0:00 the whole time that would be sick that would actually be an excellent That
0:04 would actually be an excellent show probably um Yeah Burkel would watch it
0:08 anyway i'm saying Burkel should do it yeah uh I don't know if I want to
0:13 encourage him to do any more downhill biking than he already does i do if he
0:17 ruins his legs he can just wheelchair into his editing forget his legs he
0:21 could have ruined his his entire self in
0:24 that last accident you can't you can't not do things cuz they're scary
0:28 so I think he should keep downhill biking i think he should not break
0:32 himself but I do think he should keep biking so they've actually this is kind
0:36 of funny a number of you have been asking about this okay orange to be
0:43 clear this is actually not the W show
0:46 set at the Should I pick up the camera and um like look out the window and
0:51 stuff or should I super not you know what we could do no way we could do this
0:56 where is my other capture card okay it's
0:59 in inventory um do you wanna Do you wanna uh Oh what would be the best way
1:04 to do this brandon has a wireless HDMI
1:08 thing oh so maybe like a special sneak
1:12 peek at moving vlog stuff that Well mind
1:15 you we've got moving vlog coming out like every day right now i just wanted to show this room to show how temporary
1:19 it was sure sure yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah sure sure sure show Show them the
1:23 room show them what's up uh watch get your get your landmarks for where the
1:27 the framing goes so that you can put it back easily oh I can't see very there's
1:31 a menu on here oh uh
1:35 I'm going to not move it sure okay never
1:38 mind you don't get to see anything but it's super temporary yeah it's it's
1:42 basically it's horrible um wait I have a
1:45 new solution what okay I'll be right back i'll be right back okay i don't
1:50 know how far away he's going okay he's going pretty far away um basically we're
1:55 in what's going to be I think this is
1:58 the library ed's looking at me through the
2:02 window having Windows here is going to be really weird can you hear me at all
2:05 can you hear me is this the
2:11 library lions is coming back is this the library yes yes okay so we're in what
2:16 will be eventually the library which isn't really going to be a library at
2:20 all it's actually just going to be kind of a quiet area dude i So I walk past
2:25 John oh cool and uh Oh I have I can
2:31 unplug my mouse nope it's all good so I walk past John and I hear on his
2:36 headphones no wait i have a
2:39 solution right as I get over there and
2:42 implement my solution i'm like John what
2:45 are you watching wow he's supposed to be moving things so
2:49 we are still not quite done we're still not quite done the move uh it's coming
2:55 very done we still have a ton I meant to
2:59 say inventory we're not quite done inventory like none of the desks are
3:03 built none of the computers are rebuilt um none of the monitors are unpacked
3:08 there's Yeah there's huge amounts of
3:11 work still to be done um but yes most
3:15 things are actually in inventory and that I guess is another teaser for the
3:20 uh hot dog day yes
3:24 so for those of you who don't know there
3:27 will be uh we actually haven't confirmed hot dogs there are some potential
3:31 liability issues with serving food oh
3:34 yeah cuz we're not a licensed established restaurant and beverage so
3:42 So basically yeah it's it's really not certain what kind of What that sounds
3:46 like bull crap cuz like every bank or whatever will have like Yeah you might
3:51 have to get a but Okay we're looking into it oh you might need like a K or
3:54 you might need like a permit or like something i don't know i don't know i
3:58 don't know if we're going to have time to deal with it my bank is legitimately small enough that I could probably ask
4:02 whoever runs it how they do it okay well either way I haven't actually promised
4:08 food in any way my bad what will definitely be happening day is a meetup
4:13 so we're doing a meetup on August 21st uh we're all going to roll into work a
4:18 little late like maybe noonish and then we're going to work a little late so
4:21 people who work can can swing by a little bit later on in the day there
4:25 will also be an accompanying garage sale
4:28 yes yes the the the legendary garage
4:33 sale that we've been talking about since we were supposed to be moving someone in
4:36 chat says you can get one from city hall okay well whatever i I straight up don't
4:41 know if we're going to have time easy so forget about the food for now it may or
4:45 may not happen if it's there it's a bonus i'm promising nothing you can
4:49 bring your own food you could certainly bring food um but what there will be is
4:53 a meetup what there will be is a garage sale so we need to get rid of some space
4:58 consuming stuff uh we're also potentially um depending on what the
5:03 demand is potentially going to do tours of the new office so uh in small groups
5:08 if people want to come around accompanied by someone they'll be able
5:11 to check out where the magic will be happening from now on so that is
5:16 happening on August 21st you know how you know how museums and stuff will have like the the like airport line
5:21 management things that would be sick we should just do it with Ethernet cables
5:27 like tape Ethernet cables over certain doors so you can't go in if I didn't
5:31 think that um someone somewhere was
5:35 going to murder you for uh wrecking their uh their awesome like cable
5:41 wrapping job oh by unwrapping all the
5:45 cables then I would say sure uh Burke
5:49 has spent two days entire days working
5:53 on wrapping up cables and categorizing them correctly so it's awesome though i
5:58 needed a power squid for this room and it was just instantly available yep
6:02 everything is a place for everything everything in its place okay so here's
6:07 my solution to uh checking out this room hold on let me just fix this i'm going
6:11 to try not to make you guys too nauseated so in the ceiling you can see
6:16 that many of the ceiling tiles Well you would be able to see that if it wasn't
6:20 for the Yeah there we go for the light there many of the uh ceiling tiles are
6:24 missing that is so that we can get our final inspection at a later time
6:30 um you can also see things like that
6:33 glass door has a big blue X on it there's a wire sticking out of the wall
6:38 there is debris on the floor and a fan
6:42 cuz we still don't have air conditioning it is so hot it's really hot it is so
6:47 here is me trying to get the WAN Show
6:50 going quickly just dumping things out of
6:54 my bag um oh and some people commented
6:58 on Luke's sick chair with the Lionus
7:01 Tech Tips embroidery um that was that was one brand's attempt to uh win us
7:07 over for the chairs that we're going to be using for the new office but we
7:11 actually didn't go with them we ended up going with Max Nomic just because we
7:16 found that out of all the like racing gamey looking chairs that we've tried
7:21 they were the most uh comfortable and the construction on them is really
7:25 really solid so we ended up going that route everyone saw my knife oh your Are
7:31 they talking about your knife or my knife possibly your knife cuz my knife
7:34 was also sitting on the floor when I panned around to my bag so probably your knife then there you go yeah I really
7:39 like this knife i got it on Mass Drop they're not a sponsor today though so I don't have to talk about them all right
7:44 so why don't we actually do why don't we actually do a topic here i'm going to
7:48 pull the uh Yeah I don't you know guys
7:51 another thing that we should do on W show sometime we should do the W we should do the W show about people that
7:56 were late and we should do a WAN Show where the entire time we are almost
8:00 starting a topic and we never actually complete any topic we should always just
8:05 almost lead into one and then sidetrack every time the time stamp yeah you know
8:09 the thing about that idea is now that you've said it it won't happen but we
8:13 could do it in like a year it could no but it could have easily happened on its
8:17 own yeah yeah i mean how many I think we've been pretty close how many times
8:21 have we been trying to talk about some kind of actual topic on this show only
8:26 to be led into like I mean okay get this
8:30 the the access points that we're using for the new office um they're uh they're
8:36 made by Exclaim so I actually reviewed it uh the XI3 fairly recently love it
8:43 the hardware is awesome it is basically
8:47 almost exactly the same hardware as like
8:51 some Ruckus access point that is pretty much just badass um like slightly
