate
39:17 branding as well because just like something like Ultrabook they can go
39:21 okay this is a core this is a core i7
39:25 platform if you want a core I seven you're going to get you know SLI and
39:30 Crossfire and you know 16x PCIe you're going to get Thunderbolt you're going to
39:34 get blah blah blah blah blah and it comes with this CPU so they generate a
39:38 very consistent experience and from a branding perspective it's much easier so
39:43 the um the parts where I'm okay so so
39:47 there there that's that's why all this is happening it's lower cost it's uh
39:51 it's more integrated it's easier to control it takes more of the more of the
39:56 value and more of the uh more of The Branding and puts it on Intel and takes
40:00 it away from the guys producing motherboards um so here I'm going to
40:04 start to advocate for why it's a good idea okay uh lower costs will ultimately
40:10 benefit the consumer at some point you can be as cynical as you want about it
40:14 but at the end of the day how much did a computer cost 20 years ago yeah yeah
40:19 miniaturization has come for us we have
40:23 benefited from process shrinks and from lowering bomb costs so maybe your
40:27 desktop gaming computer actually isn't
40:31 going to go down in price much between now and the next 5 years but the
40:34 computer that sits in the dash of your car and the computer that sits in the
40:39 back of your TV and all those computers that will now be all over the place will
40:44 be a better value so overall it will come for you you will get a better value
40:49 out of all of these out of this tighter integration okay number two I actually
40:55 inherently trust Intel to deliver a cons experience yeah if I buy an Intel
41:00 motherboard I don't it to overclock like Sting I don't expect it to necessarily
41:05 have all the best features but I expect it to work yeah it'll work it'll do what
41:10 it said it does because they will always follow the code yes they will make a
41:14 standard that they know works and they will follow it they will follow it yeah
41:17 to the letter for Better or For Worse but usually for better yeah if I buy an
41:21 Intel SSD I expect it will work I mean
41:24 same thing like for my server machine you you see an agility hanging out of it
41:28 right now that's not what I'll actually be running the OS off of it's an old x2m
41:32 because I'd rather use that um so from
41:36 from a consumer standpoint I'm looking at it going okay well yeah that's fine
41:40 okay so next is let's talk
41:43 performance do you need more performance
41:47 than a
41:51 3770k yeah what for uh hire and stuff not not gaming not
41:57 gaming okay so then you should be buying a professional platform yeah okay so for
42:04 your most of your friends who want to play Black Ops
42:08 2 or whatever game that isn't rubbish um
42:13 new new Elder Scrolls game whatever else have we reached a point where the
42:17 CPU is really really not holding back the gaming experience I think what's
42:22 more holding back to gaming experience is consoles well yes um and I think gra
42:27 cards are going to be holding it back very very soon and hard pushing engines
42:30 and graphics cards and whatnot and 4K and 4K 4K is going to just C whatever
42:35 graphics card you have right now 4K is going to crush it y even modern games
42:39 today if you were going to try and run them at 4K it'll just destroy them like
42:43 just crush them they don't have enough RAM they don't have enough horsepower it's going to crush them so if we're
42:48 expecting cry engine 3 to bring a completely new level of graphical
42:52 quality and then we're expecting to run it at 4K resolution and then we've got
42:57 NVIDIA spending half as much on die siiz for their high-end card as they did a
43:01 generation ago um and delivering sort of
43:04 incremental generational upgrades on a longer and longer cycle because they
43:07 have less and less pressure from AMD I'm actually sort of worried cuz we're going
43:11 to want 4K 3D which means we're going to have to push 120 FPS at four times the
43:17 sort of when 4K gets more popular I think even
43:21 if this going to be really pressured by ATI well AMD have you seen AMD stock
43:26 price have you seen how much cash they have left yeah but the graphics CS are
43:30 still pushing pretty damn hard not profitably I mean again AMD is
43:35 another great example on the graphics cores I think their die is like 30 40
43:39 50% bigger than n's die yeah so in terms
43:43 of any from a business standpoint
43:47 trouble yeah I don't know but they will be pressured by what the consumers need
43:54 though but do the consumers need it but
43:57 you you just said 4K I need it 4K gaming
44:01 but I mean graphics card sales like if you look at if you look at the at the
44:05 market numbers are going like this and it's funny because everyone wants to
44:09 talk about PC gaming is alive PC gaming is alive PC gaming is alive but it's not
44:14 um you because of what we just said though nothing pushes it Plants versus
44:17 Zombies World of Warcraft that is PC
44:20 gaming now yeah so no one needs a GTX 680 for that but even like brand new
44:25 high-end Shooters it doesn't matter because they're all running terrible
44:29 engines that don't matter yes cry engine will hopefully push it and 4K will
44:33 hopefully push it so people will actually care about buying a new graphics card it'll have been a long
44:37 time I think the last the last time I think people were really passionate and
44:41 driven to buy a new graphics card was
44:44 8800 series and crisis yeah I mean it's
44:48 still it's still there the the old thing but can it run crisis still matters it
44:54 still matters um which is ridiculous but true
44:58 okay but I would argue that as soon as uh as soon as all of these limitations
45:03 hit us CPU actually won't be that important because GPU will remain better
45:08 for things like physics calculations whether it's using opencl or physx or
45:12 Cuda or whatever else um and the CPU
45:15 will be more than enough you manage sit there and manage yeah it's just going to
45:19 sit there and manage so okay so I would argue that for 98% of people we actually
45:24 don't need more performance than we have today go ahead keep shrinking it staple
45:28 them all together save power you sound like that guy that said
45:33 we don't need more than 60 F 56 KOB of RAM that's a misquote by the way he
45:37 apparently never said that someone said that was Gill Gat um okay so the next
45:44 one the next one from my side is we might not need it now we will need it at
45:48 some point okay the next one one from my side is is more Choice good for the
45:53 consumer
45:57 why would it be bad for the consumer because consumers often don't know what they're doing do you know how many
46:02 systems I've seen come across my desk where I'm like
