0:01 yes and we're live in theory maybe I
0:05 will definitely check this time because we thought we were live last week and we
0:09 straight up were not live at all so uh
0:14 let's go ahead and fire up twitch here and make sure everything this laptop is
0:18 full of your scrapyard Wars crap oh
0:22 that's cuz I wasn't also looking at it that I was specifically looking at it
0:26 you were like oh I was also looking at yeah no I wasn't this is the laptop you
0:29 were using yeah this is why I love you were you
0:33 also looking at this graphics card yeah are you sure yeah okay how you wouldn't
0:37 sell it to me for $20 $20 for
0:41 a460 you're an
0:44 idiot or more more specifically the guy
0:47 you were trying to buy it from is not an idiot I no I think I said 25 and then he
0:53 was like no 30 and I was like I can't do it 30 bucks for a 460 is pretty good I
1:00 know like that's just you was like what could you even do with that I was like a
1:04 lot actually you could fairly easily play Battlefield 3 yeah yeah totally no
1:10 the 460 is not a terrible card all right so we have quite a show for you guys we
1:15 do have topics but we're probably also going to be teasing the crap out of
1:22 scrapyard the Reckoning the scrapping
1:25 the scrapping that's actually pretty funny I
1:31 I'll be right back I don't think that was me I can't take claim for that I
1:35 think I read that on Twitter that might have been edel or something I think I
1:38 stole that from
1:41 someone the
1:44 scraping I don't know where he went I guess I can do the call outs we've got
1:48 Google IO happened so they were showing off stuff like things that we'll talk
1:53 about later also 980 TI is officially launching at computex potentially and
1:58 some star s assets leaked and the internet went quite crazy and 2K is
2:03 teasing a new game that could potentially be a new Bioshock which is
2:08 cool because I've been benching Bioshock for years it's official scrapyard Wars 2
2:12 the scrap inning nice I don't know whose idea it was but I ripped that off
2:18 hardcore I don't No One Believes it's me so it doesn't matter yeah um what else
2:23 we got I read a bunch of those types of things on Twitter so I think I took it
2:27 from someone but I'm not sure are we ready to roll the intro we
2:31 areop hey it worked oh did you reinstall
2:35 it uh no I didn't I don't know why it's magic it's Christmas
2:40 miracle I love Christmas this show is like my
2:45 Christmas except my Christmas comes every Friday at 4:30 p.m. you know
2:49 what's funny is people have finally stopped asking me what time the wano
2:53 comes on that's an interesting point yeah I
2:57 haven't had anyone ask me in Forever our sponsors Dollar Shave Club Mass drop
3:04 and circle
3:09 alt Squarespace right I see what you did
3:13 there that was what I meant to say but
3:17 no no indeed rectangle
3:20 shift it's a rectangle oh
3:25 oh jeez guys it can you turn your
3:28 speakers off why is this computer lagging so hardcore I'm on it I'm on it
3:32 oh okay um it has been quite the
3:36 freaking week so scrapyard Wars 2 the
3:40 scrap ining was scheduled from
3:44 Two for the first two and 1 half days to
3:47 be like build off and then the third
3:50 like the rest of the third day to be um
3:53 like the judging period okay we ended up
3:57 starting on Monday because we realized we had some crap to do later in the week
4:01 which by the way never got done because
4:04 it took the entire week up until about 2
4:07 o00 today all day every day for
4:11 scrapyard Wars 2 I have no idea how many
4:14 parts it'll be uh the guidance I gave Ed on the editing side editing cuz he I'm
4:21 on fire today um the guidance I gave Ed on the editing side is I don't want
4:25 episodes that are longer than if I tell him 14 minutes I'm going to end up with
4:29 16 and what I actually want is 15 so like
4:33 this is this is this the way most employer
4:36 employee relationships work I have to
4:39 say what I want knowing that I'm not going to get it but I might get something closer to what
4:45 I if we want you somewhere at a certain time we tell you about half an hour
4:49 before we actually want you there right if it's like oh lonus needs to be doing
4:53 this at 4:30 we be like hey lonus you have to be doing this at 4: right that
4:59 makes sense so I have no idea how many
5:02 parts it's going to be it depends on how many amazing moments there are and I can
5:07 tell you having not tagged along for his
5:10 side there's already enough amazing
5:13 moments for a heck of a lot of video yeah um but I have to say this now if
5:20 you guys don't appreciate it when we do
5:24 stuff that's a little cringe don't watch it don't watch it
5:28 yeah cuz it's it's going to be really
5:31 entertaining content but it's going to be do as we
5:36 say not as we do because there's a lot of not as we do at least in my side I'm
5:43 trying to not spoil things yeah my side too should we tell them that the the the
5:47 challenge I mean that only spoils the first like 20 seconds of the first part
5:54 realistically totally up to you what do you think
6:01 I'm conflicted cuz cuz it might make people not bother watch but then it
6:04 might also make people want to watch more oh I think it'll make people want to watch then let's do it yeah okay so
6:10 the first part is coming out on vessel
6:13 uh Saturday night before you keep going I'm getting like Phantom chest mic now
6:17 I'm still wearing mine oh wow like I can feel it but it's not there we've been
6:21 wearing lav mics for the entire week
6:25 okay so part one is coming out on vessel
6:28 Saturday night midnight Pacific so Sunday morning like the very so so the
6:34 border between Saturday and Sunday Pacific time and the theme
6:40 is they have to be water cooled they may not okay give the do you
6:45 want to give maybe don't give the dollar break yeah sure we can save the budgets
6:49 they have to be liquid cooled they may
6:52 not use any off-the-shelf PC liquid
6:56 cooling components and I don't mean buying them at a store I mean you cannot
7:02 use something that's intended for PC water cooling so like you couldn't mount
7:07 a computer fan on a radiator because then that's using that fan to cool the
7:13 radiator so
7:17 enjoy cuz like if you know what you know
7:21 about how handy Luc and I are with tools
7:24 then you and like there's questionable
7:28 availability of certain tools yep yep it wasn't clear going into the
7:32 competition if we were allowed to buy tools if that counted against our budget
7:37 so we definitely had some uh we
7:40 definitely had some things um so yeah
7:43 that's coming out on vessel uh basically in about uh 36 hours and then coming out
7:49 on YouTube the following week and then the parts will be weekly releases so
7:55 there will be no like oh this series disappears after you know
8:00 Home Room water cooling Like Home Room water cooling so every Saturday y it's
8:05 shot it's in editing and I have a lot of people ask why does it take a week in
8:10 between because of editing it takes a
8:13 week to edit we have all the footage Ed sits for an entire week and does nothing
8:18 but edit scrapyard Wars and that episode
8:22 that you guys see is a week's worth of one person's work and a lot of people
8:25 don't understand how much work it is to edit something like scrapyard think
8:29 about like almost 8 hours of footage times two for one day of scrapyard Wars
8:35 just just scrubbing through that footage alone not even putting it together in an
8:40 entertaining format is going to take forever yes sir so uh guys stay tuned
8:46 because I am pretty excited about this one if you enjoy the cringiness if you
8:51 enjoy just the the sheer entertainment Factor honestly we did stuff we knew was
8:58 wrong oh yeah but we had to try time constraints tool constraints scrapyard
9:03 Wars constraints scrapyard Wars constraints Financial
9:07 constraints we did a lot of stuff all right so our first actual topic today is
9:13 Google IO is on there's lots of exciting
9:17 stuff going on Alex Goes High has posted
9:20 a mega thread for it so let's go ahead and full derp so I'll post that link in
9:25 the thing as soon as I can uh it's okay I will uh tell you what I will I will
9:30 grab that one I got it because it takes them a while to catch up anyways you sure yeah I'm here we press and okay uh
9:37 okay so uh what do we got here so there he's updating it as things go uh Google
9:43 and Android is everywhere truly the only Global overlords of Earth you can tell
9:47 this is a forum post and not an article on the verge or something along those
9:51 lines although these are definitely some interesting stats here uh between Chrome
9:56 Android and YouTube they have each so
9:59 search Chrome Android YouTube each have one billion users with how do you have a
10:04 user for search you could I mean it's
10:07 Google but you don't have to be logged in what do they not
10:11 know yeah but it's Google so are they
10:14 counting like guests as users um cuz
10:17 that's weird well they can probably tell cuz people's IPS will change cyclically
10:23 and stuff like that and they can persistent login accounts and stuff the
10:26 way they do targeted advertising so like if you're logged in
10:31 and if they have a billion Chrome users then like probably those people sear I'm
10:36 not trying to say they have less than a billion right I'm trying to say like how
10:39 do you even quantify that and they might have a lot more probably a lot more yeah
10:44 uh Gmail has over 900 million and is closing on a billion fast with that said
10:48 I personally have like half a dozen Gmail accounts so L um I don't know I
10:53 actually I recently I'm doing the Gmail to my kids thing from like the Gmail
10:57 commercial doing it yeah yeah I I wasn't doing it and then when my second one was
11:03 born and we were traveling in Asia I
11:06 realized that they were not going to remember anything about this trip and I
11:10 kind of went well they're not going to remember anything about most of their
11:13 lives and so I used to keep like a diary
11:17 pretty much straight up I had a diary through like most of high school I called it a journal because I didn't
11:21 want people to make fun of me but let's face it what's a journal it's a diary if
11:25 you're manad enough you could admit you have a diary so I had a diary and school
11:29 and so I was I'm actually like this is why this is why I asked to borrow the
11:32 GoPro for when I go to Taiwan oh because when I came back from Europe I had
11:37 decided okay I'm going to start keeping a travel log like not a not a day-to-day