8:57 limited right yeah the rated speeds are not amazing but it actually does it and
9:02 it can handle boatloads of clients and lots of traffic much more gracefully
9:06 than a consumer grade access point anyway the point is it lacks the
9:09 management capabilities of the higherend Ruckus gear which is why you're paying
9:14 like a third as much or whatever that works out to for awesome hardware so one
9:18 of the things that's uh missing is like a super awesome you know management
9:23 interface and I went and put a couple of
9:27 already configured access
9:31 points what is that 25 28 ft up in the
9:36 rafters of this building um and the way
9:39 that it works with exclaim is that it's
9:42 appbased and the phone that I configured them with that I believe it's tied to
9:47 unless something the phone I configured it with has been formatted since then so
9:53 I'm going to have to get a scissor
9:56 lift to hit that button on my access
10:00 point unless all of them unless there's only two up there unless XClaim can walk
10:05 me through this now they've said I should be able to do it okay but I have
10:09 tried getting into the web console which does exist even though it's barebones
10:13 the problem is I think one of mine might be really old inventory that doesn't
10:18 have the firmware update yet or something like it's just a
10:24 serendipitous comedy of errors thing are
10:27 you allowed to just grab one of the scissor lifts yes but the problem is
10:30 that our inventory system is in the way of the one in the back corner well so
10:36 yeah cuz like they're really easy to operate yeah it's been just one thing
10:41 after another like I mean this this is really great so the editors have been
10:46 bothering me for the um for access to
10:49 the archive to the vault server all week
10:54 and I've just been like "Yeah I'll get to it yeah I'll get to it yeah I'll get to it." The
10:57 problem is that um the vault server uses
11:02 an SFP plus network card this episode
11:06 brought to you by McDonald's delicious
11:09 dollar drinks for only a dollar as large as you can drink and ice cream that is a
11:15 little bit melted because heat is a thing and this room is hot luke don't
11:19 expect him to participate much for the next little bit unless he wants uh
11:23 dripping white liquid running down his
11:26 face and hands that wouldn't be terrible but like I don't really want to be that
11:30 sticky when I can't even shower here we should get a shower here you know what
11:35 it's something that we literally could do because I was actually thinking um so
11:40 right now we have two bathrooms uh which is a huge improvement over the last
11:44 office you know what's really funny is so many
11:47 people have been saying like one of the things they're really looking forward to
11:52 about the new office is more than one bathroom funny story the old office has
11:59 two bathrooms three actually yes so it
12:02 had three bathrooms one of which was completely functional and completely
12:07 accessible the reason that people weren't allowed to use it was because no
12:13 one would clean it um so absolutely and
12:17 since we're going to have exactly the same issue here and we're going to probably get like a cleaning service or
12:21 something to deal with that nothing would have prevented us from just having
12:25 the cleaning service at the old place but the problem is much like the
12:29 window-mounted air conditioning I kept
12:32 getting updates from our construction company that we were you know 2 weeks or
12:37 3 weeks out or whatever and so I was I do want to say that my dad like peaked
12:43 through the window and gave a time estimate which is probably still going
12:47 to be on track for like exactly correct
12:52 so it's been it's been very frustrating that no one other than Luke's dad who
12:57 didn't share this information with me knew when our I told you and you were
13:01 like "No no no it'll be 3 weeks." And he was like 2 months what I said was "No no
13:06 no." They say "Okay." Okay because I was pretty skeptical too that's fair all I
13:12 That's all I had to go on right so um So
13:16 what was I what was I even talking about right the ba bathrooms yeah people are
13:21 excited about bathrooms two bathrooms yeah yeah no shower yeah uh no cot but
13:26 there will be a sectional in the library that works yeah um and there's a new
13:31 plan for the conference room so we are no longer building up that thing to be a
13:36 bench what we're going to have and Esther mapped it out and drew it out and
13:41 it looks like it'll work with enough room for chairs is we're actually going
13:44 to have kind of a figure eight shaped table
13:48 so the people sitting on the side with less space can scooch their chairs back
13:53 towards each other to get out they're okay yeah so that's the new plan
14:00 should be good that sounds super weird yeah i I actually kind of like the idea
14:04 it's like I don't know and like if you have like a smaller group it won't feel
14:08 quite so big with a square table cuz it's very rare that we're going to have
14:12 a meeting of 10 people in there so I don't know i don't know cuz even
14:16 like Monday morning meetings should probably just be in the warehouse mhm or
14:20 in the editing den or like they can be anywhere everyone can just stand somewhere where you can stand a bunch of
14:24 people yeah they're like 10 minutes long back to your shower request so I was
14:29 actually thinking two bathrooms by the time we have you know 15 people working
14:33 here or whatever actually isn't necessarily even that great especially
14:37 when you might have any upwards of three to five people working in the warehouse
14:41 at any given time so I was kind of thinking because this is actually three
14:44 separate units we could just build like a little like standing shower and toilet
14:49 and sink like box and bring water in cuz
14:53 I want to bring a water line in from the main uh mechanical room cuz we actually
14:57 don't have water in the warehouse all we have are sinks so I was thinking we have
15:01 like an industrial sink sitting on the other side of the wall and then we have
15:04 the plumbing for like a shower and a and a and a toilet and a sink in there the
15:08 reason why I want to shower that's I don't know why we're talking about this on W show but whatever is for people
15:12 that might either bike to work or go work out before work starts and you're
15:17 not the first person to request it i've also requested it months ago i realized
15:22 why we wouldn't do it immediately it would just be pretty cool i also want a
15:25 cot so that I can sleep here then I just never have to leave because there's a
15:29 shower and then I could like store toothpaste and stuff somewhere this is
15:32 all part of your plan to game stream from here like late into the night isn't
15:37 it yep i knew it was going to be a mistake to give you a key to this place
15:43 that's exactly what our goo is doing i don't know i've got people saying "We
15:47 don't care about your bathroom where's the tech news?" Well 6,000 people
15:52 apparently care about our bathroom you know what's funny is speaking of caring
15:56 about the bathroom for those of you who aren't on Vessel um I think at least two
16:01 of the new office moving vlogs have footage of the insides of toilets in
16:07 them it is 100% Taran's fault what the
16:11 100% Taran's fault why uh well one of
16:14 them I get and might have been my
16:17 idea well he pointed the camera at it that makes it his fault it's like if
16:21 it's my idea to you know um you know rid
16:26 the world of Justin Bieber if someone else points a gun at him and pulls the
16:29 trigger I mean I can't take responsibility for that lots of people had that idea right and I didn't like I
16:35 didn't pay him to do it well I guess I did pay terror
16:38 and did you give him an order to do it um cuz that's a little bit different
16:43 what I said was point the camera at the toilet so you told him to do it you
16:47 specifically told him to do it and we're paying him to do so right but see I've
16:51 had this conversation with all of you i have all kinds of terrible ideas my
16:55 expectation from my team is that they
16:58 will apply you know a filter to the things that I say so that I know but you
17:02 went to the kill Justin Bieber thing well you know that's a whole other issue
17:06 i I think you're changing the subject if you were a commander and you told the s
17:10 soldier to point and shoot the gun you can't completely absolve yourself does
17:14 this look like the military to you you just use kill someone analogy hey you
17:18 think Justin Bieber's in the army you think Justin Bieber would last a day in
