0:01 all right guys welcome to the WAN Show not the most organized one that we've
0:05 ever started i didn't even do my hair or change my shirt and you're like wearing
0:09 a firefighter shirt which is of course the the best Linus TechTip shirt of all
0:13 you're wearing it i know i know i I we we both failed we're both bad people
0:18 okay and this is a bad show as long as we're equally terrible i actually think
0:22 it's a fantastic show it's a great show we have tons of stuff you guys this week
0:26 we actually I we say that every week but we do have a ton of stuff this week he
0:30 was just at E3 which is the
0:33 uh adult Adult Entertainment Expo adult
0:37 adult no oh oh adult i pretended to
0:41 misunderstand and also not know how adult was spelled which is funny because
0:48 Wow oh how was the trip it was It was uh Am
0:53 I going through everything it's a long story yeah no I don't care it was It was
0:58 actually pretty good the most surprising thing was that E3 is like not a presson
1:03 event like nope not at all they have
1:06 signs all over the place like "Oh presson event blah blah blah blah blah."
1:09 And then the lineup for will call for people that bought their tickets was the
1:13 longest one you know it's funny because it's like CES where it's industry blah
1:18 blah blah only and you walk around and like most of the people there are just
1:21 off the street yeah but there was actually a considerable amount of people that just bought their ticket you know
1:26 how at like CES you had to like at least be friends with someone it's like no you
1:30 could just straight up buy your ticket and a lot of people did it like there was some mom and her like 12-year-old
1:35 kid that were just walking around like probably like a prodigy game dev
1:40 yeah that was it was Yeah that that was
1:43 weird and like at at PAX East when we
1:47 went to Oculus I was able to walk up and be like "Hey we're press can we get a
1:51 can we get something and they were like "Well we don't have any interview um
1:55 like time slots open but we can sit you down and run you through all the
1:59 different demos and have a guy talk to you but he just can't be on camera."
2:03 We're like "Okay cool e3 walk up and they're like "No press stuff wait wait
2:08 in line." It's like "This is a supposed to be a presson event and you have no
2:13 press stuff." So I had to wait in line multiple times because I couldn't even
2:17 like hop systems to try all the different games and stuff but then it
2:20 ended up being awesome because I was able to like find Palmer in the booth
2:24 and be like "Hey can we get an interview?" So we ended up getting like one of the best interviews at E3 that's
2:29 fantastic for Oculus just randomly which was great you guys have fun overall it
2:34 was good there was there was stuff that we don't have time to talk about which Are you releasing the blog video of the
2:38 hotel i don't know it's It's We're We're
2:42 not sure but I have footage and I might show it off on the afterparty i I get a
2:45 kick out of all the people being like there's no video because I actually have
2:49 a preview of the stream running on my computer right now so
2:53 if if there is no video then that's Yeah I think it's on your side uh all right
2:57 so why don't we jump right into our our hot topics of the day so I've got two
3:02 hot topics for you that are sort of related gta 5 is coming to the
3:07 PC and um Dead Rising 3 is coming to the
3:11 PC
3:15 i mean that's it's good that that an exclusive franchise is moving to PC but
3:21 we well we have more to tell you later about why this is just the completest
3:26 epic fail that um it Well okay it could have been worth I don't know how much
3:30 worse it could be okay you go you go ahead you give some topics that we're going to talk about today uh next next
3:36 generation consoles are probably coming faster than we expected and that's not
3:41 surprising cuz the current ones are really not that strong or good at all
3:45 instead of calling them next gen can we be like shampoo and call them new and
3:49 improved gen next new nextG console like
3:53 the the like the the Nintendo thing and then the next one can be new and
3:57 improved nextG and then after that it can be like redesigned packaging which
4:02 they already do you know where they have like a Modern Warfare skin on the
4:05 console or whatever like they should just completely rip off shampoo and just
4:10 do it that way new an enhanced formula uh and then we
4:15 have the mag lev keyboard because magnets yo magnets dog all right so
4:20 without further ado here is the uh the
4:25 Okay I'll just press it
4:36 this is great someone's like "Now with 30% more
4:41 gen." Yes oh I love
4:47 it all right so our sponsors for the
4:51 show today yes highlander is coming this
4:55 will be the world's highest altitude terrestrial land party we are
5:00 collaborating with Austin Evans we are
5:03 collaborating with uh actually TLD today and Tech of Tomorrow are as far as I
5:08 know 100% coming paul and Kyle from Newegg might be coming that's mostly
5:13 confirmed as well logan from Tech Syndicate and Lionus Tech Tips are
5:17 putting on this event and it is going to be bananas expect some great content to
5:21 come out of this and it is powered by our generous generous sponsors ASUS
5:27 featuring their new ROJ ROJ see you got
5:31 me going rojz their new ROG series notebook as
5:35 well as Intel and Corsair so this is
5:39 going to be a lot of a lot of fun also we uh we owe our E3 sponsors one more uh
5:44 one more sponsor spot here so um actually I mean this is the timing is
5:48 not bad the next week thing isn't that great because it's not next week it was
5:52 actually this week but we're gonna be doing a ton of E3 recap and I just want
5:56 to thank our sponsors HyperX NCIX and H
6:01 wow I'm blanking thank you and Corsair
6:04 for sending Luke there see he's the one who's been saying that all week yep
6:08 whereas I've been focused on Highlander and the fact that there's some overlap
6:12 between them oh yeah that's a good point it's
6:16 like what am I doing yeah yeah no that
6:19 was awesome we actually have a Nintendo recap video of like all of the games
6:23 that are coming out in terms of Wii U uh is Nintendo getting their mojo back why
6:28 don't we make that our first topic let's go
6:32 nintendo's year like 100% you walk into
6:35 one of the halls you see a gigantic Nintendo banner you see completely
6:39 vacant booths and then you see no walking space at all around the Nintendo
6:43 area because it's full the press area was completely full there was lineup
6:47 cues to try every single like little station and the non- press area was even
6:51 more full uh the the invitational stream
6:55 was insane there was 100,000 people watching the Smash Bros invitational
6:59 before they started playing like people care they had they
7:04 had Best Buys around the world had Smash Bros and people were able to go play and
7:08 there was pictures of Best Buys where there was a lineup all the way around
7:11 the Best Buy and then down the street just to be able to play so for all the
7:17 doom and gloom around Nintendo and they are still losing money yep are they at
7:21 least recapturing their mojo i think they're recapturing their mojo they have
7:24 they have stuff like Smash Bros coming which should have been here already they got Zelda coming they have that new
7:28 Zelda announcement which looks amazing and that should have been here already
7:31 there's a lot of stuff that should have been here already let's just make this the Nintendo the Nintendo uh segment so
7:36 let's go through all of our Nintendo stuff so so go ahead tell give us your
7:40 thoughts then we'll jump into that uh Nintendo has already apparently actually
7:45 no we'll move on okay whatever talk about Nintendo and then I'll jump in with other stuff they they have I in in
7:50 the video that's coming in like 18 minutes they have I think 11 different
7:53 games like really big very important very well polished games that they could
7:58 probably release today because they're all playable there right and totally
8:02 smooth no problems fully playable um that were just amazing and stuff stuff
8:07 from Yoshi Toad uh Mario like main Mario
8:10 sequence games the Mario Maker game looks amazing and I got to play with it there and it was really good um Hyrule
8:15 Warriors is polished and really fun uh the Zelda game looks amazing all of
8:20 these big titles that probably should have come earlier um but I think it's
8:24 going to be okay i The hype around Nintendo at E3 was insane like the
8:28 PlayStation and Xbox stuff was fairly populated and stuff that you would
8:32 expect to be populated like Borderlands and like Far Cry there was a fairly
8:36 large lineup but the lineup to play and get like hands-on interaction with Far
8:42 Cry and Assassin's Creed and like Borderlands these big titles were not as
8:47 big and not as engaged as anything at Nintendo including like I I can't even
8:52 remember what it's called right now but some Squid Game where you like run
8:56 around and paint things but it was tons of fun it's It looked super stupid but
9:00 it's it's called Turf War yeah and you just run around with these paint guns
9:04 and you have to like cover all the ground in paint and it's an FPS at the
9:07 same time so you're covering the ground in paint to gain points and whoever has the most ground covered in their color
9:12 of paint at the end wins but you can kill the other guys and then they get a
9:15 respawn timer and they respond in the back of their base that sounds like a lot of fun it was actually It was really
9:20 competitive despite how like kind of casual filthy casual yeah totally filthy
9:25 casual but it was super competitive and there was that was one of the most lined up for games splatoon that's what it was
9:31 called thanks Nick yeah thanks Nick it's called Splatoon but that was that was
9:35 actually so much fun and that I had never even heard of that before and that
9:39 was that was awesome so there's I don't know i'm scared okay what's your what's
9:43 your highlight from Nintendo oh Smash Bros smash Bros was amazing and that's
9:48 super boring but it was amazing neither of the people in this room gives any
9:52 cares about this because neither of us ever owned a game cube did we no but I
9:58 got to play with both and I got to talk to multiple people that were in the
10:01 Smash Bros invitational about Smash Bros um so I have feedback on Smash Bros and
10:06 the Gamecube controller and stuff i asked the guy who won the invitational
10:09 who was playing with me which was super cool um what yeah I I won shut up yeah
10:15 can we let you win a nice guy there was No there was two guys from the
10:18 invitational and a like fairly high-end on the competitive side employee of
10:23 Nintendo for Smash Bros and then me and we were all playing and the employee of
10:28 Nintendo picked a super overpowered character and the two invitational guys
10:32 were trying to fight him off because he had a super overpowered character and I
10:35 was Kirby so I did that like you turn into a rock and smash thing and I got