11:41 journal for my whole just call it a travel diary travel diary I think
11:45 they're legitimately called travel
11:49 logs cuz if you only use it for the I don't know sure travel diar I don't care
11:53 but I decided like I was going to do that but now I think I'm just going to
11:56 try to get everything on a GoPro right and have a video version cuz I think
12:00 that's cool I don't have one yet at all I never
12:04 made one I yeah I I don't know if I believe that so we're going to we're
12:07 going to straw pull the crap out of this one guys is turnup going to become our
12:12 thing kids and uh kids and ladies and
12:15 gentlemen does Luke lafrenier have a
12:19 diary I never even acquired one I decided to go with a GoPro you know the
12:23 fact that you're just not man enough to admit
12:26 it 4% of the voters say no 4% my main
12:31 man well seven seven yes is running away
12:35 with it with turnup destroying the no vote is turnup our new thing turnup we
12:40 always put in a random thing did I do turnup twice you've done turnup twice in a row oh I didn't mean to and remember
12:44 we made turnup like a huge deal last time no turn-ups are just like remember
12:48 I like looked it up and like showed a turnup to the camera no there was a book
12:51 that uh that I read as a kid that was I think it's called turnips for supper or
12:55 something like that so I always think of turnips cuz like cuz he read a book when
12:59 you were a kid see that diary's working out for you that's the kind of thing
13:02 that I want so I want my kids to um do
13:06 remember when they read a book about a turnover no that's not what I want I
13:09 want them to I want them to know things that I can't really tell them when
13:13 they're five yeah but that they I think
13:16 it'll mean more having like potentially
13:20 a video and your words at the time
13:23 attached to it instead of like recalling the event so so I and so every email I
13:28 try to attach c a couple pictures or a very short video clip and then I tell
13:33 either stories about them or little things that they do or stories about
13:37 what's going on in our lives cuz I figure one possibility although it's up
13:40 to them is that we could read through them together or one possibility is that
13:45 they'll sit and read them on their own I don't know but I figure and the thing is you could read through them together but
13:49 then it could be a Gob back resource for however long which they might read by
13:53 themselves which is cool yeah it's like or maybe their kids will read it yeah or
13:57 that it's like a modern book yeah so um
14:01 so anyway I decided to do that anyway the point was I have a lot of Gmail
14:04 accounts cuz technically they can't own Gmail accounts even though Google's
14:07 commercial suggested that I have at least 20 that you can do this and then
14:12 when I tried to put in their birthday when I created the Gmail account it was like no you may not okay then um so over
14:20 four I think I think it's it's assumed that you have control of the account so
14:25 I think Google was like well the parent will make it and it will be fine so
14:29 Android M preview six main new features
14:33 hopefully uh one of them is uh better memory management uh app permissions
14:39 management so you can actually manage each app's permissions individually and
14:43 apps will request permissions when they need as opposed to on installation it's
14:47 an iOS thing so that's uh oh it's nice to have it yeah no I agree I'm just
14:51 saying that's that's an iOS thing app links so Android is smarter with web
14:55 links now like a Twitter link on an email we'll immediately open Twitter instead of asking you what to do it that
14:59 every freaking time and like the funniest thing is when it's like a tweet
15:04 that contains a YouTube link and you click it and it like opens up Twitter
15:08 and then it goes away and then it like opens up YouTube once you've already got your defaults like why are you doing
15:12 this much better Android pay creatively
15:18 named is the full replacement of Google
15:21 Wallet it uses NFC and host card emulation and Google says it's about
15:25 Simplicity security and choice works with all four major credit card
15:29 providers Visa Mastercard American Express and discover and will come
15:33 pre-installed on 18t Verizon and T-Mobile new devices so they're going
15:37 for pretty much widespread I mean what
15:42 Sprint remains all the things yeah who
15:46 else is a major carrier in the states does Sprint piggy back off
15:50 someone no no Sprint is Sprints their own netork okay okay I think that's like
15:54 pretty much it yeah um so it'll work in doesn't T-Mobile piggy back off people
15:58 no they their own network okay so it'll work in 700,000 stores in the US and
16:03 also for purchasing blah blah blah okay is that 700,000 like if it works in McDonald's
16:08 is that counting all the McDonald's that are getting it I don't know cuz that
16:13 could be like a couple really big chains so Android pay is not limited to Android
16:18 M however um NFC through fingerprint
16:23 support is limited to M which I think is
16:26 kind of I would want that I would straight up want that with how good the
16:29 fingerprint scanner is on the Galaxy S6
16:33 man that's like freaking awesome like the um that access point the video for
16:38 which is coming out on YouTube at some point it's already up on name uh yeah
16:42 yeah excla yeah um so it has app based
16:46 management and it supports signing in with your uh fingerprint on iOS but not
16:51 on Android man it's nice fire up the app
16:55 Boop in done love it um improved Power
16:58 Man man agement and Hardware support
17:02 So power consumption on Android uh
17:05 mainly with the introduction of do which is a new feature that will use the
17:08 sensors on the device to kill background processes thank
17:11 you when in when the instand by mode
17:15 through alarms and priority surfaces will still be so so alarms and priority
17:19 stuff will still be active but something like I had a huge problem where uh
17:25 bloody hell what's it called Plex was nuking my battery life like I would fire
17:30 up my phone from fresh and if I put it on my bed like my entire like or like
17:36 under a pillow or something and walked away from it leaving the screen off it'd
17:40 be at like 30% battery at the end of the day having done nothing no screen time
17:44 and like was like a a a toaster inside
17:47 there like it was just churning this thing is supposed to have what a day and
17:51 a half or two days of battery y uh I get
17:54 most of a day well you've got something installed that's nuking it and my wife
17:58 too um Yvonne is running like tried to figure it out yet but I'm sure there is
18:02 something she's running a 1 M8 and she get her battery dies at like 4:30 like
18:07 every day taran's just walking down the street wearing his helmet uh oh he's
18:11 getting his bike out of my car okay yeah don't worry I was like what the hell no
18:16 no he's okay everything is okay uh
18:19 Android M will include native support for USB type c so uh that with that
18:25 comes with some special features so uh using your device to charge another
18:29 device would be one because USB type-c can both accept and output power so
18:34 that's pretty cool um what else we got new minor features including improved
18:39 word selection copy paste and more independent volume controls for alarms
18:43 apps and music thank you this is something that some skin makers do but
18:48 others don't it drives me crazy I love the Droid Turbo but there are a couple
18:52 of things that super duper make me mad about it and not having those individual
18:57 volume sliders easily accessible is definitely one of them I still don't
19:02 think it's clear what Android m is going to stand for I think one of the Front
19:07 Runners is what marshmallow that would make sense the first thing that came to
19:10 mind for me was munchie I figured M&M's
19:13 but that's just kind of awkward and long yeah it's amazing how quickly we're
19:19 getting uh we're getting M over lollipop lollipop was a very shortlived uh
19:25 Android compared toat I am totally 100%
19:28 okay with that I was not a huge fan of Lollipop all right so there's a bunch of
19:32 other stuff so there's more about Google cardboard um so the new design fits 6in
19:37 smartphones and the SDK also now supports iOS and they talked about how
19:41 they're going to start moving away from cardboard yeah that's that's good I
19:46 guess yeah it's actually quite interesting where even are these notes
19:51 oh they're just not in here yeah oh they're not in there there's way too
19:54 much Google IO is crazy there's a bunch of stuff for Android Wear I mean they've
19:57 continued to roll trying keep up with you looking at the
20:01 actual Dock and I'm like I don't know where he's getting this no there's nothing in there um so like one example
20:06 of a relatively new feature is you can flick and then scroll through things if
20:10 you aren't able to scroll with your hand through your notifications um my gat R
20:14 charger replacement hasn't actually arrived yet but Ed has the gatr as well
20:19 and was telling me I kind of laughed at him when he showed it to me I was like
20:23 really you're going to like go like this and like flick through things like that
20:27 he's like actually it's pretty handy like you're holding an umbrella or
20:30 you're like holding something and a notification comes in boop boop boop
20:33 okay anyone other than you that's currently driving all right yep I buy it
20:37 I buy it so um yeah they've actually got
20:41 a neat little chart here of Android Weare as it's continued to develop it's
20:45 funny because no matter how good Android Wear is Apple has still sold more of
20:50 like individual skews within the Apple watch lineup as Android Weare devices
20:55 total yeah um so yeah here you go you can actually see so so Wi-Fi came in
20:59 always on apps came in new launcher happened Emoji recognizer wrist gestures
21:04 Maps API lots of stuff came in the May update that I haven't tried yet so I'm
21:09 I'm pretty excited to try that out as soon as my charger gets here um I guess
21:14 that's probably enough google.io for now how much do you guys care about Google
21:17 IO I think we should revisit the does Luke have a diary straw pole just to get
21:21 a final tally here 56% of you figure yes
21:24 indeed Luke does have a diary literally
21:28 has no physical thory was going to do it then thought of GoPro would have
21:32 definitely done it I think travel stuff is cool at the very least logging what
