0:35 this is stuck on something no I'll just pull on it that

0:49 because I I pulled on it which caused a problem for you and your sense of the
0:54 way things should work which meant you rushed over there and fixed it for me

1:43 probably about half a dozen times during the stream last week cuz people kept joining and then they kept asking so
1:47 carry on he said where I am so technically I'm in the new studio but
1:51 where I was was Korea and I didn't
1:54 actually land when the stream started I landed like a while after the stream
1:58 ended right yeah why did we think you were going to be on time for the stream
2:02 cuz we had your flight details like two three weeks before we left yeah I don't
2:08 know what happened I I don't know why we thought that possible hours late like
2:14 hours and hours late like I I didn't get home until well we went and had dinner
2:18 afterwards but I didn't get home if I minus the time of dinner I didn't get
2:21 home until like 10: which is hours after
2:25 the stream when did we well that would have been okay to join me during the old
2:30 is that what we were thinking that might have been it cuz technically we were still in the old stream time when we
2:34 first started doing the trip details that might be it but then we didn't
2:38 factor in okay so tell tell us about your trip to you've told me nothing about your trip to Korea what happened
2:42 that first night the first uh I don't know how much I
2:48 should have you heard anything about the first night no I know nothing huh how
2:53 into details I know you were I know you were stuck in Korea that's all I know
2:58 okay I'll go through the play byplay I don't know if I anyways I'll just do it
3:01 whatever um so I land my I have three
3:05 phones on me right now because I had the Note One blackberry and my S3 and I have
3:11 my laptop right right laptop's dead Blackberry is dead not's dead S3 has 13%
3:17 oh okay laptop's not dead laptop had about 15% S3 had about 10 15% okay so
3:23 everything's pretty much dead but my assumption was a ton of people in Taipei
3:27 could speak English oh yeah a ton of people you could get around fairly easily right yeah but there was a
3:32 convention in town but there was a convention in town but a lot of the people that just worked in the stores or
3:36 whatever could like at least point you in the right direction yeah however if
3:39 you're like t-shirt extra extra extra large they
3:43 could kind of handle it they could get you to where you need to go food water
3:46 hotel whatever kind of work no not in
3:50 Korea not in Korea the airport was good
3:53 and when I first land in the airport I was like all right I'm good this is good
3:56 by the way when I first land in the airport someone ran up to me cuz I'm wearing it's really bright in the area
4:01 cuz there's lights everywhere in white floors and I just got off a pitch black
4:04 plane cuz Ione have their Windows close so I had my aviators on cuz my eyes were
4:07 still readjusting so I have my aviators on I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt and
4:12 this dude runs up to me he's like military military military and he looks really angry and I'm like what the heck
4:17 and I kind of thought about it and we had talked about this previously all the
4:21 American GIS that are in oh some of that
4:25 is being happily accepted some of that is not being happily accepted so I
4:29 didn't know what this guy's position was but he was yelling military at me and looked really pissed off so I flashed my
4:34 Canadian passport and was like no no no no no no no no Canada has no military
4:40 it's okay we have some robots we make it by um I heard we had a submarine at one
4:45 point really like one why I don't know
4:49 anyway car no we bought it used from the British or something like that seems
4:52 like a terrible idea I know right man dumb anyways so a flash my
4:59 password whatever get it across that I'm not military he says okay and actually
5:03 was nice and end up escorting me to the like Express train into Soul so I get
5:09 onto the express train into Soul everything seems fine I ran into an
5:13 actually American GI there so I wasn't surprised that he was asking if I was
5:17 one um and I get to Soul station which
5:20 is like Soul Central Station it's this huge hub for Transit tons of trains and
5:25 everything all there um but then right when I get to Soul Central station no
5:30 one speaks English right I try to go get on one of
5:34 the trains and there's no like coin slot or Bill slot or anything so I have no