10:40 multiple kills that way and then ended up winning they weren't trying to focus
10:44 me but because they were focusing someone else I took advantage of it and
10:47 won which is fantastic nice um but yeah
10:51 the the Gamecube controller and I got to talk okay you haven't actually told anyone what we're talking about so
10:55 Nintendo is releasing a GameCube controller adapter for the Wii U that
10:59 will allow you to plug in four Gamecube controllers I think okay couple of
11:04 things number one is why the hell hasn't
11:07 everyone been doing this all along why can't I use an Xbox 360 controller on
11:11 the Xbox One if I like it better microsoft what's your problem like what
11:16 is the problem with carrying forward and back compatibility on controllers it's
11:20 an artificially imposed limitation a lot of the time and it just doesn't make any
11:24 sense and you know what even though Nintendo legitimately justifiably can't
11:30 use GameCube controllers on the Wii U they are allowing it to happen they are
11:36 facilitating it and they're making it reasonable 20ucks 20 bucks 20 bucks
11:42 20ucks not even that bad i mean we're talking about the price delta between a
11:47 current gen controller and a last gen controller and you're getting the
11:51 adapter to use as many lastg controllers as you want i mean that is such a
11:55 customerfriendly thing to do just go look yeah okay you don't like classic
11:59 controller you don't like pro controller you want to use what you're familiar
12:03 with what you like yes let's give it to you why isn't everyone doing this yeah
12:08 and you can you can even use like the old GameCube Waveird wireless
12:12 controllers that's compatible with the adapter so like they're just like yeah
12:15 know it works which is fantastic i talked to the competitive guys and I
12:19 tried the GameCube controller again i never had a GameCube and that controller
12:22 always felt weird but playing Smash Bros with it felt right and people are
12:26 pointing out the original Wii had it built in by default yeah yeah you just
12:30 down you just pull down the flap and you can get it but I mean you can't you
12:34 can't have it built in forever so I understand why they're doing it the way
12:38 they're doing i just think that Microsoft and Sony could take a page out
12:43 of this book where it's giving your customers the choice i mean Nintendo's
12:46 actually done a good job of that even on the original Wii so you've got your Wii
12:50 remote you got your classic controller you got your nunchuck and Wii remote
12:53 combo you've got your Gamecube controller you can basically do things the way that you want and I think that's
12:57 fantastic yeah but my my main question for them was why not the Pro Controller
13:02 versus the Gamecube controller and the feedback from You mean for the players
13:06 for the players yes the feedback from the I'm helping you i'm keeping you on track here the feedback from the very
13:11 competitive guys was the layout of the Gamecube controller is faster and more
13:16 efficient and also the analog stick placement like this is still layout but
13:20 analog stick placement is a lot better for comboing buttons mhm and all of that
13:24 totally makes sense and I kind of felt it while I was there because especially
13:28 that little yellow stick you can flick that and press a button really easily
13:32 right so I totally understand why you would want a GameCube controller and
13:35 then they have they if you don't have old GameCube controllers and you're
13:39 worried about like local stores running out they're going to be releasing what like a $30 Smash Bros gamecube
13:44 controller nice i believe that's what it is so you'll be able to buy new ones if
13:48 that's the case or if you want to make sure your old ones are still fine you can just buy a new one so for 150 bucks
13:51 you will be able to completely kit out your Wii U and Gamecube controllers
13:56 that's not bad that's That's really And if you're willing to buy controllers
13:59 used you can do it a lot cheaper than that yep yep definitely you can get
14:02 GameCube controllers pretty cheap although I would probably do that quickly yeah really before everyone
14:07 catches on to this yeah before before Gamecube controllers just start flying
14:11 off shelves everywhere um but yeah that was that was a ton of fun uh what else
14:16 was there i got to play Hyrule Warriors
14:19 um and it it was smooth i I was never a huge fan of what is it called dynasty
14:23 Warriors never a Well okay i was never a
14:26 huge fan because I never had it right but like it it was fun it was fun to
14:30 play it's an interesting new IP for them but it does seem even with very rarely
14:35 playing Dynasty Warriors I I was like "Yeah I'm I'm playing Dynasty Warriors
14:39 but as Link or Zelda right which is I
14:42 don't know it was kind of fun." All right let's talk about Mario Maker um so
14:46 this was originally posted on the forum by Top War Gamer so thank you for that
14:52 but uh your your thoughts on it you played around with it a little bit right yeah uh really really smooth and very
14:56 fast extremely fast my my concern with
15:00 something like this is is the same as my concern with any any game that kind of
15:06 goes "Hey we're giving you guys the reins." Um I like games that are
15:10 designed by professional game designers um did were they allowing people to
15:16 create their own levels while while you were there and were you able to play
15:19 other people's levels or how was the whole experience i got to play levels of
15:23 two again two of the competitive guys i was kind of going around with them for a little while um and that was kind of fun
15:27 because they were making absolutely ridiculous levels right like n
15:32 impossible levels because they're competitive guys um and that was kind of
15:36 fun but even if something's ridiculous you can you can jump into the editor at
15:40 any point in time of any level even levels that come stock with the game and
15:44 move your character so if you're like "This part's dumb," you can just be like "I'm now here." And keep going which is
15:49 actually kind of nice because one of the competitive guys accidentally made part
15:53 of it impossible he he didn't realize one of the things was going to jump onto
15:57 a certain thing that it did right so he was like "Oh okay whatever." And just
16:00 edit his character up onto the next point and then kept going which was
16:03 actually kind of nice um and you can also liveit anything so if you play one
16:07 of the stock maps you can live edit it so you can like add things to make it
16:11 more difficult and change things um and
16:14 my biggest worry was actually something that you just brought up other people's
16:17 levels right now they don't have it set up so that you can actually download off
16:22 of a community but they were like yeah every single
16:26 person pretty much who's played has suggested that right so not saying
16:31 anything's going to happen but yeah and one thing that was fairly interesting
16:35 about Nintendo is they had a slight indie feel the whole time where when you
16:39 go to aaa place it's just like game stations where you can play and PR
16:43 people yeah they had the developers for a lot of the games walking the floor
16:46 talking to people that's really cool it was really cool like the the the main
16:50 guy behind Splatoon every single time was going around to every single person
16:54 that was playing and asking them what their thoughts were after the game and like with a notepad legitimately writing
16:59 things down that's fantastic i mean that's something that really I I I find
17:04 differentiates one company from another one i mean we see the same thing at CES
17:08 where there's certain companies you go to their booth and it's like the
17:13 president or like VP of worldwide marketing or or whatever and typically
17:18 it's smaller companies but seeing big ones behave like that is really and you
17:22 see it sometimes it's not only Nintendo but it was it was very nice to see it at
17:26 No you do see it from time to time i mean even at CES we've met people like I
17:29 I met uh some senior director level i
17:33 actually met the CEO of WD at a party last year like you do run into these
17:38 people but it's usually really difficult and the fact that they were just there
17:42 in the booth was actually really cool and you you'd never really know like
17:45 they weren't wearing shirts that were like dev team like they had Nintendo
17:49 shirts but they just kind of looked like average employees right but if you
17:52 recognized them you could tell and a lot of people didn't so it was actually fine
17:56 they could kind of move around freely but it was really cool to see them picking up all that feedback and even
18:01 other employees they were using as like proxies essentially so those other
18:04 employees would ask questions and then I saw them like they'd meet up and exchange notes and then keep going like
18:09 they were really hardcore about getting feedback from people which is cool and
18:12 apparently that's where the Gamecube controller thing came from right so many
18:16 fans demanded a different input solution for Smash Bros when it came out but they
18:20 were like "Hey we'll just make this $20 little device it solves all the
18:23 problems." That's great what a great attitude yeah
18:28 that was like I said this was Nintendo's year they rocked E3 100% i got some
18:33 really cool I don't know if I was supposed to take these but um I the
18:37 voting cards from the Nintendo Invitational yes did you see how that
18:40 worked when they they held up the cards no they were like this big and you voted
18:44 for which character should win or whatever and it was like this book of
18:49 voting cards you are such an embarrassment sometimes he has no shame
18:53 when it comes to swag like I I've been in the industry a long time and
18:57 companies will be like "Here do you want the swag bag at our booth?" And I'm like
19:01 "No it's okay i really I don't even have anywhere to put this stuff at this point." And he's like he's going to be
19:06 like "Oh uh yeah I'll take it." Also I'll have Linuses do you have any other
19:10 stuff do you have any stuff that's just a part of your actual booth fixture that
19:14 I can just take it i've tried that before it's worked before you know
19:18 what's funny though um and let's move on to uh let's move on to our Did you have
19:22 anything else particularly for Nintendo cuz I've got a great segment uh the other stuff would just be in the video
19:27 which is up in like 7 minutes so be sure to check that out all right so let's
19:30 move on to speaking of booth swag the designed by Razer licensing program this
19:35 was officially posted or originally posted by Lafere on the Linus Tech Tips
19:40 forum thank you very much for that i'm going to switch over to my screen here
19:43 and oh there it goes that was interesting so this is the Razer Special
19:49 Edition H440 it is basically an NZXT H440 but
19:55 with what are they calling it a special edition H440 for gamers by gamers
20:00 designed by Razer H440
20:04 oh it's probably this adapter yes it is technostream