21:37 you did in your travels I think is very cool mhm mhm okay do you still have your
21:42 Diaries yes I do oh that's kind of cool yeah they're actually they would be
21:46 unless I was dead and my house was being cleared out you probably wouldn't find
21:51 them cuz they're like I mean it's high school so they're like hyper
21:56 embarrassing like freaking brutal Co
21:59 that makes sense yeah there's like there is stuff in there that just
22:04 no that just no were you like no holds
22:07 bar just whatever is going on oh yeah oh
22:10 yeah I was like because I never intended for anyone to read it and I was super
22:15 duper careful that no one ever read it
22:18 cuz it's like has Aon read it
22:21 no oh man are you kidding okay I changed
22:26 my mind Luke doesn't have a diary because if he did he would understand
22:30 that your wife doesn't read it I I
22:33 actually don't I would have definitely got a travel diary I believe you I might
22:38 even still log certain things if I don't get them on the GoPro I'm shutting down
22:41 that straw pole never going to look at it again because I believe you all right
22:45 so wccf Tech reports I posted the link
22:48 already um that the GTX
22:51 980ti will launch on June 2nd at
22:56 computex brings competitive graphics
22:59 performance to
23:03 GeForce
23:06 what I I didn't even see that I didn't
23:10 even see that sub headline like are you
23:13 for real anyway
23:17 wccf they're going to have an event on June the 2nd it is rumored to be a live
23:22 stream where they are going to reveal it this teaser pretty much says what it's
23:28 going to be it'll be yet another card with that Dam cooler on it so Brandon's
23:32 going to have to figure out the world's most creative way to make yet another
23:37 identical looking NVIDIA card try to fly it around on a drone and stuff you
23:41 should just like I don't know like we're going to just have to start doing aerial
23:45 footage of them yeah to get a different shot from what we had before you know if
23:50 they waited until we moved into our new office we're getting a jib so we'd be
23:55 able to do like jib shots
23:58 now slightly different shot of what
24:02 looks exactly the same it's funny I was
24:05 um cuz I mean they they teased the graphics card right can you tell if it's
24:09 silver or black uh it's silver can you tell yeah yeah you can tell it's silver
24:14 so we were we were joking about this we figured hey if we don't get a sample in
24:18 time from NVIDIA we can just do all our b-roll of another NVIDIA card and then
24:23 like whatever we'll put like a text correction actually the capacitors are
24:26 in slightly different places we we got the real one now it's a little different worry about
24:30 it like straight up um so blah blah blah
24:34 it'll be the fastest gForce 900 series card aside from the Titan X which is
24:39 technically not gForce it brings performance to GeForce gForce yeah so
24:44 it's got to be the fastest one okay CU it introduced performance to
24:49 GeForce sure and I don't know how they figure the Titan X sold more than the
24:54 original Titan and even gtx690
24:58 um maybe they mean in terms of price
25:02 okay whatever apparently the uh the the
25:05 rumored specification so I'll go ahead and fire this up because I don't I feel
25:08 like the original Titan sold a lot yeah because it was more useful as a like as
25:14 a as a double Precision like card the
25:17 fact that the Titan X doesn't has neuter double Precision performance just like
25:21 the GeForce cards really kills it for a lot of developers uh the GTX 98 is
25:27 apparently going to rock a gm200 core it is a cutdown chip that features 2,816
25:33 Cuda cores um blah blah blah blah the
25:36 only site still reporting specifications aside from the one leaked by Hardware
25:39 battle who have rumored 372 course uh
25:43 blah blah blah blah blah etc etc etc apparently it'll have 6 gigs of gddr5
25:48 vram compared to 12 gigs on the Titan X which is probably fine which is probably
25:53 probably on the money compared to the if we look at GTX 780ti versus
25:59 which is the most similar comparison we can make because that's going to be the
26:03 cut down actually Flagship core whereas
26:07 GTX um oh no GTX 780 was based on the
26:12 same core yeah but still hm okay now
26:15 hold on just a second here was it not yeah no 780 so no 780 to Titan is a more
26:21 similar comparison to what the rumored 980 TI is to Titan x uh because 780 Ti
26:28 had all functional units enabled it lacks double Precision but and it didn't
26:32 have a huge frame buffer but it actually had all the functional units so um so
26:38 980 would be more similar to like a 770
26:42 so it's funny the way they do that where they actually like they creep up the
26:47 model number relative to what the actual
26:50 under the hood Hardware is which is super annoying I wish they'd make our
26:54 lives easier just be like this is how it slots Titan cart
26:58 that is our top tier GPU it has everything and a huge frame buffer and
27:03 double Precision maybe next step down is
27:06 the cut down one of that and even that's confusing because the fact that a 980
27:10 and a 980 TI are rumored to be based on
27:15 completely different gpus same Maxwell
27:18 architecture completely different gpus
27:21 is pretty irritating and pretty frustrating to me it's weird it should
27:26 be like Titan and and Titan TI they
27:30 should have just called it 970 and 960 TI in the first place and released the
27:35 rumored 960 as a 960 then um which I
27:39 mean was rumored to be coming out ages ago and just straight up never happened
27:44 so I don't know how much the yawning this week has been
27:48 exhausting mainly from scrapyard Wars yeah it has been really really really
27:53 tiring wait a minute gtx960 does exist
27:57 did I just miss that this hold on a second when did that come
28:01 out did I just completely derp I think I sent you a card that I wanted us to
28:05 review a version of a 960 did we never do one that was the white and red
28:10 one no this is like totally out when did this happen did we did we do a
28:15 video April 28th 960 stricks we covered this we
28:21 covered a few of these cards wow and then I wanted you to do the white and
28:25 red one for my well whatever my point still stands 960 could have come out
28:29 later oh that's right cuz it was rumored to come out right away wow guys I am
28:33 running on so little sleep I I I even
28:38 hosted one of those videos I know for sure I hosted one of them oh that's
28:43 funny wow this one I sent you this and asked
28:48 if we could review it right the asusa white and red 960 all right well
28:53 whatever my point still stands some consistency in the naming scheme with
28:57 respect to What GPU is actually inside it would be super D duper nice
29:02 NVIDIA um I guess that's pretty much all there is to say about it uh 3D Mark fire
29:07 strike score is rumored to be around 14,000 points which puts it within
29:12 spitting distance of the Titan X and a lot higher than a GTX 980 which is
29:16 somewhere in the 11,000 to 11,500 range
29:20 so there you go guys once again or not
29:24 even once again I don't remember the time they've done this a TI card is is
29:28 like way better than the non-ti card whereas the ti was supposed to be like a
29:33 little bit of a bum yeah it's like Pro it's a little bit better build quality
29:39 and like faster but not that much faster don't worry about it um so yeah very
29:46 interesting my laptop's lagging again yeah that's fine I'll uh I'll go ahead
29:51 and fire up the link here just the next no problem I got it I got it so you were
29:55 able to share it before I was able to scroll to it
30:00 Volvo did a demo for uh for a safety
30:04 feature for a particular car the
30:08 XC60 and instead of automatically stopping it
30:13 drove into a group of onlookers who were
30:17 expecting the vehicle to automatically
30:20 stop unfortunately according to Volvo
30:23 spokesperson Stefan elmstrom
30:26 excuse EXC me elstrom and that that o
30:30 with the dots above it I know that's not how you pronounce it I give up um the
30:34 system is not meant to be used in this fashion and the the it's for it's for
30:38 City Safety it's supposed to avoid rear Enders with other cars not detecting
30:43 pedestrians that system is $3,000 extra
30:46 and is named The Pedestrian detection system which was not in this
30:51 thing so uh yeah it's only about a 30 second long video so we might as well
30:56 just a hilarious we might as well just cringe and uh apparently no one was
31:00 seriously hurt so we can sort of yeah so
31:05 this was at a dealer so the dealer in question was oh my goodness
31:11 wow that looks extremely painful yep hey
31:15 guys so the de the dealer in question
31:18 was trying to demonstrate the city safety feature but that system is not
31:22 able to detect pedestrians cuz it lacked the optional pedestrian Det detection
31:28 system now this is something that is not
31:31 unique to Volvo in fact when we were in
31:35 Germany uh working on that video with the BMW 1 Series BMW specifically said
31:41 you know well hey this particular model at this trim level has detection for
31:46 this and not this or this and not this so I mean here's a here's a great
31:51 example oh shoot I forget what exactly they told me but it was that um
31:58 right it worked for cars and not
32:02 pedestrians because of something to do with like it would right because if if
32:07 you're trying to in a lot of uh in a lot of territories in a lot of places like
32:11 maybe less of an issue in Germany maybe less of an issue here but in a lot of
32:14 places the only way to to turn onto a street when people are just walking
32:18 across it is to kind of inch your way forward so they leave The Pedestrian
32:23 detection off because otherwise you'd never move anywhere and I went oh crap I
32:28 didn't think of that yeah me neither that's not a thing here straight up did
32:31 not think of that yeah wow that blows
32:34 yeah look at my yeah your your computer is boned
32:38 um so I'm going just read here Volvo has
32:42 also said that even if the car was equipped with that system the driver's
32:46 foot on the accelerator would have overridden the automated system and they
32:49 State I would like to emphasize that Volvo car strongly recommends to never
32:54 perform any of these tests towards a real human only dummies or similar
32:57 object should be used so they're probably super not stoked with that
33:01 dealership imagine how pissed like Volvo head office is at that
