0:03 uh okay so have we actually been
0:06 streaming anything because we've been uh we've
0:10 been here the entire time live stream's
0:13 not on what the [ __ ]
0:17 um and I really don't know what's going
0:20 on because twitch is telling us we're streaming okay online online online to
0:26 be live back online how long were we gone
0:32 for okay so we're looking at the twitch chat right now like um how how long were
0:37 we how long were we gone for half an
0:44 what 26 minutes no way no way we just started
0:51 yeah I just saw Harrison he's watching he said you just
0:55 started we've been talking for like 25 minutes thinking we were live um uh here
1:01 is exactly what xplit looked like we
1:04 were we were streaming very much streaming and
1:08 apparently that was not U that was not a
1:12 thing that was working for us
1:15 so okay yeah apparently we were never
1:18 live but I thought I I thought I read someone saying something about something
1:23 that explains why when we were started already someone said we were one minute
1:26 late cuz I didn't think we were yeah
1:29 that's hilarious we were on time this week I know we were actually on time
1:34 this week so looking at um here sort by
1:39 sort by date where's our 2
1:42 one so we only have a five Meg file for
1:46 our initial attempt to stream I
1:49 think so we were live for oh no this is this is now that we're
1:55 back already so okay sorry guys um
2:00 you're on a weird scene there you yeah
2:04 we're here what have we talked about so far we talked about SSD update that we
2:09 filmed at work today okay well why don't we start with that because
2:14 like oh okay it's okay so here guys we're
2:19 sorry we're late we had no idea we were late we turned on streaming and then we
2:24 were like we were going so we weren't doing any Twitter questions or anything
2:29 like that we had absolutely no idea that
2:33 we were not live at any point in time during the last uh during the last 25
2:38 minutes so really really sorry about that uh let's go ahead and put Twitter
2:44 back up there minus the stream is not
2:47 streaming finally live uh okay so we'll start that explains why when I checked
2:52 um when you went to go get your boots I went up to check Twitter and there was
2:56 two tweets and I was like why aren't you guys tweeting lus everybody tweet lonus
2:59 and then no tweets came in right yeah
3:02 you know it's funny because I thought we had no technical difficulties tonight we
3:06 had audio working we had video working I'm actually getting kind of sick of
3:10 xplit xplit says it's streaming and just
3:13 isn't that's what pisses me off I mean
3:17 okay yeah we have 1,700 viewers now if I'd looked and seen that we had zero
3:22 viewers still 25 minutes into a live stream but sometimes it takes a really
3:25 long time to update right I mean I wasn't watching it and it sucks to be like oh is everything okay he oh yeah
3:30 it's okay and then keep talking like it should just
3:34 work the crazy thing is when I was doing that one little random streaming test
3:39 yeah um I had to start xplit and then
3:43 stop it and then start xplit and then it would work it would never work on we've
3:47 never had this problem before no I know but upstairs I see that's okay so those
3:50 of you who are wondering why we always have problems it's always a different
3:54 problem that's the issue every time we have a problem and we fix it then we're
3:59 like yeah we know for next time and then we're all like fist bump don't worry we
4:04 got this next time and then it's like something different like one of the days
4:08 um one of the one of the XLR uh what's one of the XLR inputs on the XA 10
4:13 camera is dead so one of the days that happened while we were trying to film a
4:17 live stream so we're like everyone's like no audio no audio the port died how
4:22 are we supposed to know we always use that Port the port died what do you want
4:26 me to do for reference it's the port that's closest to the back of the camera
4:30 by default you just shove it in that Port all the time because this makes most sense and it wasn't a software
4:34 thing we even had diesel look at it after the fact I mean that's part of the
4:38 problem too is it's usually me and Slick doing this not diesel so okay we had a
4:42 long day of shooting NC Tech tips today so we got a bunch of cool episodes done
4:46 one of them was we did a new SSD update so this time we're talking about the
4:50 Samsung 840 and the Samsung 840 Pro so
4:54 if you guys don't know already basically these ssds are balling um or less
5:00 balling but like a good value um so the
5:03 840 Pro is pretty much as fast as it gets it's got a fiveyear warranty um it
5:07 sat a top our performance charts y if I recall correctly uh and I mean it's just
5:12 it's Samsung everything about it is Samsung so there's an inherent sort of
5:16 trust level there I think that comes along with that and it just straight up
5:19 looks good oh yeah Samsung's really good at making good looking stuff and their
5:23 ssds are just beautiful yeah it's just like got a nice uh sort of metal finish
5:27 on it and then it's got one orange spot and and black and orange is like pretty
5:33 that's sort of pretty boss yeah it just looks good yeah and then the 840 what's
5:38 special about that is not so much the performance Crown it still performs
5:41 really well but it's the first consumer SSD to use TLC flash now TLC flash was
5:48 traditionally USB drive territory because it wasn't reliable enough to use
5:53 in a performance application so while it does suffer a bit in terms of right
5:58 speeds are you just checking the uh twitch chat uh yeah oh crap we don't
6:02 have an echo do we it doesn't look like
6:07 it okay are you sure doesn't look like
6:10 it okay because I see a thing here that
6:14 AIO oh nothing we can do about audio pops right now I don't think hello
6:18 everyone um so it's the first one to use TLC flash which means that higher higher
6:22 densities um lower prices in the longer run as well as Samsung's claim that what
6:28 they've done with this drive is they validated TLC flash to the point where
6:32 it's usable in a performance application so read speeds are still outstanding but
6:36 WR speeds are a little bit slower however the thing to be aware of is that
6:39 if you're a gamer or a general desktop user the odds that even 20% of the
6:47 operations that you do on an SSD are rights it's like that and most of your
6:52 rights are going to be big ones like games or programs yeah where it's like
6:56 okay um so okay a disc a long discuss we
7:00 had before we realized absolutely nobody was watching it was uh Slick's challenge
7:05 to me that I should tell him my favorite
7:09 piece of what okay software well we were talking about random stuff and I kind of
7:13 we were talking about ssds so whenever I talk about SSS I'm thinking about new
7:17 computer builds so what one I would want to put in different price computers and
7:20 whatnot whatnot so then I started thinking about Nite and Nite is my
7:23 favorite program so I asked him what his favorite program was well hold on what you said before was piece of software
7:28 yeah I M n night is not really a piece of software it's a script would you call
7:32 a a piece of software would you call a script
7:36 software oh come on that's like me saying that I had a really cool uh you
7:41 know washing machine because it has like a programmable cycle and so that's my
7:46 favorite piece of software is the software on the washing machine okay
7:49 that's completely different how is it completely different All Nite does it's
7:53 not just a script also how is it not just a script they program in specific
7:57 stuff for each one that's why they don't just have a bajillion you could have a
8:01 script that programs in specific of course it has script but there's also
8:06 core software to it a UI is not a script
8:09 okay but an installer is not necessarily A UI there's still a UI to
8:15 it I think the I think the I think the washing machine example holds because
8:19 that software someone coded it it's not
8:23 just peer scripts it has a UI okay so is your favorite program your washing
8:27 machine my clothes wouldn't be clean without it is your favorite program your
8:30 washing machine no but that's my point is your favorite program can't be Nite
8:34 any more than my favorite program can be my washing machine that's ridiculous
8:37 it's not ridiculous come up with a real program it's a program why don't you
8:40 think about one that's like a legitimate program you
8:49 programista okay cuz you asked piece of
8:53 software yeah I would not consider like
8:56 the uh you know the macro functionality on a mouse to be a piece of software
9:02 okay whatever piece of software the connotation of it is I'm holding n night
9:05 I'll show my other one that I showed when we weren't streaming to anyone
9:09 but and that's just a function that's
9:12 like a feature of another piece of softw then I like you know what fine my
9:16 favorite piece of software is Windows Home Server because unlike pretty much
9:21 anything else it actually legitimately made my life better it allowed me to
9:24 take sort of random hard drives like really random I think I even had 120 gig
9:30 drives in it before I knew you really yeah like really old stuff that's pretty
9:34 legit yeah like I had yes I did I had two maxart Diamond max NES that's the
9:39 only drive I've ever killed was a maxart that was the one that slipped out of my hand oh nice okay well these were these
9:45 were old drives these were SATA 1 back when instead of it being a native SATA
9:49 controller SATA drives were just IDE drives with a SATA Bridge chip so so the
9:54 actual performance bottleneck that didn't exist even then I mean at 133 is
10:01 still almost fast enough for any modern Drive something like a wd green 3 tbte I
10:07 I think Peaks at 125 megabytes per second reads and writes ATA 133 is you
10:13 and the ridiculous thing is that we replace it with SATA and then now SATA is almost done but it's because of ssds
10:18 I mean uh ATA would have been held back big time by SD course but it's just
10:22 funny how fast that would yeah st's hilarious it's like SATA
10:26 150 ATA 100 33 yay same thing uh so
10:32 anyway I had those in there so what Windows Home Server was was it was a way
10:36 you could mix and match drives and have safe redundant storage so I and I tested
10:41 it time and time again because I kept using like random old crappy drives and
10:45 refurb drives in it and I kept failing but I kept not losing any data because
10:49 of the way that the drive pool worked um it was an easy way to manage all of your
10:54 computers remotely so you could just have one port open UPnP sets it up for
10:58 you you don't have to think about it versus the amount of dinking around in
11:02 your router and in your os's or
11:05 installing you know different applications on the computers for remote
11:08 access don't have to worry about any of that it's just all Native remote desktop
11:12 connection and it just splits everything out from the one computer and the web
11:16 portal for accessing your files from anywhere so much better than most nases
11:19 any Nas pretty much that in my opinion was the coolest part just the fact that
11:23 it worked just like browsing a folder in Windows and then you transfer files and
11:29 I mean the only thing I didn't like is if you had a really really big transfer it just
11:32 said like transferring files and gave you no bar so you had no idea how long