20:11 oh now stop well I'm holding it now um anyway so
20:16 this is it's got like a designed by Razer badge um right here and that's
20:21 pretty cool um but truthfully that that
20:24 this case isn't the big news to me the big news here is more collaboration
20:30 between brands like this i think that's a very positive thing i mean aesthetics
20:33 are definitely a factor for me when I'm
20:36 building a rig and I think they're a factor for a lot of people although it's hard to tell with you but aesthetics are
20:41 definitely a thing i mean as much as you
20:45 know what we don't owe the big corporations anything we don't have to
20:48 put their logos all over our chests and all over our stuff but if you really
20:52 like what someone and if that is a company is doing that and you really are
20:57 driven to put their their branding on stuff and that makes you feel cool then
21:01 I think stuff like this is great um they haven't changed anything really no like
21:06 let's be truthful about this they put a logo on the front they changed the color
21:09 scheme they put some lighting effects in it but that's about it it's still an H440 but what I like about this is the
21:14 H440 is a great case so now it's available in black and
21:19 green that's cool yeah I'm down with that anyway so on to stealing things
21:24 from booths um one of the ones that was in NZXT's booth that's like an early
21:29 mockup they're sending it here oh oh I thought it got stolen i was like I
21:33 didn't take this don't look at me no no
21:36 they're uh they're going to tear it down after the show and then they're going to send it to us so that we can our next
21:41 build guide that we film not the one that's coming out this weekend by the
21:44 way there's a build guide coming out this weekend the next one that we film
21:47 is going to be uh a green and black themed rig in this case cool that'll be
21:51 good we're going to have a pre-production it does look nice and because the green LEDs are very dark and
21:56 there's like the kind of blackout tint on the window a little bit it's this like deep kind of moody green which
22:01 actually looks pretty good i'm working on sourcing a bunch of like cool green
22:05 themed stuff to put in it that that sniper with the I don't know what it's
22:08 called but not red line cuz it's green line gigabytes new boards aren't green
22:13 what and this is going to be a Devil's Canyon system so I'd rather use a Z97
22:18 board if I can yeah bummer so I'm planning to use a
22:21 saber-tooth just because at least it's just black yep and then I'm going to get
22:25 some green memory we're probably going to paint memory anyway I'm giving away
22:28 I'm giving away too much the next build guide in that case is going to be freaking awesome um speaking of Devil's
22:33 Canyon I think that leads pretty well into the Pentium
22:38 KG3258 cryptically named um but the
22:42 results are looking pretty impressive this was originally posted by the
22:46 magical maniac on the Linus Tech Tips forum original article here is from
22:50 BitTech and this processor looks like
22:53 the spiritual successor to the Pentium D85 which basically means we are looking
22:59 at some pretty kick-ass stuff going on here the D85 was a dual core processor
23:05 it consumed a bunch of power whereas this one won't um it was very very low
23:11 clocked out of the box which this one is but what kicked butt about the Pendium
23:15 V85 was it overclocked like nuts that
23:20 thing was cheap and it was a fantastic
23:23 value and at the time that was Intel's response to a very competitive AMD where
23:29 Intel was basically like hm okay we have
23:32 to do something because our chips are
23:35 just not worth that much right now so
23:38 they came up with the Pennium G85 they removed some features like it didn't
23:43 have all the same stuff that something like a 930 well what did they call them
23:46 yeah I think it was a 930 or something like that anyway it didn't have all the same features but it overclocked like a
23:51 bat out of hell and it was a chip of choice for gamers this looks like it's
23:56 going to be pretty much the same thing so we've seen people reporting
24:00 overclocks from 3.2 to 4.5 GHz like I
24:04 said before it is only a dual core but in games that are not dependent on heavy
24:10 uh on on heavily threaded processors with you know hyperthreading and four or
24:14 six or eight cores this thing is going to absolutely kick butt so they're
24:19 showing what kind of performance increases you can see uh with it it
24:23 shows what kind of performance it has i'm seeing some reports although it's
24:26 not in this particular article that we could be looking at similar to 4770K
24:32 performance with this chip especially in games where we're not bound by how many
24:37 processing cores that we have so looks pretty good pretty good pretty
24:42 good that is actually really interesting but I've had people And it does have hyperthreading by the way two cores two
24:46 threads so just like a Core i3 but unlocked and overclockable yeah
24:51 yeah okay
24:54 what else we got there's like everything this week uh should we talk about GTA 5
24:59 and that other game sure sure that shall remain nameless let's do GTA 5 first all
25:03 right so this was originally posted on the Linus Tech Tips forum by a skew
25:07 thank you for that you're awesome yay shout outs for all the people who post
25:11 news on the Linus Tech Tips forum you guys are
25:14 awesome anyway um original article was
25:17 from eurogamer.net gta 5 is coming to
25:20 the PC PS4 and Xbox One and at least two of those three I think we kind of saw
25:25 coming but yeah
25:30 uh yeah you're going to be able to transfer your online saves which will be interesting but I haven't heard anything
25:34 on campaign transfer uh this is actually kind of the reason why I quit playing
25:39 back when I had a roommate we had it for Xbox 360 and uh I stopped like pretty
25:45 early in because I was like "This is an awesome game." But I'm gonna wait
25:49 because I hope it'll come to PC eventually i'm surprised it took them a
25:52 year i hope that's because they're optimizing it because on launch GTA 4
25:56 was like completely poo that's basically
26:00 all I have to say about it it performed terribly um but they've again they've
26:05 taken a year and I think the platform architecture is going to be a lot more similar than last time so hopefully that
26:10 helps them as well um apparently there will be existing
26:14 like the the existing add-on content for GTA V will be kind of bundled in it
26:19 there's going to be upgraded AI for the PC version even compared to Xbox One and
26:23 PS4 which will be really cool they're going to have improved things like draw
26:27 distances textures denser traffic wildlife uh upgraded weather upgraded
26:31 damage effects and tons of other crap which is absolutely fantastic i hope it
26:36 is extremely moddable they're going to have a movie maker but mods are
26:40 something I am pretty interested in because you saw like Icy
26:44 Enhance if he comes back and does GTA 5
26:49 like please it's amazing you did an
26:52 incredibly good job with GTA 4 but we need you again sir or Madame but I'm
26:57 assuming sir um yeah that would be that
27:00 would be great i don't really know what else to say that would be great that
27:04 would be great if you could just come back and do all that work that would be great
27:08 yeah because like you can you can look at GTA 4 screenshots from that guy that
27:12 look better than like any game that's released now which is ridiculous but
27:16 yeah that would be great and then there's the Dead Rising 3 super cool
27:22 announcement that turned out to be not super cool at all okay so hold on so
27:25 let's start with the good things about this so number one is that consumers and
27:29 I encourage people to do this all the time if you're unhappy about something
27:33 if you're all buttth hurt don't give people your money if you don't like what
27:38 people are doing don't give them your money so I don't know why Dead Rising 3
27:44 is coming to PC um it wasn't supposed to
27:48 it might have something yeah well I know it wasn't supposed to do we have the
27:51 link to It's not coming to PC and then the link way down way down yeah hold on
27:55 f Dead Rising no no that's control
27:59 bookmark stop it control bookmark
28:04 screw you hippie okay so uh
28:08 find it yeah it's not there whatever anyway so the original the original
28:12 story was I mean with GTA 5 the rumors have kind of been out there for a long
28:17 time um and they've never officially denied it they've never said "No it's
28:21 not coming to PC." With Dead Rising 3 it was not supposed to come to PC so
28:24 whether it's because Xbox One isn't selling that well um which would be you
28:29 know a definite sort of good job guys for not buying things that you're not
28:34 happy with uh so whether it's that or whether it's something else whether it's
28:37 you know um you know Microsoft kind of going hey well we want more Xbox One
28:43 content on PC because we really are committed to that um although I really
28:47 doubt it's the second one it's a great thing to see more exclusive uh console
28:52 franchises coming to the PC but then they went and they just wrecked it uh
28:59 one thing before we get into how they wrecked it there's a quote saying definitely not a timed exclusive it's an
29:04 Xbox One game we see a lot of this online it's not coming to PS4 or PC yeah
29:09 that was like months ago lol
29:13 well uh but yeah so they've they've they've frame capped it to 30 FPS and
29:18 they have a warning on it so that if you can take that cap off which is nice i I
29:23 guess I don't think you've put enough emphasis on it they frame capped it at
29:27 30 FPS on the PC
29:33 yeah and like I said you can take it off but there's a giant warning saying like
29:37 "We're not responsible for what happens if you do this." and they fully expect the game's just going to completely
29:42 break if you do that so the physics is act it actually works based on the frame
29:47 rate so it's what what Need for Speed game I don't remember which one but I
29:51 was just going to say you could double how fast your car was going by making
29:55 your FPS go from 30 to 60 and like we're going to have these problems with Dead
29:59 Rising and that's super stupid how lazy is that incredibly lazy there's there's
30:03 a quote in the Oculus video where I have an interview with Palmer where I'm
30:07 talking to him about 30 FPS versus other higher frame rates because for VR you're
30:11 going to need way higher frame rates than 30 FPS um where he says 30 FPS
30:15 isn't a design choice it's a failure
30:20 yay like yeah no but just how lazy is it
30:24 to tie your in-game physics to I know a dev on the team frame rate which is like
30:29 oh
30:32 god I'm sorry but it's terrible
30:38 um I don't Yeah that's really
30:41 lazy like I get it but it's lazy i mean
30:46 we're talking we're talking stuff that we solved like you know back in the 90s
30:52 like problems that on the PC we were
30:55 like "Oh yeah in Goose when I press the
30:58 turbo button on my like 386 it goes too