33:05 dealership like who thought that was a good idea that is just that is just
33:12 that's cringe even compared to the scrapyard War series we're about to
33:15 release which is pretty cringe pretty cringe oh God it's pretty cringe so okay
33:21 guys I want to uh this is this is going to be a good straw pull this is going to
33:25 be a good straw pull straw pull.me because our um get turn
33:31 ups no problem I got this
33:35 um have you heard of the graphics card
33:39 maker
33:44 colorful all right so permissive vote
33:47 duplication checking your poll has been created here we go have you heard of
33:53 colorful because our audience is pretty heavily skewed towards Australia North
33:59 America and countries in Europe where
34:02 they speak a lot of English whether we're talking the UK or whether we're
34:06 talking Germany like places where English is very widespread and colorfuls
34:11 main main territory of strength is not exactly in those places so I would love
34:17 to I'd love to hear from you guys wow we are not getting many votes for have you
34:22 heard of colorful uh do you have this uh do you have this news I like do you want
34:28 do you want to do a reboot what is going on I can do a reboot it's there you go
34:31 there you go it but I don't know if it's going to you got notes there we go all
34:35 right so you want to tell them about colorful while we watch these votes come in with over 50% of our viewers saying
34:41 they have never heard of colorful the graphics card maker they're kind of
34:45 fantastic they're huge by the way but anyways colorful is a China based
34:48 company selling cards in the Chinese market that is probably all you really
34:52 need to know to be completely honest carful started out I heard there's a billion people in China and continues to
34:58 be a a vendor of wacky over-the-top GeForce GTX cards payot is the biggest
35:02 graphics card manufacturer by volume with a brand portfolio that includes
35:06 Galaxy gain word point of view and its own namesake colorful could become the
35:11 second largest graphics card maker in terms of shipments by the end of the
35:14 year next to only payot which honestly a lot of people in those demographics that
35:19 you were just talking about probably don't know palot that well either yeah
35:22 um I'm sure they know of them but not that well I only know this because I
35:26 tried to I I was the I was actually the
35:29 product manager for its pallet uh I was
35:32 the product manager for pallet when they tried to expand into North America um
35:38 but they uh it was totally unsuccessful and they bailed um but yeah yeah pallet
35:44 is huge as well they have like but the problem is that like at the time anyway
35:50 uh you know the people I talked to they didn't seem to really understand what
35:54 the North American Consumer cared about like when I sit down and have a meeting
35:58 with them it'd be like yeah so uh you
36:03 know we have huge production capacity I'm like
36:07 okay why is a customer going to buy your card well we can supply so many graphics
36:12 cards we are the number one largest graphics card maker I'm like right but
36:16 why are they going to buy it instead of an EVGA card because EVGA is a monster
36:20 in North America if it's not EVGA it's
36:24 straight up not worth as much for some reason I I can't quite understand it
36:28 myself but um there you go uh and and and it never
36:35 really got any further than that
36:38 so both of those guys pallet and
36:41 colorful just have some some challenges to overcome before they can yeah I'm
36:45 going to show this in a minute before they can they can penetrate the markets
36:48 where most of our viewers are based you know it's another one that a lot of
36:52 people don't realize is as big as it is is tool T Tu um that's uh if I recall
36:59 correctly that's power color which by the way is different from colorful power
37:03 color I believe Zotac and
37:06 Sapphire I think tul is uh T is sapphire
37:10 I don't want to get that wrong
37:15 though don't remember who Vision Tech is no no no no no no apparently tul is okay
37:20 uh daughter while you search for that colorful has been uh clocking an average
37:24 of 500,000 graphics cards shipped per month
37:28 that's a lot isn't that crazy that's
37:32 insane wow geez they're projected to have
37:36 shipped over 5 million cards in 2015 okay I know Zotac and Sapphire are under
37:42 they're they're actually owned by the same um products graphics cards tool
37:46 might just be power color in terms of graphics cards uh colorful has outsold
37:52 ASUS MSI Gigabyte and
37:56 Zotac look at that pretty insane yeah tool is just power color I derped there
38:00 but yeah but zo okay so yeah so that's something a lot of people don't realize is the brand names that they buy from
38:05 sometimes don't have a whole ton to do with the the companies that are actually
38:09 making them so companies like ASUS and Gigabyte and MSI they make and brand and
38:15 support their own graphics card someone like EVGA is not a graphics card
38:19 manufacturer they design but they do not actually build graphics cards they they
38:25 contract out um so anyway uh just some
38:28 idea why colorful probably doesn't do quite as well in North America as they
38:31 do in China that is one of their iame
38:35 graphics cards that's a 660 Ti and boy is it ever colorful um there were some
38:40 when I was researching them when I found out they were the going to be the
38:43 biggest maker in the world I found some other just like banan stuff as well like
38:47 look at this thing have you seen their Wow have you seen their like $1,300
38:53 gtx980 no I haven't look at how big it
38:57 is is uh let's see if I can I can find that one is this it no that's not it
39:02 it's very oh is this it yeah that's it so that's their $1,300 triple slot
39:08 gtx980 so they're just they're just kind of out there in terms of of their
39:12 designs which is which is kind of cool I mean it's neat to be doing something a little bit different but uh oh I got
39:18 signed out of my Google account what the
39:21 IE game what the heck with a way too
39:24 expensive 980 and I have to do my twostep
39:28 I I guess my my 30 days is up or whatever yeah
39:33 yeah I lik the rainbow motherboard from
39:36 MSI back in the day looking at that card that you just showed motherb both Gigabyte and MSI
39:43 were like that beautiful MSI 975
39:47 motherboard so attractive I think this is probably the era you're thinking
39:52 of um oh no hold on no when did MSI
39:58 start doing the there was actually a rainbow board wasn't there no no they
40:01 didn't have a rainbow board but they had one that had a roller coaster yeah the
40:06 roller coaster was sick I I'll see if I can find here okay yeah here oh maybe it
40:10 was Gigabyte maybe it was Gigabyte okay so this this was a hilarious motherboard
40:15 so great uh no this was this was MSI
40:18 this was MSI that was what we said that's what I thought right so they did
40:22 this for a while this like roller coaster of heat pipes thing uh here's
40:27 another one here's a bit of an older one that's a P35 board um and Gigabyte used
40:33 to have some just abominable looking
40:36 motherboards as well uh this is probably what you're thinking in terms of like
40:40 rainbow board right I think that was it cuz the RAM slots yeah look at that four
40:44 colors of RAM slots different colors here orange purple blue light yellow
40:49 yellow green blue purple copper that's
40:54 silver White so many oh my goodness that was a cool
40:59 board though and we're probably going to see some designs like this again because
41:02 this was back when DDR3 was first coming out and like stuff like this four
41:07 different colors of slots for adding cards yeah that's a really old AMD board
41:12 that one that you're looking at so we're probably going to see stuff like this
41:15 again because this was a pretty common thing back when ddr2 or back when DDR 3
41:20 was first coming out it was prohibitively expensive and so you can
41:24 actually see this board has two sets of d D R2 slots so four ddr2 dims or two
41:30 DDR3 dims because the Assumption was if you were buying DDR3 you were not buying
41:36 four sticks of it so it was supposed to be like an upgrade path not that it will
41:40 make sense this time not that it made sense last time just buy a board that
41:44 accepts the memory you're putting into it now and don't worry about that stuff
41:48 but the upcoming CPUs from Intel Skylake
41:51 if I recall correctly is when we're going to actually have support for both ddr2 or both DDR3 and ddr4 on the memory
41:59 controller so we'll be able to do apples to apples comparisons even more apples
42:02 to apples than we did before which by the way was pretty Apples to Apples for
42:05 the people complaining about my DDR3 versus ddr4 test um and we'll actually
42:10 be able to do them on the same board um
42:14 so yeah DDR3 has really dropped in price lately hey distribution of clicks for
42:19 the straw pole geographically oh they have that apparently so United States
42:24 48% uh UK 12% Canada 12% and then it
42:29 falls off a cliff at least cuz Australia is sleeping yeah yeah Australia
42:33 Australia likes to watch The W show in the morning I think yeah all right so oh
42:40 my computer's locked up oh it's back you are just not having a good time I don't
42:45 know what's going on with this thing it's just been a rough week and I think
42:49 we just need to it's so hot I know it's really hot in here I'm really looking
42:54 forward to the new office really looking
42:57 forward to the new office all right so this is a rumor from
43:02 Apple Insider do you have this or should I just do it cuz I could just do it I
43:07 think I got it uh the original oh the op here is dead hero and actually I should
43:14 uh I should find some other Ops because I haven't been saying them I'm sorry
43:18 guys aing for the colorful one uh raahi
43:22 Kumar SP for the Volvo one someone spelled his name wrong when they
43:27 for the GTX 980ti rumor and Alex Goes
43:32 High I believe I did mention and he's doing a great job of maintaining that
43:35 thread with uh with all the I really like that when someone does show
43:39 coverage and they keep the thread updated Victorious does that a lot of
43:42 the time events yeah okay so Microsoft may be rumored to
43:49 be interested in acquiring Blackberry so we could have a we could
43:56 have the least phone platform with all the security
44:01 that Blackberry brings to a phone
44:04 platform with their expertise and patents and stuff I would really much
