0:07 Now, if you're following me on Twitter at Lionus Tech, you'll have seen my post
0:10 the other day that the old TechTip studio is no more. I was clearing it out
0:16 and done with it. I've also posted a couple preliminary pictures of the new
0:20 and improved TechTip studio, but I wanted to take you guys on a quick
0:24 little tour. So let's start with the
0:27 TechTips rack which uh used to be in the room that was adjoining to our old
0:32 TechTips studio. So this is our rendering machine where we do any sort
0:36 of video editing. This is our test bench where we can well put things on a test
0:40 bench and uh where Slick can benchmark where he won't disturb me and Diesel
0:45 over on the other side anymore cuz it used to be that his his rack was totally
0:49 in the wrong place. Then we got a KVM up here which will allow us to switch
0:52 between those two machines. some storage here. Now, I used to have kind of a
0:56 separate room for storage, but now I'm going to keep all the storage on one
1:00 side of here. If you look down, this used to be two rooms and there was a
1:04 door in between them, but I actually opted to have the wall completely removed so we'd have a more open space
1:09 in here. So, all the storage will be in this corner and then also in this corner
1:13 as well. So, that's cases and weird stuff, monitors, stuff like that. And
1:18 then this is your smaller stuff. Your video cards, your motherboards, your
1:21 memory, your CPUs, all that kind of hoo-ha in this corner with all the
1:26 random networking stuff. All the networking stuff goes on the top because
1:29 I very rarely sort of use that stuff. Now, this is my green screen wall. So,
1:35 we got special chroma key paint. And this way I can unbox things in space if
1:40 it comes to that. And I've also got something that I need to unbox pretty
1:44 quick here, the Node 605 from Fractal Design. So, this will be the unboxing
1:48 table. And what we'll do is we'll
1:52 actually position the camera over there so that what can happen is you can
1:56 either point the camera this way at the green screen or the green background.
2:02 And if we want, we can then just turn it around and point it at what is the NCIX
2:07 tech tip set and also painted in chroma
2:10 key blue just in case we wanted to do some chroma keying on a blue background.
2:14 So, here you'll recognize the usual NCX
2:17 Tech Tips table as well as well, here's
2:20 our TV, but we ran into a bit of sort of an issue where
2:25 the TV is kind of too big for our new set. So, you can see I've got uh
2:29 wall-mounted outlets here. So, that I'm going to drill a hole, or rather cut a
2:33 hole. I have one of those uh one of those handy dandywall saws around here
2:38 somewhere. I'm going to cut a hole and then I'm going to run an HDMI cable
2:41 down, but this is too big. So, we're going to replace it with something
2:45 that's smaller and something that finally has a matte screen and a matte
2:50 bezel. So, you're not going to see so many reflections in the screen, which is
2:53 sort of sort of brutal. Then over here,
2:57 this is the Tech Tips whiteboard where I usually have uh this is what you see me
3:01 glancing at of the corner of my eye when I'm trying to cheat and read stuff.
3:05 Then, we've got our portable monitoring station. So, the tripod will actually go
3:10 here in the middle of the room. So, it's just a matter of turning around the lights to shoot that way and turning
3:14 around the camera and the lights to shoot this way, which is very cool. Then
3:17 we have another rack over here. Not sure exactly what I'm going to do with this
3:21 one yet. This will either be another test station for Slick to work on, or it
3:25 can be something where we run things temporarily in order to uh do some kind
3:29 of a demonstration over on the TechTips table there. So, this will be just kind
3:33 of a portable rack. We might keep things like extra peripherals that we sometimes
3:36 need to film and uh you know like the tech tips shirts and all that kind of
3:41 stuff. So So this is just kind of a utility rack for the time being. So
3:46 that's pretty much it guys. Thank you for checking out my little tour of the
3:49 Oh, and the cables bin. Hold on. You have to see the cables bin. Thank you
3:52 for checking out my tour of the all new and improved NCX TechTip studio. Don't
3:57 forget to subscribe for more videos. Probably not many videos like this one,
4:01 but like more videos like other stuff.