31:01 fast oh I guess we better address this." Yeah like we This was This was a problem
31:06 for a little while with older games where they had no ability to really
31:09 foresee this well they could but didn't really think about it and then it went
31:12 away for a long time and now it's back it's like why are you back should not be
31:16 a thing why are you back shouldn't be a thing at all i hope we see more ports i
31:20 hope we see ports that come over to the PC correctly i hope uh Dante or whatever
31:26 his or however you pronounce his name fixes this because that would be
31:29 fantastic there's so many things in the announcements of like stuff coming to PC
31:32 where I'm like I hope this one super well-known modder guy comes back and
31:36 fixes everything for
31:40 us i really hope so ah that would be
31:43 fantastic i mean I the thing I like
31:46 about this generation of PCs is that the way that they're built is so much more
31:50 similar did I say PCs cuz I meant consoles sorry consoles is that the way
31:54 that they're built is so much more similar to a PC that porting should be
31:59 easier and uh well mostly that porting
32:02 should be easier and but there are a lot
32:06 of issues with it too and I think that that's something
32:10 that the console makers are very well aware of so the original post poster for
32:15 this on the forum was Joners and the original article is from Techraar but
32:20 that is the the headline here is the next generation of consoles could come
32:25 much sooner than expected so and this is from AMD so remember these are the guys
32:30 that are making the CPU and the GPU in both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One
32:35 and the Wii U i said both because I forgot there are three i'm sorry
32:38 Nintendo you're still cool really you Well Nintendo we just said you won E3
32:42 i'm sorry they don't really get dropped under the next console thing because
32:46 they came out way before that 30% less improved 30% less the next gen except
32:52 their games are coming out 1080p 60 FPS i know right so like owned and you know
32:57 what correct i I think getting wrapped
33:00 up in in having to deliver okay this
33:04 this is kind of funny because we did a fastest possible on um what was it
33:09 refresh rates nope not that one frame uh on
33:13 um resolution while you were gone so we did a fastest possible on resolution and
33:18 I was getting sample footage of Far Cry 3 running at 720p maximum like
33:25 everything on ultra and 1080p with everything on minimum to go okay here's
33:29 an extreme example of how level of
33:32 detail versus resolution affects how a
33:35 game looks and in between switching from
33:39 720p uh right 720p maximum to 1080p not I
33:44 increased the resolution first and then I turned all the details off and I was
33:49 like you know if I pixel peep I can tell
33:54 but if I'm not looking that close like I just got a lot of performance and
34:00 it really doesn't look that different
34:04 so I'm kind of sitting here going like if you if you tailor your art style
34:08 correctly there isn't really a good reason why you can't turn off some of
34:12 the goofy effects and get a better frame rate and deliver what is in my mind a
34:16 much more playable experience i mean playing something like Mario Kart at
34:20 30fps 900p like the first thing I would tell
34:25 Nintendo is like come on man how are we supposed to play like that and yet
34:29 competitive gamers accept this on other consoles anyway this is it's actually to
34:34 throw back again to the Nintendo video that just came out 9 minutes ago in part
34:38 of that I bring up about how like Wii U is really not the most powerful platform
34:42 no it's really not but they know that and they design the games and tailor the
34:46 games for that and the art style of the games and everything still looks great
34:50 like have you have you seen the Zelda stuff no I haven't oh my god it looks
34:54 really good but then it's because it's their style yeah it's like the whole
34:59 Blizzard thing yeah Warcraft 3 is a very
35:02 visually pleasing game i mean it's got polygons that have like you know six
35:07 sides it's like this is a sword don't look too close
35:12 but it looks good because it's a style and they're pulling off a specific style
35:16 and it works really well but it Yes and I'm okay with that um and and with that
35:21 said I do I do like that you know we're
35:24 pushing the envelope graphics wise definitely but I'm I'm more okay with
35:27 that on the PC end where where we can actually have the performance to do it
35:31 anyway we're actually good i wonder what the backstory here is but AMD is hinting
35:35 that the console developers are even further along than Wii the end users
35:40 might expect um Nintendo has apparently already clearly confirmed that they have
35:46 a clear idea they did this a few months ago of what the Wii U successor will
35:50 look like and I gotta wonder like did AMD tell these guys yo dog you know it's
35:57 maybe another 20 30 bucks in bomb cost
36:00 but you really need to put a better chip in these things you need to you need
36:04 better graphics hardware in these things please let us build something better for
36:07 you like I wonder if they're just kind of sitting there laughing going "Okay
36:10 well I guess we
36:13 um but it really does feel like they just screwed it up graphics hardware
36:18 wise." And like I said we've got a really interesting video coming probably in a couple of weeks u where we're going
36:23 to take a look at how much more power it really takes to go from one resolution
36:28 to another resolution and deliver the same graphical fidelity yeah or from uh
36:33 certain frame rate to another frame rate yeah so so stay tuned for that that's
36:36 actually going to be pretty cool um what
36:39 else we got should we get into one of our like rapid fire stuff uh sure yeah
36:44 this is kind of cool okay so this is and it was originally posted on the forum
36:49 by D forum nope not a forum not a forum
36:53 thread i think I saw it on the forum actually but whatever um this
36:58 370in TV costs 1.6 million
37:04 US1 million pounds um it's
37:08 actually it's the Titan Zeus and you can
37:12 see you can see the in the picture here
37:15 like these are trees you know
37:21 uh there's there's no word on the actual image quality it's a 4K TV um so 370 in
37:28 works out to about 8 m wide by 5 m tall
37:31 and there's only been one sold to a private owner who wants to remain
37:35 anonymous that we know of so far although some people have seen it at uh
37:41 at the the at a at film festivals or and
37:45 apparently they will also be showing oh they'll be showing World Cup matches on
37:48 it so they are you can find them in
37:52 certain places but other than that this just looks like uh a because we can type
37:56 of thing at at even at 4K what is the
37:59 PPI of this thing i know at 8 m x 5 m
38:03 okay just for you personally let's say they cost the same let's say both
38:08 solutions are $1,000 okay would you want a TV or a projector
38:15 bearing in mind a projector is not going to perform that well in in a bright
38:18 environment probably a projector but it's not in the way like you can mount
38:23 it somewhere else that's what I mean like cuz like this thing is just I'd be
38:26 so worried about it getting destroyed all the time right
38:31 moving that anywhere is going to be terrible like they're saying they they've been to different shows and
38:35 stuff the first thing that popped in my mind is like how intricate the shipping
38:39 process must have been right yeah because holy crap and then it's a
38:42 projector you just throw it in a box it's like okay cool at that size I would
38:47 probably go for a projector and because I don't know like you can even see there
38:50 it's kind of black around the TV you're probably if where are you going to put
38:55 this in a house and if it's outside you're it's probably going to be at night 8 mters by 5 meters i'm just
38:59 trying to think where would you put this in a house like that's Although if you're buying a million dollar TV maybe
39:04 you can put this in a house right yeah
39:07 that's that's really big i mean 8 m that's like 25 ft
39:14 i I guess you could like you would have to build a room for it yeah but then
39:19 again at a million dollars you could even like a baller house where there's
39:23 like you know a basketball court we're talking like you're converting your
39:27 basketball court
39:30 it's kind of a big deal actually but then at a million dollars you're kind of
39:35 probably a big deal so I don't know yeah I Or the son of a big deal either way uh
39:41 oh Ghost is Ghost says it's 11.91 pixels
39:45 per inch which is sort of terrible
39:50 that's really not good i mean you're going to have to sit like like drive in
39:54 theater distance away from the So that that makes that room a lot more
39:57 difficult to set up i mean at a certain point and I I I think that this point
40:02 really is 55 in at a certain point does
40:06 a bigger TV even make any sense or are you better off just sitting closer to a
40:10 smaller TV you have to you have to wonder about room design like in in some
40:14 houses it's going to be pretty far throw distance what's what's the proper throw
40:19 distance for 55 in TV i can't remember
40:23 uh is this retina.com has sort of a measurement of of what pixel densities
40:28 will look like what will look like retina from certain distances but 55 is
40:33 pretty big for a reasonable size room whereas I think you could probably go
40:37 you could push 60 70 for something like more like a home theater like media room
40:44 but even then like you'd probably want to go projector because you're going to build a proper media room at that point
40:48 anyway and then you can throw like a nice 100 inch or whatever else and you
40:51 can do it on the cheap you can do it for a few And if you're building a media
40:55 room you can probably control the lighting yes so it's probably fine and I
41:00 would spend I would spend my million dollars on like the most badass seating
41:06 instead like with like poop holes built into each seat so you never have to move
41:11 and like Well no okay look so the way it would work is you'd have a constant
41:16 you'd have a constant suction from somewhere outside of the room so that
41:20 the smell of the poo would never actually reach the other people and then
41:25 what you could do is you could turn the suction off so that your butt doesn't get cold the entire time that you're
41:29 sitting there you have heated seats genius right the best idea ever no
41:35 but So was that like a you're a loser
41:39 did you have you seen the Rockat video that I released i haven't watched it yet
41:43 i'm familiar with the keyboard though yeah it is actually pretty interesting and I I've seen quite because my the mo
41:48 the main reason why I want to see that video is so many people ask about wireless keyboards and as it's not
41:52 technically just a wireless keyboard sorry someone just posted in Twitch chat
41:57 he put thought into this no that was off
42:00 the top of my head thank you though sorry go ahead
42:05 wow johnny says "Why are we watching this?"