5:38 idea what's going on I see some people with these like cards that they're
5:42 hitting against the thing and it beeps so like I'm like okay like people have
5:45 NFC cards how do I get one of these like I have no idea what I'm doing I start
5:49 asking around I don't know what the currency rate is and I go to the ATM and
5:52 go to pull out money and the minimum pull out is like $50,000 right okay
5:56 right and I'm like whoa hope hopefully the conversion is
6:01 pretty uh pretty scaled out there because I have no idea how I'm pulling
6:05 how much I'm pulling out of the ATM um and my phone's dead and there's not very
6:09 much free Wi-Fi huh in Soul Central Station there was no free Wi-Fi right
6:14 okay which is nuts there's a McDonald's there there's a whole bunch of stuff
6:17 there that I would expect from being in Canada that there would be free Wi-Fi
6:21 there so I'm thinking okay I might be
6:24 getting through one of these Wi-Fi portals I might be able to get Wi-Fi
6:28 access because some of them I'm cing random Korean buttons hoping that it
6:31 works and like I think I might be getting through one but my phone's
6:34 starting to die because I've been doing this for a while I've been at Soul Central Station for a little while now
6:38 okay so I go to McDonald's hoping that they have Wi-Fi they don't but either
6:42 way I stash all my stuff I load up my laptop put it into sleep and close it so
6:46 that I can drain the battery from my laptop into my phone because at this point in time I'm like my phone's more
6:51 important and there's no plugs that I can use slick power management tips
6:55 right there drain your laptop into your phone yeah there's no there's no power
6:59 plugs like can use right okay cuz I have a like North American PL and you don't
7:02 have a travel adapter don't have a travel adapter because diesel does right
7:07 when you he was supposed to be going before you but it ended up that I was
7:10 going before him so I could catch WCS
7:14 Starcraft so sit down in this McDonald's trying to drain my laptop trying to
7:18 listen to people around me and catch keywords to see if I can like quick
7:22 translate anything on the fly like I'm trying to document everything I can
7:25 right yeah I start just writing down random names of the things at McDonald's
7:29 that I know would be like translations of
7:32 hamburger like so I can like ask for food and stuff like I'm trying to I'm
7:35 like I'm screwed I need to get whatever information I can because I'm
7:40 screwed and Brilliant me when I was in
7:43 the airport someone asked if I wanted a rental phone but it was $9,000 or 9,000
7:47 w a day okay so it seemed way too expensive I didn't know the currency
7:51 conversion so I didn't get it so I didn't have a rental phone yet
7:57 awesome and I knew there was other stuff could do and I assumed free Wi-Fi
8:00 everywhere and if free Wi-Fi was everywhere I knew I'd be able to make it buy right so I wasn't worried I could
8:05 WhatsApp diesel I could do whatever I could communicate I really assumed free
8:08 Wi-Fi everywhere because I'm in Korea right apparently that's not a thing um
8:13 so I don't have a rental phone all that kind of stuff while I'm sitting there um
8:16 this one chick looks at me and she's like hey are you new here in perfect
8:20 English and I'm like yes you can save me
8:25 this is so good um so I start talking to them for a little bit and then they're
8:30 like let's go get food so I'm like okay there's two of them yay we can go get
8:34 food so before I leave I get them to go to the ATM with me and help me figure
8:38 out what the currency conversion is ends up being super easy right um 200,000 is
8:43 basically 200 bucks okay there's a scale off like it's probably plus or minus 20
8:48 bucks or something but it's close enough that it's like okay somewhere around
8:51 there right so I pull out some money we go for food they teach me some of the
8:56 customs with like eating food and going to restaurants and how to like deal with
9:00 people and stuff taugh me a few words that could help me get by um like if
9:03 you're trying to hail someone down how to do it if it's a guy how to do it if it's a girl okay um hello sure just like
9:11 random little things like that like I learned some really basic stuff um and
9:15 they helped me out and then like we're going around cruising around checking
9:19 out different shops and different restaurants and stuff and I'm like hey I need to get like a hotel cuz I need to
9:25 sleep before WCS tomorrow cuz at this point I still want to go to the
