0:00 holy crap a Kew unlocked processor as an
0:05 I3 this is exciting but that's not all
0:08 it also comes with hyperthreading that's right two cores four threads one I3
0:15 7350k this launch from Intel may be a
0:18 bold response to the looming threat that is AMD's ryzen release
0:33 or maybe it's simply a followup to the Pentium g3258 anniversary edition an
0:38 overclockable dual core that lacked hyperthreading presenting some pretty
0:43 serious issues in some Modern games that wouldn't even launch unless they
0:48 detected four processor threads like Far Cry 4 for example which does work with
0:53 the 7350k so it's a category killer then
0:57 well maybe not the g3258 was $75 and the
1:01 I3 7350k is
1:05 $180 and hyperthreads are still not real
1:09 cores which you can learn more about up here but for now let's see how worth it
1:14 the first unlocked core I3 really is
1:17 okay to start us off there's the specs it's got two cores and four threads like
1:22 I mentioned earlier but it also has 4 megabytes of cache so it's exactly half
1:29 of a Cory 7 7700k in every way thus far
1:34 but the story changes when you look at clock speed a 7700k boost to 4.5 GHz a
1:40 7350k drops that down but not by much
1:44 just to 4.2 GHz and that's also not the whole story if someone buys a K series
1:49 I3 I fully expect and hope that they
1:53 plan to overclock it that's the whole point so anyways I got mine up to 5 GHz
1:59 easily with 1.4 volts but with some tuning I'd expect that you'd be able to
2:04 drop that down to like 1.35 volts or maybe even lower I stress tested it for
2:09 a long time and it was Rock Solid I'm
2:13 not the only one either people are getting 5 gz on this chip all over the
2:17 Internet it's an exciting time to be an I3 like before though you'll need an
2:22 overclockable chipset so Zed series if
2:25 you want to learn more about the Zed 270 motherboards the updated on board
2:29 graphics and the finer details of Intel's latest platform check out this
2:34 video up here but okay enough of that let's talk about performance this is not
2:38 an easy answer I put our 7350k on the
2:42 bench along with an ASUS Rog z270 Maximus 9 code 16 gigs of gskill ddr4
2:48 RAM a Corsair h100 GTX V2 extreme and a
2:52 Founders Edition NVIDIA GTX 1080 just to
2:55 remove potential GPU bottlenecks in games on the same setup I also o ran a
3:00 core i57400 the 7400 it's a true quad core
3:07 with 4 total threads that cost $182 just $2 more than the
3:13 7350k to do this we used the 7700k and
3:16 adjusted hyperthreading settings and multiplier settings to get pretty much
3:20 equivalent performance it works trust me
3:23 and if you don't believe it check out this video remember no K so no
3:27 overclocking it's not an option for most people the first comparison that I want
3:31 to do between our 7400 and our 7350k is
3:35 cinebench the 7350k has a way higher
3:38 clock speed at 5 GHz versus 3.5 so it
3:42 should crush in single core performance and it did so all is well except that it
3:49 also crushed in multi-threaded those Speedy little hyperthreaded cores not
3:53 only crushed in cine bench but also pull the victory in our seven zip test and
3:58 our image editing through ASUS Rog
4:01 realbench that's 4 to zero so far but
4:05 before you go out and spend your $182 on
4:08 an I3 7350k and two cans of pop there is
4:12 also video encoding to consider the i57400 did win the real bench en coding
4:18 tests but not by much then there's
4:22 gaming ah man there is no difference
4:26 between either of these processors or the top-of-the line 7700 k when testing
4:31 DSX mankind divided so I guess I can go
4:34 ahead and never test that when comparing CPUs ever again so anyways moving on in
4:40 GTA 5 rise of the Tomb Raider and Ashes of the singularity average performance
4:46 was very similar there were some
4:49 differences in minimums with the 7350k falling behind although it was a little
4:54 inconsistent and not that major either way so in conclusion the Intel I3 7350k
5:01 costs more than we feel like it should
5:04 but I was also expecting it to not be that great considering quad cores have
5:09 been considered the minimum for gaming for quite some time now but it destroyed
5:15 so that's pretty cool other things to consider could be direct X12 and Vulcan
5:19 but I don't expect those to have performance impacts and actual games for
5:24 quite some time now and then there's ryzen if you're looking to upgrade your
5:28 rig anytime time soon you should probably wait for ryzen let's all hope
5:34 that's a strong launch tunnel bear is the simple VPN app that makes it easy to
5:38 browse privately and enjoy a more open internet with tunnel bear turned on your
5:42 Wi-Fi connection is secured and your online activity is kept private from

6:07 video sucked you know what to do but if it was awesome get subscribed hit that
6:10 like button or check out the link for where to buy stuff like processors in
6:14 the description down below if you want to discuss this video on the Forum you
6:18 can also do that down there there should be a link and we have a a link to buy
6:22 our super cool shirts also down there which you can totally check out please
6:27 don't pay attention to the one that I'm wearing just click the link and I'll see
6:31 you next time you can watch this video which is also out a processor bye
