0:16 Basically, we needed some cases because I don't know if you guys follow me on
0:19 Twitter or not, but this is a case for the HTC1, which I desperately need. I
0:25 recently dropped it again and scratched
0:28 it pretty good. So, it comes with a little pink like bullet, which probably
0:34 has some sort of utility. There's a rubber thing on the top here that I'm
0:37 sure does something, but I'm not going to worry too much about that. Anyway,
0:42 uh, it also comes with a screen protector as well as a microfiber cloth
0:48 for cleaning off the screen before you apply it. And it comes with the case
0:52 itself. So, I'm not going to worry too much about the screen protector cuz I use liquid armor. But other than that,
0:57 there we go. My one is now more
1:00 protected and it looks a little something like that. Pretty snug fit
1:04 actually. It's not bad. And it's obviously not going to protect it from
1:08 any kind of like, you know, 20ft falls or anything like that, but still gives
1:11 you easy access to the ports you need as well as Yeah. See, it doesn't restrict
1:16 being able to plug anything into the 3 and 1/2 mil as well as the volume
1:19 control. And there you go. Nice and low profile. One of the things I don't like
1:23 about cases is that a lot of the time they're very bulky. and you know, you
1:27 buy this slim phone and then you put a huge case on it. It's like, what was the point of that? So, it's got a bit of a
1:31 soft touch, grippy feel to the back of it. This was the one I picked. Slick
1:35 picked a different case for his Galaxy S3. So, he picked their uh case for
1:40 Samsung Galaxy S3 S393.
1:43 So, this one right here is like a more
1:47 professional style looking case. So, you
1:50 clip the S3 in here. It's got a spot for your flash as well as your camera and I
1:54 I don't know. It's probably a speaker or something. Can't remember. I've never
1:58 actually done an overview of the S3 in anyway. So, this goes in like this. It's
2:02 got a little hinge right here and then closes over the S3 just like that.
2:07 There's a little got a little mini suit logo on it. Does add a little bit more
2:11 bulk than mine. So you can see mine's a lot slimmer, but includes a protective
2:16 screen cover and gives you the option to set up your phone like that if you want
2:20 to view it. And I think yeah, there's just uh one angle there for that. So
2:24 there you go. That was the one Slick picked. And then I actually don't have
2:28 my wife's phone on me, but she picked one that was very similar to mine anyway
2:32 for her Droid DNA. So this one's very similar to the one except instead of a
2:37 hard plastic case, it's more of a rubberized case. So, same thing,
2:41 minisuit branding, and that's pretty much it. Without having the phone there
2:46 to show you that one, I don't really have too many options. Other things that
2:50 I picked up are the Design Craft
2:54 Angrymon smartphone, analog woofer, and
2:59 cradle. So, there's a few different ways you can put your phone in it. So, number
3:02 one is woofer mode. So, the idea is that
3:05 your speaker, depending on where it's positioned, would be somehow enhanced by
3:10 putting it in like this. Number two is cradle. So, this will allow you to have
3:15 it sit there and sort of notify you if anything comes up. And last but not
3:19 least, you can use it for storage. So, they've got the idea being here that you can throw like a thumb tack and a paper
3:24 clip inside and that will be handy. So,
3:27 basically, I grabbed one of these so that I'd have something that I could put products on to show them off, as well as
3:32 something to sort of chuck my phone on so that I can see notifications when
3:36 they're incoming. And that is pretty much it for that. Pretty
3:39 straightforward. So, the bottom has little rubberized feet on it. It's
3:43 actually got kind of a a siliconey type
3:46 build to it, so it's quite flexible. And there you have it. That's pretty much it
3:51 for that one. And then this one, this is the one that I think is actually
3:54 probably the coolest thing. This is the My Vizu or Mi Vizu or whatever you want
3:58 to call it. M I V IZ U universal car mount system. Compatible cradle for all
4:02 types of handheld devices between 4 to 9 cm in width such as mobile phones,
4:08 smartphones, PDAs, mini GPS, and MP3, MP4 devices. So, this guy right here is
4:13 a universal mount for your car. And I've run into the challenge lately of wanting
4:19 to use my phone for GPS and having it be illegal to hold it because I live in BC
4:24 and the law has recently been changed. So, you're not really allowed to touch it. So, you have to find a way to mount
4:29 it without doing that. So, something like this looks like the solution. We're going to go ahead and mount this. We'll
4:33 be back in a moment. It is so friaking hot in this car. So, we're going to try
4:37 and do this pretty quickly. We're going to start with the air vent mount. So,
4:41 this one right here goes basically like
4:44 that. You attach it to It looked like it worked best to me when you hook it on to
4:48 the top vent. So, there you go. That secures into place. And then this bottom
4:52 one can be used to adjust the angle. So, you kind of put that wherever you want
4:56 it to go. And then you take the ah the
5:00 cradle here and you just press these two buttons. This is kind of cool. I like
5:04 this. It's all space age and junk. Uh anyway,
5:08 I I know I know they all work like this. Anyway, so there's uh rubber pieces here
5:12 that hold the phone into place. So, they've got a bit of a of a lipped shape
5:15 to them. See that? And so that it shouldn't slip out once it's actually
5:19 secured into place there. Then you just take that and put it on there.
5:25 All right. So, that, my friends, is the
5:28 universal air vent one, which has the added benefit of cooling your phone when
5:32 it Oh my goodness, I'm like sweating here. When it's hot like this. All
5:35 right. So, the next one here is adjustable in a number of different ways. So, you can undo this guy right
5:40 here. spin this around so that this can point in any direction you want. Then
5:45 you can also twist it in any direction you want. Secure it where exactly you
5:49 want it to be. Then all you got to do is take this.
5:53 Okay. So the release, open it up like that and you can stick that oh, I don't
5:57 know, to your dash or to your window. So say for example, if you wanted to keep a
6:01 phone in the very top sort of right hand corner of your windshield, then you
6:05 could adjust this guy right here. Adjust
6:08 this guy right here. lock her into place. This is now secured. And then you
6:12 can use that to release it. Then you just pull that off there and put that on
6:15 there. If I can line it up, that'll help. There
6:20 we go. And then from there, actually, probably I wouldn't use this mount to
6:25 mount it vertically. I'd probably use it to mount it horizontally. It helps if
6:28 you turn it around the right way. Anyway, there we go. And then you could
6:31 use it for your GPS or whatever else you want to use it for. So, it clips into
6:34 place. Doesn't move.
6:40 Oh, let's see if my bike gets hit. Here we go. Here we go. Dash cam. Dash cam. Dash cam.
6:44 Nope. So, here's a line. How to get a uh a traffic violation ticket instantly
6:49 tip. There you go. That's how you actually affix it to things. So, you can
6:52 see that's actually on there pretty good on the windscreen of my bike. The bike
6:56 itself is actually moving pretty good.
6:59 And that's uh that hasn't come off yet. So then we can take our our joint right
7:04 here and that we'd have to be smoking if we were actually going to attach a phone
7:09 to the front of our bike like this. And uh there you have it. So, in theory,
7:15 which I do not recommend doing because in addition to getting a ticket, it
7:20 also, particularly if you're in a riding posture down here, kind of pretty much
7:24 destroys any any visibility that you might have had in front of yourself,
7:28 which is the direction that motorbikes move. Um,
7:33 yeah, in theory, this this could work, but please don't do this. I just wanted
7:37 to find out if it would even mount to the because it's quite a curved screen
7:40 here, but you can see it's quite securely mounted. See, we could look
7:44 over here. See?
7:48 There we go. Don't forget to subscribe to Linus Tech Tips for more unboxings,
