0:00 So, I think at this point I've unboxed almost every SSD from OCZ, but the one
0:05 that I haven't looked at is the Vert.Ex series Turbo Drive. So, these are almost
0:10 the same as the regular Vert.Ex drives. That means they're a 2 and 1/2 in solid
0:14 state drive. They have 64meg cache. They come in 30, 60, and 120 gig capacities.
0:20 But the key difference for this one is that the Vertex Turbo features the
0:25 Indelinks controller, the Indareoot controller. It's the same one, but
0:30 unlike every other Indelinkx drive on the market, it is slightly overclocked.
0:34 So that means that the Indelinkx controller in the Vertex Turbo can
0:38 actually process data just a little bit
0:42 faster than in the Vert.Ex, the Agility, and every other Index drive on the
0:45 market. So, let's without further ado, get this baby opened up and have a look.
0:50 Oh, you know what? Here, here, hold on. Sorry, camera. Here, come have a look here. So, we've got the basic specs
0:55 here. read up to 240 megabytes per second and write up to 145 megabytes per
0:59 second with sustained rights of 100 megabytes per second. These are not the
1:03 important specs. The important specs come down to the random reads and
1:06 writes, which the Vertex already does quite well. So, the Vertex Turbo just
1:09 adds a little bit of icing on that cake. Okay, you've got an installation guide,
1:13 warranty info, preparation before use, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
1:16 Okay, thank you. And then we get to the Vert.Ex Turbo Drive itself. So, it looks
1:22 almost exactly like a Vertex drive except that Oh, man. If I can get this
1:27 open. Yeah, there we go. Ah, except that
1:31 it has yellow on the sticker. Just like
1:35 that. Okay. So, it's a matte black top and you've got your Vertex series Turbo
1:39 Sa 2 solid solid state drive sticker on the top on the Oh, yeah. Mounting. So,
1:44 it uses the normal 2 and 1/2 in mounting holes. So, you can use the OCZ SSD
1:49 adapter or you can use like basically any other SSD adapter. It's perfectly
1:53 compatible with most notebooks out there. So, you've got both of the
1:56 mounting options on there. Here's another some kind of warranty
2:00 information thing. On the back of the drive, you will find your SATA power and
2:04 SATA data interfaces. These jumper pins are only for flashing the firmware, so
2:08 only use them if you're instructed to by OCZ or their website. Thank you for
2:12 checking out my unboxing of the OCZ Vert.Ex X series Turbo Drive. Oh, by the
2:17 way, uh, don't turn it off yet. This is a 60 gig. Um, I don't think I ever
2:21 actually mentioned that. So, there are also 120s and 30s.