44:08 rather Apple or Google acquired them straight just straight up because so
44:13 many more devices would be able to take advantage of blackberry's expertise
44:16 because let's face it their expertise isn't making phones that people buy no
44:20 their expertise is mobile device security and I would love for some of
44:24 that influence to be on the Android platform um or even iOS which isn't that
44:28 bad compared to Android um so there you
44:32 go I kind of liked it I'm sorry I kind of liked it uh oh the iPhone yeah it's
44:37 not that bad there's things that I made why why don't you just talk about it cuz you're not going to be doing a review so
44:41 we can we can talk about this rumor which there's not really much to say
44:44 there's a rumor in fact why don't I just finish this um Microsoft likely
44:49 motivated by a desire to deepen its Fay into the mobile Enterprise and gain
44:52 access to blackberry's patent Trove same reason anyone would be interested in
44:56 BlackBerry Chinese technology firms Huawei Lenovo and Zi have also expressed
45:00 interest no party has taken definite steps towards an activition which
45:04 basically means this article is fluff and blackberry sold some 1.6 million
45:09 phones during its fiscal fourth quarter whereas Apple sold 74.5 million in the
45:14 same period 1.6 million phones is not going to keep you in business Blackberry
45:17 I'm very sorry I do love you dearly but I just wish your technology was in a phone platform that I actually want to
45:22 use carry on talk about your iOS experience how long you on it okay so
45:26 what month yeah okay um first time right yes iMessage is great iMessage just
45:32 craps all over Hangouts like it's
45:36 disgusting iMessage is just so much better there's so much crap all over
45:40 Hangouts you just don't even want to touch it anymore that bad huh I don't I
45:44 don't find Hangouts that bad but I don't like using Hangouts as a mix I don't
45:47 like it either hand it well is great as
45:50 just web messaging that is synced with your phone I think that's really good um
45:55 but I I don't like I message to use it for text messaging so then you have to
45:59 use messaging as well and messaging is garbage so then you have to use some
46:04 other app and then that some other app doesn't really work with your Smartwatch
46:07 very well so then that's a garbage and it's just frustrating um and then all of
46:13 the rest of the things that I like about the phone have nothing to do with the fact that it's an iPhone right 100% to
46:19 do with the fact that apps are usually made better for the iPhones like Instagram works way better
46:24 the Twitter app on iOS is way nicer are just that I didn't like uh how the phone
46:31 worked in terms of customizability I didn't like that I can't really mess
46:35 with my homepage as much as I did before I don't like that I can't change a lot
46:39 of things but iMessage being so good and
46:44 all the apps being just better developed for iOS was really nice mainly because I
46:48 use Instagram and Twitter a lot right
46:51 and like Instagram's huge like this phone trying to take a picture with it
46:54 I'm like wow this looks terrible and then I click the take photo button and
46:59 it's like wow it looks way better that's dumb and then I upload it on Instagram
47:04 and I'm like wow it looks bad
47:07 again what like what do I do and then on
47:10 an iPhone it's like okay it looks like this press button K it still looks like
47:14 that I'll put to Instagram K yeah okay everything's fine I don't know yep so
47:19 frustrating and I mean another great example would be vessel um vessel still
47:24 doesn't have an Android app why don't they have an Android app because whether
47:29 people like it or not I don't care and is that Android's fault no I still
47:33 really like Android but it's just it's nice when you get all the apps so I
47:37 don't if you don't like this I don't care it's been it's been tackled again
47:41 and again and again and there's there could be a a billion different reasons
47:45 for why but iOS users spend more money
47:49 on apps they are much more likely to pay for an app I don't care why let's not
47:53 get into why socioeconomic blah blah blah blah blah I don't care someone in
47:58 the chat was like doesn't know how to focus no that's actually a I was making
48:02 two comments in one it it takes the photo fine it looks like garbage and you
48:07 take the photo and it looks really good and I could transfer that off to onto my
48:10 computer and it would look fine and everything's good it's it's when you
48:13 upload things to Instagram on Android it kills the quality and this is exactly
48:17 one of the issues with Android is someone over there who has a viewfinder
48:21 whose preview is actually very close to the picture you take is probably telling
48:25 you you don't know what you're doing but actually my Moto X did it fine many
48:29 Android phones have viewfinders that look very little like the finished
48:33 picture uh my Droid Turbo for example not to the same extent but does have a
48:38 viewfinder that looks significantly worse than the finished picture um and
48:42 it's it's a it's a processing thing it's an optimization thing and does it really
48:47 matter as long as my picture looks good I guess not but it doesn't cuz you're
48:51 uploading to Instagram but it's part of the experience and then that's a different step that's the Instagram app
48:56 compression not being handled as well on the Android and it's hard to tell like
48:59 how good the photo you're taking is until after you take it which is stupid
49:04 and kind of hurts the experience and the other thing is app availability so if
49:08 you're developing a paid app or an app for a paid service like vessel you're
49:11 spending all of your time and all of your money developing the iOS one
49:15 because whether whether you guys personally like it or not I don't care
49:18 um Apple iOS users are more likely to
49:22 pay for a service that they're using um
49:25 so you ask government proposes to classify cyber security or hacking tools
49:31 as weapons of war isn't the future going to be an interesting time uh this was
49:36 posted by fa Salo and the original article here is from beta news looks a
49:41 little something like that I'm I'm sharing it right now and
49:46 it's funny because in spite of all the NSA stuff that's happened over the last
49:51 couple of years and and all of the concern that we have about our about our
49:56 ongoing online privacy and privacy in general I mean you look at what
50:00 countries like China are doing where they're creating these social marit
50:05 programs for their citizens where they're just straight up no not even
50:10 hiding it we are spying on literally everything you do don't screw it up um
50:16 which is insane I mean including like political opinion I don't I don't I like
50:23 I don't see
50:27 I don't see why most people would need
50:30 tools for um would would need intrusion
50:35 software most people shouldn't need that but let's say for example you are a
50:40 white hat okay and you're working on
50:44 attacking something to find out how to
50:47 block against an attack this is absolutely a thing and so how do how
50:53 does the law get amended to account for that because let's face it the you can't
50:56 penetration test your own system you're going to be sitting duck and the guys
51:00 who are going to break the law are going to break the law the guys who are out
51:03 there trying to siph in tens of millions of dollars from bank accounts or
51:07 whatever it is that they're trying to to take advantage of what what was the one
51:11 where it was uh it was taking pennies off of transactions in Flight that must
51:16 have been about a year ago or something like that yeah isn't that the storyline
51:19 of office space too I can't remember but like I think it happened I'm just saying
51:24 yeah but but but anyway are these guys is really going to be deterred by oh you
51:28 know well I guess on top of the millions of dollars we're stealing we'll also own
51:31 a weapon of War I mean it might deter the average you know high school kid who
51:36 wants to just you know be a dork script Kitty and attack something but um it
51:41 just seems kind of like tightening the
51:44 so much what defines a hacking tool yeah can you just generally classify a whole
51:49 bunch of different distributions of Linux as hacking tools because they get used for that so
51:55 the new definition of intrusion software is a tool which is capable of extraction
51:59 and or modification of data or information from a computer or network enabled device but like there's
52:05 distributions of L I don't remember what it's called but there's distributions of
52:09 Linux that you use for attacking rotors but you can use it for back back
52:15 Trace back back Trace I don't know
52:18 whatever moving on all right so uh op
52:23 here is Twisted dictator in the original article is from polygon do you have this
52:27 link yeah it seems to be working a little bit better now oh all right it kind of pulled things together here so
52:32 there has been a Star Citizen
52:36 leak so you can see the future of Star Citizen thanks to a leak okay I didn't
52:41 pull together enough oh you didn't manage to post the link yet I did but
52:45 the the the site's not really
52:48 loading go go go go go yay
52:52 internet so we can see some ships B
52:55 stinger sick hey wow look how gorgeous that
52:59 looks I want this game to be a thing with the with the very limited rendering
53:04 options in the graphics setting and stuff right now you can't even turn it up to look this good I mean look at that
53:08 look at the Shadows look at the illumination like parts of the wait what
53:14 this isn't an engine H yeah this is an engine yeah yeah so you can obviously
53:18 turn it up to look that good this is user you can't even run anti-aliasing is
53:23 this not user leak no what because that looks like we've
53:27 got some it was a 50 Gigabyte it was a 48 Gigabyte download hold on a
53:33 second leaked by Community manager yeah
53:37 he he accidentally leaked part of a URL someone guessed the rest of the URL and
53:40 it was a download that was 48 gabt some
53:44 of the leaked material could include story spoilers guys so if you don't want
53:50 any information on the Squadron 42 storyline before you play it you
53:54 probably shouldn't do any anything um so
53:57 the download had a lot of different things assets um people extracted them
54:02 and then basically
54:05 um put them in in engine so there you go