46:06 really yeah but it's still nice to have Choice why how okay okay okay here
46:13 choice always drives competition uh okay but those you know
46:18 ASUS MSI Gigabyte ASRock well maybe ASRock to a lesser extent if they get
46:22 acquired but um those guys are always going to be competing anyway you you
46:27 still have choice but you won't be able to make the wrong choice you won't be
46:30 able to make a bad choice right because
46:34 someone will validate at some level that that's not a completely ridiculous
46:38 configuration and for you the Enthusiast
46:42 I believe it doesn't matter because you would have bought a saber-tooth and a
46:45 3570k anyway like if a literally think
46:49 about this if as Seuss solded a 3570k to
46:52 the saber-tooth would it bother you no
46:55 that's a huge amount of
46:59 but still it's still nice what do you mean but still I don't know I still want
47:02 the option to put it in myself if you needed th if you needed Thunderbolt would it
47:08 bother you that much to spend an extra $100 overall on the platform you already
47:12 spend have to spend like an extra 80 bucks on the motherb that's right so the
47:15 more integrated it gets yeah true so so so if you were if
47:21 you needed a premium feature like Thunderbolt does it bother you that you
47:24 have to buy an i7 no okay not
47:29 really so okay so those are my those are those are my three points so Point
47:33 number one is ultimately the cost savings will come to the consumer okay
47:37 the main the main reason why I don't like it is the more that this H like I
47:41 don't want this to be the like the person who kicks the ball and it just
47:45 continues to roll down the hill I don't want everything to just be like oh I
47:49 bought a motherboard I know have a computer like I don't want that to
47:53 happen why not it'll be cheaper but that's so lame and that will destroy
47:56 like why we're here right now it'll be fast
48:00 enough we can talk about which motherboard is the best and we'll have
48:06 one product to talk about and it'll be a saber-tooth with a 3570k is that such a
48:11 bad thing oh I don't know I mean okay look
48:17 here think about it this way do you want the PC to succeed yeah
48:23 okay what do you see apple doing they
48:26 profit last quarter was more than most of the rest of the entire PC industry
48:30 all put together yeah but that's a specific statistic and I can throw a
48:34 billion more okay but I think we can agree that they got there with
48:37 Simplicity Yeah by bundling things together by I mean honestly I think the
48:42 fact that Apple now has iPhone 5 iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 at three different price
48:48 points is a huge stumble compared to
48:51 what's made them so powerful because their whole thing was this is the phone
48:56 this is the only phone you need buy this phone Nothing Else Matters that's been
49:00 their whole thing if you want a desktop computer buy an iMac there's not many
49:05 configurations don't worry it's what you need that's been their whole thing and
49:09 so if the PC is going to gain traction with the mainstream consumers where why
49:14 did we lose all these Gamers to
49:17 consoles because they bought one thing and it ran everything we needed
49:22 yeah how do we get them
49:25 back I don't know so there I don't
49:29 necess just to disclaim this guys I don't necessarily believe this is the
49:32 best thing ever but that was my devil's advocate sort of here's why it's
49:37 happening I think it sucks because losing like I think it's good because
49:41 when you're building a computer for your buddy who doesn't care or when you're
49:46 building a computer for your mom or your your friends like oh I want to come play
49:52 Star Citizen with you guys when it's released and you're like all right man
49:55 I'll build you this like whatever no big deal I'll build you an i7 ASUS yeah and
50:00 it'll have everything he needs yeah but then when I'm building a computer for myself I want to be able to pick
50:06 everything Pony up I know and that's
50:09 that's the thing at the same time but then when like 16-year-old me or
50:15 16-year-old dude that messages me on Twitter is like I'm super into computers
50:20 I love it I want to build one I'm going
50:24 to have to be like yo get this kind of cop out pre-built thing because that's
50:28 what it's going to be now it's pre-built systems but it'll be a better value for
50:31 him I mean it's the same thing as it is with 1155 in 2011 today 1155 for 99% of
50:38 people will perform better yeah unless you're a high-end video editor graphic
50:43 designer whatever else for your mom and your dad and your brother and yourself
50:48 1155 literally performs better because
50:51 it's mainstream enough that the economies of scale allow them to push
50:56 the performance to to to to cycle the technology faster they can they can
51:00 recoup their R&D investment faster and create a new chip and cycle it cycle it
51:04 cycle it whereas with 2011 because it's so Niche they have to have a longer
51:08 cycle that's just the way it works because and it could be good because
51:12 maybe more people will buy that level so it'll become less Niche so the Cycles
51:16 will go faster but then replace the
51:19 console yeah I freaking hope so but like
51:22 I don't really see that happening because like the Bro aspect
51:26 consoles is not going to go away no seriously though um and I just like I
51:31 said earlier I don't want it to just be the first kick that starts the ball ring
51:35 okay would a more standardized PC platform make for a better experience
51:39 even for yourself remember the first time oh no that was uh that was diesel
51:42 never mind okay um okay what if things
51:46 were so standard that Windows was able to come with your usb3 driver it already
51:51 does and you didn't Windows 8 does okay Windows 8 does fine whatever whatever
51:55 the new thing is then whatever some new thing is that comes out what if because
51:59 is that their plan with their little mini development the more integrated
52:03 things we'll get the more integrated things will be you know I mean is that
52:08 Microsoft's plan with their mini drops mini operating system drops oh
52:12 potentially I don't know like I I only know what I said about that one before
52:15 so I'm not exactly sure but but will a more integrated experience be bad I
52:19 don't I don't think so I just think it'll suck for the super super techy
52:23 custom builder guys which is Who We Are
52:26 trying to but it'll drive down overhead at a retailer perspective at a system
52:31 builder perspective a huge Global Perspective it's probably better for
52:34 like me I don't like it as much right
52:38 okay well there you go guys I hope uh we actually haven't been looking at any