11:38 far along it was part of the problem was that at the time slick was using the
11:42 Windows Home Server to upload completed Tech tips episodes off of my horrible AR
11:47 52 kilobit up 50 five 50 kilobit
11:51 50 that was the really really old one we had we've had two step UPS since then
11:56 are you sure that's when we were on Tellis we've had two step UPS since then
11:59 that's oh that's awful then we moved to Shaw we got to whatever and then we yeah
12:04 so not having a progress bar would have been a problem yeah cuz it would take
12:07 like the entire night right to upload one video like literally it would take the entire night to upload one video or
12:11 an entire day I mean on the topic of nases especially back then even a
12:15 gigabit Nas was going to do 20 30 megabytes per second file copies whereas
12:20 a Windows Home Server it's a freaking computer it's fast so it yeah takes
12:25 takes care of that stuff all right you can show them what you think passes for
12:29 this is cool software anyone who does um any web development stuff will probably
12:34 appreciate this um if you just go into web developer on Firefox go down to
12:40 their inspect tool this will be a little bit more I'll go to yeah go to The Forum
12:45 yeah me one
12:49 second something that has actually more things on the
12:54 page it's going slow why are you going
12:57 slow right now haha someone's saying e Firefox in the twitch chat you just got
13:02 burned whatever you got burned like fire
13:05 whatever but you're pretty foxy all right so if you go into inspect
13:10 view most people if you work with web stuff will know what inspect view is so
13:14 you can see all the different elements then if you click on 3D
13:17 view you can see all the different elements instead of just highlighting
13:22 them you can actually see how they stack on each other and you can click on each
13:25 individual WAN Show them that module where you figured out that it was was
13:29 just like a huge problem because it was like a bajillion dependen that's changed
13:34 has it changed yeah okay see it's not ridiculous anymore okay so you can see
13:38 if a module like if if it's going to be easy to repair something because you can
13:42 see how many dependencies each of the things on the page actually has well
13:45 it's it's just easier because you can see like what inheritance and you can
13:49 see exactly which element it is and you can like jump into this and that's okay
13:52 that's span. Ma so I can go and find that super easily now and change things
13:57 and do whatever I want that's just kind of f it looks kind of cool that's really
14:02 the main reason why it's awesome I'm not even going to try and hide that it just
14:07 looks really cool it's like look I can do this it's really not like yeah I
14:12 don't know it's not exactly needed why don't we do a little bit of Twitter
14:15 questions since apparently that was a big problem for us last time if we'd
14:19 been doing freaking Twitter questions we would have known that the stream wasn't
14:23 working at all uh so someone says you're
14:26 sexy I'm with Thomas on this one
14:30 um what do you think about the rumors of NVIDIA not allowing non-reference boards
14:34 for gk10 why does NVIDIA hate overclocks NVIDIA doesn't hate overclocks NVIDIA
14:38 hates dead chips because people overdo it that's what NVIDIA hates which I
14:43 don't like I don't like dead chips either that's not what I meant I don't
14:48 like that they're stopping progress okay new gpus are progress yeah
14:54 but limiting people's overvolting capabilities is not progress in my
14:58 opinion I want want to have fun with my stuff I don't want to just buy it and be
15:01 like yeah my system how much fun is your stuff if NVIDIA knows that as the
15:05 processes keep shrinking overvolting is going to be more okay remember a GPU is
15:10 not like a CPU where you can do this to
15:14 it you can just be like oh yeah CPUs
15:17 lots more leakage with the new smaller process so we'll just put this on it and
15:21 then it's okay gpus you're limited to
15:25 this stupid horrible inefficient cooling
15:28 form factor where I mean putting a fan sideways on
15:31 something who who came up with this this is the worst thing ever and guys I know
15:37 that that's because this slot in type
15:40 form factor is not designed for video cards I know they didn't come up with
15:44 this because they thought it was brilliant they came up with this because it was a means to an end they had to
15:48 cool the cards somehow but I mean here
15:51 this is this is kind of a funny thing is people think that graphics cards output
15:56 output like shed loads of heat because they run really hot they don't if you
16:02 actually take a like if you take a cooling Loop like in the swifttech suite
16:06 where uh where Gabe from swifttech had a CPU what was it two gpus I think so two
16:12 gpus didn't he do must cooling no no that was a different build a different
16:16 system yeah okay I think he had a CPU and two gpus in the one at the end of
16:19 the table yeah he had two crazy ones I just always get them mixed up so he had a CPU and two gpus and the actual
16:24 coolant temperatures were only like 4° higher and that speaks to the efficiency
16:28 of the h 220 liquid cooler for one thing but it also speaks to the fact that even
16:33 though gpus run hot that is not the same thing as outputting a lot of heat if you
16:38 guys sort of understand like if you were able to put a cooler like this on a GTX
16:43 680 I guarantee you it would run cooler than a 3570k so part of the problem is
16:48 the form factor that they're stuck in um where it's yeah they can't just throw
16:52 more cooling at the problem so I understand their perspective there bam
16:59 care fine be like I mean I don't I don't
17:03 want to see us stuck with reference boards which like if those rumors are
17:07 true that's what we're getting to and while I would
17:11 prefer uh an NVIDIA reference board to an AMD reference board from what I've
17:15 seen in the past three generations I would still like to give guys like ASUS
17:21 the ability to release you know balling Republic of Gamers stuff and I'd like to
17:27 see guys like MSI releasing lightning cards and uh I mean that yeah that that
17:33 particular reference board is not my cup of tea the 670 reference board actually
17:38 has more coil wine and just sort of is
17:42 generally like really pathetic looking compared to the
17:45 681 um yeah it it does make more noise
17:49 not going to be too stoked if they keep going in that direction but um yeah
17:53 Slick's hair explain now I got it cut that's horrible what hey slick are you
17:58 into Linux I think he means lonus and yeah he's super into
18:02 me it's a typo I'm not super good with
18:05 it but I try and it's really cool and it's fun and come
18:10 closer why just the framing is weird Okay I'm going to move over too I'm not
18:14 I don't just want to be close I was like what um yeah Linux is really cool I just
18:19 wish I was better with it uh OBS stream software yeah I've
18:25 heard of it I can turn down the mic a little um we can you know what
18:30 I can just not yell much that should be fine uh shout out to the lus tech tips
18:34 for a mod team yaych speaking of the Forum we actually
18:38 haven't had any downtime this
18:42 week that I knew
18:46 about when did we have downtime it just
18:49 kind of flickered out for a little bit I don't know if very many people actually noticed at
18:53 all no big deal it came back it's okay
18:59 okay well the forum's been way more stable we've stopped rolling out every
19:03 Beta release of V bulletin 5 that sort of comes across our inboxes that wasn't
19:08 why the form went down I know but it couldn't have it was probably stable you
19:12 know what I uh don't want to talk about it but when the when the when the
19:18 release that fixes the uh the pages comes out we're going to go pretty hard
19:22 for that one we're going to test that one in development and then we're going to hopefully release that one most of
19:26 the other ones were kind of ignoring because a lot of the fixes while they would help are not that
19:32 substantial and bringing down the Forum to put it live and then running into
19:36 problems while we're trying to update because everyone runs into problems while they're trying to update V bolon 5
19:40 right now and then finally getting it live and then running into XY and Z
19:45 errors that we haven't seen before and all these people freaking out because
19:48 yeah something doesn't work like that's not really worth it right now where we
19:52 feel that most of our users on the Forum are at least getting used to the bugs
19:56 that are happening and people are finding own kind of workarounds and we
19:59 posted a work around for one and like it's
20:03 becoming there we go that's more like it
20:06 doesn't matter don't worry about it oh my goodness I'm still taller than
20:11 you there you're sitting up all straight
20:14 I can sit up straight too I'll just move closer to the camera there we go this is
20:19 how they filmed The Hobbit apparently they just had a bunch of people standing closer to the camera see we could make
20:24 me look like a giant and Slick look like a [ __ ] that's kind the lighting's all
20:27 weird when you face it they can tell and they also can tell that you just put my
20:31 chair all the way to the bottom and the bottom of my chair the top of the like
20:35 seat part of my chair they can't see that is at the bottom of his that's
20:39 that's the smoking mirror like that much further down than
20:42 his uh what were you what were you talking about sorry something about how
20:46 the Forum went down and it's all your fault you're fired uh mods have been
20:52 great thanks literally everyone on The Mod team that's been awesome we might
20:55 actually have some cool new stuff to talk to the mod team about yeah at some
20:59 point we're not going to talk about that now though top secret for now yeah but
21:03 that could be really fun but I'm not going to say what it is that could be like actually kind of the best thing
21:07 ever that was a good idea at first I didn't think it was it's
21:11 a great idea everyone's just wondering what the heck we're talking about now um Everyone by the way if you see stuff
21:16 like that's in the wrong form if you see stuff that's bad there is the flag tool
21:19 at the bottom of the posts that is one of the things that works yes right now
21:23 unfortunately there's only two people that see it only the admins can see the
21:26 flags so not the whole team gets to see the flags so it will possibly take us a
21:31 bit because we're working on other stuff whatnot but I will I do get to all the
21:35 flags that get posted so if you post the flag I will get to it uh just found out
21:40 my WD green external can copy uh
21:44 7 okay where the heck is the thing oh oh
21:48 yeah USB 2 that's that's about the max it can do is 35 megabytes per second so
21:53 I'm pretty sure that's what you meant uh what's the difference between SASS and
21:56 SATA that's one of those if you don't know you don't really need to know kinds of things U SAS has some more Enterprise
22:01 level error correction built into it um it plays nicely more nicely with things
22:06 like back planes that'll split it out yeah yeah like SATA supports simple Port
22:10 multipliers but some of the more advanced functionality is um you have
22:15 one of SAS actually yeah I've got I've got a
22:18 SAS he's got some nice SAS Splitters so
