0:00 hey so we remodeled our warehouse organization vlog definitely incoming so
0:05 you guys can pulverize the like button if you're stoked on that but
0:10 that is not the subject of today's video today's video is all about how the
0:15 window in my office that we just remodeled and decorated got
0:19 moved to here
0:23 leaving me with no window and the super high tech solution that
0:27 i'm going to use to fix the problem
0:39 savage jerky is created without the use of nitrates or preservatives use offer
0:45 code LTT to save 10 through the link in the video description
0:50 okay so we had to make a choice replace the window that used to be for
0:55 looking out over my empire with a window
0:58 for looking out into part of a stairwell part of an office space and part of the
1:03 middle of a wall or rip it out and dry all over it
1:08 leaving me with only tragically a window out into the bench den now
1:13 obviously since you're already watching footage of it we went with dry walling
1:17 over it so that's done now but as you can see they didn't actually
1:23 paint over it to get it to blend in because
1:27 while a plain wall would have been fine
1:30 we had a much cooler idea one that some members of our Floatplane community
1:35 totally clued into during our exclusive office update videos over the last eight
1:39 weeks what if we could use the lg signature series
1:44 OLED wallpaper tv that we first saw at
1:48 ces to kind of have a window here
1:52 to anywhere it's less than four millimeters thin so
1:56 Yvonne actually came up with a few different concepts uh one that's more of
2:00 a meeting place so the idea is that like
2:03 you could be sitting here chilling discussing something while
2:08 giraffes are like nearby and then two of them that are
2:12 more like workspaces where it could be used as a window
2:15 or a backdrop or just to watch videos
2:19 play games or whatever although i'm going to need
2:22 i'm going to need some blinds for my office so no one can see that i'm just
2:26 totally wasting time in here so to evaluate its utility for our
2:31 purposes tyler set the tv up on a sacrificial wall here that's actually
2:36 going to be torn down as part of some ongoing set construction over the next
2:40 couple of months all of the electronics for the tv are in
2:44 a separate speaker bar unit so the way it mounts is actually by screwing a big
2:51 flat piece onto the wall then there are
2:54 these little washers at the top that jut
2:57 out a bit to support the weight and then the tv is held flat against the wall
3:04 my magnets oh i just pulled it off oh there you go
3:09 okay first things first though i need to figure out why it's not actually sitting
3:12 flat right now okay so is it not lifting up there we go oh man
3:18 that is so trippy
3:21 look at this thing okay so tyler
3:25 if i hold it it's crazy how light it is
3:30 i got it yeah so
3:34 well if we if we were to screw this in does that look better
3:38 okay so we need to screw this in
3:49 okay that's definitely flat these ones are good
3:54 so uh how do you line this up
3:57 are you on so we're both on
4:01 all right and now
4:04 now it's flat awesome that was a relatively simple fix
4:09 perfect look at that
4:13 okay beautiful fingerprints removed let's
4:17 fire it up okay
4:20 so now all we need is some stuff to hook up to it and let's get this party
4:24 started first things first i will need a gaming capable test bench
4:29 titan xp baby that's the thing about reorganizing is
4:32 you don't know where anything is and ah
4:36 silva
4:40 and the last ah there we go our ultra hd blu-ray player
4:48 HDMI cable of choice
4:51 xbox one s we
4:54 okay so all the i o power
4:58 this ribbon up to the tv that i'm kind of yanking on pretty hard here
5:02 Ethernet uh usb and then HDMI
5:07 is all along this little bottom unit here
5:11 pretty cool so there
5:14 that wants to go right there
5:17 okay so this thing really doesn't match our color scheme we got going on here
5:22 maybe we can kind of uh i don't know what cooling is going to be like but i
5:26 mean realistically come on as an xbox i'm not going to play games on it
5:31 so hopefully it'll stay cool enough to play
5:35 back blu-rays and then we're good
5:41 okay let's switch to that input
5:45 remote hasn't changed since the last lg signature that's not necessarily a
5:49 problem though i actually really like the air pointy
5:52 doodad thing that we got going on here no keyboard detector what
6:01 it is kind of amazing how much of a difference it makes to the
6:06 look when there's no bottom bezel at all
6:10 and when we install it as the as a window we're actually gonna hide the ribbon
6:15 cable so it's just gonna be
6:18 floating there i don't even know if i'm going to be able to play back these red raw files
6:22 here this is not good news yeah without the uh the playback bar
6:28 i could kind of buy that
6:33 you know what i think we're gonna have to do though
6:37 this is funny i'm gonna have to get brandon to shoot
6:40 at a higher frame rate i think to make it a bit more believable
6:44 60 FPS 8k footage baby you know it's times like
6:49 this i really hate that we have to upload our videos to youtube where they
6:52 get compressed to hell because honestly this looks amazing and
6:57 the bitrate isn't even that high like we export it
7:00 i mean it's high enough that my Wi-Fi connection is causing it to buffer but
7:04 look at this honestly this is worth just pausing on
7:09 to admire it so that's 8k footage off
7:12 one of the world's best cameras on arguably the world's best tv
7:17 look at the detail in the water and look you can like see brandon's face shooting
7:22 the video so if there was any doubt that we
7:26 actually shot this tomb raider very high
7:31 running at 4k 60 FPS
7:35 that's gorgeous
7:39 okay so last order of business
7:44 let's fire up a 4k HDR blu-ray okay hdcp handshake
7:50 with the xbox one s is running perfectly and i think we're basically green lit on
7:54 this project everything that i expected to be good about it is good about it i
7:58 mean none of this is really that surprising i'm already running an lg
8:01 outlet at home but uh stay tuned for part two because we have
8:07 quite a plan check this out i was playing with this off camera you can actually bend this