52:41 tweets or any uh twitch chat so I hope you guys haven't been just kind of
52:45 sitting there complaining that this is super boring
52:50 um and uh yeah what Eddie said here well
52:54 you have to show them what Eddie said geez so Eddie says he doesn't you know what
52:58 yeah let's take some of your comments on this discussion topic because I think this is really important um for the
53:03 industry in general and for for every Enthusiast uh whether you whether you
53:07 want to take sort of my devil's advocate side or whether you want to take slick
53:10 side I mean quite frankly here actually okay a little bit more uh quite frankly
53:14 my computer is an LGA 2011 not because it performs better for what I do because
53:18 it doesn't if I really wanted the best performance possible I'd get a 3770k
53:23 just like everyone else um but because I
53:26 wanted the baller platform I wanted the flexibility to put in as much RAM as I
53:31 wanted I wanted to have all those PCI Express Lanes just in case I decide I'm
53:35 going to put a 10 gabit Nick in there and a raid card and a graphics card and
53:40 a sound card and I wanted them all to have as much band with as they possibly
53:43 could so the Enthusiast in me actually is mortified by all this yeah but we
53:50 have to look at it from sort of a wider perspective than just our tunnel vision
53:54 but then for our individual opinions we don't necessarily have to because this
53:58 is what we think of it but that doesn't make for a very interesting discussion
54:02 because you'd basically say Broadwell is gonna suck ass and then I'd say all
54:07 right yeah just bump yeah I don't know
54:11 Kyle brings up a good point but I bring this up earlier yeah Kyle as a computer
54:15 salesman I'd like to voice my opinion on the choice versus no somehow ask slick
54:19 slick isn't even a computer salesman I'm more of a computer salesman than him oh
54:23 cuz I actually worked as a computer salesman for six months worked as a
54:26 computer salesman for like almost a year you were at Best Buy
54:30 true yeah i' I've I was at NC I got
54:34 people to buy not terrible computers I actually directed some people to ntx as
54:38 well probably shouldn't have said on here but oh well cover me up good
54:45 job okay then are but choice is always
54:48 good though I agree with him no I disagree sometimes choice is destructive
54:53 sometimes choice is actually bad because Choice leads people to buy dumb crap
54:59 like eventually buy because they screw up and buy some super computer that's
55:02 right but then people should be like intelligent and figure out that if they
55:05 spent $400 on a computer and it didn't work for them that buying a $2,000 Mac
55:10 is not actually the right logical
55:13 process you own a Pontiac yeah CU I don't have that much money in
55:18 general and it works it gives me from point A to point B so then if you had
55:21 more money to spend on a car would you buy a Mercedes or maybe just something
55:25 better Honda I don't know not a Pontiac I wouldn't buy a Mercedes
55:28 okay I forget where I was going with that hold on hold on no I was going somewhere with that the point was um
55:34 shoot what were what were we talking about I don't know but apparently this
55:39 guy thinks this topic is terrible and doesn't care about Intel
55:43 processors uh you know what uh hold on I'm trying
55:48 to you're distracting me now TR trying
55:51 to figure out what I was trying to say with the Pontiac thing you just don't
55:54 like my car which is fine I really don't
55:58 I totally hate your car it's stupid it's horrible I like my car
56:02 um uh computer salesman and then we moved on to something something right
56:07 right right too much choice is bad because it generates bad customer
56:11 experiences but then they should just have better salesman yeah have you met any
56:18 salesmen where are you going to find better
56:21 salesman that's like saying they should have like they should have I don't know
56:26 that that's like saying do some form of training training is not the be all and
56:30 end all but they should have some form of it how much training is there okay
56:34 but how much training can you do when there's okay here like between Gigabyte
56:39 MSI and ASUS alone and that's your like your one two three how many z77 boards
56:45 do you think there are oh a ridiculous amount but you should have like at least
56:49 30 like NC should have all their employees on a mailing list and when
56:53 something new comes out there should be like you or or someone else should check
56:57 it out and then tell them and they're going to remember that I mean think
57:00 about the way it worked at Best Buy with something like an extended service plan
57:03 where they had a sheet of paper and they could refer to things imagine if you had
57:07 to put every motherboard and video card on that sheet of paper they would need
57:10 like a microscope to read it and
57:13 sometimes the differences between all these motherboards are actually very
57:16 difficult to figure out that's true you've run into this why is this one even more expensive and you can't tell
57:23 you literally can't tell so oh that doesn't even include ASRock biostar ECS
57:29 EVGA why do we need this much choice for z77 motherboards we established earlier
57:34 on in the Stream that they all perform exactly the same I still like choice I still want to
57:39 be able to pick what I want okay every single time personally you might think
57:44 it's bad for some random person but again I'm pulling it back and saying that I'm answering this question on
57:48 behalf of me and not be on behalf of that random person all right whereas I'm
57:51 taking I'm taking the Every Man's approach to this cuz I can figure out
57:54 what motherboard I need yeah and I want to be able to figure out what
57:57 motherboard but based on how many people tweet me asking what motherboard to buy
58:01 it's hard and if you weren't following it and keeping up with it but does that
58:05 mean they don't want to it might be difficult but they might also enjoy
58:10 it um yeah I mean I do so I can't say
58:14 that no one does but I just don't think it's that likely are we going to get a
58:17 heater for the garage no we're not because heat is expensive and he's just
58:21 not worth it I'm going to bring my own jacket at some point in time so I don't have to that is an awesome jacket jacket
58:26 what's wrong with you it's also like army camo green and the sleeves aren't
58:30 long enough it's digicam it goes along with our high-tech overall experience
58:33 that we got going on here it's digital nice
58:41 nice uh the people who care about the change don't care about the best value
58:45 if it takes some of the fun out of building yeah I understand that uh the
58:49 topic is terrible what is L is saying he wants to get rid of his entire job it