9:28 Starcraft event right I haven't had that's a high priority oh it is it's
9:31 definitely a high priority Starcraft um
9:35 I've had no time online yet since hitting Korea right so I have no idea
9:40 what's going on which explains why I didn't hear from you yeah okay or anyone
9:44 like my mom's freaking out yeah you know my mom oh I'm sure your mom was freaking
9:48 out not happy um so I'm cruising around
9:52 you know she Facebooked me
9:56 right did she really yes well in Korea
10:00 asking if you had any info saying that because I think by the time I had
10:04 reached her she had heard from you so something about the only reason I'm
10:08 still alive is that she's heard from you by now or something like
10:12 that I sounds about right okay um so I'm
10:17 like hey I need to get somewhere I figure out that I'm in like the bottom
10:20 of soul and where I wanted to end up was way up in the top of Soul okay at this
10:25 point in time transit's down sure um
10:29 like I don't know how to talk to taxis like it's not a good situation okay um
10:34 so the one chick is like you can just stay at our
10:40 dorms that's what my mom did it ended up
10:43 being fine uhuh so I crashed on the floor of the one chick's dorm room and
10:47 then um the one girl's boyfriend took me
10:51 to WCS in the morning okay and then that was great and then I got to see I went
10:56 to gome Studio which is like my two two of my favorite casters tasteless and
11:00 osis not9 who is my actual favorite Caster but two of my favorite casters um
11:05 got to see them do the semi-finals which was great um talked to them got them to
11:10 sign my Starcraft box which I gave to my brother that was the box with the
11:13 writing okay sure I I brought my Starcraft Heart of the Swarm box I got
11:17 both of them to sign it CU my brother's a caster and he loves casters right so I
11:21 got them to sign that I ended up giving that to my brother and then I talked to
11:24 them about where the finals actually were because they were casting it as a
11:28 spectator oh oh okay okay so they had a camera on them and a screen in their
11:32 desk that was the Starcraft I see okay and when they're casting most of the
11:36 time the Starcraft stream is on the screen so they got to just stare at it and talk about it while was going on
11:40 right but they weren't actually live at the event and the event was in Korea so
11:43 I got to see the semi-finals with them which was awesome but then I wanted to go to the big Arena event cuz I was like
11:48 okay I'm in Korea I got to go to a Starcraft event in an arena CU that's
11:52 awesome so the tasteless which is one of
11:56 the guys um who like I didn't have a marker from to sign my thing cuz I don't
12:00 know how to buy a marker in Korea cuz I like couldn't find a stationary store
12:04 because I'm like where the heck am I supposed to go um I mean I don't want to
12:08 generalize but based on all the Korean exchange students that have ever come to
12:12 my school when I was in like high school and all the stationary that they carry
12:15 with them there should it should bewhere think they have stores for that should be every we ended up I ended up finding
12:20 an insane school supply station yeah like they probably have like every color
12:24 of every penc but that was a few days down not that I'm generalizing it's just
12:28 I mean you can't help but make observations anyway go ahead that yeah I
12:32 I did find that place um NG also known
12:35 as by now Diesel and I call them proxy
12:38 but that's a whole another story proxy sure oh oh okay yeah that uh intern guy
12:44 yeah he ended up showing us one it was awesome but that was a few days down the line that's when after I had met up with
12:48 both of them this was when I was still on my own um so tasteless and I are like
12:53 pulling out tables and stuff trying to find like
12:56 sliding tables away from walls trying to open drawers to find try and find a
12:59 marker he was actually pretty awesome I ended up finding a marker so he signed
13:03 the box for my brother I talked to him for a little bit and then he walked me outside and pointed down a bridge I was
13:07 just like go down there you'll see Arenas and then it's the one in the back
13:11 so I'm like okay time to go I guess so I
13:16 just walk down the street get to the Arenas walk through like some security
13:19 gate just pretended that I was totally confident there was totally nothing
13:23 wrong with me walking through the security gate like tall white dude in