22:21 we'll get one of those that'll show one of the things that you can actually do
22:25 with it which is actually really cool yeah SAS is uh SAS supports not only
22:30 sort of splitting out to individual what appear to be SATA connectors uh from
22:34 something like an sff 887 which is what this connector is but it also supports
22:39 direct 887 connections to like an 887
22:43 compatible back plane and things like that so SAS is uh is more server
22:48 professional Enterprise level technology whereas SATA is more for Consumer level
22:52 um they not actually any difference in terms of the speed so don't worry about
22:56 it Is WD ever going to enter the SSD Market
23:01 um I would expect them well they already have like two years ago or whenever it
23:06 was when they released um I don't remember what it was called it wasn't very successful weren't they wasn't
23:12 there t hold on um that whole uh
23:15 presentation that we attended was n not talking about that oh okay go ahead uh
23:19 weren't there like a ton of rumors that they were going to acquire ocz there for
23:23 a while or was that Seagate no that was Seagate oh okay yeah because like is it
23:27 Seagate that's actually like thinking about getting into the SSD game or is
23:31 that WD seate I had a call with them but my entire call is under NDA so I can't
23:35 actually talk about this topic but he doesn't know so he can talk about it as
23:39 much as he wants but he doesn't know so there's nothing to say yeah yes there
23:43 was tons of rumors when ocz was kind of in the dumps there for a bit that Cate
23:46 was going to acquire them Ted says nice Bieber haircut Bieber I don't even know
23:50 what my hair looks like no Bieber has hair like that now like this you
23:53 basically look like Justin Bieber that's unfortunate too bad you don't sound like
23:56 he's like half my size and sounds like a girl he's so
24:01 dreamy you disgust me trade-offs between multi and single rail power supplies I
24:05 think we've covered this before so I'm going to leave that one um okay okay
24:10 okay we're risking it we're risking it oh yeah that I do look dodgy and you do
24:14 look like you're thinking really hard about something thinking long and hard you
24:19 know what was really creepy I showed lonus this the face swap post on the
24:23 Forum oh that is oh God that is just
24:26 awful here what I'm going to go find it
24:30 Tech just unsettling just face swap it's
24:35 just weird Okay so yeah here it is guys this
24:39 is the Linus and Slick face swap thread
24:42 yeah yeah I'm working on it so this is just like I I don't know
24:47 why it's so creepy but it really really is seems really slow right now yeah I
24:52 know why is the farm so slow slick way to go maybe you could get me actual
24:55 hosting maybe you could be not running me on B a
24:59 software uh maybe you can give me an actual server you know what that server
25:03 is not bad yeah that's true that's like
25:06 it's a 980x it's not a bad server by any stretch of the imagination and it has
25:11 like baller 40 48 gigs of RAM yeah what
25:15 48 gigs of non ECC RAM but speaking of
25:19 things that are optimized for server and professional applications and and not
25:24 that not optimal for not the like what are they they're rip jws right
25:28 uh yeah they're G skill rip Jaws okay so the Forum is just apparently not working
25:33 at all no no wait there go oh no wait
25:36 yes wait
25:40 slow is everyone hammering the form because we're talking about it in the
25:43 live stream oh God is it just down yeah
25:48 weren't we just talking about how it's not down
25:53 yeah is it down or timing out it's timed
25:57 out uh check the twitch chat is anyone on
26:01 the Forum like was it up recently A lot of
26:06 people are saying it's down was it up recently
26:09 guys ah you got to be kidding me well
26:13 that's depressing okay well I guess you guys
26:16 will have to just trust me when I say that it's creepy and uh you'll have to sort of
26:23 look into that so I guess we'll move right along in terms of our discussion
26:26 topics ah yes my personal rig is finally
26:30 going to be having some progress made on it so I got a confirmation from Mountain
26:34 mods that I am going to be getting my case back next week so I sent it down
26:40 there for Powder Coating it actually was a little bit trickier to do the powder
26:43 coating than they initially thought so they had to um okay the first time I
26:48 sent my tj07 to them I had the
26:51 anodization left on the side panels and
26:54 on the unibody frame because it was beautiful it was immaculate it was brand
26:58 new so I only sent them the internals to powder coat with their black wrinkle
27:02 however this time around because I've had my case for a long time now and it's
27:06 gotten kind of beat up and scuffed and scratched and the side panels have that
27:10 that hairline brushed aluminum finish that I love but is extremely susceptible
27:17 to staining like if you just touch it and you don't wipe it off immediately
27:21 then it'll just leave a stain of a fingerprint that etches itself into the
27:24 aluminum and you can't get rid of afterwards so I had that all over it so
27:27 I was like okay screw it I'm just going to powder coat the whole thing this time
27:31 so I sent them the entire case and I'm actually uh what's going
27:36 on okay slick just like barreled out of
27:39 here so uh I have no idea what's going on but whatever it is is sort of a big
27:44 deal apparently so anyway my case um was
27:48 stained to crap so I sent them the whole thing I'm actually replacing so not only
27:52 the finish on the entire thing it's going to be black wrinkle um but I'm
27:55 also replacing the side panel window so instead of using a piece of acrylic
27:59 which is just horrible like acrylic scratches by the time you actually peel
28:03 the plastic cover off of it most of the time and because it's such a static
28:07 magnet it's always got dust on it and it always kind of looks cloudy no matter no
28:11 matter what you try to do so I'm replacing that with glass as well but uh
28:15 anyway so Mountain mods found it was kind of tricky because they had to strip off the anodization and then the logos
28:21 on the on that case are actually done with a special epoxy like it's an opaque
28:26 epoxy there's a Silverstone logo at the top and then there's like a power
28:29 indicator at the bottom so they had to get that stripped off as well they had to I think they ended up sanding it off
28:34 just to get rid of it um there's a special remover for it and I know that
28:38 it's kind of out there in the forums but they're just painting the thing anyway so so they just scratched it then they
28:43 had to actually paint it and then once it gets back I'm going to find out if I
28:46 can even put the thing together because I remember having a conversation with uh
28:50 Charles from Murder mod back this must have been like four years ago four or
28:55 five years ago wow I've been doing this a long time anyway I had a conversation
28:59 with Charles from Murder mod back when he first started up where he said that
29:03 the issue with powder coating tj07 is that the um the tolerances can sometimes
29:08 be so tight on the side panels that once you add that extra bit of thickness to
29:12 the unibody in the side panel you actually can't Mount the thing on
29:16 anymore so I'm uh I'm a little bit worried that that's what's going to
29:22 happen to mine but if it does I have a tj11 sort of on standby and I'll go
29:27 ahead and just kind of use that and I won't be too sad about it um
29:32 speaking of speaking of my personal rig actually this is really cool I wanted to
29:36 show you guys this uh we did an unboxing of this
29:41 Reservoir earlier this week so this will be coming soon but if you guys remember
29:45 I'm using one of the limited edition swifttech apple G HD goldplated blocks
29:51 they only made 2 200 um so ncx ordered I
29:54 think NCI placed the second order so NCI
29:58 got numbers UH 60 to
30:01 120 or something like that or like 60 60
30:04 to 100 or I don't know yeah 62 120 so I
30:09 got number 69 and
30:12 um I wanted to do kind of like a gold
30:15 themed build so I saw this and it kind of caught my eye it is a goldplated uh
30:21 cylinder reservoir from uh phobia phobia
30:26 so it's actually got goldplated Plus that come with it so I was thinking with
30:30 bits power goldplated compressions this thing would look absolutely amazing but
30:35 um I just uh I'm not sure is it something like this it actually like
30:39 it's heavy too so the end caps are brass unlike on the t- virus Reservoir where
30:44 they're made of acetal or delin or um
30:48 yeah acetal and delin are the most common names for it so it actually has
30:51 some heft to it which I kind of like comes with really really nice mounts so
30:56 most of these cylinder reses come with sort of cheesy Plexi mounts is it up
31:00 it's like bogged to all hell what's
31:04 wrong with it I think it might be running a timed backup oh because they
31:09 run on hour based Cycles not like this time every day because we wanted to have
31:14 more backups because of last time that we lost post so I think we hit a really
31:19 bad time because we started talking about stuff in the Forum so everyone hit
31:22 it so it's backing up the database and people are hitting the database so it's
31:26 just like so if the database ran on like
31:29 SSD then would it just well one of the things that we're thinking about doing
31:33 is making a dedicated MySQL computer
31:36 right okay this would kind of help with that kind of stuff okay yeah CU see I've
31:41 just been killing time here I started talking about a reservoir I had nothing I was like I was
31:46 like whatever he's doing it looks really urgent well I started pinging uh i p i
31:52 pinged other boxes that thought I thought maybe the Chinese guy was back
31:55 or something oh God did we ever talk about that I don't I think so we got
31:59 attacked by a Chinese guy a Chinese hacker yeah he's a ninja that was nuts
32:04 and then the well you haven't even talked about why it's nuts because
32:08 anyone can sort of be a script Kitty but this guy was like serious business this
32:11 guy knew what he was talking about what happened uh we just got absolutely
32:14 hammered like harder than we've like
32:18 we've had a few different dos attacks before we got the nice firewall and then
32:22 this guy just crushed us like it was ridiculous and we weren't really getting
32:26 touched by him at all like those was going fine it was just like in other
32:30 cases it kind of like sped up I think people were using uh like ly and stuff
32:34 which doesn't seem to all hit all at once but this guy was like prepared and
32:38 angry I mean what kind of gear do you figure he had a lot I don't know exactly
32:43 what he had but a lot so how far did he get he was he was sshing into our Linux
32:49 box which means he was trying he was like getting yeah trying to remote
32:54 connected into our box which is like not cool and what's the point there's no
32:58 data on it that's like helpful yeah I guess anyway the point is we have a
33:02 baller firewall now and he's tried again since then failed and the firewall
33:07 basically gave him the old nope no thank
33:11 you please sir thank you bye so get out
33:15 see you later alligator that was cool actually yeah that's kind of neat um so
33:21 where were we ah yes okay I wanted to do a model numbers rant um that's not
33:26 really related to anything so bring up those ssds again uh okay I'm going to go get