42:08 Little do we know go back to Linus' house is this like in a dark room
42:12 there's this blue schematic up on the wall
42:15 i have like all these whiteboards yeah yeah yeah what if this would work we
42:21 could apply suction in exactly this way if we if we wire the pipes together we
42:25 can just have one big vacuum that's terrible sorry tell me about the rocket
42:29 thing it's wireless it's mechanical it's It's pretty cool my My biggest worry was
42:34 that like it it has a built-in mouse pad and built-in wrist rest and those are
42:38 just going to get insta destroyed yes um but it's supposed to be modular you're
42:42 supposed to be put be able to replace them i hope that it's not like this
42:46 crazy proprietary insanely expensive solution in terms of modularity yeah it
42:52 probably is probably is um but yeah so I mean it looks pretty cool it's like it's
42:56 like a desk keyboard mouse pad thing that's designed to bring gaming to the
43:00 couch better than most other desk keyboard mouse pad things that I've seen before other than potentially the couch
43:05 master but then that's like a The couch master's bulky yeah um the couch master
43:10 is multiple pieces so it's really not that elegant it's It's a very different
43:13 solution though from this one yeah so it's good in certain situations but it's
43:16 giant so I don't know it's up to you all right h Oh I was I was just thinking I
43:23 was like "Oh we should we should game tonight for after party." But the uh the
43:27 wife and kid my my wife gets off early so and then I didn't see the baby
43:31 yesterday so I guess speaking of the baby I got to feed him somehow so here
43:35 come our sponsors oh that's the wrong thing sorry i didn't mean to do that
43:39 okay so first up that's that's packs what am I What am
43:44 I doing oh like yay
43:49 we got there all right I'm let I'm going to let you thank the E3 sponsors thank
43:53 you to HyperX they brought us down to their whole HyperX offices and we got to
43:57 do an office tour and that was actually that was Did you Did you see that one part yeah I don't watch your videos uh
44:01 there was they have a 5v5 gaming land room set up okay I saw that part of it
44:06 ridiculous yeah that man those chairs man oh my Oh and they're they're really
44:12 really comfortable chairs i got to sit in one for a little while um that was
44:15 really cool uh right off camera in the gaming land room they have a constantly
44:19 stocked Monster fridge full of Monster Energy drinks hold on i have a
44:22 correction by the way back to that Pentium K anniversary edition it is two
44:26 cores two threads no hyperthreading sorry okay go ahead okay just saw that
44:31 um yeah that was pretty cool that helped me because I hadn't slept when I was
44:35 filming those Kingston videos all three of the Kingston videos i changed shirts
44:38 so it looked like different days but it was all all within the same little bit
44:42 of but it was in a range of like 30 to 34 hours that I'd been awake for filming
44:47 those videos so we walk into the land room and there's a monster fridge and
44:50 I'm like you know what's hilarious is I actually
44:54 got a message from Kingston that specifically said uh yeah it's amazing
44:59 how your team was great they were super awesome they were really professional
45:02 especially considering how little sleep they had
45:06 so thanks to Kingston for sending us down there also huge thanks to Corsair
45:10 and NCIX for sending us down there Corsair specifically wants us to
45:15 highlight the heck out of their new RGB keyboards which of course they don't
45:19 have to tell us to do no we've done that a lot cuz we we we heart we heart the
45:23 RGB keyboards all the way and then NCIX asked us to specifically call out what a
45:28 great value we think that buying a gaming rig from NCIX is and I think we
45:32 can both get on board that because compared to 50ucksucks compared to
45:35 buying a boutique rig or compared to building it yourself there's a
45:38 compelling value here because you get all the parts for the same price as it would cost to buy them off the shelf or
45:43 online from some other retailer they do price match so you literally can get
45:47 them for the same price as another retailer then they assemble it for you
45:50 for 50 bucks and that 50 bucks includes a one-year return to depot warranty that
45:55 includes troubleshooting and North American tech
45:59 support for your system so yeah yeah i
46:02 personally know people that are actually really good at building computers that are just way too lazy and have paid the
46:06 50 bucks yep and they straight up and they do a pretty good job you know it's
46:11 not it's not like old school voodoo PC
46:14 origami cabling it it isn't and they're not individually sle every wire that's
46:18 not what you're getting what you're getting is a professionally installed computer that is 50 bucks so like it's
46:25 Yeah it's actually not that bad when when I was first told I used to build
46:28 computers for people for like I think it was like 75 and I heard NX was doing it
46:32 for 50 and I was like "Oh I I really hope this doesn't get
46:36 out." All right so our next sponsor call
46:39 out and this one is a huge deal this time next week I will be getting ready
46:44 to get on a plane and go climb the uh
46:49 second highest mountain in the uh in the lower 48 wait are we having a win show
46:54 uh yeah there will be a land show he said this time next week I'll be getting ready a win show well readyish are we
47:00 streaming oh just calm down anyway there's there's W show next week so
47:04 we're going to be uh we're going to be preparing to hike Mount Elbert with a
47:09 huge group uh hopefully huge people just
47:12 they got to confirm and get their tickets booked but Austin Evans has his
47:15 ticket booked he's coming logan from Tech Syndicate is co-hosting the event
47:20 with us so this is a 100% collaborative project between Linus Tech Tips and Tech
47:26 Syndicate so they're going to have Kane there from their team they're going to
47:29 have How many times should we ask Kane about his glasses on camera zero
47:35 all right so the tech syndicate team's going to be there paul and Kyle from Newegg might be there and then TLD today
47:41 and tech of tomorrow so Jonathan and Elrich are like pretty much 100% going
47:46 to be there so it's going to be an all-star cast of guys going up and
47:49 having a land at the top of the mountain peak it's going to be freaking awesome
47:54 and ASUS is making this possible with their I don't want to say too much about
47:58 it because I don't know how much information is out there but with a really cool gaming notebook some people
48:03 know PE uh I'm not Yeah let's just leave
48:06 it for now because I'm I'm not 100% sure so really cool gaming notebook Intel is
48:10 in on the action as well so these will be Core i7 powered gaming notebooks and
48:14 finally Corsair is making us hike to the top of a mountain carrying RGB keyboards
48:19 we're very thankful to Corsair for being involved in making this event possible
48:23 but I really wish I didn't have to carry a mechanical keyboard with an aluminum
48:26 back plate up a mountain but it's going to be awesome guys there's going to be
48:30 some great content coming out of this some collabs some vlogs so be excited
48:34 for that and a huge thanks to those guys someone in the chat just said "Hey
48:38 guys." Hey guys welcome to the world's highest land party
48:43 when I I This is the first time I would have like formally met Lou or Austin oh
48:47 yeah e3 yeah and I was like semi-
48:50 disappointed that right when I walked a walked up Austin wasn't like "Hey guys."
48:55 I was really hoping that was going to happen oh I love trolling him about that
48:58 it's so fun so fun the the the video that he posted on his channel from CES
49:03 with him uh Dimmitri Dmitri from Hardware Connects I think it was me and
49:09 MKBHD um he's he like wanted everyone to
49:12 introduce themselves and I'm like "Hey guys it's me Lionus from Lionus Tech
49:17 Tips." And Austin's just like "No."
49:22 That's great oh he's a good guy i'm really looking forward to this trip it's
49:25 gonna be a lot of fun that was awesome did you Did you know that we posted a
49:29 video on L's channel no nick myself Brandon Austin were all in a video on
49:34 L's channel oh that's cool it's uh we got to check out the possibly a
49:39 prototype like they're using it for case manufacturing iPhone 6 oo yeah and he
49:45 like he dropped it on the table while already filming and we're all just like
49:49 what what is this and he like told us what it was on film and then we have all
49:53 first impressions and everything lou is such a badass i how how does he get this
49:58 stuff he is a badass that's all there is to say about it that's all there is to
50:02 say he's a badass uh I really I really
50:06 wanted him to come to the Highlander event and he really wanted to come but
50:09 it just didn't work out this time but uh you know guys don't be surprised to see
50:14 some kind of collaborative effort between Linus Tech Tips and Unbox
50:17 Therapy sometime sometime to to kind of make up for that to each other because
50:21 we we owe each other to to hang out i I and I think Lou was pretty disappointed
50:25 when he messaged me he was like "Hey do you want to get together?" Blah blah blah you guys are at E3 i'm like "Yeah
50:30 I'm not actually there my guys are there but I'm not." He's just
50:33 like "Okay
50:37 okay." And then we ended up going to a
50:40 dinner and a lunch with him so Brandon
50:43 Nick and I have met Lou more times than you have i think I have
50:48 had I I the I don't know if I've had
50:52 more meals with him than you actually cuz I bailed on him at CES cuz I had to
50:56 go to like AMD's party and they were
51:00 they like paid our way for that two days they covered our hotel and everything
51:04 and if I didn't show up at that party I was going to be like a really bad person
51:08 and I bailed on I bailed on Lou and Lamar Wilson and uh who else was there
51:12 for that i got to meet Lamar Wilson as well yeah
51:15 i suck i'm a bad person speaking of things that suck this product really
51:20 doesn't make a lot of sense to me i wouldn't say it sucks i think it's a
51:23 it's a cool idea the original articles on Hexus and this is Philips's um
51:28 virtually seamless twoin- one monitor so they showed this off at Comp Computex
51:32 and what they've basically done is they've put two ultra thin bezel 19in
51:38 display panels on a single stand and
51:41 they allow them to be rotated up to 22 1/2° this won um a Computex Gold Award
51:49 for outstanding innovation which was a little bit confusing to me because
51:52 Samsung had their MDX series which allowed you to have three or six panels
51:57 off of a single stand um quite a while back and I'm pretty sure that you know
52:03 monitor stands have been doing this for a while but the innovation here is the
52:08 virtual seamlessness between the monitors the one thing that I really
52:13 question about it and sort of why I segueed into this with speaking of sucks
52:17 is the one thing I question here is what is the value here compared to a 21 by9
52:23 monitor which has are these individually able to
52:27 be rotated yes the if if you can flip one completely over I might understand
52:32 it for office situations flip it over no not like that like you can you can move
52:36 them a bit oh not that yeah so compared to just a completely flat monitor I
52:40 guess it's nice to have them angled in at you a little bit but for this product
52:44 to be a success I would have to see it be very inexpensive i would have to see
52:48 it be targeted at business users who are
52:52 typically buying you know whatever uh that Acer one that we really like with
52:56 the slim bezel who are typically buying something like that and putting them next to each other if you're going to
