0:00 so we'll begin as always with a shout out to squarespace thanks for allowing
0:03 us to be here at ces 2016.
0:07 so we're here in the silverstone suite and we're going to start with the cases
0:11 we're going to have to run through these pretty quickly because they've got a fair amount on display as usual so we'll
0:16 start with the mlo8 and the rv zo2 they
0:20 actually feature the same internal structure with the main difference being
0:23 the design of the front fascia so what they've done with these puppies is
0:28 they've gone ahead and abandoned yes my friends they have abandoned three
0:33 and a half inch drives so they're assuming you've either got a
0:37 nas or you've got a two and a half inch storage drive and that's pretty much
0:41 good enough so you can fit an sfxl power
0:44 supply which is kind of a silverstone proprietary form factor but they've
0:48 actually got a fair number of options there an itx motherboard you can fit two
0:52 two and a half inch drives and there's actually ha you can tell i did another
0:55 take of this video because the SSD used to be in there well there you go this is
1:01 what happens when you try to install it with your offhand while you're trying to
1:04 do a video there we go boom tool-less two-and-a-half inch drive installation
1:07 as well as tool is five and a quarter inch drive installation with a simple
1:11 little plastic snap moving around to the back
1:15 there you go pretty much as big a graphics card as you could want to put in whether it's a
1:19 rear blower design or an open air design there's even a little bit of room at the
1:23 top for extra heat pipes or whatever else you're into the other big one over
1:28 here on the itx well actually i guess that third one is itx2 well
1:32 whatever don't stress about it so the other big one here is the rv
1:36 01-e the e is for evolution
1:41 and basically what they've done here is they've again eliminated three and a
1:45 half inch drive compatibility but they have added the ability to put a full
1:49 sized atx power supply in the same form
1:52 factor as the original rv z01 raven case
1:56 so you can instill install that large graphics card you can still install dual
2:01 120mm fans and i believe even a radiator up there if you're using one of their
2:06 slim radiators you can still install an itx motherboard and now you can put a
2:10 full size atx power supply in there the other thing you give up here though is
2:15 the five and a quarter inch slimline optical no longer an
2:20 optician option optical shin
2:25 which brings us over to the cs280 so if
2:28 you guys remember we actually did a build and what would sort of be the
2:32 bigger brother of this guy the ds 380
2:35 back when we did our uh actually up to 12 drive mini nas with seagate six
2:41 terabyte enterprise drives this one
2:44 still has that same kind of you know beautiful aluminum fascia kind of
2:49 premium nas look but again they've done away with three and a half
2:53 inch drives entirely yes you are expected to switch to either
2:59 using two and a half inch hard drives or
3:02 silverstone is ready for the future when people are starting to go full SSD on
3:08 their nas's so it supports up to eight of these little two and a half inch
3:12 sleds it's got a cooling fan vent thing
3:16 in the front with two 80 millimeter fans you go ahead and remove that and other
3:19 than that it's pretty much the most bog standard tiny little case that you could
3:24 possibly imagine other than the fact that it's got that massive backplane so
3:29 that you can install those drives without running any cabling up to the
3:32 drives themselves so you can use the little trays so
3:36 who's gonna build this i don't know but you guys can let me
3:40 know in the comments if you are ready for a two and a half inch drive based
3:45 navs and if i'm completely off my rocker saying that i'm a little bit confused by
3:50 this product although i do think it's very cool because i am one of the few
3:54 people on earth who actually has a solid-state based nas
3:59 so thank you for checking out our coverage of silverstone's cases and
4:03 again a huge thank you to squarespace for allowing us to be here at the show