58:53 won't get rid of my job at all I mean NC will still Tech stuff there will still
58:57 be Tech stuff because remember we're talking about how all this all this um
59:02 ease of manufacturer and all this Simplicity is going to turn the computer
59:06 into something where like a great example is something like the expensive
59:10 camera we just bought why isn't it running an Android operating system with
59:14 you know a powerful quad core processor
59:18 in it why isn't it running a Windows 8 operating
59:21 system with a Next Generation or two gen three generations away core I3 in it
59:26 that would be awesome I mean compared to the kinds of garbage processors they're
59:30 using in things like cameras today I mean imagine if we could put a PC
59:34 processor in there the amount of flexibility I mean we could start
59:37 writing custom firmwares for cameras and stuff but then why don't they just do
59:41 three sockets would it really cost that much more yes a socket costs a fortune
59:46 Intel's balling though I know but why would they waste they don't you don't get balling by wasting money yeah I know
59:51 a socket costs a fortune in validation and the ecosystem you have to build
59:55 around if they move into all those other devices I'm sure they're making their money well yeah they're making their
59:59 money but they're making their money by keeping everything BGA solder it on
60:03 solder it on solder it on solder it on and like what's to stop them from we
60:06 probably shouldn't talk about this topic for literally ever but what's to stop them from doing it to 2011 at some point
60:11 or whatever 20111 turns into oh they probably will but we're like 5 10 20
60:15 years away from that hopefully because there will always be that need for for a
60:20 high-end workstation that market will always exist it'll just be Niche I
60:23 wonder if this will make AMD more viable
60:27 I don't know I don't personally think so
60:30 personally think it will unless AMD goes for some gigantic push and they could
60:37 yeah and if they go for some gigantic push and they go like oh we're in the Enthusiast processor now and they make a
60:41 big push and they actually make viable processors in the high tier range then
60:45 or in at a low cost but slightly higher than what they're doing now but that
60:50 it's unlocked and you can overclock it you can there is room for them to
60:54 reinvent themselves as that cool company
60:57 yeah um where Intel will be like that corporate company so let's see they have
61:02 to last that long yeah exactly yeah
61:05 everyone I know is gaming on Xbox will buy PC you need PC be a game that
61:10 everyone needs yeah I hope Star Citizen is that game I'm super excited about
61:13 that there's a couple possibly big games can be Robert you can use a controller
61:18 on a PC Xbox 360 works just fine Xbox 360
61:23 controller works just fine on a PC just get an adapter on yeah and if you're I'm not sure if he's
61:28 using handicapped as a exact term or not
61:31 if you are actually handicapped you can get things like uh ocz Nia oh come on
61:35 that thing's stupid though no no but have you seen the paragan yeah that
61:40 thing's awesome that thing's cool Nia super cheap though yeah but the Nia does
61:44 and it works you just suck at it parag is way cooler yeah I agree have
61:49 you have you seen the video so if you guys don't know what the paragan is it's a glove you wear that has contact points
61:55 all over the side I think you can do what 30 commands I don't know how many I
61:58 think it's here here and here and then your thumb just connects them all yeah
62:02 so you can do up to I think it's 30 different commands by just touching your
62:05 thumb to various fingers on the uh and there's there's like uh conductive
62:09 control pads on them and so they were showing someone gaming in a game like
62:13 League of Legends so instead of having this mouse on a keyboard you actually
62:16 just kind of have it beside you like this you got your mouse hand and you just go you know for whatever spell or
62:22 hotkey you want to hit and and uh there's Pro Gamers claiming that it
62:25 actually makes them faster than if they use a keyboard because they never have to look it's all muscle memory just
62:29 think go like that I haven't seen any of them actually doing it in a tournament
62:32 but I'm that yet I used it at packs and it is like it's fairly okay quick like
62:38 it's not super slow I personally find I'd be way faster with the keyboard
62:42 because then all your fingers are currently resting on the keys but you're more used to it but I'm more used to it
62:46 too but then this means that you have to move your thumb to each individual key
62:50 if you're representing your fingers as keys this way your fingers are all keys
62:54 I know but your fingers resling on the keys is not moving your fingers at all
62:59 unless you have to move your finger and press a key which is never remember like
63:03 30 Keys though q w e r no no I mean but
63:07 but if you could hit 30 like this like let's say you needed a wider variety
63:11 because for like a different game other than yeah on a keyboard I'd say there's
63:15 probably DF reload see Q is tough as
63:18 soon as you get into the ring finger pinky finger it's tough there's probably
63:22 like 10 to 12 keys that I can hit as quickly as I could do this definitely
63:25 cool like if you shoulder problems and stuff you can keep your ARM down off the
63:28 table and use it so I I asked for a demo unit that's cool so hopefully we can get
63:32 our hands on it and check it out and let you guys know what we actually think after extended use but uh yeah paragan
63:37 very very cool um should I get the 2500k or wait
63:41 for Haswell get a 3570k or 2500k I mean honestly I I don't
63:46 know how much faster Haswell will be I don't think anyone does right now yeah
63:50 uh doesn't that make it just another console the point of PC is the customization the software customization
63:54 will always be there though which is the difference between PC and console and
63:57 you can still be specific about your RAM you can still be specific about your
64:00 graphics card it's yeah Dyan asks why
64:04 did you move lonus Tech tips into your garage um because we have a new set for
64:09 ncx Tech tips but there actually isn't a ton of space in there and uh and I've
64:14 also had some other projects going I don't know if you've seen my Techquickie channel so if you're following
64:18 me on Twitter you've probably seen some of my tweets about it or maybe you missed them but I have some other
64:23 different video projects that I'm working on as well so that's part of the reason why I need something resembling a
64:28 studio space here at home uh you want to blame something for the downfall blame