53:00 save me a few millimeters of bezel space um I don't expect to pay a massive
53:04 premium for it so that's my sort of take on that
53:08 i' I've seen cuz when I first saw this which was very not that long ago I
53:13 assumed that you could take one of them and flip it over because I've seen that be pretty interesting in office
53:17 situations because if someone's sitting on the other side of the desk right and you want to show them put me on that
53:21 monitor flip it over it'll auto correct when it gets to the other side and they can see it and that's actually kind of
53:25 cool but then yeah I guess not all right so moving on to Daron's Magv keyboard
53:32 you want to cover this you're the keyboard dork um I'm just ah see but I'm
53:37 not really that interested i know I cover things I'm not interested in all
53:41 the time i don't think this is a good idea every time I talk well then say
53:44 it's not a good idea that's what this show is idea because Okay so it's the
53:47 it's the weekly analysis and news show
53:51 analyze can't spell analyze without anal
53:55 okay so it's blah blah blah blah blah you can you can this will hopefully be
53:59 able to get uh reduction in thickness in notebooks because you don't need as much
54:02 space for the keys yeah for like the plastic junk that goes in there yeah
54:05 yeah yeah and they're using magnetic levitation to keep the keys in a raised
54:09 position which already sounds potentially not good um it's I I don't
54:15 That's about it i'm worried about the magnetic levitation thing because you can throw off magnets with uh minor
54:21 impacts and it's in a laptop that's true so if
54:25 it bumps around too much and stuff like a lot of people are throwing SSDs in laptops now and then not treating them
54:30 as carefully as they did when they used to have hard drives in them right because a big problem with tossing your
54:33 notebook around used to be the hard drive if you throw magnets in there
54:37 impacts could be an issue um another thing is the depth is not very high
54:43 which is the whole point they're trying to slim it down more but the whole point
54:48 is that that's going to suck because if you've ever tried typing on a completely
54:53 flat surface that's terrible speaking of surface I see this being very applicable
54:57 for something like Microsoft Surface yeah I could see that something like a
55:01 type cover could benefit from this where thinness is the priority not um you know
55:06 the the tactile feedback yeah um but it looks like initial impressions of this
55:11 are that the travel distance isn't long enough and then I don't really see there
55:15 being any benefit on something like a going over just a straight up touch like
55:19 a more normal size notebook like that this is this is fairly large where you
55:23 have room for a larger design or this one this this is Yeah yeah yeah yeah
55:28 there you go um I don't know it's just it's it's
55:32 going to be a bad typing experience and if you just went for like a capacitive
55:36 touch which is going to feel worse but if if thickness is the priority I've t
55:42 you did you ever type on the touch cover from the original it was terrible but it
55:47 was really thin and I mean yeah
55:51 like this i don't think this is going to be a great experience is it going to be enough to be because it's probably going
55:55 to be thicker than a capacitive type oh yeah for sure it'll be thicker than that
56:00 so So you're going thicker you're sacrificing that thinness for a slightly
56:03 better experience which is still not a good experience well you haven't tried
56:07 it yet yeah but I I I can I'm making
56:10 assumptions to be 100% honest but I don't think it's going to be a very good
56:13 typing experience i don't know i'm It's It's interesting because it's new
56:17 technology although I don't I don't really think it's going to be a huge
56:20 thing personally all right so let's move on to something that I'm extremely buttthurt about this isn't the kind of
56:25 thing stupid this isn't the kind of thing that we normally cover on this
56:28 show like oh Google changed one feature or Apple added one thing to their You
56:34 know what this is so ridiculous google
56:38 is doing away with the ability to add a
56:41 calendar invitation to an email i use this every single day we use this a lot
56:47 it is so handy so in the old
56:51 days and like okay I'll any in the old
56:56 days all you had to do was within an email click add calendar invitation it
57:02 pops up a little box and anyone else who gets that email can say yes no maybe and
57:08 it automatically adds that event to your own calendar so that you don't have to
57:12 go over to your calendar set it up find
57:16 a sharable link to it go back to your email and send it to someone and the
57:19 reason they're doing away with it is because spammers are using it to send
57:23 calendar invitations to
57:27 people okay why do we care so So what
57:31 we're gonna we're gonna cancel email because spammers are using it to send
57:35 unwanted messages to you don't have to accept the invitation
57:40 super dumb super not impressed we actually do use this a lot and the thing
57:44 is it's not just internally we do use a lot internally but I'll get messages
57:48 from people that we're working with with calendar invites this is going to get
57:51 super annoying like why take it out it's
57:55 It's like they don't want me to use Gmail google's been doing a lot of weird
57:59 crap lately so mad and it's one of those things where it's like you know what
58:03 we're business users like if you're
58:06 going to take it away fine take it away from the free accounts or something and
58:11 then even though if if we're talking paid accounts then I don't think you're
58:15 going to have an issue with people abusing it because you there's not going to be that many to filter through and
58:19 find out who's abusing it right whereas business users need this kind of
58:25 thing anything that saves a little bit of time is enough to convince me to
58:28 change platforms and like taking integration away rather
58:34 than building it up is infuriating so
58:38 I'm mad i'm making sure you guys all know that I'm mad and I guess that's all
58:42 I really have to say about it yeah i don't know there's there's really not
58:46 that much else to say about it happy topic swiftkey yeah Swift Key is free
58:50 now dog that's awesome i posted this on Facebook and it was basically like Swift
58:55 Key is free go get it please uh this was posted originally on the forum by Top
58:59 War Gamer thank you very much for posting that um basically don't feel bad
59:03 if you paid though you get 10 free skins
59:06 so you get like a 10 pack of cool looking skins for your keyboard so I
59:10 went and cashed that in right away in fact you know it's funny cuz normally I
59:13 don't really give a crap about skins or
59:16 free perks or whatever for software that I have but Swift Key I was like I was on
59:21 that yeah and everyone at NCIX today because we've all got Swift Key I was
59:25 like "Did you get your packs?" They're like "Yeah
59:28 that's pretty cool that's pretty cool." And like when I first heard about this I
59:32 didn't know about the the theme packs and all that kind of stuff and I was like "Damn I bought that not that long
59:36 ago." And I was semi- disappointed and then I talked to this guy and he's like
59:39 "Free theme packs?" And I'm like "Awesome they handled it really well."
59:43 And I mean you know what even if I did pay for it and and now it's free I still
59:48 don't feel bad about it i got my money i like Swift Key i I it tells me it tells
59:52 me how many hundreds of thousands of keystrokes I've saved you know there's
59:55 still something I really wish they would address and that's when it auto corrects
59:59 something and you don't like it when you backspace it really needs to revert
60:04 like please someone at Swift Key feels awkward can you please just go fix that
60:09 um that's something that that's the one thing that the Google keyboard does way
60:13 better than Swift Key when I got Moto X again I was on Google Keyboard for a
60:18 little while and there are a few things like that that I like about it but
60:21 overall after using it for like a week or so you're like "Yeah I just need
60:25 Swift Key again." Every time Every time I do a phone review like I'm working on
60:29 the G3 right now yeah every time I do a phone review I try to use that vendor
60:32 stock keyboard for a bit and it's like a fiasco every time i'm just like "No no
60:37 no forget it." Can you leak some thoughts i'm interested i actually I
60:44 really like the vis it's off right now sorry um the camera's great i really
60:48 like the visual style of their uh of their latest skin uh some of the
60:52 navigation of their skin definitely needs some work um I I really liked
60:57 Sony's skin i really like HTC's i'm um
61:01 not a huge fan of Samsung's and so far I
61:04 would say this falls on the not a fan of it side of being a fan um but I haven't
61:10 spent much time with it and you can turn some things off that's what I noticed with the G2 i've only been switched to
61:14 it for like a day and a half oh actually
61:17 and there's definitely some cool stuff already like uh HTC copied the whole
61:21 double touch to turn the screen on thing yeah that's so nice hardcore copied it
61:25 well LG upped the ante this time because now you can do you can do a code so
61:31 instead of cuz double double tapping I find I accidentally activate it all the
61:35 time whereas now you can you can knock a code into the phone and it'll only
61:39 unlock if you do it a specific way i think that's really cool pretty cool i'm
61:42 down with that yeah so there's little stuff that I really like so far um but
61:47 guys stay tuned for the full review also I've got a I'm going to be working on
61:51 the Pad phone soon oh interesting pad phone X so that's that phone tablet
61:54 hybrid thing you can pull that out of the box what are your thoughts because
61:58 I'm a huge fan of the back buttons but what are your thoughts on the back buttons back buttons i like them so far
62:03 it's still very disconcerting cuz I've only been switched to it for a little while yeah yeah but this is the coolest
62:07 thing about it check this out i was going to say is is that a North American
62:11 blast from the past guys
62:14 antennas well is that a North American phone no it's not this is a Korean phone
62:18 it's for TV but uh I I got a kick out of it you know it's funny because I don't
62:24 understand why they don't just put it on the North American model because sometimes your reception is a little bit
62:29 borderline and I can't imagine it would hurt to have an external antenna nope
62:34 like I don't know why they're afraid to put it on people don't have to take it
62:37 out just have it on there and it's so small and light anyway this is the uh
62:42 this is the Padphone Phone X not that impressed with the bulkiness of it so
62:47 far um am that impressed with the
62:52 seamlessness of turning it into a tablet and it's not powered on right now but
62:56 yeah with the seamlessness of turning it into a tablet and with the fact that
62:59 it's going to be priced similarly to what would normally just be a standard
63:03 phone so stay tuned for that review as well this one between the fact that it
63:07 has wireless charging and the fact that it converts to a tablet may win me over
63:12 from the 1M8 so we'll see it's not
63:15 annoying when you hold it this way to have a phone cuz you can actually use the bottom of the phone thing to like
63:20 hold on to the tablet and it's got a solid hardware spec so it it may win me
63:25 over we'll see interesting no guarantees on that one um all right oh speaking of
63:30 Nintendo this was originally posted on the forum by Rafi and uh it's not
63:35 actually related to Nintendo but it's Microsoft trying to take feedback from
63:38 their users unfortunately and I'm not going to generalize about Xbox users but