13:27 Korea is's not going to stand out at all this is obviously fine right like no big
13:31 deal I'm just walking through no big deal no one stopped me which is great okay so I walked through the security
13:35 gate there's three huge Arenas and two of them are super super loud and have
13:39 tons of cars out them and are just absolutely massive and I'm like I think
13:43 Starcraft is a little bit smaller than that those ended up both being huge
13:46 baseball games going on at the same time okay and then so I walk through go to
13:50 the one in the very back so Starcraft isn't quite baseball yet that's what
13:53 you're trying to say no not quite they're trying though go to the back um
13:58 admittance was it cost it was a 10 deposit that I got
14:02 back or 10,000 W um to get a like little
14:07 radio thing I wore headphones for that I could get tuned into to the English
14:11 casters right because there was the Korean casters which honestly after a
14:14 while I just took it out because it was kind of cool to listen to the crazy
14:17 Korean casters right they're nuts cuz I
14:21 can kind of see what's going on it's kind of like badminton where there's uh
14:25 some of the uh some of the coverage on the Canadian feed had commentation but
14:30 it was like terrible whereas I'd rather
14:34 i' honestly I'd rather listen to it in like Danish because at least the guys
14:39 know when to be excited and like like the like the guys who don't really know
14:43 the sport very well they'd get like super excited about some shot and I'm like I can make that shot whereas like
14:49 the actual guys who actually know how to play the game or knew how to play it at
14:52 some point they yeah anyway so yeah well
14:55 like okay those Starcraft CS were actually good the English ones so it's
14:58 not I understand that analogy and I agree but it didn't really CU not quite
15:02 like that then but it was just entertaining to listen to the Korean
15:05 guys live cuz they're so crazy right so it was it was just kind of cool um and
15:10 to like feel the vibe of the crowd because everyone was just way more amped
15:13 than I've ever seen cuz the only thing I've gone to around here is barcraft
15:17 which is where people go to a bar and then all the TVs have Starcraft on them
15:20 right um and that's interesting but no one's really Rowdy right everyone was
15:24 crazy in the arena so that was kind of cool um end up trying to leave there and
15:28 figure out how the heck I'm supposed to get back to that dorm right cuz that's
15:31 where my luggage is right so jump on the
15:36 train hope I'm going in the right direction get off at some random stop
15:40 figure it out ended up getting there it actually wasn't that bad cuz soul is
15:43 actually really easy to navigate around cuz the train system is like super
15:46 intricate but if you at least know what stop you're supposed to get off on it
15:50 can kind of lean you there okay it's not really that big of a deal got there
15:54 eventually hung out with them for a while okay now this is Sunday diesel
15:59 should be in town um I need to get up to
16:02 the hotel so I can meet up with him right um I go around the Subway or yeah
16:10 Subway really really quickly get up there try and get a cab to Rada where we
16:13 were staying took me to Grand Hyatt which is way across town and then I had
16:19 to try and get all the way back eventually made it that was ridiculous
16:22 and then the actual Korea trip started which was fairly not very eventful
16:26 except for a Changing of the Guard ceremony that Diesel and I participated
16:30 in which I'll try and get pictures for you we acted as commanders in The
16:33 Changing of the Guard ceremony it was
16:37 epic what I I was Googling up stuff to do in
16:42 Korea and they're like changing the guard ceremony they only do like one person a day it's like this big thing so
16:46 I was like let's do it so I talked to proxy and I was like can we do this so
16:50 he hooked it all up and we ended up going and put us in full costume with
16:54 like a real sword and a real bow and arrow and everything and then we like
16:57 marched out with everyone and had to go through this like cryptic process to make sure we're the same people and you
17:02 like put coins together and make sure they match and check for a key and do
17:05 all this stuff it's crazy and we were in front of all these people that were
17:08 watching and it was nuts W that's really cool it was pretty cool other than that
17:13 it was just like shopping all right so let's talk Xbox one so this is Xbox 180