64:33 the first Xbox yeah yep oh yeah for sure
64:36 no no doubt when building for me it'll be different from building for my mom
64:40 which I could get yep y totally agree Sean um I think Slick's right imagine
64:45 five years down the road and everyone has a high-end PC there's nothing unique about PCS anymore but imagine 5 years
64:50 down the road when everyone has a high-end PC now they can develop a game
64:53 that only runs on a highend PC
64:57 There You Go part of the reason for it again actually I didn't even cover that
65:01 before okay you know what let's move on to the uh let's move on to the next oh
65:07 actually I got one question here I want to answer Sean sometimes I I will take an
65:13 alternative position to what I actually feel like in my heart because there are
65:18 reasons that go beyond my feelings for why things work the way they do Devil's
65:22 Advocate you got bring up the other side of the argument so that the argument
65:25 which isn't boring and if we don't understand both sides then we're just
65:30 Fanboys yeah so you have to try to understand why com from why does the
65:35 world work the way it does I can still feel the way I do I you know what I mean
65:38 you guys ask me this all the time and I usually won't tell you do I have a
65:43 favorite of something like is do I have a favorite brand of motherboard yes I do
65:48 but I can't let that I can't let that get in the way of being objective
65:52 because I think it's not fair to you guys um so here find another topic for
65:56 us I'm going to go see if I've got anything over there and we'll move right along scy oh yeah okay go another sad
66:03 Topic in my opinion uh Scythe the makers
66:06 of gentle typhoon and many other fans and many other heat shuriken and Shen
66:12 chuzi or whatever they've called all the like best names for all the different
66:16 things uh they're Us North America
66:20 branch just went out a business so this isn't very applicable to anyone else out
66:25 out of North America because Scythe in all those locations is still running
66:29 just fine but the North America branches out of business so if you want some
66:33 AR15s you might want to pick those up quick um that's very sad for me because
66:38 my by far favorite fans for at least 120 mm is AR-15s they're 1850 RPM 120 mm
66:45 fans and that means I'm going to buy a small stack of them and then hor
66:51 them um but yeah that's kind of crappy
66:54 but like I said for anyone outside of North America it doesn't matter because
66:58 Scythe is doing just fine you know what this comes down to Too Much Choice was
67:01 bad not really actually it's because the parent company closed down it wasn't
67:05 even scyth USA it's the guys that owned Scythe USA so nah I bet if it' been more
67:11 profitable the parent company wouldn't have had to close down yeah but that was
67:14 like one of their smaller companies I bet site that been okay
67:19 fine uh I'm trying to find some of the
67:23 Twitter topics that I that I sent to
67:26 myself virtue oh someone asked us to
67:29 discuss um
67:33 virtue okay like Lucid logic's virtue oh
67:37 okay yeah not virtue I was like what
67:40 it's like yeah slick and I have uh we're going to start wearing Purity rings and
67:45 um we really think that if you guys Support lus Tech tips then um you should
67:49 wear Purity rings and if you're tuning in right now just to hear me say that I
67:54 really really hope you didn't tune out immediately I'm going to explain so
67:57 Lucid logic's virtue does a number of different things um although the context
68:01 that this guy was asking about it in was remember when we first saw the news of
68:05 virtue and we were going to be able to run multi-GPU with AMD and NVIDIA
68:10 graphics card mismatch generations of graphics
68:13 cards um why hasn't that taken off in
68:16 your estimation didn't NVIDIA get super pissed off okay yeah inia got super but
68:20 hurt about it yeah they did not want that to happen yep they want to control
68:24 the SLI EOS system remember what they did to the Big Bang X power I do
68:28 remember they did to the Big Bang X power Marshall bang Marshall yeah big
68:31 bang Marshall do you guys remember the Big Bang Marshall it was like an XL ATX
68:36 1155 55 board yeah it was a p-55 board
68:39 wasn't it I think so I think so p67 I
68:44 don't know whatever LDA 1155 board that was XL ATX that had seven PCI Express
68:49 16x slots and it had Lucid logic's virtue so that or no not virtue it had
68:54 Hydra Hydra yeah um their first I think it was their first yeah it was called
68:58 Hydra sorry so where you could in theory run seven graphics cards and have them
69:02 all stack together and make for better performance and NVIDIA actually blocked
69:07 quad SLI and I think triple SLI trip all
69:10 you could do is dual SLI yeah you could just do dual SLI on this board in spite
69:13 of the fact that it had seven PCI s PCI slots two graphics cards
69:19 yay um I don't know when I first saw it I basically went this is never going to
69:23 work yeah because it's asking for way
69:26 too much that's when I saw it I assumed that You' get like terrible returns yeah
69:33 I mean you know what's funny though is they when they optimized it fully for
69:38 something like 3D Mark 11 yeah it
69:42 actually delivered pretty crazy results you could see it like it was working
69:47 however the problem with that comes down to games there's so many games they're
69:53 all so different there's always a new patch yeah I mean when I when I was like
69:57 okay the reason this can't work is because they would need a driver team as
70:02 big at least as nvidias yeah yeah because you look at how hard it is for
70:06 AMD and NVIDIA alone to make sure that you don't see random graphical artifacts
70:10 all over your screen so why is it that some like small company wasn't able to
70:16 do more than them and like bring more together than them well I think it seems
70:21 fairly obvious pretty straightforward I've had people like tell me they want
70:24 to buy a mother board with with uh with Hydra and I'm just like yeah don't worry
70:29 about it uh virtue MVP however does a couple of cool things so that allows
70:33 notebook like switching between your dedicated graphics and your integrated
70:37 GPU there very small performance hit very very small but you can use your
70:41 integrated GPU for video transcoding you can use your dedic dedicated dedicated
70:45 graphics card for gaming uh it also allows a couple of other features so one
70:50 of them is a performance boost one that in theory like together yeah no what
70:55 does is it puts texture duties on your onboard GPU because that's easy and it's
71:00 just memory intensive and then it does something else but it
71:03 just so sketchy yeah we used it and it worked for like one game yeah and then