63:44 unfortunately um some of the top voted
63:47 ideas are just stupid but basically the
63:50 site xbox.uservoice.com uservoice.com allows you to go and suggest things to
63:54 the Xbox team vote on other people's suggestions and just generally Microsoft
64:01 I guess they've just kind of given up they're like "We don't know what to do
64:04 so help us help you." And I'm glad
64:07 that's the right way to do it good job Microsoft so I just want to give them a
64:12 big thumbs up because I think we were beating them up a little bit what are some of the highrated terrible comments
64:16 oh this one with like 5,000 thumbs up is
64:20 um um oh can we get we want Xbox 360
64:25 game backwards compatibility and that's like the top
64:28 upvoted suggestion with like 5,000 thumbs up and I'm just kind of sitting
64:32 here going like are you are are you stupid like do you really think
64:36 Microsoft didn't think of that if that was a possibility like do you think they
64:40 didn't think of that we're we're talking emulating a console that is emulating a
64:46 console on a completely different architecture that's not you know two or
64:51 three generations ago it is it's a
64:55 stupid suggestion like the games would have to
65:00 be ported straight up and then you could make them available in the arcade or
65:04 something and is Microsoft really going to run around and and you know ask every
65:10 game developer to port all their games and put them in the market no it's like
65:15 yeah I I get that that's what you want but you have to focus on things that are
65:19 real i mean backwards compatibility for gaming consoles was never really a thing
65:26 it happened what once with the PS2 being backwards
65:30 compatible with the PS1 the PS3 had it initially but then it went away can you
65:34 play Xbox games on Xbox 360
65:38 some it was It was very It was a lot it was It was a scattershot thing though
65:42 yeah it was so you go back before it's
65:45 not like the SNES could play NES games
65:48 until like way later and you got this weird cartridge thing sorry the adapter
65:53 cartridge thing so you could get like weird adapter cartridges but even then
65:56 not all the games worked like it was like it's never really been a like yes
66:02 this is a thing we're 100% on board this you're going to be able to to to play
66:06 all your old games on your new consoles you can play Wii games on Wii U as well
66:10 yes you can but I'm just saying it's not
66:13 something that is all over the place people are saying GameCube games on Wii
66:18 i've I didn't know you could do that i don't
66:21 know how you do that yeah it's uh the small discs you just load them in the
66:25 the same way yeah you just you just aim yep like it happens i'm just saying it's
66:30 No I hear you yeah i'm just trying to give examples cuz people are freaking out in the chat it it's something where
66:34 it's not if it's not fundamentally built into it or the architecture isn't
66:38 somehow similar it's just not going to happen i mean the Wii was a lot more
66:41 powerful than the Gamecube which helps a lot the uh something like the Super
66:45 Nintendo was so much more powerful than the NES that we're we're talking about
66:50 using all that extra power to emulate something or however it needs to be
66:54 implemented with the Xbox One versus the Xbox 360 they're not similar enough and
66:58 the power difference is not enough i mean even PCs are having trouble
67:02 emulating Xbox 360 games that's very
67:05 difficult just emulation's weird that's why emulation's weird and the the the
67:10 truth of the matter is that even someone like Microsoft has to ultimately emulate
67:15 an older console unless they do what you
67:18 know Sony did with the early PS3s where they're just putting an emotion chip in
67:22 it and we saw how much that cost and how
67:25 they bailed on that like what was it months later yeah yeah those early
67:29 PlayStation 3s though are worth a lot of money because you can install Linux on
67:32 them and you can run them as like servers and stuff and you can emulate
67:36 old games and like yeah they're they're actually legitimately valuable people
67:39 are like backwards compatibility is just a number and I've got people in the
67:42 Twitch chat pointing out that the PC back has excellent backwards
67:46 compatibility yes it does it's amazing
67:49 whereas consoles it's just like random it's like
67:55 try putting a Nest cartridge into a Wii U um another thing uh Microsoft
67:59 announcement that I don't know if is in the dock is the Halo Master Chief
68:03 Edition did you hear about that at all
68:06 halo Master i don't think it's in the dock oh yeah yeah yeah yeah i heard
68:09 about that so we're getting a re-released what halos one two three
68:13 four three and four the numbered ones with Master Chief in it not the offshoots like ODST or Reach right um
68:19 it's it's it's interesting they're doing some cool things with it like the
68:23 remastered screenshots actually look really good right they're not changing
68:26 the mechanics and Halo 2 multiplayer is coming back which Halo 2 mi is coming
68:30 back halo 2 one Halo 1 multiplayer will exist on consoles we have to specify on
68:35 consoles because we were playing that like last week on PC um but it will
68:39 exist on consoles yay pc backwards compatibility
68:43 it actually runs better yeah it really
68:46 does and they're not going to like quote unquote fix things so like the pistol in
68:50 Halo 1 is still going to be massively overpowered which is great they'll have
68:53 an interesting They'll have a few interesting matchmaking modes like one where it's just all random so it'll just
68:58 cue you and you'll it'll like put your lobby and be like "Okay you're going to
69:01 play Halo 2 on this map." Nice and it'll
69:06 just launch that game and it can it can bounce around in between the games really well apparently it's supposed to
69:10 have seamless loading between games if you're going through campaign so like if
69:14 you finish Halo one it'll just be like you're now on First Mission Halo 2 nice
69:17 it just flows right through nice there's some interesting things so just like
69:21 when Arrested Development uh relaunched with all the all the episodes at once
69:26 and nobody slept it's going to be about like that I guess yeah yeah yeah i think
69:31 it would be interesting to play through all the campaigns and stuff back toback but like I don't see this selling Xbox
69:35 ones either i do 100% yeah i wouldn't buy an Xbox
69:41 One for it personally because if I had all these games I could just go back and
69:46 play them and the remastered thing is cool
69:49 ah being able to play online you've bought remastered games before yeah but
69:52 I haven't bought a console to buy the remastered games you know what I mean i
69:56 have definitely bought remastered games i actually do like remastered games i have no I actually really like that they
70:01 remastered Halo 1 and 2 i've bought remastered games
70:04 the the only thing that I could actually see them selling a console for is like Halo 2 multiplayer because remember how
70:09 big of a deal that was when they closed that down yep the guys that were like
70:12 refusing to shut down their consoles and people were like shipping them fans and
70:16 stuff to keep their consoles running like yeah shutting down the Halo 2
70:20 multiplayer servers was not a very cleancut decision so I think people are
70:24 going to be stoked that those are back i'd love to see them do this bundle on
70:28 the PC if they ask for if they ask for 60 bucks 75 bucks for it on the PC I'll
70:32 I'll pay for it i don't care 100% yeah that would be awesome preferably on
70:36 Steam that would be great yep no games for Windows Live
70:41 woo gets better and better all the time yeah yeah yeah someone Yeah someone just
70:45 said "Luke underestimates the nostalgia of Halo 2 multiplayer." Yeah i just had
70:48 that realization it'll it'll probably sell a console halo 2 multiplayer was a
70:53 really I played Halo 2 multiplayer so much ridiculous so yeah yeah it's a good
70:59 point speaking of uh speaking of new gen consoles let's talk old gen consoles for
71:03 a second uh I don't even know if this is really news but apparently uh Titanfall
71:08 runs at 600p at 46 FPS on the Xbox 360
71:13 so someone uh used uh capture device in
71:16 order to find out how many frames it was actually rendering so I thought that was
71:19 kind of interesting i was I was wondering it would it would be kind of
71:22 an interesting setup but it it'd be kind of fun to like benchmark consoles every
71:26 once in a while yeah because you can feel them chug you can feel them not run
71:30 at 30 or 60 FPS because they make these claims and I'm like well it's not going
71:33 to be a constant FPS anyways so when you're claiming this like craptastic
71:37 resolution and craptastic FPS is that
71:40 like when you're staring at the floor cuz who knows no in theory that's the
71:45 lowest dip right but it's there's no way
71:49 all right so this was originally posted on the forum by Dazed Cobra 42 and uh
71:54 this is something that some people think is no big deal other people think is a
71:59 huge deal and that is that Comcast is converting 50,000 home routers in
72:04 Houston into public Wi-Fi hotspots so
72:08 basically it'll only work if you're using your Comcast
72:13 uh wireless router modem combo unit and
72:17 whoever's accessing your router will not
72:20 be able to use up your data plan or see your home network but the idea is they
72:25 want to turn it into citywide Wi-Fi hotspots for their
72:30 customers apparently this is already a thing in other
72:34 countries and I' I've seen posts in the
72:37 thread on our forum where people are pretty positive about the idea and how
72:40 it works but one drawback that I can see is that
72:46 unless they're somehow managing the connection with
72:51 magic to ensure that my ping times in my
72:54 game don't get increased because someone is walking by you know u torrenting on
73:00 the sidewalk outside of my house if they can find a way that that doesn't happen
73:04 and they can't access my network and they can't uh utilize any of my monthly
73:10 bandwidth limitation then I guess I don't care i don't think any of those
73:14 things are going to happen and you can opt out okay you can opt out a lot of
73:18 people aren't going to know this is a thing but most people won't notice
73:23 at all so um this is super
73:27 dumb because like Yeah okay it's not going to affect your your your bill
73:32 but it's going to affect your availability but think about this okay
73:35 so as a Shaw customer or Telus customer or whatever you have at your place um
73:39 you want to tell us right okay so as a Telus customer if you
73:45 could you know let's okay here great example let's say E3 wasn't in um let's
73:51 say it wasn't in LA let's say it was in Toronto and or Okay I guess Toronto's a
73:56 bad example they don't have to tell us there okay whatever but point is what if E3 was in Vancouver so you're out of
74:00 your house you want to upload a video and public Wi-Fi is crap so it was what
74:06 i'm sorry it was public Wi-Fi was 100% so let's say public Wi-Fi was crap let's
74:09 say you're a Telus customer and all you have to do is walk down the street wait
74:14 to find another house that has a Teles customer in it beep beep boop and you've
74:17 got a solid internet connection where I can upload videos and destroy their
74:21 connection okay i didn't destroy it hold on i said "How would you feel about
74:27 being the person who has access to Wi-Fi hotspots everywhere?" I would feel good
74:31 and I would destroy that kid's internet who's just trying to play a video game
74:35 cuz that's why the public Wi-Fi there was terrible everyone was just trying to
74:39 upload stuff the whole time and it was bad i have a screenshot on Twitter of
