0:13
bit this morning to edit. And while we stayed in, we heard this huge crackling
0:17
noise. I wasn't really sure what it was, but I was getting dressed so I wasn't too focused on it. We heard another huge
0:21
crackling noise. So I went to go look at the window and it's raining like crazy.
0:26
And ever since it started raining, I've been feeling homesick. And that's
0:30
probably the weirdest thing ever when rain is what makes you miss home. It's
0:36
cuz we live in BC, so it's raining all the time. And now it's raining like
0:40
crazy. And it feels like I'm in BC except for when everything looks like
0:44
minus the rain. So yeah. So we're in
0:48
Taiwan, as many of you know. And no matter how much $1,000 feels like in new
0:53
Taiwanese dollars, it's actually not that much. So, we had about three grand
0:57
and B-roll and I blew through it really, really quickly on food and taxi rides.
1:02
I'm a little bit shooken up cuz we just went to Family Mart to use their ATM. I
1:06
put my card in, withdraw some more money so that we could actually get around cuz
1:09
we want to go see Ducky today, which I was pretty excited about. And it gave me
1:12
the money, gave me the receipt, and did not give me my card.
1:16
I was like, I'm in a foreign country. I can't speak the language. anguage. I wish I could, but I can't speak the
1:20
language and there's my cards jammed inside of an ATM. So, I did two or three
1:24
fake transactions that I knew wouldn't work because I used the wrong options.
1:28
And then eventually, it was like, "Retchieve your card." And shot my card out, even though it said that three or
1:33
four times after doing fake transactions. Finally, it actually spat my card out.
1:37
So, that was freaky. Still a little bit shooken up, but we're going to keep
1:41
going. We got to get go see Ducky. So, we'll catch you guys later. They have the lightest lightest
1:46
the the best brown from that era,
1:50
you know the
2:00
And then this picture over here is actually can't really tell, but it's
2:05
actually just on my hat because it's all weird. But I
2:11
like my Canada because no one else has it in Canada. We're from Canada. So I
2:14
can if people are there's not that many people that they're talking about
2:19
Canada. I miss you Canada. I miss you Canada.
2:23
Oh, I miss you so much Canada. Where have
2:26
you been? I've been so long. It's been so long. It's been It's been so long. I
2:31
miss you so much. That thing is so cool. Like it's literally a sphere
2:36
carved out of logs. Awesome. Awesome.
2:42
Bye.
2:45
What just happened? I don't know. I have no idea. It was kind of cool.
2:49
Slick is totally signing his autograph to this lady. No, but actually, he's
2:53
probably just writing down our contact information. But what just happened was
2:56
these three girls over here asked to take a picture with him. Why? I'm not
3:02
completely sure. And then our nice
3:06
hostess here for our next Yoku remote
3:10
video also asked to take a picture with him. Again, I think it's just that Slick
3:15
is that famous in Taipei. Or maybe it's
3:19
just that he's super awesome. Who knows? All right, so we're here and I've been
3:24
to many conventions in my life because of how much I've gone to packs and land
3:27
parties and stuff where they give you these lanyards. And you'll notice if you
3:30
look around, I don't know how much you're going to be able to pick it up right now, but most people have them
3:35
hanging around their neck. All of those people are noobs. I'm here to tell you
3:39
guys a secret. What you do is you take your lanyard, you go to your belt loop,
3:43
put it through the first belt loop, put through the second belt loop, grab your
3:47
lanyard, put it through here. Boom.
3:50
Instantly pro. I learned that from my brother after going to PAX for quite a
3:54
few years and being a noob the entire time. Now I'm a pro. How you guys know?
3:58
You go to Lanner Convention, that's how you do it to this like boutiquey bakery for lunch.
4:04
And guess what happened? What happens? Like, so they give 10% off to people that are
4:09
going to copy decks. And as a pro, I
4:13
wear my tag down here. As a noob, B-roll wears his on his chest. Now, I would
4:18
like to put a disclaimer before I go through the rest of the thing. This was
4:21
very high above the table and almost chest height for most of the people that
4:25
were serving me. Just putting that out there. But I didn't get the discount
4:28
because I didn't realize how much compex cuz they were only looking for it around your neck.
4:33
Ah, so maybe you should wear it this way cuz trade shows.
4:37
No. No. So it started raining randomly and we
4:42
walked by someone giving out these bags and I thought I would give B-roll's
4:45
camera a hat because uh I guess you can't see but it's raining like crazy.
4:50
And as we have very not that long ago, we had a lot of problems with our FS700
4:55
having getting soaked and then almost breaking, we thought we'd give our
4:59
camera a hat and I thought it was hilarious. So, I just want to show you guys. Works well. It does work well
5:03
when in need. Yep. Okay, so I noticed something. Wait for it. Wait for it. Wait for it.