33:31 another SSD that's somewhat related to this red why am I bringing these up
33:35 particularly okay here here's another one
33:39 okay so product naming consistency this
33:43 drives me crazy this is a Samsung
33:48 830 this is a topof the range
33:51 performance drive that is as As Good As
33:54 It Gets from its generation I know where you're going with this this is a Samsung
33:58 840 this is a Mainstream
34:03 Drive okay this is a Samsung 840 Pro
34:08 this is a topof the range performance Drive why isn't an 840 a continuation of
34:15 an 8:30 why isn't this called the
34:20 740 I mean that's okay here this is this is what makes me crazy and it's not just
34:24 them the graphics cards guys do it everyone does it if you have a number
34:29 based naming scheme scale as you go to
34:32 the right why not just change the number and make it different like okay out of
34:37 all the numbers out of all the numbers between zero and a th Samsung has used a
34:42 grand total of I think four of them why not just call it an 840 and an
34:49 835 or like a 720 or u i mean they can't
34:54 use 520 because Intel used that yeah and then there's Intel's numbers which are
34:58 just random who cares like the five it's a 520 it's a 330 and then a 335 I think
35:05 is just a 330 with like a die shrink or something like
35:08 that and isn't faster yeah like at all
35:12 and actually you know what no NVIDIA has been sometimes really good and sometimes
35:17 super inconsistent like I don't know if you remember when they pull okay this
35:21 wasn't as bad as what they skipped 300 yes which just like still blows people's
35:25 minds skip 300 outright like I always I
35:28 actually make mistakes when I'm talking about how many generations apart
35:32 graphics cards what what happened there
35:35 they skipped they completely skipped 300 and then 200 to 400 was a huge
35:40 generational leap that could have I mean do you think they had a product and then
35:45 just didn't release it but then why wouldn't you just name the new one 300
35:49 and like okay and what's up with NVIDIA and sometimes releasing a flagship
35:53 product that is an ultra and sometimes releasing a flagship product that is is
35:58 a that one five H and then like what
36:01 happened to all the differentiation between GTX and GTS and GT what happened
36:04 to gx2 yeah now that's just a 90 yeah
36:09 right so it just floated all around they're just and although I think AMD
36:12 was probably the worst one when they went from a
36:16 6970 being a topof the range single GPU
36:20 to a 6990 being a dual card to a set no wait
36:25 which one when 5870 right 5970 was a
36:29 dual GPU card right
36:32 6970 was a top-of the range single GPU
36:35 card actually never really even thought about that and then it was a 6990 it's
36:39 like so there's a 20 digit like like 20
36:42 number separation between a 6970 and a
36:45 6990 when a 6990 is actually two
36:50 6970 before that it was 5850 5870 same
36:55 kind of thing and then it was a
36:58 um 5850 was it hold on
37:03 5970 wasn't it oh crap now I don't remember Microsoft's really bad for it
37:07 too operating systems I'm just confused see but this is the kind of confusion
37:11 that comes around operating systems go back and
37:14 forth in between letters and XP and
37:17 years and then digits and it's like what
37:22 and instead of having two digits we're going to have one digit yeah and you go
37:25 from like like years to like random
37:29 small letter combinations to Vista which is a word and then number it's like nope
37:35 back down to single number it's like what what are you doing like why can't
37:39 they just make it simple for the consumer it's like this is the you know
37:43 ballist thing you know
37:46 250 and that's better than the ballist thing
37:50 200 I don't know even though I don't like them Apple does pretty okay they
37:54 just don't care Oh iPad
37:58 no no iPad you know it kind of drives me
38:01 crazy cuz I was listening to the radio and they were doing a giveaway for um
38:05 for an iPad with retina display I was like which
38:10 one which iPad with retina display that's fantastic I love how they just
38:14 don't care no it doesn't have a name and like the worst thing about iPad 3 versus
38:18 iPad 4 is that the differentiation between these two products is so small
38:23 and so insignificant that like and and like the general consumer so doesn't
38:29 care about an A6 or an A8 or an a25 or
38:33 whatever chip happens to be in it that it's just like they're like iPad with
38:37 retina like it used to be that you could go iPad iPad 2 okay iPad with retina now
38:45 it's like iPad with retina like there's
38:48 there's no killer feature where you can go yeah this is like the one and then
38:52 but on iPhone they number them except when they put an S on it so anyway
38:57 naming schemes if anyone out there is listening everyone who comes up with
39:01 naming schemes that make no sense is uh
39:04 is just like needs to not do that
39:07 anymore um speaking of naming schemes
39:11 that make no sense in Windows operating systems Windows Phone 8 actually that
39:15 makes perfect sense total sense yeah I know don't worry about it so I now have
39:21 not only the HTC 8X but I've also got my
39:24 hands on an 8s and I just want to say for those of you who have been enjoying
39:28 my I switched series of videos where I'm logging my Impressions not necessarily
39:33 as a total expert cuz people have been like hardcore criticizing the videos
39:38 going he doesn't know what he's doing yeah that's the point I don't know what
39:41 I'm doing I'm not a phone guy I'm giving you my experience I personally did not
39:47 find it intuitive to go into my contact list like this and okay I find scrolling
39:53 intuitive I find scrolling on the right hand side like it's done in iOS and
39:57 Android intuitive I do not find it intuitive to click this number sign here
40:02 and have that bring up a menu of numbers
40:05 that I can SK or letters that I can skip to I haven't seen this yeah this is a
40:09 button how was I supposed to know that I asked you what that was I was like you
40:13 have a contact that doesn't have a name well yeah but it's just their headers so
40:18 you can click any one of them I but I when we first started looking at your
40:21 phone I was like why do you have a contact that doesn't have a name right so anyway I didn't figure that out
40:25 that's so Rand another thing that I didn't but to me that okay yes you could
40:29 go lus you didn't do enough research on the phone I go well yeah but who does if
40:33 I'm approaching it as not a phone Enthusiast as just a general consumer
40:37 the other one was I complained that notifications that come down from the top don't go away you can't just click
40:41 out of them and so for me as a Windows user if something pops up my first
40:46 reaction is just click somewhere else and it'll go away and it doesn't work
40:50 that way because what you're supposed to do is swipe them away to the right that
40:54 to me was not a natural Windows response
40:57 you're an Android User that makes sense but I'm an iOS user didn't know that so
41:01 anyway the point is most of the issues that I had have been resolved in a big
41:06 way and the 8S fixes my last problem
41:09 with the Windows 8 platform because it is significantly smaller so the issue I
41:13 have with the 8X is that I can't really
41:16 I can't really it's a little bit more slippery than the 8S and I can't quite
41:20 reach the far left side while holding on to the phone so the 8S is a 4-in screen
41:26 versus a 4.3 in screen so you can see it's quite a bit smaller and is much
41:30 more comfortable it also has a soft touch grip to the back and I can reach
41:34 all the way across of it across it so typing is much easier the one issue I
41:38 have with the 8S is that it's only a 4 gig phone so I'm going to see if all of
41:42 my apps fit on the 8S and then I might actually switch to it it's expandable
41:46 but you can't install apps on the SD card oh yeah it has a Micro SD whereas
41:50 the 8X doesn't have a micro SD expansion slot so there's sort of give and takes
41:54 to both of them and for those of you who are asking why I didn't get a Lumia 920
41:58 it's because I don't have a Lumia 920 HTC sent me these Windows phones in
42:02 order to do my Impressions so that I could so that I could make these videos
42:06 and I mean they knew that it wasn't necessarily going to be all roses about
42:10 the phones because I'd never used Windows Phone 8 before and self admitt
42:15 self admittedly not a phone guy I even told them I'm like I'm not a phone guy
42:18 why do you even want me to do this that part of the reason why they're like it's because you're not a phone guy we want
42:23 to find out from a non-phone guy how this whole experience goes and so uh so
42:28 yeah I thought that was pretty cool and I think as I get closer to the end of
42:31 the 30 days I'm going to be a lot more comfortable with it tell them what you
42:34 said today uh what did I say today when we were walking downstairs and you're like I think I might actually I may
42:39 actually switch Yeah so I'm getting to the point where I'm I may actually I may
42:43 actually stick with Windows phone and I'm not going Android this comes from
42:47 like a pretty hardcore Apple phone guy
42:50 yeah pretty I like iOS a lot yeah iOS is
42:54 good I still like iOS but you know what's funny is when I pick up my iPhone
42:57 4 it feels like a brick now because the 8X is so much bigger and so much lighter
43:03 and just like it's sexier and just kind
43:06 of better in uh in every way but yeah
43:09 I'm not going Android I know there's a lot of features that Android has but I
43:13 don't like the user experience sorry
43:16 part of that could be I've said this before but part of it could be because I'm more used to Android on tablet
43:21 that's where I've used it mostly and I've spent a fair bit of time on Android
43:24 in a tablet environment but I I just
43:28 don't want that for my phone for my phone experience we all know it's
43:31 totally different but he's just he's just a hater you know what entire
43:35 conversation is missing now we didn't talk about the Logan thing oh my God I
43:41 know we talked about this for like 10 minutes so Logan made a pretty bold
43:46 claim uh Logan from Tech Syndicate if you're not subscribed to Tech Syndicate
43:49 make sure you are uh it's youtube.com/ ra theor where the O in world is a zero
43:55 yeah um so he made a pretty bold claim that the 80
43:59 fx8350 uh pile driver core AMD processor
44:03 is just as good if not better for gaming in a lot of cases than the
44:07 3570k and the conventional wisdom on the internets has been if you're gaming get
44:12 a 3570k shut up about it and just go enjoy your processor so when you guys
44:17 brought it up on the live stream last week I had initially kind of went H poo
44:21 poo no it's not right and that wasn't because I was just being dismissive of
44:25 someone else's results we have tested those chips before um the last time we
44:29 did a head-to-head was with the 2500k and the
44:33 8150 but both of those are about 10%
44:36 slower than the processors that replaced them the 3570 and the
44:40 8350 and we did not have his experience
44:44 between those two chips at all and like we didn't run the same benchmarks that's
44:49 true we didn't run the same benchmarks the only one that we ran that was the same was Crisis and we had a very
44:53 similar output okay so that could be part of it