54:09 guys we were looking at stuff that isn't in the game but can be kind of hack
54:14 sored in there yeah so someone recorded that so that looks that good on a user's
54:17 computer I didn't even think cuz I thought it has no support for AA and
54:21 that looked really sharp but yeah but haven't you played in engine already it
54:25 looks really sharp without a yeah anyways a sort of you still have some
54:29 issues here there okay okay you're right now that I've blown It Up full screen it
54:33 doesn't look quite as impressive as it did before it still looks pretty good
54:37 though yeah yeah and one thing is there's a lot more thin and dense uh I
54:43 don't remember what it's called but when there's like lots of stuff there there's a lot more of that on this ship than
54:47 most of the ships I've got very cool so it turns out they are actually working
54:51 on it so that's good yeah videos are
54:55 rendered in yeah all right so Google
54:58 files P oh in engine not in real time
55:02 okay there you go that probably helped it Google files a patent for a smart
55:06 teddy bear that would watch and listen to users so this was posted by
55:11 Annihilation that's kind of a funny username for that particular post on the
55:16 Forum let's go ahead and pop this up the original article was on the mirror and
55:22 apparently that one's gone now yay sorry we cannot find that page
55:28 uh let's go ahead and globalnews.ca also has Works yay
55:33 Canada okay we talk about Creepy Petty uh Petty bears that went somewhere
55:40 worse wow all right so it describes a stuffed
55:45 toy such as a bear that would be able to control devices like TV and music
55:49 players so look look how creepy this drawing is microphones oh God cameras
55:57 speakers Motors world's creepiest toy so using
56:04 sensors and cameras it could sense your presence and turn its head around to
56:08 look at you um with a pass phrase it could activate and you could voice
56:13 control stuff um the patent filing was published last week but they actually
56:16 applied for the patent back in 2010 and Google's only real statement
56:21 was H we hold patents on a variety of ideas that's fun way of putting it some
56:25 of those ideas later mature into real products or Services some
56:29 don't so uh it doesn't sound like they're super confident yeah I I I
56:34 suspect it's going to be a while before anything like that happens however like
56:37 in that form
56:41 like you know like like Chucky style it's going to be a while before we see
56:45 anything like that but it's not imagine
56:48 a Furby that also recorded everything you
56:52 did like you know how creepy people thought the Furbies were
56:56 yeah yeah so think about a Furby that also records everything I mean is the
57:00 idea really that different from uh this
57:03 bad boy right here I forget what this thing's called but I remember we talked
57:07 about it on the uh we talked about it on W show oh you don't even want to see
57:12 he's showing me his his his hair is all like matted down from his watch like
57:16 mine's like no but mine's wet yeah oh well my whole ARM's wet that's why you
57:20 can't tell
57:24 H okay so what is what is this bloody thing called uh creators of the cognitoy
57:30 yeah that's the one so this is the dinosaur that uses IBM super computer to
57:34 answer questions that you ask it and learn over time and stuff like that so
57:39 you know is Google's idea really is is putting a camera and a microphone and
57:42 speakers on it really that far away I think this one already has a microphone and speakers it just doesn't have a
57:46 camera so smart toys are going to be a thing I just I don't know that I want it
57:50 to be like my TV remote you know and
57:53 that was kind of covered by the Google Patent but then again I guess you go ahead and patent something early enough
57:59 and you don't even have to be the one who builds it and you can still benefit
58:02 from that MH all right uh Microsoft manages to cut the
58:07 bandwidth required for cloud game streaming by over 80% this was posted by
58:12 Victoria Secret the original article here is from geek.com do you have the
58:16 link here yeah this is a really big deal
58:20 because the two main hurdles for
58:23 cloud-based gaming number one is going to be late
58:27 as fiber connections roll out that will
58:31 become less of an issue as companies get
58:35 serious about their cloud gaming Services they will start to roll out
58:39 more hubs so there will be a much better chance that you're close enough to a
58:44 center to like a a render Center in order to play the game but number two is
58:49 data limits I mean you talk to Gamers
58:52 and many of them are still buying physical media because they're download
58:56 limit is so50 Gab games are a thing I I've personally know people that bought
59:00 Witcher 3 cuz they're like well I'll go over my bandwidth cap so I bought a
59:04 physical copy straight up so game streaming is a way that your games
59:09 bandwidth use can be the gift that keeps on giving every time you play it you are
59:14 downloading more but
59:18 instead um and it's it's funny the the
59:22 article points out you'd think someone like Sony would be more concerned with
59:25 this actually I would have expected NVIDIA to be on top of something like
59:29 this but um basically what it does is it
59:32 actually uses the power of the game console or tablet or other device on the
59:37 other side to do some of the rendering and why would you expect Sony to be more
59:41 on top of this when Microsoft has been talking about this since before the Xbox
59:45 came out yeah this has been the the golden ticket that never showed up for
59:49 the Xbox one yeah um so basically the
59:52 local machine will do some of the work while the heavy lifting can be done on a
59:58 remote machine local GPU will do a rough sketch essentially and then the server
60:03 still does uh Shadows texture mapping and fine grain
60:07 details very very cool and it makes a huge difference to the amount of data
60:12 required to stream a game without impacting how the game plays so they used it on Doom 3 streamed at 60 FPS
60:17 with and this is based on the article so we haven't seen it with no discernable
60:21 difference between streaming with and without kahawai or kah or whatever
60:27 they're whatever they're calling this this uh bandwidth reduction tool it's
60:31 the Hawaiian word for stream apparently but yeah I I don't know how to pronounce
60:34 that so apparently there's also no noticeable differences in response times but again we were not the ones that
60:39 tested this I mean if Microsoft's plan
60:42 all along was to have the Xbox One
60:46 basically capable of competing with the PlayStation 5 or something like that
60:52 where they could really stretch out that life cycle by doing cloud based
60:56 rendering who knows maybe in 5 years or 8 years we're going to be going holy
61:00 crap did they ever have the right idea with the xbone they're taking their
61:04 sweet freaking time with it but yeah
61:08 that could be really interesting that was by Victoria Secret
61:11 I don't know if we called that it or not y yes I did also someone in the chat
61:15 when we were talking about smart toys um
61:18 posted smart dildo with a whole bunch of Kappa faces if you don't think those
61:22 exist you're crazy anyways there's a tech tip for you
61:27 moving on just a tip um until AMD form new cross licens
61:33 Graphics included yeah that so they've got a new cross cross licensing
61:36 agreement uh basically they've AMD has clarified it um a change of control
61:44 terminates the agreement for both so I think uh this is more in Intel's
61:49 interest than anyone else's but if AMD
61:52 were to be acquired that would be a changing control so if for example were
61:57 to acire AMD which is one of the rumors that's been floating around about AMD an
62:01 AMD acquisition uh the cross-licensing agreement where AMD and Intel won't
62:07 pursue patent infringements against each other um that allows AMD to produce
62:13 x86 processors so the kind that runs
62:16 Windows that goes in computers that would be
62:20 terminated okay so that's that's pretty
62:24 much it I mean AMD and Intel cooperate in a on a much deeper level than most
62:29 people probably realize and developing
62:32 standard things is super important yeah
62:35 I mean if if we lived in a world where we had different applications for AMD
62:42 processors or Intel processors well it would we'd basically well just funny I
62:47 was about to say we'd have the same kind of divide between AMD and Intel users as
62:50 we have between Mac and PC users except we kind of
62:53 do sad face um speaking of things that we kind of do
63:00 we kind of do sponsor spots nice Dollar
63:04 Shave Club is one of our sponsors today and for those of you who don't know what
63:09 Dollar Shave Club is they are the reason why my beard doesn't go down to here
63:13 good for you it would actually it would I believe
63:17 you so Dollar Shave Club is the way for to for a few bucks a month if you live
63:22 in the US Canada New Zealand or Australia
63:26 get highquality razors delivered directly to your door and their
63:30 marketing materials are actually hilarious have you ever had a look at
63:33 the actual like cards and and like stuff that's written in your packages
63:37 completely honest no it's hilarious they just have like the quirkiest sense of
63:42 humor ever really awesome writer so they've got all kinds of different stuff
63:45 up to the six blade executive razor they've got their one wipe Charlie's
63:48 peppermint scented butt wipes for men they've got their After Shave Dr Carver
63:53 they've got their Dr Carver shave butter which goes on clear so you can see what
63:56 you're doing while you're doing it and pretty much uh Dollar Shave Club is one
64:01 of our longest standing sponsors and I
64:04 don't think we've ever gotten a negative comment about them no straight up I have
64:09 never seen someone say lonus you told us Dollar Shave Club was good I joined the
64:13 Dollar Shave Club and they killed my mother like I have literally never
64:17 gotten a message like that or anything negative never mind the mother killing
64:21 that's probably good so dollarshaveclub.com Linus to join the
64:24 club and start shaving time and shaving money money money speaking of
64:32 money money Mast drop a place where you
64:36 can buy not razors see how we have non-conflicting sponsors there although
64:40 Mast drop does have just a metric
64:43 buttload of stuff um so today at dr.
