0:00 on the last episode of holy [ __ ] we
0:04 unboxed the most expensive item we had
0:07 ever unboxed before basically like a
0:11 truckload of 10 tbte drives from Seagate
0:15 totaling a petabyte of storage for our
0:18 new server which raised a lot of
0:21 questions in our viewers Minds what on Earth could some YouTuber possibly need
0:28 a petabyte of storage for the answer is today where we will be
0:34 unveiling the new most expensive thing we've ever
0:39 unboxed 2017 model
0:43 newest the red weapon 8K camera that is
0:48 the reason we need a petabyte of
0:55 storage and all the fraking accessories
0:58 that come with it
1:09 Dashlane is the userfriendly password manager that keeps passwords secure and
1:14 available on every device you own you can download Dashlane at the link in the
1:18 video description and learn more about the service at the end of this video so
1:23 let's begin by getting one of the biggest lies
1:27 that I have ever told my audience out of the way way I said we were also going to
1:32 look at all the included
1:35 accessories but to anyone who's ever shopped for a red camera they'll already
1:39 know this that's a big load of [ __ ]
1:42 because RED cameras don't include any accessories
1:46 now that is why we're using a saw by the way the average person might think well
1:52 you buy a camera for
1:55 $49,500 well you should be done it should come
2:00 with a lens a battery a you know freaking
2:04 [ __ ] but no that is not the way red
2:07 sees it the way they see it the more professional you are and the more you're
2:12 spending on your camera the less it should come with and the more you should
2:16 just have buckets of money to spend on all the other crap you're going to need
2:20 you see here let's let's let's get this right out of the way
2:23 first $49,500
2:28 this is the red weapon 8K brain with the helium sensor
2:34 it's capable of shooting it anywhere from 8K down to whatever smaller
2:38 resolution you would want it comes with this sticker yes my friends this sticker
2:44 is included in the box so you can pimp
2:47 the crap out of the brand you just gave tens of thousands of dollars to as if
2:51 they didn't get enough out of you already these are the crappiest Keys
2:55 ever for a case that you're never going
2:59 to use which is a shame because it looks really
3:02 cool but who would actually put the camera in there when it doesn't have
3:07 anything on it this is all you get this
3:11 we're lucky it has a freaking power button and menu navig it doesn't even
3:16 have a screen you can't use it there's no audio where's the XLR audio input no
3:22 you get to buy all the accessories so first is your batteries
3:26 and we're going to bring up we're going to bring up the uh the bill here start
3:31 having a look at this okay so what what is uh what do we pay for a
3:36 battery holy [ __ ]
3:41 $1,500 for the red brick power pack okay
3:46 so for 1,500 us smackaroonies you get four
3:51 batteries and a charger I mean this thing better be made out of like
3:56 titanium that doesn't seem very special I mean you know we're paying for at this
4:00 point is this cool logo that's a really cool logo so inside here is the red
4:05 touch 7-in LCD and when they ask me is
4:10 that good touch or Bad Touch I'm going to tell them it better be really [ __ ]
4:14 good touch because what does this thing cost red touch
4:20 $2,750 do you know how big of a screen I
4:24 can get for $2700 I mean look at this thing okay it
4:29 has has four buttons you know how many buttons the iPhone has that's not an
4:35 iPhone the iPhone has 1 two three four buttons and
4:41 cost less than half that much even at the highest capacity how much capacity
4:45 does this have none okay so how much do we have to pay for the privilege of
4:51 putting a Canon lens on our camera let's find out shall
4:54 we two grand for that what what's this
4:58 PCB made of 2 Grand look at this thing
5:02 black pcbs are more expensive what is a dsm2 base expander
5:13 $1,750 for the base expander so you
5:16 already paid them $50,000 for the camera and then just for
5:21 the privilege of plugging it HDMI out
5:26 onto it which by the way doesn't even output it for K because these [ __ ]
5:31 want you to buy their media instead of outputting to an external capture device