17:22 the army no I did not say he was in the army i did not so anyway the reason that
17:27 that one was interesting was that um it
17:31 was the toilet that the it was in the server room so it it had it had been not
17:37 the lid had never been opened for like 2 years since we put the printer on top of
17:41 it so I was like "What's that even i wonder
17:45 what's in there." Yeah um dried on caked
17:48 on probably remnants of whatever eats fecal matter cuz I suspect the fecal
17:53 matter would have been consumed by some kind of bacteria which would have then
17:57 died probably um Ed is apparently Instagramming
18:04 us show the McDonald's stuff it's for the sponsorship i pulled the thing off
18:08 no I'm just kidding there's no McDonald's sponsorship i do that every time i don't know why
18:12 um no i can I can totally I can totally
18:15 see that because otherwise there is table backwards otherwise there's Yes it
18:20 is so our knees are like right fit under
18:24 the table otherwise there is a distinct
18:27 possibility that you will eat the paper
18:31 I have had this problem not with ice cream cones usually that's a pretty big
18:35 piece of paper but uh on at least one
18:39 occasion I've picked up an apple i've
18:42 gone "If I don't remove that tag I'm going to eat it." And then you don't
18:45 remove it and then you eat it and then I'm like "Oh I should take the tag off
18:49 that." Oh oh cuz Okay let's let's talk apple eating
18:54 strategies for a minute here apple eating strategies how do you eat your
18:57 apples i peel the thing off first every single
19:02 time no question before I even start I wash it yep and then I basically use my
19:07 bottom teeth i like You're a bottom tooth fairther i'm a bottom toothther
19:10 you're a bottom tooth fairther you know what is You know what's funny about that
19:15 is I think it probably has Did you ever get like dental correction like braces
19:21 or or anything like that okay so what does I still have a bar behind my You do
19:26 behind my lower teeth i've never noticed that when we've uh Sorry
19:30 um what were you what were you saying uh
19:33 so what did they correct for you just two things just alignment yeah just
19:37 alignment okay so I had And bite a little bit but under or over i don't
19:42 remember and it wasn't very much at all so I had weren't even sure if I had to
19:45 do it i had like a ball and overbite i was like horse kid like it's amazing
19:50 like when I I had like this mullet and I had like these I have kind of big front
19:54 teeth in the first place and you know when they're like a good you know half a
19:59 centimeter ahead of the bottom ones it's
20:02 like smile like that man i was that kid
20:05 so um so I was always like I would do
20:10 things like open pop cans with my front teeth like like oh yeah that was me like
20:16 they were way out there so I um so I am
20:20 definitely a top teeth eater but here's the next thing big bites or small bites
20:26 big okay so for me like annoyingly
20:30 uncomfortably big bites yes okay then we're different teeth same strategy
20:35 because I'm all about you got to get kind low and then I'm going for as as
20:40 close to a perpendicular entry for the teeth as possible so you can pry
20:45 basically a third of the apple away i
20:48 just do that with my lower teeth it is all about the first two bites of the
20:52 apple after that everything goes downhill
20:56 cuz I don't like mushy apple
21:00 like I I'm actually one of those people i don't chew my food right like you know
21:03 how you're supposed to chew food like 20 times or 30 times or whatever before you
21:07 swallow it okay i don't chew my food
21:11 right if that's the case I don't right
21:14 because for me eating is like it's like
21:18 60% flavor 40% texture experience oh
21:21 yeah and the texture of eaten food it's
21:25 like would I eat it if someone else chewed it up and put it on the plate do
21:29 I want that in my mouth no and it's like and it's not just about germs like it's
21:33 like you know I'll kiss my wife it's not like I have a problem with mouthto-
21:37 mouth contact or saliva exchange
21:40 but like if she chewed up food and put it on a plate I'm not going to eat that
21:44 [ __ ] you ever done like a gum swap uh oh yeah who cares yeah yeah yeah does that
21:50 doesn't ruin the texture of the gum no that's actually why I asked that because
21:55 it it reinforces your not worrying about the germs thing but caring about the
21:59 texture thing okay toothbrush share or no
22:04 h I would never do it but I don't actually care you would never do it no
22:10 would you let Okay um because I would always assume that the
22:14 other person wouldn't want that to happen okay there's kind of two ways you can you can go with this though so you
22:19 would never borrow someone's but would you let someone borrow yours depends who
22:24 well we're assuming this is a significant other if it's a sign if it's
22:29 a significant other then yes I would but then she
22:33 she brushes her teeth like six times a day
22:40 is that like breakfast breakfast dinner and after every time she eats anything
22:44 she keeps a toothbrush and toothpaste in her purse really yeah that's fascinating
22:49 so like it would probably clean the toothbrush
22:55 okay they've been through this on Friends so we don't have to rehash this
23:00 but just because you're the cleanest thing in the house doesn't mean the
23:03 towel gets cleaner when you wipe yourself with it that's true um
23:09 uh I don't know i don't know i'm not that worried about it because I I don't
23:13 know i clean it off before and after every time I use it right okay so here's
23:19 the reason that I wouldn't use my wife's i'll let my wife use mine okay as long
23:23 as I get to it after she's done because
23:27 she doesn't hang it out to dry i dry
23:30 mine too she She lets it She lets it sit
23:33 in the puddle mine has a stand so I put
23:36 it on the stand i'm way too cheap for that well I got mine for free did I
23:41 haven't told you this story i got an electric toothbrush why would I know the
23:46 story of your free of your free toothbrush holder no because well it
23:50 wasn't a toothbrush holder it has a charging stand it has an induction
23:53 charging stand oh that's cool because I went to the dentist and he was doing
23:57 work or whatever and he was supposed to freeze part of my mouth but he like
24:02 pushed the injection thing after he pulled it out and it like froze a whole
24:06 bunch of my face unnecessarily and was like "Was this when you were getting
24:09 your wisdom teeth out?" Uh it was the start of that so he like super screwed
24:15 up and was like "Please don't sue me here's a free really expensive
24:19 toothbrush." And I was like
24:23 "Okay." So I have this like super ballin electric toothbrush that I paid $0 for
24:29 and then for the whole rest of the day my face was just like but awesome oh
24:33 well totally worth it in my opinion so yeah it has a stand thing so I cleaned
24:37 it off and then put it on the stand every time okay so I think it's actually
24:40 relatively clean like even when I throw them away they look super clean just the
24:44 bristles are all messed up i just use my toothpaste tube and I rest it on it yeah
24:48 yeah i used to do that i'd lay it on that i discovered a a pro brushing tip
24:52 though and I didn't like look this up but I couldn't figure this out i was
24:57 like the first time I brushed my teeth with a new toothbrush cuz you're
25:00 supposed to use extra soft right like everyone universally is supposed to use
25:04 extra soft and I actually have an issue with my gums receding which is
25:08 apparently pretty common in people who have had braces and I just brushed too hard for a long
25:14 long time and awesome pro tip for you
25:17 guys i was like every time I get an
25:20 extra soft toothbrush within a week it's like it feels really hard and really
25:26 stiff so now my morning routine and my
25:30 nighttime routine is I run water on the
25:33 toothbrush first and then let it sit for
25:36 two to five minutes while I do everything else and the bristles are
25:40 soft yeah no I do i didn't know that yeah does Do people know this i have
25:43 like truffle time i have relatively extensive toothbrush cleaning before and
25:48 after after I like Well no I'll clean it right away but then I would use it right
25:52 away oh so I wouldn't let it soak for a
25:55 bit yeah I don't let it soak it makes it way softer oh i didn't know that so do
26:01 you pre-oak your
26:04 toothbrush so yes I I knew about this no
26:09 I didn't turnip all right blah blah
26:15 blah i've got some people complaining this is the worst WAN Show ever this is