71:08 just like didn't and like caused performance degradation in other ones
71:11 and then I think the other one is something to do with vsync but when we were using we were mainly using an Intel
71:16 platform right yes I've heard it's a lot more
71:20 stable on AMD platforms weird with APU
71:23 and a graphic card I I know that's weird and I haven't done it myself obviously
71:28 but I've read that it's much more stable okay but who cares I yeah I know I
71:32 definitely agree I have a lot of people ask me about what used to be called
71:36 hybrid Crossfire where you have an APU so you'd have an AMD CPU with an onboard
71:41 GPU and then a low-end graphics card and you can Crossfire them together for a
71:45 performance boost people are like oh what graphics card should I get a 6670
71:49 with my Apu and I'm just like oh dude oh
71:52 dude just oh dude no um Apu is good for
71:56 onboard Graphics fantastic destroys
71:59 anything from Intel if you're looking to build a super basic machine get an APU
72:04 if you want to play any games at all done if you want to have a dedicated
72:09 graphics gaming experience buy a dedicated graphics card don't try to
72:15 like it's like it's like someone deciding they want a car and they like
72:20 staple two motorcycles together it's like will it work will it
72:25 move in a direction maybe should you do
72:28 it no no it's like but motorcycles are
72:31 so cheap you can buy three of them and staple them
72:35 together just no spend $100 $100 is the
72:40 bare minimum to spend on a graphics card any less than that and you're getting a
72:44 terrible value buy a real graphics card end of
72:48 story so there it's been said
72:51 now that's actually a great analogy
72:55 stapling motorcycles together it's just like so ridiculous Franken
73:00 Contraption um okay so that was my topic
73:03 what was your next topic uh let me
73:07 see there's useless human babies useless
73:10 human this is you know what you know what inspired this topic is my
73:15 baby oh right no I remember where we were going with that topic though old
73:19 school RPG Mages yes so humans actually
73:24 you know what no this was your point you make the point okay I brought up that a
73:28 baby dolphin immediately upon being born knows to immediately go to the surface
73:32 and get air and human babies are just pretty much generally useless at
73:36 everything they ever try and do for a really really long time my baby was trying to eat in this high chair with
73:40 his hands for the first time which is cute but ineffective the mess was
73:45 literally the entire span of both of his arms and like up the side of his head
73:50 into his hair with like a p uh like like
73:54 not pee but like peas peas peas bananas
73:57 pea banana and uh and uh like baby
74:01 cereal yeah and it was just like all over the place which like I said is cute
74:07 but yeah um compared to most other
74:11 babies animals they're we kind of suck
74:14 yeah they never stood a chance so I brought that up and then I came up with the analogy that we're kind of like
74:19 Mages in old school RPG games well no cuz we were talking dolphins and I was
74:23 like right right if dolphins are so smart then why don't they figure out how
74:26 to walk on land we figured out how to swim and I brought up that they don't
74:29 have opposable thumbs okay so then
74:33 whatever so and you kept on bringing up more things and I just kept on saying
74:36 opposable thumbs well yeah because you
74:40 know what no if they were so smart they would find a way to win they would find
74:43 a way around it because he think he thinks they're smarter than us which
74:46 apparently it's been proven that they're smarter but they can't do a lot of things because they don't have a posable
74:50 thumb so they can't like then they're not that smart how how does Smart have
74:53 to do with your physical form well we figured out how to like kick Tigers
74:59 thumbs I don't think we figured out how to have opposable THB a man can kill a
75:02 tiger even though a tiger is much more powerful tool that he makes with
75:05 opposable thumbs chimps have opposable thumbs
75:10 yeah I could take a chimp they're not nearly as smart as us though but they
75:14 have a but they have a posable thumb yeah
75:18 okay so what's your point which they're kind of lame but are able to survive
75:22 because they have imposable thums where are you even going with this
75:26 where this is you okay so humans so humans start out
75:31 useless but then later on in life they get totally op completely imba because
75:38 they they're like old school RPG Mages they suck at the beginning and they're
75:41 horrible to play and they're really annoying but then once you level up a whole bunch all the Warriors are
75:45 terrible and you're amazing and overpowered Diablo 1 is a great example
75:49 of that like you you die in like two hits at the beginning if you're a mage
75:54 but then by end of it you just like walk around with a staff of apocalypse and
75:57 you're just like right click right click right click right you never actually
76:00 have to go in the room you just walk around with like your BS Mana shield and
76:04 it's just like the the the Warriors are just like well I actually can't have
76:10 that much health cuz like the game maxed it and
76:13 stuff yeah Everest one was also a really
76:17 good example of that and like balur skate ice Dale are both really good
76:21 examples of that you know what was hilarious Fable one I literally had like
76:26 two spells that I used so I had like a
76:29 knockback or something and then I had an area of effect or something stup or
76:32 maybe it was just one area of effect spell and it was just like yeah this is
76:35 this is all I you know I don't think I can think of even a modern game where
76:39 Mages aren't just kind of stupid overpowered just the whole time yeah not
76:43 really I mean Magic's just like it used to be the thing where it was like okay
76:46 do I want to have the beginning of this game really easy I'll play Warrior but I'll suck
76:52 later on or do I want the beginning of this game to be really hard
76:55 I'll play a Mage and I'll be awesome later on I wonder what it'll be like an
76:59 imba class in something like Star Citizen is there really classes though
77:04 kind of it's just the type of ship that you fly is it just the type of ship that you f I'm I'm not sure but if it's like
77:09 Eve it's more the type of ship in the race that you fly in the race but then
77:13 you can learn the skills for other races so it doesn't really matter it just
77:17 takes more time have you learn a skill for a race I mean you just like you just
77:20 read their book you just put one foot in front of the other and you try to get
77:24 there first
77:32 next that's a horrible
77:35 joke um what else you got we've got
77:41 applications or apps oh yeah but you
