0:08 Welcome to Alignus Tech Tips unboxing. Today we've got the Life Form PH ORM and
0:14 we've also got a very different setup. So, here's here's something like crazy
0:19 going on right now. So, we have a B-roll camera. We're going to switch to that
0:22 right now. See? B-roll camera for close-ups. Let's
0:26 have a close look at the box of the life form. So, the Life Form is trying to
0:31 replace any smartphone, tablet, or camera holder that you have already and
0:36 just do whatever that does and better. So, I'll give you a couple examples of
0:40 the sorts of products that we're trying to replace here. So, here's a tablet
0:43 stand. This is actually a pretty good tablet stand. You can rotate it into
0:46 portrait or uh or landscape mode. You
0:50 can rotate. Whoa. Okay. See, it falls out if you do that. But, uh that's not
0:53 really the recommended way to use it. That that is right there. And then it
0:57 also seeks to replace stuff like this. So here is sort of one of those portable
1:01 tripods that you can throw your camera on and you can easily take a picture.
1:05 You can't do things like sort of portrait shots or anything like that.
1:08 You can't clip it to things. So the Life Form tries to be a pretty unique
1:12 approach to this in that it here I'm just going to open up the box.
1:18 Mounts and it's extremely flexible. So inside the box you find only a couple
1:22 things. You got a manual here that shows you how to mount smartphones, tablets,
1:26 cameras, as well as just gives you sort of a index of all the different stuff
1:30 that should be inside the box. You got a piece of foam over the top and then
1:33 you've got the life form itself. So, you just pop that out there and it's a
1:38 pretty neat little device. So, here's where you would mount. So, at the start,
1:41 it comes with the uh with the phone mount, obviously, as you can see. And
1:45 it's got six legs. So, these six legs are made of plastic, but they're kind of
1:49 a reinforced plastic. They do feel quite strong. The joints are tight and they
1:54 are adjustable. So, you can see they've all got screws on them. So, if they get too loose or if you feel like they're
1:58 too tight, you can adjust them so that they have as much stickiness as you
2:01 want. Remember, you want it to be a little sticky because you want to put these in place and you want them to to
2:06 stay there. Uh they bend in three different places. So, they all bend
2:09 here. See? Like that. They all have one joint right up at the very top. And then
2:14 they all have a second joint a little bit further away, kind of like a kind of
2:19 like a hand. And then at the end, in order to grab onto things, there's these
2:22 little rubberized hooks that are not going to damage anything, but they
2:27 should allow it to kind of clamp onto stuff. So, some of the examples that the
2:31 manufacturer gives are, you know, clipping it to a tree to take a portrait
2:35 picture with your camera, hanging it to the edge of a of a ramp on a skate park,
2:39 so you can get like cool footage of yourself going over. This I'm not sure
2:42 if I'd recommend, but that's on the windscreen of a boat and a bike. A
2:46 treadmill is probably fine. And then they've got a couple more examples here,
2:49 including the back of a headrest and then a pregnant woman's belly. Actually,
2:53 I think it's a pillow and I don't think she's pregnant, but uh
2:58 very funny, right? So, I want to show you guys all three different mounting
3:01 mechanisms because they're kind of clever. So, there's two nuts at the
3:05 back. One of them is a metal one. So, this one you have to be you have to kind
3:09 of really go at it with your fingers and it's it's a little bit tough. And then
3:12 the other one's a plastic one. So, the plastic one loosens the sliding mount.
3:16 So, that's how you're going to expand it to the maximum, which will allow you to
3:21 mount uh let's see, can I get an iPhone in
3:25 there? Nope. We're going to want to do an iPhone this way. So, you allows you to mount sort of a smartphone. So, then
3:29 all you do is you put this back into place like that. Make it nice and tight
3:33 so it's not going anywhere. And then you can do crazy things like here, I'm going to go around the front of the table and
3:38 uh clip it to the front of the table. And that's not going to go anywhere in
3:43 theory. So, you can take these ones and you can bring Okay, you know what? Let's
3:46 clip it to something more interesting. Let's clip it to the cat tree. So, this
3:50 is sort of like their tree example where you just take all these legs and you
3:53 grab it onto there or you can hang it off the edge of something which is sort
3:58 of neat. Just kind of go like this and then sort of clamp it up there. There
4:03 you go. So, if you want to put it on your your homemade Whoops. There we go.
4:06 Cat tree then that would also work. There we go. Grab around the back there.
4:10 Actually, it's kind of it's kind of neat. So, once you get it positioned correctly, it's uh it's not bad at all.
4:15 So, I want to give you guys another closeup of the of the uh the rubberized
4:19 grippy parts here so that you can get some idea of whether your stuff's going
4:23 to get damaged or not. So, you can see there's actually like a super soft,
4:29 super sticky grip all inside the insides of these hooks as well as on the back
4:32 here. So, you don't have to worry about your fragile electronics getting
4:36 damaged. So, this guy right here allows
4:39 us to take the screw out completely. And then what we can do is we can go ahead
4:44 and open the whole thing up in order to get compatibility for larger devices
4:48 such as tablets. All you got to do is take it, throw it back onto the life
4:53 form claw, screw the metal screw back in
4:57 first until it goes all the way. And you can tell it has a bit of a it has a bit
5:01 of a feel to it. Like you well, you feel it sort of. Okay. And then you throw
5:06 your tablet into the clamps and then
5:10 tighten them up, which is easy as long as you don't accidentally do up the
5:15 plastic one all the way. Okay. And then you tighten up the plastic nut. So now
5:20 that you've done that, your tablet is mounted to the life form. So you can go
5:24 ahead and, like I said, easy replacement for something like this because you are
5:29 now ready to mount your tablet and, you know, watch a little movie or do
5:32 whatever it is you want to do. You can also easily adjust it so that you can
5:35 sit it sort of the other way or whatever
5:39 else. You can rotate it. Actually, it's probably easier to just rotate the
5:43 tablet this whatever. Okay. The point is it's flexible. The point is you can take
5:47 it now. You can clip it onto the back of something and it's not really going to
5:51 go anywhere. Last thing that you can mount to it with these is a camera. So,
5:55 we're going to replace that tripody mount thing that we got going on there.
5:59 For this, you take off
6:03 There we go. You take this off completely and then this is threaded
6:07 correctly for the bottom of a camera. So that's not going to work yet until I
6:11 actually have a camera to put on it. So this is a pretty standard pretty
6:16 standard mount that you'll find on any sort of halfdecent camera. So you just
6:21 put that through there. Put that into the bottom of the camera.
6:25 And now you are ready to do sort of
6:29 crazy things with your camera like mount it wherever it is you want it to go. So
6:34 yeah, let's uh let's go back to sort of their example. Is it actually good
6:38 enough to do this? So let's see if the picture on the on the box is just
6:42 outright deceptive or if this can actually work.
6:46 Can that do that? Yeah, look at that. There you go. You can like zoom in and
6:51 stuff should you so desire. See, it's
6:54 very neat, actually. I think that pretty much wraps it up.
6:59 Thank you for checking out this unboxing and first look at the Life Form Mount

7:12 our fancy B-roll camera, I'm going to get our cameraman to come in here and
7:16 take like a nice sort of like spinning shot of our lazy Susan, which is also a
7:21 new addition to our set. And don't forget to subscribe.