26:20 some of our best viewership on the WAN Show ever we have 7700 people watching
26:25 and we are half an hour into the show and haven't talked about anything that
26:29 is an alltime high like by a significant
26:33 margin
26:36 why do we even bother talking about tech at all we should just completely rebrand
26:41 the WAN Show the weekly um the weekly
26:44 lack of analysis and news show yeah the the the Wand the Wand show
26:53 and like it's unreliable
26:57 because it's late all the time because it's wireless
27:03 oh that's fantastic apparently I'm on the main page of
27:07 Twitch so apparently it's just because nothing is going on in esports right now
27:12 so there you go it has nothing to do with us hosting a good show nothing to
27:16 do with that at all we We often stream when there's like nothing specifically
27:20 going on summer Games Dunqu is going on what are
27:24 you guys even talking about oh I don't know how to screen share with you guys
27:28 easily here hold on a second uh games
27:31 done quick is awesome yeah but okay yeah
27:35 I had that set up a specific way you know what give me give me a sec i'm
27:39 going to have to figure out how to how to screen share this with you guys scene
27:43 seven oh okay uh yeah there's there's
27:47 132,000 people watching Super Mario Brothers 3 we're 132,000 people it's
27:52 super It's summer games done quick there is important stuff going on yeah yeah
27:55 take that you guys so add screen
27:59 capture and let's just grab this browser window boom h can sit over top of Luke i
28:05 hate that guy hey hey take that all
28:08 right that's the lightest show do you pre-oak your toothbrush no 47% of you
28:14 either do not pre-oak your toothbrush or
28:17 your brushing habits involve a
28:21 tuber for some reason
28:24 only 24% of you knew about this pro tip so I'm feeling pretty good about that
28:28 little life hack right there pretty high percentage considering I've never seen
28:32 someone do that ever okay so we have got a lot of people talking about the fire
28:37 pole do we should we Is there anything to address at this point other than to
28:43 beg you to please stop spamming my social media stop with #firepool more
28:49 like please continue depending on who you ask my girlfriend's Instagram is
28:55 literally just hashtagfirepool any photo that she posts
29:00 she'll be like "Oh blah blah blah blah blah." This random thing that has nothing to do with computers #Firepool
29:06 the whole thing wow i feel kind of bad
29:10 usually like her friends don't even post on it anymore because it's been just
29:13 completely taken over by by viewers i
29:16 mean is that a kind of like cyber attack
29:20 a little bit hashtag spamming she can't have like her own Instagram anymore cuz
29:25 it's been completely taken over by viewers it's kind of like It's kind of
29:30 like mafia wives you know like online
29:34 personalitywives they just you know they they just can't they just can't live
29:39 normal lives anymore that's all there is to it their social media is just doomed
29:43 from now on how's the audio in here i have no idea
29:48 have you listened to the show at all i have not you don't have headphones on i haven't seen anyone complaining yeah I
29:52 haven't seen anyone complaining and you know what i think the bot is just going on a banning spree right now this should
29:56 be pretty much about as bad as it gets we're in the library right now which is
30:01 not designed for audio at all and also has no furniture in it yet and has like
30:06 holes in the ceiling yeah when we're out in the studio it should be significantly
30:11 better than this i'm so excited about this oh my god the bot is banning so
30:16 many people guys I would be careful about the spam guys these are perma bans
30:20 the bot will wreck you
30:24 well the bot wasn't up last week so that's true the bot is back bam i was
30:29 wrecking people last week ah yes the manual wreckage i banned like 20 25
30:34 people cuz people were like "Oh the bot's not up." And then posting stuff
30:38 and I was like "Nope goodbye."
30:46 So uh internet speed speed test
30:51 new office update you guys so I was here
30:55 until almost midnight the other night uh I think it was like 10:30 11 something
31:00 like that and it was for a very good
31:04 reason check this out so as usual um
31:10 hold on group by date sorry i just set
31:13 up Windows 8 on my laptop so I'm like super not set up properly yet you You
31:19 really like it so far like ew you mean 10 10 did I say eight yes oh no no no i
31:24 am running Windows 8 i was going to be like you set up Windows 8 when everyone
31:27 else got Windows 10 no no no no no no no sorry um so I Hold on uh where where is
31:33 it i Oh yeah that's that's fine i'm not worried about that um you weren't
31:37 allowed no it's okay i actually talked to them um I talked to them about it i
31:41 cleared it with them colona so Oh what
31:44 the what the crap oh that's kind of cool
31:49 i actually haven't used the new version of XSplit that extensively it's pretty
31:53 sweet so I guess what I have to do is I have to grab this side of the screen
31:58 somewhat manually now though okay so there you go i'm replacing Luke again
32:03 bye that my friends is why I was here
32:07 late so apparently um our our ping to the
32:14 nearest uh to the nearest hub is 2
32:19 milliseconds we are extremely close to it he was like he was uh he was
32:24 tunnneled in doing some tests and he was like whoa what's your address again and
32:29 I was like blah blah blah he's like yeah you are like blocks from it
32:36 2 millisecond ping to the node and um so
32:40 this this test here was actually to a server in like Colona or something so
32:44 it's it's it's I don't even know if it's a great server is not going to be great
32:49 like our our best server to test to is actually in Seattle so Google was a 6
32:55 milliseconds there you go from here freaking sick so the 200 up 200 down is
33:02 actually not the most important aspect
33:06 of our speed test what's actually far more important for a speed test is the
33:12 is the latency because when you're browsing the web you have to wait for
33:17 your side and the other side to
33:21 acknowledge each other first before any data is transferred at all so when
33:25 you're doing something like downloading a Steam game Yeah that bandwidth number
33:30 that throughput number that's key but when you're doing something like
33:34 browsing social media um you know refreshing your Facebook page little
33:39 transactional stuff like that there's a guy in the Twitch chat with the handle
33:42 minus late tips Linus late tips yeah sorry that's just awesome keep going um
33:47 so when you're doing little transactional things that latency makes
33:52 way more of a difference so that that
33:55 low i was just explaining this whole thing to someone like yesterday so
33:59 that's really funny because I was talking about my new internet that I'm
34:03 getting right that should also let me stream better from home because I was
34:07 not able to do that right now you're moving to Telus Fiber aren't you yeah
34:10 and I'm my my network connection will be like doubling nice so I'll I'll be
34:16 getting like twice as fast they have a 200 down server service now don't they
34:20 and a 100 but you were on 50 down i was on 50 nice um and so my upload should be
34:25 better for those Twitch streams and uh
34:28 it'll it should just be better overall hopefully I'll be able to actually stream from there but honestly I'll
34:32 probably mainly be streaming from here
34:36 oh man all right yeah I'm really excited
34:40 about the new network connection you guys seriously it's it's sick so we're
34:44 on Wi-Fi on some like horrible ancient
34:48 DLink router right now i was like what the heck cuz all the access points are
34:53 stuck in the roof so but we were uploading videos to
34:58 YouTube and it's just like
35:02 wow like I uploaded a pretty short one it was only a 30 second clip but it's 4K
35:06 and like stuff like it's a fair amount of data it's still a fair amount of data
35:10 and I was like hey guys you got to come see this the uploads so fast and Ed and
35:14 Taran are like walking over and they get they get to me they're only like 20
35:18 paces away and I'm like "Sorry it's done
35:22 that's awesome the internet connection's too fast it's actually faster than you
35:26 oh I should put my server
35:35 here yeah I should do that what server
35:40 nothing no
35:43 absolutely not i'll just hide it no it's
35:47 a really big office no it's a really big office that like I could probably put it
35:52 in the roofs no no
36:01 oh what else what else is there to say
36:04 uh a lot of people have noticed that my wife has been helping us with the moving
