0:00 So today on my video blog, I'm going to be unboxing a new product from Steeler.
0:04 So this is the Siberia full-size headset. But what you probably can't see
0:08 is that there's a little V2 here. So the V2 version of the Siberia headset, which
0:13 is quite popular, makes a couple of key changes. First of all, they've done away
0:17 with the clip-on mic. So, it used to be it was just kind of a headphone and then
0:21 a clip-on mic that you put on the wire or your shirt, which I have always thought was kind of a ghetto solution,
0:25 but you still can do that by buying Siberia headphones and then just like a
0:29 random third party clip-on mic. Neither here nor there. They've also improved
0:33 the comfort level of these heads of this headset as well as the sound quality.
0:38 So, they've actually made a lot of improvements over the older Siberia. So,
0:42 without further ado, why don't we hurry up and get this box open? So you start
0:47 by removing the tab at the back. Now
0:51 Steeler is not, you know, uh, uh, known as an audio file class headphone, but
0:57 it's not really what they market their products towards. What they do market
1:00 them towards is gamers. So what they're saying is that it is pro gaming
1:04 optimized, which means crystal clear highs, lows, and mid tones. And these
1:08 are also closed type headphones. And what closed means is that when you have
1:14 the ear cups over your ears, it blocks out the outside noise so that you don't
1:18 get distracted by any other noises that you hear. And it also means that others
1:23 cannot hear what's going on inside the earphones or headphones, sorry, either.
1:28 Okay. So, I kind of don't know where I was going with that, but without further
1:32 ado, here is the Steeler Professional Gaming Gear uh pamphlet, which shows you
1:37 a bunch of their other uh products that would go along with this one. Okay,
1:41 thank you very much. And then, uh what
1:44 is this? To avoid permanent hearing. Oh, it's telling you not to turn it up too
1:47 loud to hurt your hearing. Okay, so then you've got a Steel Series sticker. Okay,
1:52 and then we get to the cables. So, this is not a USB version of one of their
1:57 headsets. This is one of the standard ones that plugs directly into a sound
2:01 card. They do have ones that include USB sound cards. Uh it looks like they've
2:05 also made some improvements to the inline volume and mic switch, but I'm
2:10 not 100% sure about that cuz I have a different one myself. So, you've got a
2:14 mic on and off button here. And what I like about this is it's actually quite
2:17 hard to hit by accident because it's flush with the rest of it. Um a lot of
2:21 gamers tend to bump these and then they go berserk when their mics don't work.
2:25 I've seen it happen many times. Then you got your volume control on the side.
2:28 Now, one thing that Steeler does with most, if not all of their headsets is
2:32 they include kind of a two-length cable. So, here the cable terminates where you
2:37 can plug into the back of something like a 7G keyboard or another keyboard that
2:41 has a pass through audio. And then it also comes with a nice long extension
2:45 cord should you not have a setup like that. So, if you don't use your front
2:50 audio or whatever, then it's a long enough cable to go around to the back of
2:53 your computer. Very nice. Okay. So then
2:56 next thing we need to do is remove these plastic tabs as well as these uh zip
3:01 ties at the or not zip ties sorry twist ties at the back and then we can free
3:05 the headphones themselves. Now the V2s are available in both black and white
3:09 but the version I have here today is the white version as you can see. All right.
3:14 So they go on this way. And something to
3:17 have a look at before you before you sort of get too far into this is the way
3:21 that the headset is suspended. So
3:25 Steeler claims, and I'm about to find out whether it's true in a moment, that
3:29 the suspension mechanism that they have here makes the headphones much more
3:34 lightweight and much more comfortable to wear for extended periods. And while I
3:38 can't vouch for extended periods, I can tell you right off the bat that these
3:42 are extremely light headphones and that they do fit quite comfortably because
3:46 they use an enormous ear cup that is very, very soft. It's kind of a soft
3:51 pleathery material. Okay, so then last but not least, oh yeah, it uses 50 mm
3:56 drivers. I should probably mention that. So it's quite a large driver for like a
3:59 gaming headset. Um, okay. Last thing is
4:04 this is where the mic is now included. So rather than having that clip-on mic I
4:08 was talking about before, you have a little retractable mic that is totally
4:11 adjustable. So you can kind of like play around with where you want it to sit.
4:14 And I think that pretty much covers it. Thank you for checking out my unboxing
4:18 of the Steeler Siberia V2.