17:24 180 so this is from IGN from a couple days ago you guys have probably heard
17:29 about this but what you haven't heard is any of Slick's take on the whole NextGen
17:33 console Xbox One Thing Beyond some of the early news that was coming out so
17:38 I'll run you through quickly through the details of this one so contrary to
17:42 everything Microsoft has set up till now they are completely turning around on
17:46 everything so it no longer requires an internet connection to play offline
17:50 games no longer needs to check in 24 hours a day now allows game discs to be
17:56 traded in much the same way that they used to so disc based games operate the
18:00 way they used to whereas uh games that
18:03 are based around downloads will operate according to your account from from what
18:08 I've seen in here uh what else we got here no uh no no restrictions on
18:14 trade-ins no region locked consoles honestly that was the one where I was
18:18 just like is this April fools you're going to launch a console in like 2122
18:23 countries whatever it was I mean that was ridiculous did you even see that one yeah yeah and it was like a whole bunch
18:28 of Asian countries it wasn't being released in are you crazy it's like oh
18:31 yeah no we don't need to release in China or India because China and India
18:35 don't play video what are you nuts anyway uh and I think Japan wasn't even
18:40 on the list there was a few ones that made me yeah that honestly like it
18:44 looked like they were joking at that point um in addition to being available
18:48 in retail stores Xbox One games will still be available to download on day one and will be playable on any Xbox One
18:53 console so that sounds like it's account based um so here this is the part that
18:58 is really most notable to me uh since unveiling our plans for Xbox
19:05 One my team and I have heard directly from many of you read your comments and
19:09 listen to your feedback I would like to take the opportunity today to thank you
19:12 for our assistance and helping us reshape the future of Xbox one you told
19:16 us how much you love the flexibility you have today with games delivered on dis the ability to lend share and resell
19:20 these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you also important is the freedom to play offline
19:25 for any length of time anywhere in the world
19:29 I'll let you go first basically what I think happened was they were second on
19:35 Amazon pre-order sales mm and they were like oh no how do we take that first
19:40 spot huh I'm not really sure what do
19:44 everyone like more about the other conso okay I guess we should maybe change a
19:48 few things so we can get that top dollar spot I think that's what happened cuz
19:52 that's the only thing okay the company's going to change something so they can make more money it's a company you're
19:58 supposed to try and make more money that's the whole idea of a company so
20:02 while I don't necessarily think the idea of making more money is evil or bad NOP
20:06 lus Media Group needs to make money we need to make more money throwing that out there and we will do things that
20:10 help us make more money yes um I think they I like to think we don't bone our
20:15 viewers over it yeah I was just going to say they went way too far like orders of
20:20 magnitude way too far and then reeled it
20:23 all the way back which was a good move I don't know if it's too little too late I
20:26 don't know if everyone's too angry already did you hear about the like Mass
20:30 returns of Xbox 360 stuff tra in stuff
20:33 people were trading in everything they had really here's my console here's all
20:38 my games at like stupid low tradein prices because everyone is doing it so
20:42 so now's a good time to get an Xbox 360 on the cheap probably I would assume I
20:47 don't really know if we wanted to play Xbox 3 you know I had a lot of people
20:50 criticizing me last week for talking consoles at all because I said outright
20:54 the last console game I bought was Mario Kart Wii and then the one before before
20:58 that was probably on this NES and people were like well if you don't buy it then
21:02 you don't have the right to talk about it and I was just kind of like
21:06 well okay you know duly noted but I
21:10 don't think playing Gears of War makes me more qualified to talk about an
21:16 Xbox I think it could help do you think it could help if I play GE of War could
21:20 help because then you're more in tuned you know like you're more in tuned with
21:25 the whole system mhm if you if not necessarily the act of purchasing a game
21:31 but if you actually play on the console you probably have more to say about it
21:34 okay that much is true you you would you probably already have a minimum amount
21:37 to say about it I don't think that's invalid because you don't play on it but
21:41 I think you could have more to say about it well they said they wanted to hear from you more because you are an actual
21:47 gamer so that's why that's why I'm kind of letting you go first here on this one
21:50 okay even though I it should be noted when was the last time you played a game
21:53 on an Xbox an Xbox M broke or an Xbox