36:07 blog you know what this is actually something I've been meaning to address for a little while i had said in some of
36:13 the new office updates that I've been trying to get my wife to come work for
36:16 us and I saw some people commenting about how she would only work for us
36:20 because she's the boss's wife and you know she hasn't helped with Linus Media
36:24 Group or whatever else you guys my wife co-runs this company with me just
36:28 because she's not in front of the camera and just because she also has a
36:32 full-time job and also had two babies in
36:36 the last 3 years she's like had a lot of crap on her plate she does all of our
36:41 bookkeeping she does a lot of our organizational stuff she takes care of
36:46 payroll uh she coordinated the new office i basically
36:52 it was like her being like uh what do you want and me being like I don't know
36:56 this this this and this and then everything else was done by her she is
37:01 100% a Lionus Media Group like OG Lionus
37:06 Media Group so it would there would be nothing ceremonial about her having an
37:11 office and a title someone asked if she cooks and I know that was probably a
37:16 sexist comment but I have to say very well yep
37:20 very well i really like cooking and she's really good yep so there you go
37:25 yeah there would be there would be nothing not earned about it if she got
37:30 an office here i I straight up no one in the company would object to that so
37:35 there you go isn't that she she has one
37:38 yeah it's going to sit empty until and she's not even an employee until she
37:41 decides to work here i think I think that probably gets the point the problem
37:46 is that she works at Costco so she's got
37:49 like great benefits better than ours better than ours she's got like sick RSP
37:56 this and that she's got like she's got more vacation days a year than I do she
38:01 like she's kind all that stuff so it's like I
38:07 haven't been a big enough company yet to even try to entice her but I figure come
38:12 on man office we're getting there and she's like "Is there a window?" And I'm
38:15 like "Well you helped to design the office only my office has a window
38:21 you know?" So I'm I'm working it i'm working the angles you know this guy I'm
38:25 working the angles i love how you have the least accessible office in the whole
38:28 freaking place except for maybe Nick but
38:31 then he's not even going to use it because he wants to be more accessible
38:35 oh is he not planning to use it hasn't he told you about that i haven't talked to him about it he wants to use it as a
38:39 call room so anyone can use it as a call room so all the guys will be on the
38:44 floor and then people can go in there whenever they need to do calls that makes sense and then if and that way if
38:48 the main meeting room is taken up then people can pop in there um and like only
38:52 if we're desperate if there's someone from the outside you know what that's
38:56 actually a really crazy thing we have a lot of partners like you know whether
39:00 it's Intel or Monster Cat even like we
39:04 use a lot of their music and uh you know uh uh Twitch or or whatever like we've
39:09 got so many partners um we have never
39:13 invited actually Yeah I saw that i'm going to talk about it in a minute we've
39:17 only ever I think had two two vendors
39:21 visit us at the office a X Fora was
39:25 there yeah and EK Water Blocks came yeah and uh uh Cooler Master and Cooler
39:32 Master so because like there's only a
39:35 few guys that he's not a partner but Lou uh Oh yeah
39:40 yeah lou from Unbox Therapy has been there he's But he's he's like he's a
39:44 friend um so anyway like not many partners that we actually But that
39:48 wasn't at this office yeah that was at the old garage so that we do actual
39:52 business you know monetary transactional
39:55 business with we don't invite people to our office because it was so horrible it
40:01 was honestly like we had we did interviews relatively recently yeah that
40:06 was for for potential new hires and that was like kind of embarrassing the first
40:11 thing I said when they walked in the door guys were getting a new office like in a week
40:16 what else can I say cuz it was just embarrassing whereas now that we'll have
40:21 like a meeting room and like an office
40:25 I'm actually kind of excited to have people come and meet with us i'm excited
40:29 for this room and the benching room that's where I'll be all the time
40:32 youtube said they want to come see it that's cool
40:35 that's really cool yeah we actually we like we finally have Hey they recognized
40:38 us we finally have Well no totally well I went down and I I sat on that panel at
40:44 the at the creator session um and then a couple of the people that I've talked to
40:48 there were just blown away that we have
40:52 a studio and they were like "Yeah can we come see it when it's done?" Like "Yeah
40:56 totally." Um I know Vessel is planning to come visit sick um that's really cool
41:01 yeah so so yeah they're they're particularly stoked on it because Oh the
41:05 Vessel guys have been up here too but they didn't come to the office no
41:09 exactly yeah because we didn't want them to come into the office well that
41:13 because like it's gross yeah it was horrible so yeah the thing I think what Vessel is
41:18 really interested in seeing is uh what they helped build because and I've
41:22 wanted to address this on the W show for a while we did a crowdfunding campaign
41:26 to help us with the cost of the new office we raised something in the
41:29 neighborhood of 30 to $35,000 something along that line huge help made a really
41:35 really big difference but um some of you watched or read
41:40 rather the interview that I gave with Vessel like the creator profile thing
41:45 where Vessel talked about how their funding helped us expand our building
41:51 plans for our new office in a really big way so I want to just put it in the
41:55 right sort of context here the $35,000
41:59 helped us in an immense way anyone who knows anything about new office
42:03 construction knows that that is not what
42:07 this project costs not even close so
42:10 there was a lot so some people were really upset about Vessel kind of taking
42:15 taking the the the credit for that and
42:18 no they shouldn't have taken all the credit we had it updated and and the
42:22 article was actually updated cuz I realized that was a wording error yeah
42:27 that's not fair but but the deal that we
42:30 made with Vessel has contributed a huge chunk of why we were able to build out
42:35 the upstairs right away and I mean the reason that was important is because we
42:40 didn't want construction going on up there while we're trying to film especially from filming for a fairly
42:45 considerably amount large amount of time and then like even just the dust from
42:48 that would actually be kind of a problem with like lenses and stuff can you
42:52 believe how big the old office is now that it's empty
42:57 burl Burl was blown away so Burl has
43:01 only worked with us for like what six months something like that i want to say
43:06 six months probably sure um so Burkel
43:09 has only worked with us for about six months no it's a year is it a year shut
43:13 up no no he was at his old job a year ago
43:18 but it was he was close to quitting i think it's been like eight okay well
43:22 okay okay oh my life is just passing me
43:25 by um so so think about how long like
43:28 Taran's been here for i know Taran's been here a long time um so anyway we
43:34 cleared everything out of the old office and he was like "Holy crap this place is
43:40 huge it was so full of stuff like floor
43:45 to ceiling full of stuff that you couldn't even tell how big it was and
43:49 stuff like I completely forgot." The whole chat is like "Shut up." That there
43:54 was an enormous window in the living room because we had a green screen in
43:58 front of it for for 2 years no two giant Windows oh my god i had completely
44:03 forgotten there was natural light in that building taking stuff down was
44:07 interesting cuz I remembered like when we were putting up that green screen and you and me were like "Oh whatever let's
44:12 go to Home Depot and just like buy random wire and like just screw it into
44:16 the roof." I had to take that down i was
44:19 just like "This is so janky." Do you remember what a temporary solution that
44:23 was okay okay so so our plan okay was to
44:28 get a really nice green screen like uh
44:33 uh material uh like a really great green screen and like a really great huge
44:38 stand and temporarily we were just like
44:41 "Oh let's just order this cheap one on eBay and uh yeah okay yeah let's just