64:48 psow uh I'm going to show show you guys this this is a ducky shine 4 special
64:54 community Edition you can see they wanted a 100 sold and this blew so many
65:00 people away that 281 of I believe they are uh go away
65:06 that's the layout that I want 281 of them were sold for $169.99 now that is a
65:13 pretty darn expensive little number but
65:19 but this is a pretty darn fancy little
65:23 keyboard so the community and Matt 30 designed the next special edition ducky
65:27 shine 4 with the stipulation that the keyboard would have multiple
65:31 switches so the silent feeler layout with Cherry MX clears and Cherry MX
65:35 Browns was the winner so you'll have
65:39 your choice of laser engrave blue and gray PBT key Caps or blank blue and gray
65:45 PBT key caps and the drop is limited to 500
65:50 units yeah boy that is so sick so pretty
65:54 much the rundown on mastop is all kinds of stuff like this they'll get community
65:58 sourced deals uh they'll Source things from manufacturers directly themselves
66:03 and the way it works is the more people buy the more everyone saves they've got
66:08 everything from I think I've got a knife that we got from Mast drop they had that
66:12 like that weird head pillow that we showed off on the W show before where
66:16 you just put it around your head and then you just lay on things to sleep I think it's around here somewhere I
66:20 should take it to Taiwan if you just want to kind of shop for kitchy cool
66:24 stuff Mass drop or if you are interested in that ducky
66:27 shine deal particularly draw UPS slw
66:31 show and then our last sponsor of the
66:35 day these guys never go away they just
66:39 keep making people's websites better for
66:44 a very reasonable charge squarespace.com
66:47 it starts at $8 a month with scalable
66:50 beautiful website templates whether you want to do a Blog a store I always use a
66:55 examples let's come up with other websites people could build a conspiracy
67:00 info site yes if you were like a dog da
67:05 if you like GTX 480s don't melt steel
67:09 beams you could make a website about that you could make a website like that
67:13 you could make you could make an online profile for your dog for dating purposes
67:18 you could make it well no not for you to date the dog for your dog to date that's
67:23 what I yeah people breed dogs is it any different dating thing you have a
67:28 profile like I like hikes and sniffing butts some people date just for the
67:32 action it could be like things that I enjoy and then just like a column of
67:36 food and like a column of buts Ning on this thing I
67:41 love a whole column of partially opened doors with like a shoe coming through so
67:47 so Squarespace makes your site responsive both in terms of how quickly
67:51 it's it's how quickly you can navigate on it because it's hosted over on
67:54 Squarespace servers as well as responsive in terms of responsive design
67:58 so it looks great on a phone it looks great on a larger screen or whatever the
68:02 case may be and regardless of your skill level so if you're very entry level you
68:06 can just do it all pretty much through a goey and if you're a little more
68:10 advanced then you can start to Tinker with things you can go ahead and build
68:13 the site that you want to build and when
68:16 you decide to sign up for Squarespace when you abandon that WordPress site or
68:20 whatever it is you're using now guys use offer code Linus to save 10% on
68:25 squarespace.com that applies to if you buy an entire year at a time you will
68:30 get 10% off that entire whack not to mention that if you buy an entire year
68:33 at a time you get your domain name thrown in for free so if it's one that's
68:38 available like a regular price domain they will throw that into your yearly
68:42 subscription squares space Builder beautiful thank you for that I got it
68:46 all right so what else what else do we got here we've got there must be other
68:52 things wicher three tweak tool oh yeah
68:55 yeah so we were kind of like talking about how they were going to do cool
69:00 stuff is this from them officially or this someone else releasing this
69:06 um okay so the original poster here was
69:10 uh blue4 and the original the original site
69:15 here is dsogaming.com I have to skip I have
69:19 never seen that before two of them yeah I had to skip two full page takeover ads
69:25 that is interesting I think they know a lot of people are looking at this article musthave tool gives you easy
69:30 access to extensive options so while the
69:35 developers while CD project red did give Gamers the ability with the latest patch
69:40 to go into the inii files and tweak a bunch of settings uh mod
69:45 mous I'm not even going to try has released a configuration tool that
69:48 allows you to easily gain access to numerous Graphics options without doing
69:54 text editing very very cool stuff it's um it includes
69:59 support for sweet FX and you can basically download it here did you post
70:04 this link in theat did it looks really nice I I think it's pretty cool actually
70:08 we've got to look at the the funny thing is it looks about the same as the actual
70:13 configuration options for a lot of games that I've seen so you can do things like
70:17 change object count trigger wow there's all wow maximum visibility depth
70:23 sharpening amounts everything thing you guys can play around with it all you
70:28 freaking want very Co fun rhus yeah have
70:31 have fun doing that thing uh I'm not doing that thing you kind of are no I'm
70:37 not I'm just I'm using whatever settings you're using oh it's not ready oh well
70:42 I'll figure it out then I'm probably not going to Tinker with this too much yeah
70:46 to be perfectly honest you probably don't have to use that at all okay
70:49 BackTrack 5 was the Linux OS thing
70:53 distribution that I was talking about a long time go that most people aren't going to know this reference for but
70:57 anyways moving on uh this is hilarious this was posted by Twisted dictator the
71:00 original article here is from The Verge uh Chinese Tech exact spends $100
71:05 million to create Star Trek inspired
71:11 offices that's awesome this is the stupidest thing ever no yes no yes no
71:18 we're talking about it that's true we're talking about it cuz it's ridiculous so
71:23 what if someone's like what if someone's like don't like my job I want to go work
71:27 in a space station that happens to be on the ground and can't go to space and
71:31 doesn't even look that much like the Starship Enterprise just like vaguely a
71:35 similar shape not even the same like if I didn't tell you that's the usss
71:39 Enterprise I did I just put an extra s in there man I'm tired
71:44 usss I I I wouldn't be too surprised if I was like huh it kind of looks like a
71:49 similar shape but I wouldn't be like that is the
71:53 Enterprise because I don't know know there's there's problems like the isn't
71:57 the height differential not even like that yeah no it's like aggressive it's
72:01 like a yeah oh oh yeah it's like a mushed Enterprise it's like if the
72:05 Enterprise crashed it's like Oh by falling from the sky come on did you
72:10 just search for USS Enterprise and it came up with a naval ship that's really
72:15 a more common search oh I missed an
72:19 S oh there we go yeah cuz Okay and like it
72:24 doesn't have the bottom thing wow lagging there we go there we
72:31 go so we'll pull up some images of the Starship Enterprise see aircraft carrier
72:35 was the first thing what's oh that's true that's true what is that I don't
72:39 know what this one is I actually you know what probably the only one I would
72:43 recognize just by looking at it is the uh the next generation one I don't even
72:48 see it here wow either way I think there's more
72:52 height differential and there's a thing below it which is obviously not being
72:58 shown and like the big saucer part is supposed to just be kind of connected by
73:02 like a little thing that's it yeah
73:06 that's next Generation right I don't know maybe not I was never much of a
73:10 treky I was probably much less than you were I never watched TV right I've I've
73:15 seen maybe one episode of Star Trek sorry for people that now hate me really
73:19 yeah really my dad really liked it but then I never watched TV so I've just
73:25 never really seen have you seen like the new movies I've seen one of them I think I
73:29 also don't watch that many movies I'm slowly getting into it like
73:33 I'm trying to catch up on things that I missed when I was a kid by watching Netflix and watching all these other