74:43 our like estimated upload time 20,000 minutes from our hotel because the the
74:48 internet was just like nope so yeah your
74:51 your your your your bill isn't going to be worse the integrity of your data is
74:56 probably not going to be harmed the availability of things online is
75:00 probably going to have an issue and that's not okay in my opinion so Steph
75:04 says "The Comcast thing has been around in Belgium for almost a decade it has a
75:08 four user limitation and shaped traffic." Okay well those are things I
75:12 didn't know about okay but this is this is in Belgium this is not Comcast
75:15 comcast might implement it however they implement it but there's a precedent for
75:19 this oh and apparently it's nationwide
75:22 currently available for business class customers now it's going to residential so there you go interesting i mean as
75:28 long as it doesn't affect it I am pretty happy about it if I'm on one of these
75:33 things and it's available to me and I'm ever near someone's house I'm just going
75:36 to wreck their connection unless they unless it's unless it's shaped or
75:39 throttled so that you can't destroy it it's not going to be that helpful
75:44 unless all you need to do is like you know find a But then you should be using
75:48 your cell phone if you're just looking up a map or whatever okay well let's say
75:52 your cell phone's out of battery but you happen to have your laptop and no USB
75:58 cables and no USB ca No uh yes and no USB cables and no battery banks whatever
76:03 screw you um let's do a Twitter blitz let's do a
76:08 Twitter blitz let's let you guys tell us what you think of this are you okay with
76:12 your ISP allowing other people to use your connection as long as and this is I
76:16 guess they should use their quabillions of dollars and just set up proper public
76:21 Wi-Fi okay this is another thing that really bothers me remember when that story broke about the back doors that
76:26 were built into all these routers so if you're saying the integrity thing oh
76:29 they're not going to see your network someone's going to figure it out so if if it was
76:33 bulletproof then it's fine like if we were if we were talking like like two
76:39 separate you know firmware firmwares
76:42 running on the on like two separate storage devices on the router like and
76:47 they're like sharing two in sharing physical resources but otherwise a
76:52 completely different set of software then I'm like yeah okay whatever fine go
76:55 for it if we're talking about somehow
76:59 this can be exploited I'm I'm sure and there's got to be something in terms of
77:02 data sniffing because you're going on the same line i don't know i don't know
77:07 enough about that but when you're when you're on a different network because I
77:11 have to I don't I'm not sure how they're splitting it which is part of the
77:15 problem so Stefan says oops uh Stefan
77:18 says um connection is entirely separated from yours uh data plan wise also
77:23 bandwidth it's not necessarily like I don't know if they
77:28 can necessarily do that not not probably enough right because
77:34 like they're shaping it or whatever but is it giving 100% priority to the person
77:39 in the house 100% because we we utilize
77:44 our data connection here at Lis Media Group a lot so if this happened to our
77:47 router and we somehow didn't turn off the option thing if we didn't opt out we
77:52 instantly opt out but if we didn't we
77:55 would be we would possibly have issues if they had any percentage of the
77:59 connection right because we like we're in Canada we don't have that great of
78:02 internet and we we really utilize our internet connection that's another thing
78:06 if you have like a crazy pipe going to that house maybe it's not as big of a
78:11 deal um Alakan is saying that on Tech
78:15 Syndicate they were talking about Comcast using your electricity for this
78:19 yeah I get it but you're you're H it seems pretty negligible I mean yeah
78:26 they are it's not right and it's not it's not it's not right but it's not the
78:30 kind of thing that I would probably lodge a complaint with my you know local
78:34 representative about
78:37 um okay wow i got 36 responses now but
78:42 they should just have public router yeah exactly they they should be doing this
78:46 infrastructure on their own they shouldn't be utilizing other customers right nothing is bulletproof when it
78:51 comes to networking again I don't know how you're going to do it someone's
78:54 going to figure out some way wait where'd you where'd you get that up a little bit oh yeah nothing is
78:57 bulletproof when it comes to networking that's a very important point uh Sam
79:00 says "ISPs need to become less intrusive give us a good service and shut up we
79:05 don't get the water company calling us offering better water." You know what
79:08 Sam that is a retweet right there that
79:11 is the first time we have ever taken something on the WAN Show and it has
79:15 been so bang on that we have to tweet it immediately that was really good um they
79:21 need to ask and his last name is really close to
79:24 fluoride good no I don't care i'm not looking at
79:29 it fine that's not that close it's not close at
79:34 all i thought it was closer
79:38 anyways
79:41 you should test your XPS12 for image burn-in issue uh the image burn-in issue
79:45 is terrible on my XPS12 like like super
79:49 bad like I can see my desktop and I am in I am in metro mode so yes I'm aware
79:54 of the issue it's terrible it doesn't
79:58 really affect me using the computer and I still do like it comcast may be able
80:02 to increase your bandwidth if you're sharing a connection but I'm against this security breach imminent security
80:06 breach imminent no it's mine if you're giving me a
80:10 monthly discount to offer up my connection to others now we're talking
80:14 that's a good point Nathaniel and I could see but they're going to be like you get 50 cents or nothing or or lower
80:20 yeah nothing um they have their own hotspot infrastructure yep which is what
80:25 they should be doing tom asks "How's your experience with the Pebble Steel going?" Really like the ID it is It is
80:31 much nicer looking in my opinion than the old Pebble that I had you did order
80:35 one in bright orange yeah but it was
80:39 more about the bulk and the and the plastickiness this has a glass front
80:43 panel which makes a big difference to readability especially now that I've scratched the heck out of a plastic one
80:48 um and I think it just looks way more professional way more stylish i I'm very
80:52 pleased so far using the hotspot to download torrent and not using my
80:56 monthly cap yay you know what i got to wonder because Shaw has Shaw has public
81:01 hotspots and I wonder if it counts towards your
81:04 cap because you have to log into them and dodging uh touring stuff if you
81:10 pirateed on the public network using a Wi-Fi connection but if they are if they
81:16 ask you to log in with your customer ID the way that Shaw does then it'll Good
81:20 call that's even more trackable yeah yeah there's there isn't even any
81:24 plausible deniability like "Oh I didn't have my Wi-Fi network secured it with
81:27 someone outside my house um if anyone is using my internet I'll go completely mad
81:31 don't want people making me No no you don't pay for the other people to use your internet it doesn't work that way
81:36 it doesn't count towards your bandwidth limit i've been here for years in the
81:40 UK allow you to opt in oh so you have to
81:45 opt in to use other people's hotspots
81:48 okay that's kind of all right if it starts but you were talking you can opt
81:53 out this is a you would have to opt in like I like this system that's cool yeah
81:57 I like that swallox is not okay
82:02 hell no especially not considering Comcast's reputation yeah it's kind of a
82:06 That's like Yeah you have to assume anything coming out of there is going to
82:09 be terrible to find why it's terrible
82:12 it's usually not that hard though let's play the find why it's terrible game
82:18 featuring Comcast and EA
82:23 ea hasn't done anything that evil lately have they they probably I haven't been
82:27 paying a ton of attention there's probably been some all right well I
82:30 think that's pretty much it for the WAN Show guys oh right okay i'll let you
82:36 talk about Oculus again for a second this was originally posted on the forum by Top War Gamer and Facebook boss Mark
82:41 Zuckerberg sees Oculus as a chance to get the device into as many hands as
82:45 possible price be damned and he says uh
82:49 oh uh there's there's that quote saying the Oculus Rift will sell at the lowest
82:53 cost possible there's also Palmer saying that it will sell at cost what Palmer
82:57 actually meant by selling at cost was including things like bomb cost shipping
83:04 distribution all that stuff so like they're not looking to gain money off of
83:10 sales of individual Oculus they just don't want to lose they're not losing
83:14 money though mark Zuckerberg doesn't seem to give any cares no yeah lose all
83:18 the money put Oculuses in the hands of everyone um there's been a ton of stuff
83:22 coming out there was the interview that I had um where he was talking about how
83:27 um tons of people are working on input
83:30 stuff that's even not announced right and then there was another interview
83:35 where he actually like semi admitted to
83:38 Oculus working on other hardware that isn't the Rift interesting they're
83:44 working on their own input solutions they're working on all that kind of stuff they're also working on firstparty
83:48 games so developing their own games under Oculus and with recent hires like
83:53 one of the co-founders of Naughty Dog some people are expecting some like
83:58 pretty legit stuff so interesting things
84:01 coming out of there i would highly recommend to shill for myself and tell
84:05 everyone to go watch the Oculus video where I talked to Palmer about how 30
84:08 FPS gaming is pathetic yeah how cool was that for you that was really
84:12 cool that was awesome um highlight of
84:15 the trip yeah probably before that the highlight of the trip was control VR
84:19 which no one is watching um but then but then I got to talk to Palmer which was
84:24 actually really really cool speaking of things um people should people should
84:28 watch the show's the show's kind of over at this point oh yeah yeah yeah um ASUS
84:33 North America so we just had uh we had a
84:37 video that we created for ASUS that they just launched on their channel so you
84:42 guys should definitely go check it out oh put it all the sound hold on where is
84:47 it here we go here we go here we go i'm posting it in the Twitch chat right now
84:51 a couple people are saying that they watched it thanks guys i appreciate it
84:55 it's getting less views than our like totally unknown game indie content which
84:59 is like oh no that's not the one that Oh people are saying they watched your video okay the one that I'm posting is
85:04 um me and Luke having a night battle over the opportunity to uh to to like
85:10 win a notebook so it's like it's kind of it's kind of funny which is funny
85:13 because we both ended up with them yeah I know i never realized that part of the
85:16 story line that's awesome what is this all right
85:23 thanks for watching guys you know okay oh okay we should we should like end the
85:28 stream do do our intro thing end the stream and then start up an afterparty
85:31 afterwards because that's what we did last time and I know they probably didn't but I heard Taran plotting we
85:37 don't have any water this week
85:41 we need to We have moldy Twinkies oh my god
85:45 okay we definitely have moldy Twinkies Twinkies and Minecraft weapons
85:53 this could legitimately hurt someone yeah okay we're prepared you're more
85:58 prepared than me this could like actually damage them all right guys
86:02 thanks for watching we'll see you again next week byebye