44:58 another part of it is that it came to my attention that Logan was using a
45:02 released and then retracted Windows 7 patch that looks like it optimizes the
45:07 uh scheduling of of processes across multiple cores better which would
45:12 obviously be an advantage for the 8350 versus 3570k which not only has half as
45:17 many cores well sort of half as many cores bulldozer modules are not quite
45:21 two Coes they're like one and a half course so it has fewer cores and it
45:25 doesn't even have the benefit of H threading like the 3770k does but the
45:29 3770k is in a different price bracket from an 8350 so we can't make that
45:34 comparison so we kind of went okay let's
45:37 take all this and let's put the Linus Tech tip spin on it so we're not going
45:41 to quite run the exact same thing as him the exact same way we took like I I sat
45:47 down and watched all his videos and took immense immense immense amounts of
45:51 notes I have like four or five pages worth of notes we paid attention and we're going to try and do our own thing
45:56 not copy but do own thing so we're going to do our own thing and we're going to take a slightly different angle so
46:00 number one our test platforms we're going to keep them as similar as possible we're going to run a 660 Ti
46:05 power Edition we are going to run did we decide on the amount of RAM what eight
46:09 gigs oh what RAM are we running oh okay we're running 16 gigs of uh of DDR3 1600
46:15 cl9 RAM so just like normal memory we're
46:19 running a Crosshair 5 formula and a Maximus 5 formula so the most upto-date
46:23 highest performance Rog boards for each
46:26 each of those platforms okay I guess there's technically a Maximus 5 extreme
46:30 but but like pretty bleeding edge full formula level boards um and we're going
46:36 to stick with 1080p because that's sort of our tradition most people still
46:40 aren't really running 1440p particularly Gamers if you're buying fast TN panels
46:44 or whatever else um those aren't really out there in 1440 I'm not trying to be
46:48 rude I'm talking to Mr Wizard about bringing the Forum up and stuff is it
46:51 still down it's it's kind of shaky okay so we're I'm I'm not trying to be rude
46:59 keep going keep going
47:03 no uh where was I right we're going to stick with 1080p one video card we're
47:08 going to run a variety of games and and our benchmarking settings for those
47:12 games will be very similar to tests we've done on those games previously
47:16 we're keeping our kind of style we're going to do our style so I think one of
47:19 the things Logan did was he maxed he cranked all the settings because he was
47:23 looking at it from a well okay if you've got all the processing power whether
47:27 it's an 8350 or 3570k we can all agree
47:30 that they're both beast that's fine if you have a high-end video card you're
47:34 probably going to crank up your settings however something that we've observed in
47:37 the past is that if you crank the settings completely to the max some
47:40 games just break so we've seen games where performance just falls off a cliff
47:46 disproportionately I've seen games where turning on anti-aliasing past a certain
47:49 point increases the input leg of the game engine itself to the point where
47:54 it's just totally unplayable so we're going to go for for that that sort of
47:57 that realistic yeah we'd actually play like this so if they if one wins over
48:03 the other it's probably going to be the difference between 45 FPS and 38 FPS so
48:07 we're going for that that playable range rather than just kind of tanking it as
48:11 hard as we can and uh and seeing what happens we are also going to shake up
48:16 one thing that Logan didn't do and we're going to change the OS up so we're going
48:19 to do Windows 7 without the patch that you have to get by specifically
48:23 requesting it because it was retracted we're going to do it with the patch on
48:27 Windows 7 and then we're going to do Windows 8 because Windows 8 should have
48:31 that that logic already built into it so
48:35 and we've been being I mean people have asked us how many times to do many
48:38 gaming on Windows 7 performance versus gaming on Windows 8 performance with the
48:42 same platform so in this case we're going to do that on Intel and on AMD
48:46 separately to say sort of once and for all does the OS impact the gaming
48:51 performance I can tell you guys right now it doesn't very much but we're going
48:55 to do a video about it anyway we're going to prove it there is some areas where it's better or
48:59 worse I've seen some other people's benchmarks not a lot you're right not hug no it's not huge but it's the kind
49:04 of thing you'd never notice unless you're testing side by side still interesting though okay interesting yes
49:09 so I I'll give it that it is interesting and I think you closed up the notebook
49:13 which is where I had my notes for what I wanted to talk about um okay is the
49:18 Forum up enough that we can show them the scary creepy thread now uh it's it's
49:22 kind of fluttering in a note we can try let's see if that one thread manages to
49:26 look load so everybody cross your fingers is the
49:31 form going to load and you know of course every time we talk about it
49:35 they're all going to let's just let it sit in the back okay here I have to go to the washroom so why don't you preview
49:40 this surprise you have for me show know what it is okay
49:46 okay so oh it's not loading at all is it
49:50 no it just totally failed okay so I
49:53 can't really show it too much cuz I don't want to take it out the box I ordered some stuff from China some
49:58 keyboard stuff um I got a ducky wrist
50:02 rest it's all leather and I'm not really usually a fan of wrist rest because I
50:06 don't really like the really jelly stuff but this one's very kind of hard but
50:11 then still comfortable so pretty stable about that I do not like rist rest but
50:15 I've been using this over the last little while and this is the only one I've had that I actually really like but
50:20 I've never had a really solid wrist rest before so not hitting on any other wrist
50:24 rest and then I'm a fan of keyboards and I wanted to get another one and I was
50:28 going to buy a filco Magis touch the the
50:32 uh you can find out it's on ntx it's a special edition one but it has yellow
50:35 key caps um and then I decided that I wanted to get a 10 keyless one and I was
50:40 looking around at different keyboards and decided that I might as well get a year the Dragon one from ducky you see
50:46 right there I'm not going to open it because I'm going to get him to do it um
50:51 so that's pretty cool I I kind of want to get a year of the dragon one because
50:55 uh they make year of the keyboards kind of Fairly consistently um and they're
51:01 always pretty cool and like this one's got a lot of cool features and it looks
51:04 really cool and they do their own little thing with it it's pretty awesome holy
51:08 crap I bought I brought some of the cool stuff that we're going to be checking
51:11 out soon on the channel so uh all of this arrived today which is kind of
51:15 sweet so we have a razor orb weaver on
51:18 hand we saw this at CES tell me slick
51:22 okay as someone who hasn't typically found I mean have you ever owned a ra
51:26 peripheral that you've used for an extended period of time technically yes
51:29 one one okay okay but in general not
51:33 really much of a razor guy tell me about this and my one razor thing I kind of
51:37 hate it okay and it's broken tell me about this um I hate these things not
51:43 like this one in particular but like these little game pads Gamepad things
51:47 I've never really okay seen the Intrigue about it but if I had to get one this
51:52 one just crushes all the other ones it comes with uh the word Crush like like
51:57 no competition oh um Cherry MX Blue key
52:02 switches all fully mechanical Gamepad
52:06 which I I mean makes it how much better than everything else just crushes I
52:11 don't like it's not even funny and like I still am not a fan of the platform I
52:15 don't like the idea I want my full keyboard but if if that is the solution
52:19 that you want that one is the one you should get I I'm like so excited about
52:23 this I mean we only got we didn't even get to play a game with it at CE yes
52:26 because it was just like on here if you want to hold it up that's probably helpful uh because it was just like now
52:33 I can't see it okay well whatever this thing um so we didn't get to play any
52:38 games because they just had it on demo like not actually running any games so
52:42 what could we do but um we I I got to be
52:45 Hands-On with it what was neat about it was it's adjustable enough like some
52:50 things like I would go as far as to say the rat is a little bit over adjustable
52:54 to the point where no one actually needs to do that well whatever I still think
52:58 it's cool okay fine it's no it's cool agree it's cool I don't want one
53:02 personally but I still think it's cool okay but this is adjustable enough to
53:06 the point where I can put my hands on it and it works slick put his hands on it
53:10 and it still works it's still usable no matter no matter how you're using it
53:15 it's fully programmable which is a requirement for something like this and
53:18 it actually has a lot of keys I mean you can complain all you want about how you
53:22 want your full keyboard but this thing has 20 Keys you have really big though
53:27 like I can't reach more than this many keys for sure like the size of this
53:31 thing I can't get any further over than that in all likelihood and the d-pad is
53:34 another big deal as well so I'm super excited to check this out and synapse
53:39 has been fixed now to the point where it works offline so yeah that that was done
53:44 pretty quick I hated on that pretty hard but they fixed that pretty quick so I
53:48 don't know okay so we've got an Acer notebook that just arrived uh so this is
53:53 an Aspire M touch which I hope is uh
53:57 something that we can talk about uh okay if if it's not then
54:02 hopefully no one from Acer is watching cuz I don't want to get in trouble and then this one is oh this I'm really
54:07 excited about this is an Aspire S7 13in
54:11 so I've checked out the 11in before that's the one with the aluminum top
54:15 that's got like a crosshatch uh brushed aluminum pattern on it and is super
54:20 light this one's a little bit heavier it's a 13 in but what's special about
54:24 this guy is the fact that it has um a
54:27 gorilla glass top and looks just absolutely beautiful like the Acer of
54:33 sort of you know thin plastic shells and
54:36 screens that Flex like this seems to have just been sort of dropped down a
54:42 hole and buried with uh with a notebook like this so I'm really really excited
54:45 to check it out I have not been Hands-On with the Aspire S7 13in yet oh I know
54:51 what these are and this I have a pretty good idea of what it is but we actually
54:54 haven't opened it yet this is from Corsair so let's uh go ahead and pull
54:58 out the old knifey but I'm hoping that
55:02 this is Corsair's uh this is Corsair shot across the bow of NZXT cuz NZXT
55:09 actually beat them to Market on a 140 mm
55:12 and 280 mm liquid cooler and it
55:17 is this is the Corsair h110 which is a large and I mean large
55:24 liquid cooler from Corsair it's it's got a 2X 140 mm fan cooling configuration it
55:30 uses quair link which I personally consider to be an advantage over the
55:34 Kraken software it's very comprehensive compared to what other guys have and it