5:08
I don't know if you guys can hear that, but this hotel actually has a door knob.
5:13
Oh god, you have a key. Yes.
5:17
Just a I had a moment of terror there. Yes, I had moments over there.
5:21
Oh man. Okay, so he has a doororknob. I I knocked on his door and he didn't hear
5:25
me and then I knocked on his door really really hard and I was like, "Oh man, I'm
5:29
surprised like someone hasn't thought of a better way for this just in case someone has headphones on or something
5:32
cuz I knew he had noise cancelling headphones on." They have a door. That's
5:37
so cool. That is really cool. Not everything here is slick sized.
5:44
Uh it feels weird walking through here. Is your hair actually touching?
5:48
I don't know. No, I don't think so. That's awesome. This is part of our travel blog here. This is
5:52
Albert from WD. Hi, everybody. He has the freaking coolest car that
5:57
we've seen the whole time we're here. Please just Yeah. You know what? I think
6:01
it kind of speaks for itself. So, I'm going to get you to explain how you got
6:07
this like shiny silver finish with like
6:10
the matte black and like how Oh, this thing's awesome. So basically this is um
6:16
a a vinyl wrap uh which treated to have
6:19
that chrome effect. Uh the matte black
6:23
is also a stretchable vinyl. Um it's
6:26
very popular now here in Asia and other
6:29
part of the world that people like to do a little you know character into their
6:34
car or personal personalization to it.
6:37
Uh I did it because I think it's cool.
6:42
I hope you guys agree. And um you really
6:46
need a lot of guts to drive this car on the road. Uh you got to get used to a
6:51
lot of people's scares. The way people drive here, I'd be so
6:54
afraid to have anything nice on the road. Well, fortunately, we are it seems
7:00
chaotic, but there's certain rules and order in in a place. You just you just
7:05
have to be here to know that. And um once you get used to it
7:09
Yeah. Yeah. Sure. Minus. Yeah.
7:14
Feeling very authentic and Italian right now. We're at uh we're at a pasta
7:18
restaurant, which is of course, you know, very, you know, adventurous of us.
7:27
Hey, Slick. Thumbs up for adventurous.
7:31
There's like literally the size of
7:38
How many times has that happened today?
7:41
This is why I had the camera rolling. That's the second one for me.
7:44
Waiting for it to happen. Jeez.
7:48
I was I thought you were just filming the sushi thing. No, I know. I
7:52
No, I was waiting for I was waiting for you to walk into the door.
7:55
Yeah, I was like, "Okay, it's pretty expensive sushi, I guess." Yeah.
7:59
Are we are we going to see who it catches this time? Is that fine?
8:02
Well, I'm going out right away. First time last
8:11
Yeah. How's that, Quake?
8:15
That was uh refreshing. That was uh that was significantly more
8:20
than uh Taipei 101. I was a little bit tired. Now I'm
8:23
completely awake. Okay. Not even going the right way.
8:26
Yeah, that's the exit. Okay. No,
8:31
I was just going to head out cuz I didn't want to be in here.
8:34
Should at least What is it? 15 minutes.
8:38
15 minutes for aftershocks. Uh, something like that.
8:42
You guys just going to leave? Yep.
8:46
Possibly explain why you're bailing on us early. Cuz I want to go to Korea early
8:51
so that you can like go to some Starcraft thing.
8:54
Yes. But there's additional reasoning that I can't say because this will be a
8:57
public video. But I can say after I'm back.
9:01
What? Yeah, I told you about the the box and
9:05
the writing on the box.
9:09
You're confused. No, I'm not. See, you know what I'm talking about.
9:12
You're just letting everyone in the audience be confused. No, actually, I'm not. I have no idea
9:17
what you're talking about. Never mind.
9:21
Hello. That was weird.
9:24
I'm like the paparazzi of like the lamest person ever.
9:30
Well, apparently you're like, did you see the
9:33
every every lady here's favorite, but yeah, I did.
9:39
That was fantastic. I'm leaving really early. I suspected you guys were up.
9:43
Yeah, I'm up. What? You're trying to get away without
9:47
like a tearful goodbye?
9:52
I'm so sorry.
9:56
I'm going to tell all the ladies that are here that your beard is really sharp.
9:59
Is it? Yeah. Well, I've never like hugged a dude with
10:03
his like chin in my neck before. So, all
10:07
right. Well, have a good trip, sir. I will. I have to like try and navigate
10:11
the Taipei airport by myself. So, Oh, yeah. Good luck with that.
10:15
That's why I'm going so early. be safe because I have to explain it to your mom
10:19
if you die. So, yeah, that'll be Yeah.
10:22
Okay. Good luck if that's a problem. See you.