21:56 360 mine broke yours how many times did yours break
22:01 four I think I have three on my shelf
22:05 that are all dead but I think one of them was exchanged for warranty so I
22:09 think I think it was four but I currently have three broken ones on a
22:12 shelf okay and you don't have a working one no and one of them like so so out of
22:17 the two of us I'm the only one with a working Xbox 360 but I played a lot I
22:22 played on Xbox 360 if so there you go guys that's why slick will do most of
22:25 our uh most of our console talk but my
22:28 brother and I took one of them had a dead optical drive the other one had a
22:31 dead motherboard so we zombied two of them together right we were riding on
22:35 that for a little while and then that one kind of died right like man okay so
22:41 here's my take whether you guys think I should be allowed to talk about it or not and I mean okay maybe I'm giving
22:46 them the benefit of the doubt much the same way we've done to EA before and as
22:51 much as it hurts me I mean I love Microsoft I love so many of the things
22:54 they do and as much as it hurts me to utter their name under in the same
22:57 breath as the it almost feels like what they've done
23:00 here is intentionally be as terrible as
23:04 they possibly can for all of the press
23:08 and all the talk and all the buzz so
23:11 that they can have as much impact as possible when they reverse all of it
23:16 because if they were really trying to get away with all this stuff did they
23:19 have to go trickle it out yeah did they have to go full stop no we're going to
23:25 go as people have said this is the Xbox 180 do we do we need to do a full
23:30 reversal of absolutely everything why
23:33 why couldn't they still do account-based games I actually don't understand why
23:37 you can't have an account-based game I and
23:41 like oh there's a lot to say on that okay there's a lot to say I mean why
23:45 can't it work something like steam though that's an account-based gaming
23:48 system yeah you sign in and then see I'm I'm going to keep
23:53 doing this look at he looks like he's going to explode so you sign in and then
23:58 once you've signed it so you boot up and sign in then it's validated for a while
24:03 I actually don't have a problem with that it's never bothered me I've never been offline long enough that it's
24:07 bothered me I've had my computer offline for insane amounts of Time how long is
24:12 the time frame for steam yeah it's I I think it's at least a week I or like 5
24:17 days or three days or something like it's multiple days I'd be surprised if it was that short it might veryy by it's
24:23 pretty freaking long so so if they' implemented something like
24:27 that and like another thing though with steam um with their new leaked code
24:32 thing oh yeah no no we talk about that later okay okay well that ties in so
24:37 well uh okay fine we'll talk about that now so okay okay okay so there's a few
24:42 lines of code that came out in a new beta patch yeah um which basically
24:46 stated in the lines of code shared game borrowed game lending game kind of
24:51 phrases two weeks someone says more than two weeks either way it's a long time
24:55 it's a long time yeah um which basically
24:59 means there's a high possibility that you are going to be able to lend share
25:04 borrow games through Steam so people would be able sool so cool so you would
25:08 be able to like I guess temporarily remove your ability to play it from your
25:13 library and allow your friend to play it which is the exact same thing as taking
25:17 a disc from your house giving it to your friend and not being able to play it for
25:20 a little while except your friend could live in like Sweden yeah ah so cool
25:24 which is awesome like that's really really cool again uh one of our mod just
25:28 said 90 days that sounds more right that sounds that sounds too much I've like I
25:34 was pretty sure it's really long cuz i' I've I've had it be really long before I
25:38 don't know if that's right or not anyway I mean I think the I think the the
25:41 protection from someone like valve is
25:44 well you don't let people log into your Steam account because then you're boned
25:47 yeah I mean and I don't mind that as far as protection goes I mean use twep
25:52 because they do use twostep when you log in from an unfamiliar I love their twep
25:56 and their twostep is great so if Microsoft were to implement it exactly
25:59 that way you would not lend your Xbox account to
26:02 someone like you just wouldn't so but
26:05 they should allow the sharing thing but they should allow the sharing thing so
26:09 anyway like do you think it's just that no press is bad press and it was like a
26:14 strategy I don't think so or is that just too insane I think it's too insane
26:18 is that any less insane than if they actually did that than if they actually
26:22 Prett close what's more insane they
26:25 developed all these systems I think they were going to try I think they didn't think it was going
26:29 to be that big of a deal how could they possibly think that because Xbox is
26:35 huge so is PlayStation yeah they have a