55:38 integrates you know with all your other components which is part of what the
55:41 whole link messaging is about so uh I am
55:44 very very excited to put this on our standardized test bench which you can't
55:48 see but I'm touching right now I sure you it's right there and uh see how the
55:52 performance how the performance shakes down so that's some of the cool stuff
55:56 that we're going to have coming in the next little bit here and why don't you
55:59 go ahead and Blindside me with the surprise I actually legit have no idea
56:03 what's going on here it's probably stupid s thought it
56:07 was a good idea okay what is this what
56:10 is this well just this is separate okay
56:14 so this is a wrist rest yeah okay but I don't I'm not a huge fan of wrist rest
56:17 because I don't like really soft wrist rests this really hard though this is
56:21 like and then I don't like really crappy stupid plasticky wrist RS that usually
56:24 come with keyboards so this a very solid but very good wrist I wish the back was
56:28 grippier I do too and I think I might do some type of mod to change that the
56:32 first thing you have to do is I saw it in a picture and I was like oh that's
56:35 going to be grippy cuz it looks grippy cuz it looks super grippy but it's not
56:39 at all yeah okay there you go that's a better angle like it has like a texture
56:42 to it but it's it's more like plastic
56:45 yeah and I like I read I read up online and knew it wasn't going to be grippy
56:49 but that's okay I I'm sure I can do something about that you know what I have some um I have some neoprene yeah
56:55 if you if you like take that and then glue it on or something like that I
56:58 think I have some Thin neoprene by the way after the stream that would probably be perfect cuz like I knew I'd just do
57:03 something to that so this is a ducky dk98 did you actually order a new
57:06 keyboard when did you do this how do you have money for
57:10 this no offense just wait it's pretty cool okay
57:15 cuz I'm I'm not it's pulled out a sleeve
57:19 I pulled out let it like there's a black sleeve there's a black sleeve okay so I
57:22 have to enjoy the full unboxing experience cuz I'm not really a ducky
57:26 guide so I legit have no idea what this keyboard is but there's the there's
57:30 their branding on the front of it wow they actually do a really nice job with the packaging this is it's not a
57:35 standard one this is not a standard one it's a limited edition so ducky
57:38 channel.com dot okay how do you have money for this okay I can already tell
57:43 from like the way the box is uh is shaping up here that this thing's going
57:47 to be Baller in some way or another so here can you hold this so that they can
57:51 see and so that I can uh so that I can work on it here okay is this something
57:56 that I'm like legit going to have to try and Jack that is foam the foam doesn't
58:00 come out so you can take the individual things so there's a key removal tool
58:03 that comes with it okay so we the best kind you want we should have done an
58:06 unboxing of this but you can't really get them oh remember you can't how did
58:11 you get it uh you can't buy them from standard stores anymore if you go on
58:15 geek hack there's one dude that has a few left okay so there's a red WD keys
58:20 that are included as well as this the FH
58:24 like these Keys here here are because on the middle this is a year of the dragon
58:29 keyboard so 2012 so on the middle there's special keys that say 2012 so if
58:34 you want it to go fhdj you can replace it oh it's heavy I love duckies they're
58:39 so well built ducky and filco and uh Cooler Master and Cooler Master CM Storm
58:44 for that matter it's like awesome awesome wellb built stuff all right so
58:48 here it is the ducky year of the J Dragon Cherry MX Blue keyboard on the
58:54 back there's a uh there's a Mark that shows you which one it is out of however
58:58 many were produced it looks like so this is number 18 this is number 186 which is
59:04 obviously like meant to be for me because that's the year I was born
59:08 86 but uh okay so here's the uh here's
59:12 the 2012 sort of Year of the Dragon thing there so they've actually changed
59:16 the text here is this back lit this is backlit what color blue I guess we ohue
59:20 back blue backlit okay so we got it's got a whole bunch of different lighting
59:24 modes uh one of them is marquee is more just like you put it on a shelf and
59:27 people can see it CU it just looks really cool so you ordered this because
59:31 you didn't actually want so this is why you didn't even care if your old one
59:35 worked anymore no actually this is actually for um like I live at one place
59:41 and then I have my parents place right so when I go home on the weekends I use
59:46 this old gel cap keyboard that I used when I used to play
59:49 EverQuest so I go from my awesome ducky
59:53 where I live and then I have to use use
59:56 this old gelc keyboard when I go home so I wanted a smaller more portable
60:00 keyboard that I can have at home and that I can kind of haul around with me
60:03 there we go sorry that computer I plugged it into wasn't uh wasn't powered
60:07 on so oh looks like it's DOA oh wow that
60:11 is a nice color yeah and you can change the brightness levels up here and you
60:15 can change the modes so function key here's brightness
60:19 levels okay so it's got a number of different brightness
60:22 levels wow at its brightest that's really nice yeah really vibrant and then
60:26 there's your 2012 yeah and then they've got the dragon key right here which is
60:30 your function key they've got a custom key up here like is that like a fire
60:35 from the dragon or something I'm not even entirely sure but it kind of looks
60:38 like it it's not uh it's not consistent with anything that's on here that's the
60:41 dragon right there and then there's uh I don't actually know what this says but
60:45 it's Chinese writing I'm assuming it says you're the dragon sweet I don't know it wasn't
60:50 always really look at that back and forward oh these are media back and forward yes media back and forward this
60:54 is all media y and you get into
60:58 cm1 there oh cool because you can have
61:01 this is like or I don't remember actually how to do it you have to like hold something down for a certain amount
61:05 of time but it's just like the one we saw at CES with Corsair where you can
61:08 like tell it which ones you want lit up okay right uh the k95 from Corsair
61:15 allows you to just hold down a button and go yeah I want these ones lit and
61:20 these ones not lit so these are custom lighting patterns that you can have on
61:23 it that's why you can tell it's like striped here except for the 2012 which is solid so it's just supposed to kind
61:27 of look cool and then if we go uh here
61:33 off that zone like this is all just different lighting types oh that's cool
61:37 I these are just presets oh yeah so it's breathing right now breathing is pretty
61:41 cool hopefully they can see that I don't think they can see it but it's h it's a
61:44 pretty good effect and then uh I think
61:47 this is possibly the Marquee one okay no
61:52 here we go there we go that's Marquee so Marquee just kind of like shows it off
61:56 just wait a sec that's very cool it's
61:59 supposed to do like all the striping is it it might take a little while because
62:03 if it's meant to sit on a r it's meant to sit on a retail shelf when you're running it in Marquee mode right so okay
62:09 um there's one more I got to get it to
62:12 work sorry it's DOA why isn't it for what it's worth
62:17 guys his old ducky is still working as well uh it's plugged into a USB 3 Port
62:22 so that might be part of the flakiness the computer might have fully booted and now it's all acting up
62:26 um but the the mode that I'm actually most excited for is reactive type so as
62:31 you press down a key that key lights up oh really it's pretty cool that's kind
62:35 of ridiculous that's pretty cool and then on the bottom um there's actually
62:40 switches and this is how you set like you can disable your Windows key you can
62:44 swap your control and caps lock you can
62:48 disable uh something else I don't
62:51 remember where them on right now I'm on the spot so the old the old ducky is
62:54 going to go back to your parents house then probably cuz I'm pretty excited for
62:58 this guy and then this you can decide whether or not you want to put it on I'm
63:01 obviously going to put it on but it's a shield over top of this okay so I don't
63:05 even know why it comes off I don't know there we go that's Marquee so why 10
63:11 keyless um I already have a fullsize keyboard and then I have my Cooler
63:14 Master that's 10 keyless and remember when I thought my ducky was dead I used
63:17 my Cooler Master for a while yeah I kind of warmed up to it at that point I
63:21 realized that I I got a lot better at typing numbers up here I never used to
63:24 type numbers up there if I ever had to type a number I Dart over to the number pad and keep going okay so I got a lot
63:28 better at typing numbers up here and then this will be more like I go to the
63:32 island a lot okay whenever I shove my keyboard in my bag it sticks out the top
63:36 right and someone could just go and it freaks me out the whole time so this is
63:41 way easier for transportation how much did this cost I'm not going into that
63:46 this must have been at least 200 bones not going into that come on come on come
63:51 come on I could figure it out if I really needed to no I bet you can't find it
63:56 okay you might be able to find it in
63:59 this is one of those things like the MCB T balancer where I just don't want to
64:03 talk about how much it costs because it's embarrassing because it's just like
64:06 just stupid it's just stupid to spend this much money on it I got it
64:10 okay I want to show the reactive typing mode that's obviously not it that's not
64:14 it that's that might be it there we go
64:18 okay so it looks the keys light up there you go you can kind of see it now as you
64:23 touch them which is very very very cool
64:26 so compared to the electronics that go into most keyboards um this is some
64:31 pretty serious business PR stuff that uh that went on in this one so and it's
64:35 cool cuz it's limited edition and stuff that's always nice that's very cool okay
64:40 okay there's not many there's not many computer hardware swags that that I'll
64:44 get pretty jelly about but that's uh that's that's pretty cool and this is
64:48 the first rist rest that I've ever liked in my entire life I've actually been using this over the last have you tried
64:52 the 7g one yeah it just still feels plasti
64:56 really well it is plasticky but I find the shape is actually like really I do
65:00 kind of like the shape but I really really don't like the plasticky feel I like how this one has the leathery
65:05 texture to it because it's real leather um you know what I think I had
65:10 some I think I had some topics that I did want to discuss but
65:16 um I mean I can't even I can't even really remember what some of them were
65:20 because we didn't manage to launch the uh launch the live stream
65:25 until we I think we even talked about one of them already but uh I'm trying to
65:29 find my post that ient any good Twitter questions uh patent troll New Egg
65:35 shopping cart thing oh yeah right that was that was awesome okay I can also
65:40 check yeah why don't you why don't you uh prep why don't you start talking
