0:00 So, for those of you who are pretty uh adept at guessing things, you might have
0:05 guessed when we did the Vesta R1 limited edition system that perhaps we would do
0:09 a Vesta G1 limited edition system. I am pleased to announce that the Vesta R1
0:14 was a complete success. We sold out all five systems in a matter of hours. So,
0:19 we are actually going to be doing a larger run of the Vesta G1. At this
0:24 point, it looks like we're probably going to do somewhere between 20 to 30 systems and they are going to be, wait
0:30 for it, painted green, right? Right.
0:34 Because it's NVIDIA. Yes. Okay. So, we have our prototype system in the paint
0:37 shop right now, but I wanted to show you what Crazy Russian's been working on at
0:41 his crazy test bench. So, this is the Vesta G1 in its most being tested form.
0:49 So, I'm gonna walk you guys through the specs. We're actually going to do two different versions of the system. One of
0:54 them is going to have a Core i7 970 6
0:57 core processor with 12 gigs 12 gigs of
1:00 RAM. It's going to have a single GTX 590 and it will have an AX 850 power supply.
1:08 Now, the upgraded version is going to have a Core i790X
1:12 extreme edition processor, 24 gigs of RAM, and dual GTX 590s for which it will
1:17 need an AX 1200 W power supply in order to run adequately. So, we're going to be
1:22 building for our demo system the more basic model because that's what most
1:26 people will likely be buying. And I just want to walk you guys through what else
1:30 is going to be in here. So, come in and get some shots of the test bench because this looks awesome. This is the GTX 590.
1:36 We've got the G1 Killer Sniper motherboard from Gigabyte, which is
1:40 going to match perfectly with our with our GeForce themed color scheme. We are
1:45 not going to be using a stock cooler. We are actually going to be using the Corsair H70 again. And for our boot
1:50 drive, we won't be using Crazy Russian's fail ancient hard drive. We will be
1:55 using a Corsair Performance 3 series SATA 31 128 GB SSD.
2:01 Uh we will I think I already mentioned we were going to use the AX850 in the
2:05 base model and we're going to have a Blu-ray uh writer. Actually, most of the
2:09 specs are fairly similar to the R1. The big difference is going to be the GTX
2:14 590 and the other big difference is going to be that we are using the X58
2:19 platform with triple channel memory and a six core processor instead of the
2:23 quadcore processor and P67 platform that
2:27 we used last time around. So, this is just it's more of a a variation rather
2:31 than being like uh better or worse because the G1 will be more suitable for
2:36 things like video encoding, uh video rendering, uh anything with uh with 3D,
2:42 okay, not necessarily games. Whereas the R1, because it only has four cores, is
2:47 not quite as fast for those things, but is also very very fast for gaming. These
2:50 are still gaming systems. And I think that's pretty much everything I have to
2:54 say about the G1. So you guys do stay tuned as we are going to be doing some
2:58 in progress updates on the Linus Tech Tips channel and I will show you guys as
3:02 soon as I get my hands on the case. It looks like it's probably going to be Monday morning I'll get a chance to look
3:06 at the case. Don't forget to subscribe to Linus Tech Tips for more unboxings,
3:10 reviews, NCX PC videos, and all kinds of
3:13 other great stuff. Thanks for watching. Crazy Russian gave me a hard time for
3:17 forgetting to mention that what's so awesome about the Sniper board is that
3:20 it has hardwarebased X5. That is a creative CA20 K2 chip and it also has a
3:26 hardwarebased E2100 Killer Nick card
3:30 built in with its own cache. So that is actually a pretty good value because you
3:34 don't have to buy a sound card. You have a headphone amped very very decent sound
3:39 card built right into the motherboard as well as a dedicated gaming nick.