77:45 ruin all the punch lines so um the App Store thing Windows
77:50 App Store yeah yeah so Windows has an app store and I think a lot of people
77:54 have been kind of like uh well we were talking about developers yeah so we were
77:59 talking about sort of what a programmer makes these days and uh and I made the
78:04 point that an app programmer will get paid more inherently because they on
78:08 their resume they put they're an app programmer um so yes so luk
78:14 slick
78:18 Bazinga whatever done now it's live how many
78:22 people are watching 19900 uh
78:25 um yeah that
78:29 programmers um what what were we
78:33 awkward uh right right right so they make more inherently because they they
78:36 make apps and uh even though I can't
78:40 imagine what's what's different about programming an app versus programming
78:44 like anything else it's the same language you're just locked down yes
78:48 okay so is it any different programming an app for a phone than it is
78:51 programming an app for like Windows 8 or well it's like I said it's different
78:55 language okay but a lot of this skilles
78:59 you're Los you're using like uh sdks and stuff but you use sdks for a lot of
79:03 stuff you build for desktops and systems as well so it doesn't really matter okay
79:08 so a lot of people seem upset about the app store for Windows 8 or we can't call
79:12 it app store because uh Amazon did that
79:15 and then Apple tried to sue them and then the judge was just like screw you
79:19 no one cares is that what happened yeah a I never I never paid attention
79:23 basically just threw it out he was like like no it's a freaking app store you
79:26 can just leave it alone huh they I think everyone's just kind of sick and tired
79:30 of Apple just trying to sue everyone all the time okay so what's the difference
79:35 between an app and an application there isn't one so what's so okay so an app is
79:40 short for application so so basically what you're trying to say then is the
79:45 app store has always existed yes because
79:48 you just download things from websites but apps are
79:53 cheaper that m really which apps aren't
79:56 cheaper I don't know what can you compare really well you go like average
80:01 like a professionally developed application but it's US versus a
80:05 professionally developed app they're the
80:08 same thing if you bring it up that way but if you bring it say okay if you say
80:12 something from the iTunes app store or
80:16 downloading from a website if you get like they have Photoshop I could argue
80:21 app is actually short for apple and not application but it's not
80:25 it could be but it's not it could be a double meaning
80:29 no it's just not app store Apple Store
80:33 but it's not it means application they don't have anything else called an Apple
80:36 store oh my God they don't what that took me a
80:41 second to process of course they do they should just call their stores
80:46 app stores they actually should that would be that would actually be kind of
80:49 amazing yeah it would and you can go there and you can buy apps or you can buy apps you like Al buy an app you can
80:55 get a box for your app so we've always had app stores at the end of the day
80:59 it's called a retail store yeah um you can buy software there yeah you can buy
81:03 software there although it's kind of stupid yeah no one does that anymore
81:06 yeah no one does that anymore this this this will be like a great uh this would
81:10 be a great like Twitter question um when's the last time you guys bought
81:14 software at a retail store that's happening to games what I think is going
81:18 to happen is I don't think games are actually going to be sold I think it's
81:22 just going to be like if you buy a special edition you can get Hardware
81:26 when you buy a game right I think pretty damn soon games are all going to be
81:30 digital and then special editions are going to be the only way you get actually a physical thing well you know
81:34 what's been one of my favorite things to do over the last five or six years every
81:38 time I go to the mall in sir I swing by the EB Games and the only thing I do
81:43 there is I see how big the PC section
81:48 is it's at the point now where I was at I was at the source like I kind of I
81:52 kind of do this I just I'm just curious at the source they had four games on the
81:58 Shelf they had a couple Generations ago
82:02 WoW expansion it was like cataclysm or something they had Starcraft
82:07 2 they had Diablo Three yeah Diablo 3 and then they
82:13 had like one other game or something like that it was like four or five games
82:17 and they had one copy of each that was
82:22 it I think the last game was like a Bethesda title or something like it was
82:26 like it was an RPG or something might have been other Scrolls or Fallout
82:29 something like that and I was like wow
82:32 it's dead yeah it's totally dead yeah
82:36 well it's like people are still buying it but they just don't care like if you're buying Starcraft you're just
82:40 downloading off battle that.net you're buying if you're buying a Bethesda game
82:44 you're probably just downloading it from Steam so if you're Microsoft why don't
82:47 you just stop selling physical games for Xbox what's the point what's the point
82:53 of a physical medium capacity right now
82:56 Xbox hard drive capacity as far as I know isn't that awesome okay and then
82:59 the only reason for limiting hard drive capacity would be to prevent piracy in
83:03 theory no I think it's just like if you bought one of the original Xboxes their
83:07 hard drives were only like 20 to 40 gigs now you can get bigger ones with the
83:11 elites and the newer ones they're still
83:14 small yeah they're still really small why can't I just plug in a USB hard
83:18 drive that's what I've never really understood I mean I love how Nintendo's
83:22 uh Nintendo's whole DRM thing for the Wii U involves because Nintendo still
83:27 ties your downloadable purchases to the hardware not to user account you know
83:32 that right yeah so basically there's this drawn out process where you like
83:37 transfer your Hardware from your Wii to your Wii U and like all the accounts
83:41 kind of go over and if you screw it up at any point during it I think it gets
83:44 really complicated and I don't remember where I was going with this no idea
83:50 right why don't they just let me put like a 64 gig SD card in my stupid thing
83:55 and like a big old 3 terb hard drive over USB I think just because you can
83:59 plug it into a PC really easily okay can't really plug an Xbox R
84:05 drive into a PC very easily I like you can but I think it's like this weird so
84:09 piracy prevention thing yeah okay so
84:12 then that's my assumption I don't actually know but makes sense to me once