65:43 about that one okay one sec all right so
65:46 I don't know everything behind the story so I'm sorry if I screw something up but
65:50 if everyone knows what patent trolls are basically they either have some
65:54 ridiculous patent that's it's just stupid or they buy something up and then
65:58 just try to sue everyone they can and make as much money as they can from
66:01 suing people because of a patent it's not like oh I actually invented this
66:05 thing and you're actually screwing me over I want compensation for this it's
66:09 more like let's just gouge everyone we possibly can for as much money as we
66:13 possibly can I bought the guy who actually invented it so now like so now
66:18 I'm just going to sue everyone going to hoard all of the like awesomeness for
66:21 myself yeah so someone claimed to have a
66:24 shopping cart patent now like I said I don't know everything behind the story
66:27 but shopping cart for online carts so just like okay let's attack everyone
66:34 like everyone and then New Egg just
66:37 steps up with lawyer power and just goes no and just stops some before he
66:42 actually got a was able to do pretty much anything Newegg kind of St stood up
66:47 took the charge and just demolished which is pretty cool because I'm pretty
66:51 tired of patent trolls yeah I mean one of the one of the important things to
66:55 note about patent trolls is that they generally have no intention of actually
67:00 doing anything with the patent so a great example of that would be someone
67:03 like rambus where they invented a bunch of cool stuff to do with memory and
67:07 that's cool I mean that's fine but the reality of it is that was a long time
67:10 ago and at this point everyone's using the technology and everyone's pretty
67:15 familiar with how it all works and you weren't going to build any of this stuff
67:20 anyway so sort of you know pee or get
67:24 off the pot so to speak um you know Cal calm down calm down so
67:28 don't don't worry about it um so actually another topic that I wanted to
67:33 talk about was the German court that ruled internet and essential
67:38 service so there was uh there was sort of a shenanigans that went down where um
67:45 a German Court actually ruled that the internet is essential enough to your
67:51 life that if an ISP so an internet
67:54 service provider um causes any downtime in your internet
67:59 service that you should be compensated for it does okay your thoughts I think
68:04 this is actually kind of cool um but come on that's insane but then I worry
68:10 well there can be seriously critical stuff you can not get a job okay you can
68:14 not you can fail an assignment you can like a lot of seriously big- time things
68:18 can happen and once you uh bring this to your employer and go oh my internet was
68:22 down even if you have evidence they're just like whatever I don't care okay but
68:27 it has to be like if there's a scheduled downtime then I don't think that should
68:31 count okay so the flip side of that argument is there are reliable internet
68:36 connections they're called business internet connections they cost three
68:39 times as much if your internet's that essential to you then you don't mind spending some money on it honestly no
68:45 like really consumer grade basically if
68:49 you buy a consumer grade okay here you buy a semi- truck where it's a
68:53 commercial vehicle the expect is that thing runs for a million damn miles they
68:59 put lots of maintenance on it they put lots of Maintenance in it but the
69:03 maintenance is scheduled maintenance that is like it's spec for that
69:07 maintenance right it's intended to do that M if if that truck broke down in
69:11 300,000 kilm or 300,000 miles or whatever but you know let's use
69:15 kilometers because that's easier for me if it broke down in 300,000 km how mad
69:19 are you pretty freaking madad are expensive whereas if you buy a Toyota
69:24 Corolla and it runs for 300,000 clicks
69:27 they're like yeah I got my I got my life cycle out of that if it breaks down and
69:31 you have like okay here if a semi breaks
69:35 down because of a shoddy piece of electronics that makes sh the window not
69:39 open or like the door locked stop working like my parents SUV the uh the
69:45 uh the trunk you can't open it because the electronic door doohickey doesn't
69:49 work and they had to take it back to the dealership and get it serviced a couple times um if that happened on a prograde
69:56 vehicle I says pardon yes but at the
70:00 same time like hey not to bring up me being on Tellis again and have a 50
70:04 kilobits a second upload but we would lose Internet like not like once or
70:10 twice a month like possibly more than once a day you're on tell us that's what
70:14 you get what the heck why but as a
70:18 consumer you have the right to change it guess how far away the Hub is the Telles
70:21 Hub I don't even know I could throw something and hit it from my house
70:25 you're pretty buff though but that's not the point like it's literally right
70:30 there like it's a it's across the street and a little bit down this is consumer
70:33 grade technology T us has tell us tell
70:36 us has professional grade uh professional grade service that they
70:40 provide that is more reliable probably still sucks okay you don't there's no
70:44 point hating on T us you don't even you're not even a customer of theirs
70:47 anymore so there you go I know I'm just like okay here another thing anything
70:51 prograde costs more and people understand that in well they used to
70:56 understand that consumer grade stuff doesn't entitle you to the same level of
71:00 reliability that prograde stuff does I mean a zon with a super micro
71:04 motherboard with ECC RAM that's error
71:07 cheing all the time and like a raid array of of boot drives with redundant
71:13 power supplies that thing better not ever turn off unexpectedly but this is
71:17 all at the same time even with the semi-truck this is stuff where it's all
71:21 on your end you could perform maintenance not necessarily you could
71:25 monitor things you could perform you perform maintenance all you want on that consumer grade car it's not going to go
71:30 a million kilometers it doesn't matter it's just not designed to do that and
71:35 things like a water pump will fail we
71:38 understand this we accept this in a consumer grade motherboard in consumer
71:43 grade memory that's not doing any error correction and checking um you know what
71:47 you can have a random you can have a random solar flare that blasts it with
71:52 something flips a bit the thing BL screens it turns off we accept this in
71:57 server grade it's going to find that fli bit it's going to say no it's going to
72:02 flip it back and that computer is not going to turn off most of the time okay
72:07 I'm Happ you at it most of the time most of the time but that's what we're
72:10 talking about professional grade versus consumer grade so an internet connection
72:15 that is consumer grade should be like any other consumer grade thing I can't
72:18 even play Devil's Advocate this much because I kind of I don't think the
72:22 internet certifier should actually get in trouble because there's so many things can happen but it would just be
72:26 kind of like if if internet goes down for a
72:31 day and there's no like natural disaster
72:34 and it's just like all their fault maybe you should get a free day I mean the
72:38 thing that I'd like to see is more competition with isps yeah especially
72:43 Canada so while I don't agree that we
72:46 should be penalizing an internet service Prov it's like um there's a there's a um
72:51 there's like a social what do you call
72:54 when a group tries to bring change to different institutions and stuff social
72:59 social social movement okay there's a social movement called open media in BC
73:04 that's all about like holy crap internet service providers and cell phone
73:07 providers are just killing everyone and
73:10 they're like trying to bring reform because we're all just getting decimated with pretty crappy service for
73:14 incredible prices and there's like when there's a social movement being like hey
73:20 guys what the heck and it's similar in a
73:23 lot of places so while I don't think that we should be able to penalize an
73:28 internet provider for not having service we should be able to switch to someone
73:32 else that I believe we should have the right to choose if they suck and if they
73:38 annoy enough customers then we should have the right to tell them to go shove
73:42 it somewhere and we should be able to go to someone else unfortunately when there's two cuz if we have like a
73:47 restaurant analogy restaurants probably like the perfect way to look at it is
73:50 you have a million choices for restaurants if they serve you like
73:55 poison food like if an internet provider somehow like serves you a virus serves
73:59 you a virus then they owe you something but if a restaurant if you go to a
74:04 restaurant and they're like we're out of chicken McNuggets and what do you say you say oh
74:10 you owe me money for the gas that I spent to come here to buy chicken
74:14 McNuggets and you didn't have no they don't which is why I said I can't even
74:17 really play Devils have I mean that's just bad luck I like yeah I think like
74:23 but again like and you can go to a different
74:26 restaurant yeah but you can't just flip isps every day you can't just be like oh
74:30 I don't have internet today I'm going to flip to tell us for today like and then
74:34 but the flip side of that is if it's so important to you to have internet on
74:38 that day then you should have a prograde connection or what you should do is you
74:42 should get a low balancing router they're only about 150 bucks and get two
74:46 different and you should have two different isps honestly like it's not
74:49 okay you looked at me like I was crazy for saying it it's expensive and a lot
74:52 of people can't afford that no but a lot of people can't afford semi- trucks so
74:57 they're going to have to figure out how to live without a sem like I said I don't actually really disagree with you
75:02 I don't think a ISP should get in like big financial trouble for having an
75:07 outage like and when you consider if
75:10 they have to compensate I don't know 100,000
75:14 customers for a day or half a day day or half a day actually that adds up pretty
75:19 quickly and it's not like that and okay like again I'm not like a bleeding heart
75:23 oh the poor internet service providers they're they're pretty balling I mean
75:27 they're pretty balling but the reality of it is they had all their staff on
75:31 that day yeah it that it's not like
75:34 their operation shut down be and if if anything their staff were working harder
75:39 that day because things were getting
75:42 real but then wow does it and wow doesn't make it super popular I know a
75:46 couple different MMOs do it if if it's down for a day you get a day that kind
75:51 of is a thing with some games not all of them with some MMO games right I know
75:56 wow did it I know back when I played EQ this is all old knowledge I don't know
76:01 but like I know EQ way back in the day kind of thought about it I don't
76:05 remember if they actually ever did but I mean look at it even something like okay
76:08 like I would go as far as to say when it comes to isps there's almost things that
76:12 they can't control but that's what I said if it's something like a natural disaster or something along those lines