44:47 get this and we'll just build it and then hopefully that'll be fine until cuz
44:50 we I think we were originally going to put a green screen in the garage
44:54 that never happened no the garage was floor to ceiling full of computer cases
45:00 always and there was audio problems with the garage there was barely any room to
45:04 park one car like you you could like
45:08 worry about knocking over a pile of cases or having cases fall onto a
45:12 vehicle like it was bad yeah so we got this the cheapest green screen we could
45:16 on eBay that would fit in the living room supposed to be a very temporary
45:19 solution we got it and we were like "Wow
45:23 this is the crappiest thing ever." So the cool thing about that green screen
45:27 was that the actual green screen fabric was really long about 10 ft high and
45:33 then it must have been about 30 feet long total really really long so you
45:37 could stand on it you could do full body stuff no wait no you couldn't because
45:42 the material was so sheer that because
45:46 there was a window behind it even though we had all the shutters closed even the
45:50 light leaking right through it yeah just went right through it terrible horrible
45:56 so we had to fold it over three times
45:59 then when we did that what happened was
46:02 the weight of the fabric was so much that the cheap crappy bar that goes
46:08 between the two cheap crappy stems bowed in the middle so you could never get the
46:12 wrinkles
47:45 did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in
47:50 it's really loose is it is that the issue it's like Look how loose that is
47:53 what the heck oh okay well we're live
47:57 again so okay i think that's why I fixed
48:01 the mic fix it is I unplugged it and plugged it back in but I don't know if
48:04 that was enough so one of the things that we've organized in the last little
48:08 bit sorry about that guys uh one of the We were just saying I don't think we've
48:11 ever had Wow we broke 10,000 live
48:15 viewers for the first time ever on Man we haven't covered a single real topic
48:21 okay maybe we should do maybe we should do a real topic to celebrate that really
48:26 no real topics there is There's some pretty good stuff this week are you sure
48:31 but we got 10K without any topics maybe that's what people want that feels wrong
48:36 oh my goodness that video that you filmed this week looks so amazing have
48:42 you seen it i have seen a very small part okay guys i'm going to reveal
48:47 something here that is amazing so wait
48:53 what is it out again hello hello oh no it's It's good
48:58 sorry I'm freaking out okay anxious so
49:02 we had a lot of requests from our viewers okay who like the kitchen set in
49:08 the old house they they're like "Yeah you know what it feels really real it
49:12 feels really homey." And so we had a lot
49:16 of requests to rebuild the kitchen set
49:19 at the new office we have done it
49:23 luke will be hosting his G29 wheel review in the kitchen set in spite of
49:29 that being the first video shot here at
49:33 the new office yep and you heard it here first folks outside of just the kitchen
49:38 being rebuilt if you guys want to see more like racing wheel and joystick
49:42 videos be sure to let us know yeah you know what that's actually uh that that's
49:46 actually a really a good thing for a straw pull here i
49:49 think racing racing wheel stuff i mean
49:53 you've been using you were using Project Cars for most of your testing right yes
49:56 project Cars is freaking great it's
49:59 super great it makes me want to play racing games again which makes me really
50:05 happy i'm glad we uh I'm glad we picked up a copy then yes me too did you have
50:10 one of your own already project Cars no okay so it's just on the benchmark
50:14 account yeah okay cool maybe I'll check it out too
50:18 i love the benchmark account it's so great always the latest games always a
50:23 business expense family and friends sharing yay should we say that what i I
50:29 don't know yeah is it family and friends i mean we're friends i Yes whose account
50:34 is it it's like mine right is it mine
50:38 does it belong to technically no it belongs to Linus Media Group it's Linus
50:42 Media Group right but Lionus Media Group is owned by me but it's in my name but
50:47 it's okay that's that gets really confusing so okay so if I'm your friend
50:53 then I can definitely use it and if you
50:57 work for Lionus Media Group and you're my friend and I own Lionus Media Group
51:01 then you can definitely use it yeah I think it works
51:06 i think it's fine it should be no problem right either way that's like
51:09 most of the games I play on Steam these days is just they come from the sharing
51:13 from that account okay so we've got 13%
51:18 of people are party poopers
51:22 oh and do not turn up and they do not
51:25 racing wheel that's super sad so that is very unfortunate so the Obto should we
51:30 try and find a place for it here cuz I put it in a side room in my house and
51:35 then I have literally not touched it and what I kind of want to do with that room
51:38 instead have I told you my plan for that side room no well may Okay i thought it
51:43 was for the Obto well that was part of the plan so I wanted to turn So I have
51:47 like this weird like I don't know what it is what would you describe it as
51:54 like like I don't know what to describe it as but it's like a little hidden den
51:58 thing that kids would love to go hide yeah and the reason kids specifically is
52:02 that at its highest point I think the ceiling is like 6 feet and then the
52:06 slope of the roof like there's a room that's like right in the front of my
52:09 house with the roof over top of it and there was only so much flat sort of
52:14 normal ceiling height room and then after that yeah there's these two weird
52:18 rooms that have the slope of the roof interfering with them and they're really
52:21 small so I was planning to just have the Obto in one of them and then I was going
52:25 to get a CRT TV and like a bunch of retro consoles and a bean bag chair and
52:30 I was just going to have like this weird little like gaming den thing but I put
52:35 the Obto in there it takes up like half
52:38 of the room um and I I think I just kind of I think
52:43 I just kind of give up so I still want
52:47 to do the retro gaming thing but then I could have room for a couple bean bag
52:50 chairs or like four bean bag chairs play some Mario Kart 64 i think that might
52:54 actually be better so if we can find room for it here maybe we'll just move
52:58 it back here and then we can just use it whenever we do our reviews of like
53:02 wheels and joysticks that's why I said I wanted to keep it actually is that would
53:05 be cool one thing that I'm super excited for is not only VR testing in terms of
53:11 graphics cards um because I think that's going to be interesting because we're
53:14 going to have to start looking at minimums a lot more and I'm I have like a whole thing planned for that anyways
53:21 um is when I was playing Project Cars and I started getting really into it
53:25 with the racing wheel and there's force feedback and everything's awesome and
53:28 I'm like if I was just wearing an Oculus this would be so cool right now um and I
53:34 want to I'm going to pitch this to you on camera when I was in No when I was in
53:40 Taiwan when we went to that really cool tech mall Yeah there was a guy there um
53:45 I thought it was I think it was like Jack's Racing jack's Racing um he was a
53:52 official like French
53:55 um race driver and if you took this course with him um you could get your
54:00 driving certificate to be able to race in like competitive racing stuff it was
54:04 crazy that tech mall had a lot of really weird stuff in it um but he had he had
54:09 this $50,000 unit i'm not saying we buy it don't worry i'm not saying we buy it
54:13 is it the one that can spin freely it can spin freely and like if you go
54:18 around a corner and crash it's like boom and the whole thing freaks out i've seen
54:22 it i contacted them already oh I wasn't
54:26 even going to say that i want us to build our own it is not worth it
54:31 oh okay i have straight up looked into
54:36 this well yeah it is horrible okay wait
54:39 no his wasn't a spin freely because it wasn't a spaceship one okay his was
54:44 planted and it would lean okay there's one there's one that is um there's one
54:50 that is I think closer to 80 or like
54:54 maybe $150,000 that can not only lean and tilt
55:00 and rock but it can actually spin freely
55:04 so you could spin out in it and then it can go as many times as you want in one
55:09 direction without losing the connection wow so it doesn't twist up wow