73:37 stuff cuz they're better than The Hobbit and you saw all three of those well my
73:41 family's always been really hardcore into Lord of the Rings cuz I read the books right yeah I see you're never
73:47 really a hardcore like TV and movies family how I'm trying to catch up on
73:52 things and I'm sure I'll end up watching Star Trek but it's just like yeah going
73:57 through the motions the chat hates me right now I'm just being honest I could
74:02 lie and be like uh yeah uh that's the
74:08 ship but that would just be stupid do we have any other rapid fire stuff oh
74:13 Amazon expands their same day delivery what's up text message that shuts off
74:17 people's iPhones oh yeah that's pretty hilarious oh my God who posted that uh
74:22 Sim sir numbers sir numbers uh this is
74:25 posted by Victoria Secret Amazon has expanded their same day delivery so
74:29 orders submitted by noon will arrive by 900 p.m. that day so the regions
74:34 previously allowed New York Philadelphia San Francisco Seattle Atlanta Boston
74:38 Baltimore Dallas Fort Worth Indianapolis Los Angeles Phoenix and Washington DC
74:42 and it has now been expanded to San Diego and Tampa Bay the price is now
74:46 free on orders over $35 for Prime customers Holy balls and so primes 100
74:51 bucks a year and it was previously a flat fee for of $55.99 for all prime
74:56 customers uh non-members will continue to pay $9 plus a dollar per unit when
75:02 requesting same day delivery uh this a separate from Prime now which is 1hour
75:07 deliveries in New York City Miami Baltimore Dallas Atlanta and Austin to
75:10 Prime members for $7.99 1 hour delivery
75:14 Holy balls how does that even work
75:17 Amazon is a machine you move that quickly Amazon is a
75:22 machine uh this was posted by if one
75:25 country if one company was to say say
75:29 like a 100 years from now corporations are essentially countries at this point
75:33 because we're getting close to that anyways um like if someone had to run
75:38 the whole world who would you think would do it
75:41 best I have always said I can't pick one
75:45 because I'm going to stick to my guns this is what I've always said a Costco
75:49 and Amazon merger would take care of everything I could ever need
75:53 yeah yeah if I had to pick one I was saying uh Amazon you go Amazon Costco no
76:00 I was saying likeliness Costco has better ethics I see okay yeah I would
76:04 prefer Costco ran everything yeah yeah it's like ginormous jar of pickles for
76:10 all yeah everyone would be paid well but
76:14 there wouldn't really be a lot of variance in like what you get to eat and stuff yeah but you have a lot of it
76:19 you'd have t every one would have like an industrial jar of pickles yeah an
76:23 industrial jar what what industry uses pickles shut up oh well food industry
76:28 shut up it's been a long
76:32 week I'm just like what well you know
76:35 those like giant jars of pickles that I know what you meant by industrial jar
76:38 pickles I hate you every week you'd get like two of those like giant trough
76:42 boxes of chicken a trough box okay somebody
76:48 please invent the trough box okay so
76:51 this has to be a take go to Costco check it's a out
76:55 container in the shape of an elongated bowl with a lid on it right but it's
77:01 like it like folds at the bottom like and has like a little wire handle like a
77:04 Chinese takeout box so you take you take
77:07 off the like the handle and like maybe it folds down to the bottom so it
77:11 doesn't drip through or something and that is the trough box you literally
77:14 work your way across and shovel the food into your mouth trough box you're a
77:18 genius all right so Google Maps Chrome
77:21 and YouTube offline support extended in a big way Google Maps is a huge one for
77:26 me it is such a pain in the ass to deal
77:30 with when you're traveling and you don't have a roaming data plan or something it's like well if I could just load a
77:34 bunch of this up on Wi-Fi and then maybe it would somewhat work and bippity boity
77:38 like hold up I'm going to pause you for a second just said you two are so stupid
77:44 it's unreal you have not seen scrapyard Wars 2 yet wow it is a whole other level
77:49 of unreal you have no idea your reality will collapse the reality you already
77:54 have have will be gone what what else can I really what
78:00 else can I really even say um that's cool though so new version
78:05 of Chrome and Android will allow you to save a web page for offline viewing cool
78:08 will include turn BYT directions offline wow YouTube will allow you to keep a
78:13 video saved offline for 48 hours and will be available to all Android 4.4
78:17 devices or higher in the near future and Maps will have an offline mode you will
78:21 have to download the maps you choose to use offline but come on how did this
78:25 take so long how long has Nokia had
78:34 this so frustrating but that'll be coming
78:38 sometime later this year Zotac and
78:41 apparent you you requested a sample of this
78:46 right is that is that in this new article is the is the that
78:52 I Titan Titan X Titan X
78:55 you requested a sample of the Titan x with the Arctic
79:00 Storm okay Titan x with a with uh an
79:04 aftermarket cooler with a with a non-reference CO I super want it and I'm
79:08 so happy this exists and I told you about this but because on the titanex
79:12 video when I'm like oh I really hope that someone makes an aftermarket cooler
79:16 and everyone was like you're such an idiot they never do that for Titans but
79:22 like I'm thinking this one is way hotter
79:25 R average running temperature than all the other ones so it's possible thank
79:29 you Zotac for doing such a thing so I'm trying to get them to send me one I
79:33 actually recommend if you want to see our video on how good it is go
79:36 like go after Zotac and be like hey send
79:41 Line Tech tips a freaking card so they can bench it the Arctic Storm is a
79:45 hybrid cooled card so it actually has both air and liquid cooling so it has
79:50 threads I believe yep so this is very similar to the ASUS p I believe they did
79:55 a what was it a 980 Poseidon or was it
79:58 an 700 series 780 780 it was a GTX 780 Poseidon
80:06 he didn't remember 960s existed uh yes there's a Poseidon 980 oh okay is there
80:10 a 782 come on help me help me I think so I think so please confirm for me cuz my
80:15 brain might have completely fallen out my ear while I was sleeping last night
80:18 okay good so there's a 780 Poseidon uh
80:21 this what this has been done before uh Cooler Master had
80:25 uh had a cooler that went on the GTX or the 8800 GTX or 8800 Ultra way back in
80:31 the day forget what that thing was called I reviewed it for Hardware
80:34 connects um so it's not a New Concept by
80:37 any stretch but very cool stuff AMD has
80:41 an it's coming teaser I feel like we're just we're just shoveling shoveling coal
80:46 into the hype machine at this point but might as well we might as well just show
80:52 you guys what's here I'm trying to catch up on the links guys we're just bouncing
80:55 all over the place and it's hard to keep so this was posted by epic ponage and
80:59 basically it's a graphics card for those of you who didn't clue into that um if
81:04 any of the rumors circulating are correct it'll be some kind of 390 series
81:10 graphics card you mean those rumors that have been circulating for like six
81:13 months oh my God AMD started them yeah
81:18 like uh we have no response to 980 what
81:21 should we do um let's tell people to wait for
81:26 390x all I can say AMD is if you're
81:29 going to do that if that's going to be your strategy good it better be good I
81:34 got no problem with the hype machine if you come through for me can you tell the
81:39 story again which story I'm not going to oh come on I I want to go to sleep no no
81:45 no bedtime story wow speaking of going

82:10 here yeah CU he'll be in Taiwan I don't think that's realistic is
82:16 it I don't know that depends what time it is time it is uh hold on 6 a.m. is
82:23 300 p.m. the previous day day so 6:00 p.m. would be 3:00 a.m. the previous day
82:28 so it would be like 1:30 in the morning the previous day I don't think that
82:32 makes it t of sense I usually St up till like 4: when I'm at shows it'll depend
82:36 on the day I'm not going to guarantee it if you get another guest then sure but
82:40 if you don't have another guest I can probably maybe I'll bring on Austin
82:43 without broken audio and I'll show you right up all
82:48 right that wasn't even my fault peace guys peace guys I'm sorry