37:11 use it it doesn't matter someone's giving it to you for free they refuse to

38:10 keyboard and this is weird because it was doing it on my tablet the other day when I was trying to use it for

38:24 to be used in modern UI and I understand that but like really also I'd always
38:30 have the keyboard cover on anyway iPad hands down for me for tablet experience

38:39 would like to say Android but the one Android tablet that I've used and only
38:44 one that's the Transformer right the original Transformer was not a very good

64:52 they've done stuff like this before and so these are going to be system builder

65:30 Picked yeah two Cherry Picked I suspect there just aren't enough of them and not
65:34 only that but they'll Ship Without cooling solutions and they will be expecting uh aftermarket coolers on
65:39 these things because of the extremely high 220 watt TDP and the funny thing is
65:46 um most of the people that have sent me messages about this seem to be under the
65:50 impression thatd is concerned about the chips not being cooled enough I call
65:55 ball on that because Intel already does it with their six core processors all
65:59 LGA 2011 processors ship with no heat sink these are high TDP chips they are
66:04 expecting people to put an appropriate cooler on it with that said it's a
66:08 different socket and you'd expect any cooler on lga2011 to be appropriate for
66:12 an LGA 2011 chip but there are quad cores on 2011 there are lowprofile
66:16 coolers that I kind of look at and I go seriously oh jeez you know that one we
66:20 have just like really maybe if the fan
66:24 goes speaking of nocta who I love so dearly they have a low profile cooler
66:28 coming it looks so sexy speaking of noct we killed their website double stack did
66:31 we really yeah
66:36 oops sorry sorry sorry Jacob um I think
66:42 the problem is actually to do with the vrm on motherboards because we've seen this
66:48 before with AMD when they started releasing some of their High TDP Black
66:52 Edition chips um even not to 200 plus
66:56 wattt TDP chip so remember that is going to be pulling a ton of power these are
67:00 basically overclocked CPUs out of the box Cherry Picked and overclocked um
67:06 people were killing boards because they were putting them on consumer grade
67:09 boards remember AMD doesn't have a socket differentiation strategy I
67:13 believe AMD is concerned not only about consumers putting them on boards that
67:17 are going to fry but also motherboard
67:20 manufacturers validating these chips on boards that can't handle them in the
67:24 long term Intel saw a ton of this back in the presc days I saw motherboards
67:30 that had been running for maybe a year and a half where the entire back of the
67:34 board along the vrm was brownish black
67:38 yeah and they weren't even dead yet they were still running but Lord only knows
67:42 what kind of voltages they were delivering to the CPU by that point how
67:46 damaged they were so this wouldn't be the first time that a CPU manufacturer
67:51 has gone okay whoa hold on this chip needs a lot of power maybe we better be
67:55 careful what kind of motherboards it's being put in and I know that some of the
67:59 boards that it's being validated with are things like Crosshair 5 where ASUS
68:03 on their Rog boards overb builds the vrm to the point where it's just kind of
68:07 stupid yeah but that's what they need but that's what they do yeah and that's
68:11 what this chip needs so um so there you go that's my that's my take on that
68:15 whole thing that's interesting that makes sense uh TDP thermal design power
68:20 so TDP is used a little H it's used a
68:23 little bit interchangeably with power and thermal output so that is how much
68:29 heat it generates and the the thing is that there does tend to be a correlation
68:33 between the P the power consumption of the Chip And The Heat that it wastes
68:37 because efficiency is efficiency across an architecture and so the amount of
68:43 heat that you're going to generate as waste is going to have something to do with how much power consumption that
68:47 it's actually using versus how much of it gets expelled as heat and part of the
68:51 confusion also comes from the fact that watts are used for both heat and Power
68:55 but TDP strictly speaking refers to the
68:59 actual thermal output of a chip or graphics card or whatever else it just
69:04 happens that like it's funny because you look at the TDP of something like um a
69:07 GTX 690 versus a Radeon 7990 there's a
69:11 75 watt difference it happens that underload power consumption is a 75 watt
69:16 difference so you see where the confusion comes
69:19 from so yeah so 220 wat TDP means these
69:23 things bust out a ton of heat which also affects the vrm solution because even if
69:28 you have a beefy vrm if it doesn't have adequate Cooling and there's this 220
69:32 watt heating element and that's before people overclock them and TDP goes on a
69:37 curve like this as you start to overclock it um there's a lot of heat
69:42 there that can burn out vrms as well uh how bad are Corsair SP 1220s compared to
69:46 n2s I mean they're not bad they have a bit more of a ticking noise particularly
69:51 when they're undervolted um they don't perform as well um
69:56 they look really they look way better that's that's I think that's where the
70:00 main competition is people don't like the look of nocu but you see a lot of SP
70:04 that's why I'm using GED wings and AP1 121s cuz I can't accept the nocas in my
70:09 in my personal build which has a blue and black color scheme the interchangeable rings on SP 1220s are
70:14 awesome that was such that was such an innovation really good move it was like
70:17 the weirdest smallest thing I didn't think it mattered at first and then I
70:20 started seeing it in different colored builds and I was just like they hit the

72:28 compared to 600 series and 7,000 series is terrible at idol the amount of heat

72:40 ludicrous raid card with eight ssds in raid zero which I do not recommend
72:44 running the amount of times I've had panic moments because my computer blue
72:49 screens and the RAID controller has a small freak out and loses my array and I
72:53 have to swap the cables and the alarms off and the I mean I'm I'm running in a
72:58 Cari laser which is like a 5-year-old Mouse I was like I was talking to one of
73:03 the guys that used to be at meic and he was like really there's way better mice
73:07 out there and I'm like I know but I just I love it and I can't change I just

78:42 NewEgg like where are you going to buy these I mean 3500 for 3570k I could kind
78:47 of see and they do talk about that and the text blurb under it but uh yeah I
78:52 think it's a good choice and then the next one was
78:55 3770k and I I kind of had the same I kind of had the same feeling here where

79:52 and all that other stuff going around but on It's relatively not a problem