55:14 that is like the only people who buy
55:17 this are like for it's like a showcase
55:20 piece or like simulation they custom build every single unit it's like a
55:26 family that builds them or something like I I I actually contacted them and I
55:30 was like so you know how much is it i'm
55:34 just curious and it was some horrifying number i've even blocked it from my
55:37 memory i don't remember like it it might have been a quart million dollars like
55:41 it was horrifying like we're talking Saudi princes are ordering this thing
55:45 not Lionus Media Group and honestly without the ability to spin I don't know
55:51 if I'm that sold on it you know it was pretty good because uh
55:57 when you spin out in the one that I had it would do this really hardcore right
56:04 so it would feel like there's so much movement going on that you kind of feel
56:08 like like it's just disorienting kind of thing right that makes sense and like if
56:12 you were to do a burnout it's just going to lean you really hardcore to the one
56:16 way so it's going to feel like you're being pulled around the curve it
56:19 wouldn't work for certain things right
56:22 but it's usually fine you mean spin out
56:27 like if you Oh yes uh donut sorry I meant to say donut yeah um you know what
56:32 we should probably do our sponsor spot we have only one sponsor today
56:38 wait oh crap that's the wrong lower third dang it Luke what that wasn't my
56:44 fault at all no I don't i found you the right one yeah I I actually legitimately
56:50 did not linda.com more than 3,000 courses available uh blah blah blah
56:57 there might even be one on creating something that one has a logo that one
57:01 has a logo oh god oh god oh crap we'll
57:05 we'll be back oh crap every Friday at
57:08 every Friday 4:30 plus or minus 30 but
57:11 only plus never minus we should start early sometime every
57:16 time you're not here oh all right well whatever linda.com the place to learn
57:22 online when you're not learning from us about how to stall for literally an hour
57:29 and almost a half and almost a half woo
57:33 uh so they've got all kinds of great courses whether it's coding business um
57:38 Photoshop Adobe Premiere you know
57:42 learning new job skills or just getting better at a hobby like photography head
57:46 over to linda.com/wanshow and get a 10day trial
57:50 for free all you can eat linda.com is
57:53 great for accessing through your browser and like you know streaming the videos
57:57 hey but they also support downloading them and watching them back on your
58:01 Android or iOS device you can create playlists that you can share with your
58:05 friends so you guys can learn together i know a few people that use the offline
58:08 feature already because of stuff like uh
58:11 the the sky train they take the sky train into Vancouver to go to work and
58:15 the sky train will go through tunnels and you'll lose signal so you can't really stream video the whole time so
58:19 it'll download it and then watch on Sky to be clear the sky train is us being
58:23 Canadian and calling a monor rail a sky train for those of you who don't know
58:28 what a sky train is it's a mono rail it's not in the sky at all it's on a
58:31 rail it's on a rail and there's one rail and it's called a monor rail yeah i
58:36 don't understand uh so right that was linda.com/landshow i don't understand
58:41 why we have to call it something special like why can't we just link call
58:47 it what it is because translink this is the monor rail the Vancouver monor rail
58:53 i wish it was called i'm sweating like so hardcore through my shirt right now
58:58 but you know what's cool about it check this out is I'm actually like I'm like
59:03 sweating my my cut abs oh
59:06 wow wow wow wow that's not what's happening
59:12 no
59:16 at all i don't think this is what h is happening but that would be more likely
59:20 if you had rolls oh I don't think that's what's happening
59:25 don't make me prove I don't have rolls on the show again no no one wants to see
59:29 that he doesn't have rolls speaking of not wanting to see that what is up with
59:32 Dennis's nipple being in the moving vlog
59:35 why is it all over the moving vlog he was naked why was he naked for like a
59:40 day does he not understand our culture
59:43 it was only him and Burkel at the old office and so they like Yeah that's why
59:50 they took so long remember when they were late with the U-Haul by like an hour oh that's right burkel lasts a
59:55 little while wow they were really late
59:59 I got to get some tips from that guy
60:02 or at least one
60:05 girth Burks girth Burks i feel so bad
60:10 about the Channel Super Fun upload schedule like straight up bad you know
60:15 whose fault it is nick Light
60:19 no really no he's been really busy like I get it cuz there's been vacations and
60:23 there's been moving and there's been all this stuff that's been going on and
60:26 normally I'm helping him with a lot of the stuff that he does and I've been
60:30 completely consumed by the move like basically I I look at my email once per
60:35 day right now that's it i blitz through
60:38 like 80 to 100 emails every night throughout the move and other than that
60:42 I'm not looking at anything so I'm He'd like he'd like walk up he'd be like blah
60:48 blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah i'm like
60:51 "No not right now." So he's like "Okay I'll figure it
60:57 out on my own." So he's been getting LTT
61:00 up and then the other the other channels haven't someone just said "You should
61:04 make up for it by offering tours of the new office." We are we are straight up
61:09 August 21st i've heard people are actually flying in for this that is some
61:15 hardcore stuff right there super cool yeah i mean I will be I'll be I'll still
61:21 be amazed if anyone actually does it but I've seen a number of people saying that
61:26 they're planning to do it so I guess we better not move the day hey
61:30 yeah no we're we actually we set it This
61:33 is This is funny back on the subject of the ETA for completion of the new office
61:38 we had originally set on in our calendar
61:42 the day of the of the U tours and like
61:45 the meetup let's just call it the meetup the meetup and garage sale day is it out
61:49 again pop yep
61:55 we got to throw cable when we're done yes we do yep blop blop yep we're good
61:59 okay so uh we had originally set the day for the meetup for like a week ago yeah
62:04 we would straight up It would have straight up been a dangerous
62:08 construction site here it would have not been safe to have the
62:13 meetup so I'm really glad that we actually
62:16 ended up moving it we buffered by like a month
62:20 and it looks like by eating a lot of
62:23 that buffer yeah so it's probably going to be a week before we're like up and
62:28 running here and then I would say it's going to be like a couple months before
62:31 everything's like perfect oh yeah but it
62:34 it won't be perfect by the time you guys show up but it'll be pretty good on
62:37 August 21st we're going to have the uh we're going to have the meet up and garage sale and we hope that it's going
62:42 to be pretty awesome i think like Okay it will be very good by the time you
62:46 guys show up by perfect I mean like we'll be settled in and kind of know
62:52 back to the feel of it a lot more yeah yeah exactly everything will feel more
62:57 automatic because there's a lot of stuff that we're just going to have to straight up custom build we've been
63:01 thinking about cables a lot and I think
63:05 what we're going to do actually I wanted to run this by you so you know the wall
63:09 outside the server room yes okay the original plan for that wall was to have
63:14 tables and then um like a Velcro wall
63:18 that we could stick chargers to for and
63:21 and so the table and the wall would just be all chargers and you could have like
63:26 camera stuff chargers and like drone chargers and battery chargers and
63:30 whatever so Burkel wants to take up
63:33 about half of the wall with like these massive steel rods that stick out of the
63:38 wall and then you just hang cables on them by type
63:42 do you think that seems like we should do it or should we just have bins of
63:46 cables cuz that helps them take up almost no space once and and they're
63:51 really easy to access as well especially for heavy stuff like extension cables
63:56 extension cords are they technically a cable i can't remember
64:00 they're definitely cords yeah but they might not be But they might be cables i
64:05 think they're cables anyway I always have to re-reference that video i know
64:08 it's just there's so many crossover surprisingly few people have watched the