84:16 again piracy prevention just destroys what could be good and makes it bad you
84:20 know there was I think it was like five or 10 years ago now um but there was
84:26 this a bunch of I think three Engineers or something like that from Microsoft
84:30 that were working on DRM stuff like the whole idea behind DRM just all were like
84:35 this is just not going to work they're like this will not work people will
84:40 always find a way around it and they almost got fired for it didn't actually
84:43 get fired and then they just totally right people will always find a way and
84:47 people are like oh PC sales are dying because people pirate stuff are you
84:51 kidding me of course but then look at consoles too
84:55 consoles are so easy to Pirate okay they might be easier to Pirate but I would
85:00 argue that the average console user is less capable of pirating that's true no
85:04 offense guys I'm sorry actually okay oh
85:09 oh the viewers are tanking the viewers are tanking no one's okay I'm sorry I'm
85:12 sorry console's okay oh the viewers are tanking again all the PC I'm going to
85:17 alienate the entire audience but I would argue that sort of lowest lowest common
85:22 denominator console users are not as Tech savy no I agree yeah but then like
85:27 like sorry mind my language but Rockstar Games not releasing freaking
85:33 GTA 5 on PC because they're like oh
85:36 there's too many Pirates it's not worth it what yeah that mean it's not like
85:40 they didn't sell enough to cover how much it cost to Port a game yeah like
85:44 are you kidding me you're just porting it you think there's not enough people
85:47 that are going to buy it like it's a joke you know what's the one that I find
85:51 most offensive I like Halo one I won't I
85:55 won't play it on an Xbox because playing Shooters on a controller is stupid yeah
86:01 um Halo 2 I played through like three quarters of the campaign I didn't enjoy
86:04 it that much Halo 1 I loved Halo 1
86:07 ending of the campaign Halo 1 Co-op is like the one of the greatest why wasn't
86:11 I ever able to play co-op first of all what why why can't I play co-op
86:16 campaigns on a PC there's like two games Co-op is like a given on a console
86:22 yeah and I mean the co-op experience on split screen is stupid and then what
86:27 what are you going to do you're going to drag a bunch of consoles together and daisy chain them
86:31 like see and then like put like four TVs
86:34 in the like it's just stupid it's a terrible user experience I try so hard
86:39 to find co-op games yes um it's so
86:44 difficult like alien Swarm was one that was kind of fun that was a free game
86:48 okay but but anyway so the one that I find most offensive is the one if you I
86:53 was going to pick one company that should be the most committed to the PC
86:57 platform that should be willing to sort of bite the bullet on a couple people
87:02 who download the game it should be Microsoft yeah yeah they have had every
87:07 chance over the last 10 years to save the PC as a gaming platform yeah and
87:12 they have not only not enabled others to
87:15 to to support it but they have totally abandoned it themselves well they didn't
87:20 own halo for a while they do now right
87:24 right so so where's my Halo 4 where's my Halo 3 for that matter did they own it
87:28 for Halo 3 I don't know I don't care I don't think they did okay where's my
87:32 Halo 4 I could totally be wrong I'm not that good with consoles but yeah I know
87:36 right where's my Halo 4 though I don't know it's not not yet was that Halo was
87:40 that I thought it was Hal just got released I'm really bad with conso I
87:44 thought it was one of their named things like and whatever fired cuz I don't
87:47 something to console yeah our viewers want to know about
87:52 actually I don't think they do I actually played it I played the new Halo it's actually pretty this probably looks
87:56 really inappropriate for a console game oh yeah Sor it's it's a mouse there's
88:00 show them the mouse pad show them the mouse pad thank you there's a reason for
88:05 that okay you know what why don't we do Twitter Q&A for the last oh wow two
88:09 minutes um did you have any other like killer topics that we had to cover not
88:13 really I don't think okay sorry guys this is going to look inappropriate
88:19 again no just what you do when the internet is out and artificial product
88:24 differentiation artificial oh yeah I hate artificial product different we'll
88:27 talk about that next week okay okay some people would bought it on a PC would
88:31 have to get it for console said the Twitter questions might want to change
88:35 the focus of your camera slightly to the foreground you know what it's on auto I should probably just send it to manual
88:39 you're right can't believe split screen hasn't killed the console I know right I
88:44 mean like remember oh you're too young did you play uh did you play7 goldm on
88:49 n6 are you kidding me of course I did I still have it yeah that was pretty good
88:54 four controllers play it all the time can you imagine if you'd been able to
88:58 play that with like dedicated screens for so
89:01 epic like
89:04 like back to Twitter questions okay Xbox
89:08 is pirated someone owns your coat I'm sorry like that is my coat I got
89:14 something nice way to go Taylor get on with the topic man and get rid of slick
89:18 he blows I think that's the same guy as before yeah you blow no yeah same
89:22 different why hasn't physical media move from optical disc to flash drive digital
89:26 is decent but Broadband isn't always cheaper available um flash drive is
89:29 still more expensive than Optical discs are like yeah discs cost nothing to make
89:33 super super super cheap they make them in huge batches and it's so prevalent
89:38 that you could probably find out of out of a 100 computers 99 of them would have
89:43 an optical drive or some kind of access to an optical drive and maybe 20% of
89:47 them would actually have an SD card reader so there's your
89:51 answer um GTA sucks but yes Halo is by far the most offensive thank you John I
89:56 agree for cooling performance 480 mil Rad or thicker than normal 360 I'd go
90:01 thick 360 really actually maybe not I'd
90:04 probably go thin 480 with low RPM fans yeah that's what I expected you to yeah
90:09 okay but then like finding a case I can fit that
90:13 too it's not that easy tj07 bam well
90:16 yeah but that's tj07 360 tj7 $360 $360
90:21 $360 why did Twitter just sign out I don't know we to go with the touch
90:26 mouse a you're killing me here and
90:30 xsplit is like gone you know what that's gonna that's going to do it for tonight
90:34 so I'm just gonna sort of do this some more and uh shut this down so thank you
90:38 guys for tuning in to the live stream tonight don't forget to subscribe on
90:43 Twitch more live streams good night byebye