76:17 okay okay what if there's just like a power outage because you know someone
76:22 screwed up there isn't usually just random power it is it can be for for
76:28 what is it is it their fault is it BC Hydro or is it sh you'll never know like
76:33 if there's a power outage is BC Hydro going to yeah not really CU I would
76:37 argue that electricity is a much more essential service than in fact I would
76:41 even argue that electricity is not an essential service if it's down for a few
76:44 hours or even a day depends who you are
76:47 why what if you're living off life support okay if you're on life support
76:51 but again hospitals are PR grade they
76:54 have but not everyone that's running off that like stuff that requires electricity to
76:59 live is at a hospital okay that's true
77:03 but then at that point what are you going to do give them 50 bucks because they died don't like I don't know I'm
77:08 just and they're I can tell you right now they're using equipment that is
77:12 prograde any medical equipment is prograde not consumer grade and is and
77:16 they've probably got battery backups of some sort or generator or something
77:20 something but I'm just I'm just but I would say that for the general The
77:24 General I'm trying to keep it interesting by fighting for the other side but I don't fully agree with it
77:28 okay well I don't actually think ISP should get in trouble just for that does
77:32 anyone dare me to take the legendary axe to his keyboard just to
77:37 to I think that would be the point where I get fired yeah out of a
77:44 cannon that wouldn't that would be Beyond not
77:48 cool um okay well we're pretty close to
77:51 wrapping up cuz I don't know about you but I'm getting tired oh sorry I just
77:55 um so Intel has MSA 525 ssds which are
78:00 basically a tweaked 520 so it's a high performance sand Force Drive which means
78:05 that you can get up to a 240 gig very high performance SSD in almost any form
78:10 factor now um and along those same lines
78:14 of shrinking storage tashiba now has an external 2 and 1 12 inch 2 tbte
78:20 drive USB 3 pretty standard that's
78:24 pretty Beast holy crap right that's pretty Beast how long ago was it that
78:28 you could only get 2 terab of capacity in a 3 and in fact 3 and 1/2 in drives
78:32 are still maxed out at 4 terabytes yeah yeah I was just going to say that's
78:37 crazy and like the the average one is two I think right now storage is just
78:41 getting so much smaller like it hasn't it's been it wasn't since we went from 5
78:46 and a/4 in being the standard for hard drives down to 3 and 1/2 in being the
78:51 standard for hard drives that we've seen a miniaturization of storage devices
78:56 like this so not only is the performance going like this uh well on SSD it's more
79:01 like going like this yeah um but we're
79:04 actually seeing newer and smaller form factors so ssds brought huge performance
79:08 in small capacities into these two and a half inch form factors now they've taken
79:12 that same performance and they've moved it down to MSA which is absolutely tiny
79:16 I mean mushkin has a 480 gig M just what Madness right do they sell
79:23 that much no of course cuz I see I know but I see a lot of guys that are just
79:27 like oh yeah we released this new baller MSA thing and I'm like I don't see MSA
79:31 move that much like I never see it on forums stuff it does but it moves uh MSA
79:36 sells to a different consumer MSA is not
79:40 for uh a desktop Hardware Enthusiast because what are you going to do with it
79:44 but there's so many desktop boards that built in not that many there's like
79:48 three that's a pretty good amount what do you mean that's a pretty good amount
79:51 that's a pretty good amount for something that I've never seen anyone
79:54 buy ever okay no MSA is not for the
79:58 Enthusiast desktop guys because why bother you have an Enthusiast desktop
80:02 know get a 2 and a half inch like velcro it to something don't worry about it but
80:06 then server why don't they just put it in SSD no no not for Server then what
80:11 for notebooks general consumers the guy who
80:16 buys a Macbook or some Ultra Book and is like oh the only way to expand my
80:21 storage is probably to get a bigger SSD my device only supports MSA so they buy
80:26 one and these are people who okay so enthusiasts are more likely to sort of
80:32 have a fast upgrade cycle or whatever else but a general consumer who's not
80:36 necessarily as educated is more likely to see a need find a solution and just
80:42 act on it because they don't want to do all the research that would be involved
80:46 in setting up a Nas so that they can back up their data there or use a cloud
80:50 service to I they don't want to deal with that they just they want a laptop
80:54 with the hard drive and they want it to be bigger that's it and if you look at
80:58 it from a dollar per Gigabyte perspective which is how an Enthusiast
81:01 looks at it you can go oh that's $500 for only 500 gigs instead I could buy
81:07 this drive which is18 gigs for only $99 a better value yeah whereas if you're a
81:12 general consumer you're going I spent $1,500 on this notebook that has a 128
81:18 gig storage device or I can spend spend it by that much more $2,000 to have four
81:23 times as much storage device so I'm spending 30% more to 4X my storage and
81:28 when when that's one of the main specs in the computer you care about I have a
81:31 better notebook now I spent this much more yeah that's another way of looking
81:35 at it and that might be if you bought an equivalent expense notebook you might be
81:40 happier and get more value out of the one that you upgraded because what you
81:44 actually needed more of was storage space instead of just throwing more money at a computer and getting maybe
81:49 only 50 gigs more did I do my Windows Phone 8 talk before or after we thought
81:54 we were streaming oh I don't remember anymore I
81:59 have no idea we also have to do a giveaway oh yeah we have to do a Windows
82:02 8 givea away
82:05 oh I don't have any questions I don't have any questions what should we do
82:11 let's go with like a Linus Tech tips related
82:14 question what OS did you wait wait wait
82:17 hold on hold on tell me
82:21 first well that's lame I don't I don't even remember what it is I just remember
82:26 there was that thing like what else do we do operating system St uh let's
82:33 do you know what um let's let twitch
82:37 chat tell us um twitch chat no no no no no they're not picking the question
82:42 let's let twitch chat tell us if I ever did the Windows Phone 8
82:47 thing um okay I talked about it already
82:50 Okay they say I talked about it already oh okay okay so I'll pick a question
82:54 question while you juggle or something I I can't juggle you can't juggle oh well
82:58 that's a shame well everyone's going to
83:01 be ridiculously bored now no they won't be bored I don't know what you're talk
83:05 about let's go twitch chat what's up how's it going how are you guys you guys
83:09 are saying yeah you're not even putting the twitch chat up on the thing so a
83:14 press two two don't press two over there whatever hey guys how's it going how's
83:21 life I'm good hey
83:25 you're so lame no one's saying anything interesting say stuff that's interesting
83:29 they're gonna say stuff that's inappropriate yeah I've seen some inappropriate stuff already hey there's
83:34 a dog I don't know how that guy did that that was actually pretty cool hello from
83:38 England hi how's it going I don't know what to say you guys saw my
83:42 keyboard that was kind of all I had up on my sleeve someone has a dog another
83:47 person has a person I'm good someone asked me how I am Destiny's question I
83:51 didn't see Destiny's question read Twitter okay
83:55 we will switch where's the browser there we
83:58 go oh oh oh it's broken if you don't
84:02 entertain them better you're fired
84:05 oh interactions Crisis 3 Bet has been
84:09 fantastic that's cool I want to play Crisis 3 beta needs weapons balancing
84:15 that's not surprising though I'm going to go with like a really stupid piece of
84:20 lonus trivia so I'm actually going to I'm going to be narcissistic enough to
84:24 ask question about myself yeah does it have anything to do
84:29 with Windows no what that's the point is it not yeah so
84:35 then you're just completely avoiding the point yeah we're deviating from the
84:39 point okay okay um how many inches
84:44 taller than me is
84:49 slick and you win a copy of Windows 8 I don't even know that answer
84:55 okay so we're going to Twitter we're going to Twitter let's see who gets it right
84:59 first you can only submit one guess each
85:02 18 new interactions uh oh okay so let's
85:05 go down I don't I don't know how tall slick is anymore okay hold on hold on how tall are
85:13 you can't do
85:17 math Okay so we've got some guesses rolling in okay we got someone saying 5
85:21 in uh 6 in 5 in 3 in 4 in 5 in 7 in 5
85:28 five 2 in 6 17 in come on Brian how
85:33 short do you really think that I am that's not fair 4 in seven in taller
85:39 okay moving down down down okay here we
85:44 go eight six five 2 fo4 in thanks a lot
85:53 man oh over 9,000 in I don't know what the answer is so I have no idea if we've
85:57 seen it or not cuz I don't know how tall you are 6' 3 3 in 4 in 9 in 8 in 3 in 7
86:03 in half an inch 20 new interactions no one's got it so far which is kind of
86:08 funny is it uh what are your thoughts on the
86:12 fx8350 yeah we're having a slightly different conversation right now which
86:15 is uh very related to everything 9 in 4
86:18 and 1 12 in 8 in 9 no one's C it yet
86:25 this is fun this is like the stupidest game
86:29 ever nope nobody's caught it yet I like
86:33 that guy's comment I use a metric system I have no idea stes you know what
86:37 tenaces you know thumbs up to you because you're awesome man you're a

87:36 foot 6 in and Slick is 64 64 so slick is
87:41 10 inches taller than me that's why it always uh that's why it always hardcore

89:17 Game servers how do I feel about them have you even heard about them no
89:21 they're pretty cool and like I think he's actually the one it up and it goes
89:25 like L Tech tips.com star all capitals unofficial
89:31 star so they're not trying to like be sleazy about it they're very official
89:34 very cool as officially unofficial as long as they're unofficial and it's just
89:38 you know lineus Tech tips.com Forum members and they are getting together
89:42 and playing some games that's great I mean that's I it got it got brought up
89:46 by a mod just to make sure that I knew about it he wasn't like I think this is a bad idea or whatever just so that I
89:50 knew about it and then I checked it out and I was like okay well he put the big
89:53 star unofficial star thing so we don't have to moderate it or anything it's
89:57 just free roaming and I think it's cool that's cool um Logan said he sent the
90:02 Skyrim mods yes he did so we have the full list of Skyrim mods so we can PC
90:06 ify it the same way that he did uh okay there's a whole lot of uh oh
90:11 there's a lot of people who are saying they said 10 inches first well it didn't show up on Twitter so I don't know we'll
90:16 have to just go back and check it out um
90:20 okay so I think that's pretty much it for tonight
90:24 good night everyone and thank you for thank you for bearing with us when we
90:28 had again more technical difficulties we really thought that we finally had made
90:33 it so that we started on time yeah and we're really bummed out that we were