5:36 so that's what you got to pay for the privilege of powering the camera
5:41 controlling crap and like having a
5:44 headphone in unbeliev where does it even go you know what I don't care Brandon
5:49 will figure that out later so for the privilege of connecting a cable to my
5:56 monitor I have to spend another $200
6:00 in order to not have to just plunk it on here it cost me $200 and they don't even
6:07 include a cable do they actually not include a cable with this thing yeah we
6:13 paid more for the we paid for the cable too did this is a
6:18 $240 cable so for the privilege of
6:22 connecting a cable and having a cable
6:25 and of course this is proprietary as I
6:28 mean look at this thing I'll give them credit it's a nice looking this isn't
6:33 even a swivel fitting wow thank God it has braided
6:39 sleeving on it because otherwise I don't know how I'd feel about it so get get
6:43 this this this is a $100 card reader
6:47 $100 for a card reader the reason they
6:50 can give you such a great deal $999.99 on the reader is because they just bent
6:55 you over a barrel on the proprietary media you have to buy red mini Megs
7:00 which by the way are just normal MSA
7:04 ssds they're not even PCI Express m ssds
7:08 in a fancy red enclosure oh and you don't even get red it's like it's a
7:13 black enclosure if you don't buy the 480 or the 960 gig so red makes you buy an
7:19 adapter from their proprietary
7:23 interface to their [ __ ] proprietary
7:27 cable and you spend $200 on each end plus $200 for this dinky ass
7:34 cable to go between them I understand this correctly no no I think I
7:37 understand what's going on here so if it's not enough that they have their
7:41 fist up your ass charging you $1,500 for a battery and a
7:45 charger for the privilege of connecting the battery to the brain you know what
7:51 this come here come here look at this do you know what this is okay so this is
7:56 like a few cents worth of goldplated contact
8:00 there's like a wire inside like there's nothing in here there's a spring oh you
8:05 know what it's probably like $300 spring it's probably the best spring the
8:10 greatest spring there's an ARM for the privilege of actually putting your 100
8:17 it's $150 for
8:20 this look at this thing it's not even
8:23 like a fancy one
8:27 $150 this is like Criminal
8:31 last
8:37 piece dsmc2 side handle
8:43 $950 for us handle of course it makes it easier to
8:48 hold the camera that's not the conversation we're having I don't disagree it should have a handle I
8:53 disagree that I should be paying $1,000 for
8:58 it
9:02 so total damage switching to
9:05 Red
9:08 $138,000 for two red cameras and the
9:12 Bullit accessories that they make you buy
9:15 $60,000 in hard drives to store all this crap on another $20,000 in ndme SSD so
9:22 that all of our editors can edit red footage off of our Nas at the same
9:26 time and what do we get for it
9:29 8K videos that nobody can watch because
9:33 they don't have 8K displays thank you and good
9:38 night we're out of
9:42 here so we're back and if there was any
9:45 doubt in anyone's mind that my level of Rage hadn't been decreased in the
9:50 slightest in the last 2 months let me put that to rest for you yes we have a
9:55 functioning camera look at that o it's probably amazing or some [ __ ] but all
10:00 this time we've had to be recording to an external audio recorder anytime we
10:06 wanted to use the bloody thing for all the money we spent it doesn't have an
10:11 XLR input so we had to wait all this
10:15 time for some third party accessory because oh no the uh the the the red one
10:21 that's like $4,000 by the way that one's not as good so we couldn't have an audio
10:25 input module no we had to wait for the the omod so guess how much one of these
10:31 cost look at this look at this box look at
10:35 this I mean how much does that even weigh
10:39 $2,500 so this replaces the base expander that's
10:44 already on here what the the base expander is
10:51 $1,700 why the did we buy two basic
10:56 banders if we're going to replace them why did we buy two of them we bought two
11:02 $1,700 pieces just in case this one
11:06 stops working normally this is the point in the video where I'd like drop it in
11:11 anger but it's too
11:16 expensive Dashlane is a userfriendly password manager that helps you keep
