0:11 prior to the opening of the main show to have a sneak peek at some of the stuff
0:15 that they'll be showing off on the show floor. So, to my left, we've got their
0:19 new super UHD TVs, which is UHD, so 3840
0:25 by uh 2160 resolution, but now with
0:28 super. So, there's actually three lines within their LCD lineup of super UHD
0:33 TVs, and you get a variety of different features, better contrast, uh things
0:37 like high dynamic range depending on which tier you spring for. But this is
0:42 the real star of the show. So, it's part of LG's new signature series concept,
0:48 which is supposed to be the best of what they can do in terms of design as well
0:53 as performance. And while some of the other products in the Signature series
0:56 are stuff that we don't generally cover, like washing machines, this is
1:01 definitely right up our alley. So, this is the G6 series of OLED TVs, and it
1:07 builds on the previous generation flagship OLEDs from LG in a number of
1:12 key ways. So number one is that while
1:15 you can't improve on perfect black, that is to say the pixel being effectively
1:20 off whenever there's black displayed on the screen, you can improve the maximum
1:24 brightness. So it's still effectively infinite contrast, but this allows it to
1:30 achieve what LG is calling HDR Pro. So,
1:35 it's a level of high dynamic range image
1:38 quality that you can't achieve unless you've made the tweaks that they've made
1:42 to the pixels in the last year. They've actually dramatically improved the color
1:46 reproduction of them as well, making these TVs capable of 99% of the DCI
1:53 cinema color space, much like those LG monitors that we use to produce our
1:57 videos back at the studio, which is all fine and good. That covers the
2:02 performance part of the signature series, but I haven't talked anything
2:06 about the design, and it shouldn't come as any surprise that LG's come back this
2:10 year with bigger and yes, my friends,
2:14 the other big trend, thinner. So, this puppy right here is actually an
2:18 astonishing 2.7 mm thick across pretty much the entirety
2:26 of the back of the display. Okay. Yes, there is a little bump in the back for
2:30 some structural support as well as to attach to the bass which cleverly, by
2:34 the way, integrates a Harman Carden collaborated 4.280 W soundbar. But the
2:40 actual electronics have been moved outside of the TV. Something that I've
2:44 been I've been saying someone's going to do this eventually. They're going to have to build a thinner TV and they're
2:48 going to go, "Okay, well, we've run out of room for HDMI ports even. Let's just
2:52 take it completely outside of the box." And they have effectively done it. Not
2:56 only that, but the OLED panel is now mounted on a gorgeous piece of glass,
3:01 giving it a very premium look and feel. Not to say that I'm recommending that
3:05 you go and touch your TV all the time. It's just that the image looks so
3:09 unbelievable, even here in the suite, which is not necessarily ideal viewing
3:12 conditions, that you might actually be tempted to. So, thanks for checking out
3:17 our coverage of the LG suite here just kind of in advance of the rest of the
3:22 show at CES 2016. I want to take this time to give a huge shout out to
