0:00 so today on my video blog we'll be unboxing the ASUS p7p 55d evo now the
0:05 evo board is positioned a little bit above the pro level board i mean they've
0:09 got a lot of p55 boards and it took me a little while to figure out what the
0:13 difference is between this and the pro board so you've got a 12 plus two phase
0:17 power design sli and crossfire 100 japanese made capacitors okay so that's
0:22 all fairly standard now one thing i noticed is in addition to the
0:25 productivity internet and games they've got a little server logo here so that's
0:29 not on the pro board okay so let's get
0:32 this opened up we've got a pretty similar accessory package we've got oh a
0:36 black i o shield then we've got your usb
0:40 and esata then we've got four SATA cables two
0:44 straight two right angle an ide cable
0:48 a q connector there and then we've got an sli bridge uh last
0:52 but not least of course is your manual as well as your driver and utilities dvd
0:57 okay so let's get this board out of the box
1:00 here we go if i could just yeah there we go
1:04 get this out so it looks a lot like
1:09 most of their other p55 boards so you can see here let's start with the
1:12 general layout we've got support for two pci express 16x slots at 8x 8x for sli
1:19 and crossfire operation this one runs at 4x electrical so then we've got your
1:23 chipset here it's cooled by their stylish new uh heatsink then we've got
1:28 eight seda ports so four of them are in the right angle
1:32 position four coming straight out of the board now i did notice that i'm gonna
1:35 get the camera camera lady today actually to have a look from more of a
1:39 distance so you can see we've got an extra SATA port versus the pro board
1:44 we've got extra power and reset switches on board versus the pro board and that
1:49 seems to be for the most part a big part of the
1:53 difference oh yeah we've got another gigabit Ethernet on the back but we'll show that
1:57 later okay so you've got your power connectors in their desirable places 24
2:00 pin on the right-hand edge and then your 8-pin connector with the little cover on
2:05 it up here at the top left and then you've got your CPU socket right in the
2:09 middle lots of room around it with the 12 plus two phase power design here
2:12 support for dual channel ddr3 as with all p55 boards now let's have oh this is
2:18 something that's really cool about this board actually is that you can see that
2:22 almost all of your onboard fan headers are
2:26 not really all of them okay well you've got a couple pwm ready onboard fan
2:30 headers so let's have a look at the back io so you can see here you got your ps2
2:34 you got a clear cmos button oh actually the pro board does not have a clear cmos
2:38 button awesome there's another difference so then you've got eight usb
2:41 ports you've got your digital audio out two gigabit Ethernet again the pro board
2:45 that only has one you've got firewire esata and 7.1 audio so thank you for
2:50 checking out my blog on the p7p 55d evo
