0:00 Here at the Razer booth, we're checking out the Orb Weaver. This is a very
0:03 premium, we're talking over $100, dedicated game pack. Welcome to Linus
0:08 Tech Tips at CES 2013. Our trip to the show this year is powered by Corsair,
0:13 maker of quality PC components and peripherals. Our trusted storage partner
0:17 is Seagate Technology, and our trusted networking partner is Lynxys.
0:24 It offers some functionality that a keyboard just plain can't because of the
0:29 ergonomics of a game pad like this. Now, they've also taken some of the design
0:33 concepts that came from newer products like the Oro Boros in terms of allowing
0:39 better ergonomics depending on the size and shape of your hands. So, what makes
0:44 this a premium game pad? Well, it's got green LED backlights. It's got a
0:47 beautiful matte finish. Other than that, check this out, guys. Cherry MX blue
0:53 switches all over the place. These are
0:56 all fully custom key caps so that you can comfortably reach all of them. And
1:00 it is fully mechanical. Even the D-pad on the side right here is mechanical. It
1:05 is 8way mechanical. So it's not kind of an emulated in between diagonals. No, it
1:10 actually has dedicated diagonals. It's fully compatible with Synapse 2.0, which
1:15 means you can program any key to do anything you want to. Whether it's just
1:19 remapping it, whether it's a macro, you can even, it even has a shift
1:23 functionality. So if you want more than 20 fully programmable keys, you can go
1:28 shift over here and program another set
1:33 of 20 key functions. So you can do 40
1:36 things with this game pad alone, which is very, very impressive. Now, I want to
1:41 show you guys how the adjustability works. Down here, you got a couple
1:44 little buttons. You got one right here. So you can pop this out. There's four settings from XL, L, medium, small, and
1:51 then this guy right here has a button that slides out in four settings right
1:54 here. The unit is extremely well built overall, and it feels very solid, which
1:58 is good because the gaming peripherals can get thrown around a little bit. And
2:01 it has, look at this. This is a rubber surface. These are rubber surfaces.
2:05 These are rubber surfaces. You put this thing down, it's not going anywhere. I'm
2:10 pushing on it really hard. Okay, so there you go. Adjustability wise. So,
2:14 I'm going to put it down as low as it goes. There you go. I can reach
2:19 comfortably. I can reach D3. I can reach 18. No problem. Now, what we're going to
2:24 do is we're going to put Slick's hand on this thing. Yeah, that's not going to
2:28 work. That's not going to fly, folks. No, not going to work. Okay, so we're
2:31 going to go ahead going to expand it for his baseball mitts. Slick, tell me what
2:36 you think now. That's a lot better. There we go. That's more like it. So, it
2:41 actually will work no matter what your hand size is. And I'm just trying to
2:46 think if there's any Ah, yes. I'm missing one more thing about the customizability. This pin right here.
2:51 Pop that out. And you can actually adjust the positioning of the palm or
2:55 the the inside of your palm rest as well. So, if you want a more flat
2:58 profile, whereas you could see the way Slick held it was more like this. I
3:02 would probably hold it more flat. However, you can even put it in free
3:05 play mode by simply pulling out the pin and then you can adjust it or however
3:10 you want and just have it just sit there and well, I already called it free play
3:13 mode and that's what it's called, so I don't have another word for it. I think that pretty much covers everything that
3:18 we can say about the Orb Weaver from Razer. Don't forget to check out all of
