0:00 it's 2016 and wireless controllers have been a thing for a long time on consoles
0:05 I use a wireless Xbox controller for a bunch of games but what about mice why
0:10 aren't we all using Wireless mice for gaming on PC I could just say it's
0:15 because between TV input lag and cinematic frame rates console players
0:21 can't tell the difference anyway but while that's actually part of the answer
0:26 the rest of it is actually less offensive to console Gamers and possibly
0:31 more interesting stay
0:42 tuned be quiet! silent Wings 3 use a
0:45 smooth running six Poole motor to remain silent and better cool your PC check
0:50 them out at the link below back to our original question for a moment if
0:55 manufacturers have been pushing Wireless technology down our throats for over 10
0:59 years now why haven't cordless mice ever really taken off outside of the office
1:05 one since they're Wireless they're going to need batteries and that means they
1:09 can't be all that light a couple of popular gaming mice among competitive
1:14 Gamers like the final Mouse the Logitech G Pro they're like 70 and 84 G
1:20 respectively but the g900 and g43 wireless are both 107 G that's 20%
1:26 heavier than the g43 wired version with
1:29 that said the bodies of other respectable gaming mice like the Razer
1:33 Death Adder and steel series rival are actually about the same so Wireless mice
1:39 aren't in a different weight class Al together except for the Mamba that is a
1:45 whale at 125 G two batteries don't just
1:50 add weight they also add
1:53 inconvenience like wired mice never need to be charged and while office grade
1:58 Wireless mice can last months on a pair of disposable batteries wireless gaming
2:03 mice because of their higher performance hardware and higher polling rates need
2:07 to be charged several times a week
2:10 that's kind of inconvenient I I never do it though some of them have handy docks
2:16 which is a bit more convenient than plugging in a USB connector but it's it
2:21 takes up valuable desk space that I can populate with action figures or
2:26 Pop-Tarts and on the subject of valuable
2:30 three Wireless mice are much more
2:34 expensive like while you can get good wired gaming mice for like 20 to $3 if
2:39 you don't get fancy things like RGB lighting the g403 wireless sits at $99
2:46 with higher end models like the g900 and Razer Mamba they're going to cost you
2:51 around 150
2:54 bucks and what do you get for your money
2:57 a better gaming experience
3:01 no what you get is problem number four
3:04 more input lag at least that used to be
3:09 the case like okay so far it sounds like
3:13 this entire video is going to be one long hate session on wireless mice
3:17 because I'm some kind of pretentious
3:20 gaming mouse purist but I've actually been using the g403 wireless and this
3:25 was not an easy decision but unlike my previous attempts to go less like with
3:30 the razor uros this time I am not going
3:34 back so let's talk about why while I
3:37 don't have the scientific apparatus to validate their claims Logitech says
3:41 their Wireless performance is on par or
3:45 better than wired mice and does this
3:48 look like a face that would lie to you no but really I haven't seen or felt
3:53 anything to make me doubt that I don't notice a delay in movement or clicks and
3:57 I've I haven't had it disconnect wir mice I'll actually have disconnect
4:02 because I'll accidentally pull out the cable and this thing this this works
4:06 even in my apartment with like signals bouncing around everywhere from
4:10 Neighbors and outside of like a crowded land party that's probably the worst
4:15 case scenario for wireless products in general so with no performance issues
4:19 not having to deal with a cable after so many years of using a mouse sponge or or
4:25 taping it to my desk or wrapping it around a lamp it's just
4:30 awesome I I love lightweight mice but I
4:34 feel like trading some weight for a more full range of motion to make flick shots
4:38 without without knocking over it's
4:41 finally worth it and while this doesn't solve all of my Wireless complaints like
4:47 I I forget to charge my mouse constantly because I'm a bit of a
4:52 scatterbrain I haven't had it die on me yet because a full charge lasts about 25
4:57 hours of constant use and I can't play
5:01 constantly for 25 hours and when it gets low it tells you to plug in I just
5:05 forget but it still works okay but I
5:08 don't expect you to take my word for it entirely like I'm I'm not a filthy
5:13 casual like lonus or whatever but
5:17 there's a reason why people including myself look to the pros and wonder what
5:22 are they using to win tournaments and
5:26 you know who just won a tournament using the g43 wireless
5:30 Cloud n's automatic they beat SK in the ESL pro league finals and he was if you
5:36 ignore the salty salty Brazilian SK fans
5:39 he was the real MVP of the tournament new Mouse big victory
5:45 coincidence maybe but I think the only
5:48 reasonable conclusion is that wireless is the Future Okay so with all that said
5:54 not all wirelesses created equal so for
5:57 the time being the answer is a bit more
6:01 complicated you may have noticed that this video started out as wired versus
6:06 Wireless and ended up mostly being about
6:09 logitech's g403 and g900 the reason for
6:12 that is that I just I can't recommend
6:15 the other Solutions the g900 price might be
6:19 offputting and you might not like the ambidex shape and design the g43
6:24 wireless is a cheaper more mainstream option but it still comes add a price
6:30 and weight premium over the wired version I still think they're worth it
6:34 but some people don't two options can't really kill off wir gaming mice but
6:39 they're proof that the technology is here and it's
6:43 ready are you ready for wireless mice let us know