64:12 uh cables probably like a quarter meat cables versus wires I think is is what
64:17 it's called yeah that only has 167,000 views that's pretty low for a techie i
64:22 bet you that's a fair amount i'm just probably make up like at least a
64:25 hundred of those views so what do you think of that idea i don't mind it uh
64:29 maybe not for everything maybe we don't need a micro USB no but like but like
64:35 Ethernet Ethernet uh extension cords and
64:38 then you can do it by length HDMI you can do it by length so like Ethernet
64:42 over 10 m Ethernet under 10 m and then the 10 m cables we can just like scatter
64:48 around everywhere because they they fit in nowhere things that'll be giant and
64:53 take up like a whole freaking drawer anyways yeah i think make sense to go up
64:56 on the thing and there's like a lot of stuff that we meant to have done before
65:00 we moved in and straight up never got to like the shelves for the benchmarking
65:04 room never got done so we're just going to have to hammer away at that get
65:09 everything sorted out did we just not order those or Well the plan was we were
65:14 going to get them from that person on Craigslist and then they bailed and then
65:18 we found The plan as far as I knew for so long was that we were just having
65:22 contractors build them yeah um that's expensive and then I think the
65:27 contractor told us that it's actually more economical to Frankenstein together
65:32 IKEA stuff and so we're maybe doing that
65:36 but then there's something that I don't
65:39 know also we never did find a plan for
65:42 uh we wanted to build this is actually surprisingly rare there's one Rubbermaid
65:48 product and that was all I could find for like a bin that's designed to be
65:54 like kind of a drawer but then you can also remove it and it's just a bin so we
65:59 want that for our workbench tables and I found a great DIY project on YouTube but
66:04 that was like it there's like one guy who DIYed it and there's no bins that
66:09 are specifically built with really rigid sides so that they don't fold and then
66:15 and then fall out in that kind of a configuration that seems like the most
66:18 obvious thing ever to me yeah yeah like a like a rail system bin kind of thing
66:24 um it's possible we could find like a pre-done thing and then just
66:28 Frankenstein that just pull the actual drawers out the problem with rail bin
66:32 things is that a lot of times you need a you need something for the bin to sit on
66:36 because too much weight on the on the far sides the bin is just going to fold
66:40 in and fall y so I don't even think it would be that hard
66:44 to make so there's a lot of things still left to figure out you know we want to
66:48 build like a lighting grid like so that's like a like a like a metal
66:53 structure that sits over the sets that we can actually like clamp lights to
66:57 instead of having just floor standing lights all the time yeah um cuz my goal
67:01 is to keep the warehouse clean um I want to do something about concrete
67:06 dust at some point so maybe we have to
67:09 like move everything to one side seal the floor move everything to the other
67:14 side seal the rest of the floor like we are so far away from it being perfect
67:18 perfect but we've made a lot of progress we're really excited should we do one
67:23 tech topic just for old time sake
67:27 sure okay why don't we why don't we rapid fire through a few of these okay
67:31 so a lot of these don't need a ton of explanation so no they super don't so
67:35 here's the RS Technica article for this one right do you want to post them to
67:40 Twitch chat sure model S is going to have autonomous steering and parking
67:43 it's a level two autonomous vehicle there's levels zero through four four is
67:48 fully autonomous zero is not autonomous at all autonomous parking has been done
67:52 before and actually a very long time ago
67:55 like 10 years ago um but only in well that one was only available in one area
68:00 so like Toyota did it in Japan and like
68:04 um the one series that uh that I demoed a little while ago that had it stuff
68:08 like that it's not autonomous parking isn't very new i think the bigger news
68:13 here is simply the fact that the is simply the contrast between
68:20 Tesla's approach to updating their cars
68:23 and the traditional automakers approach to updating their cars traditional
68:27 automakers you have to make a huge splash in the news about their their car
68:33 being literally hacked whereas Tesla is
68:37 like let's add functionality to our car
68:40 throughout its life cycle and add additional value that wasn't on the
68:44 original spec sheet to the customer when is the last I would love for you guys to
68:48 correct me if I'm wrong but has any car
68:52 maker ever updated the firmware to add
68:56 new functionality to their car like think about all these cars with built-in
69:00 dashes and like and not something that was announced and didn't come with it
69:03 yeah yeah like something that straight up you had no idea that that was coming
69:08 um you know like like you think about the the onboard computers in these cars
69:11 like you even have to pay for your map updates after the a map update from my
69:16 car is like $500 yeah like it's absurd
69:20 what it's absolutely absurd apparently
69:24 Volvo did apparently Hyundai did with the Sonata for Android
69:28 Auto okay oh but it's Android Auto
69:33 i don't know so I think Android Auto had an
69:37 update but but much like the phone like
69:41 Android updates for phones it probably had to be implemented and and vetted by
69:45 Hyundai right okay well there you go the
69:48 Mercedes apparently comes with wheels included thank you for that this is why
69:51 I don't talk to you guys Twitch chat i talk to Twitch chat yeah actually I love
69:55 you guys Twitch chat you you're you make It's all about proactive mental
70:00 filtering you just got to sort through the whole Twitch chat as it goes so this
70:04 is hilarious you know how Kim Kardashian figured she could break the internet
70:10 um with like a nude pick or whatever Windows 10 straight up almost broke the
70:16 internet um the roll out of Windows 10
70:19 how much did Microsoft uh set aside for
70:22 themselves um Microsoft Windows 10
70:30 um internet congestion i actually this
70:34 isn't this isn't in the doc um so blah
70:37 blah blah Windows 10 roll out will break
70:40 internet traffic records so they set
70:44 aside some terabit blah blah blah speed
70:48 and apparently they they are just absolutely smashing it okay based on
70:53 conver according to Rayburn and this is based on conversations he had with
70:58 sources so take all this with a grain of salt microsoft has reserved up to 40
71:03 terabit per second capacity from
71:06 multiple content delivery networks or CDNs
71:13 by comparison Apple's release of iOS 8
71:16 last year crested at about 3 terabit per second and other major web events
71:22 including some of Apple's most widely watched live streamed presentations
71:25 peaked at 8 terab per second now bear in
71:30 mind you guys that Windows 10 is a massive file compared to an iOS update
71:36 so the sustained transfer is going to be last longer and then total to a higher
71:40 amount and This ties in really nicely to
71:44 Luke's big told you so news topic which is huge the pirates are successfully
71:50 upgrading to Windows 10 for free if you
71:53 cracked Windows 7 very well it works
71:56 with Windows 8 too but it was much easier with Windows 7 if you cracked it
71:59 very well and convinced Windows that you had a real version and then got the
72:04 upgrade your key was then recycled and
72:08 turned into a new Windows 10 key which was validated so you just are winning
72:13 there's some people that are being detected and when they upgrade it's like
72:17 "Oh you need a Windows 10 key haha you're screwed." Um but that's a very
72:22 low percentage so the pirates are are
72:26 pretty big fans of Windows 10 right now i have to
72:30 imagine I have to imagine that Microsoft
72:34 could have blocked this if they wanted to probably i have to imagine that is
72:40 this is this just Oh was Windows Loader ever on your computer at any point in
72:45 time oh invalidated is this just uh is
72:50 this just a a a straight market share
72:53 play and just eat it i think so like are they just taking Apple head on with the
72:59 whole free OS updates thing yep that's super what I think it is because
73:03 honestly right now not to give anyone
73:06 ideas but right now you could go get a plain Windows 7 ISO from anywhere get
73:11 the thing that does the thing do the thing and then upgrade to Windows 10 and
73:17 you're good i think you can still get
73:21 close on this we're not piracy experts no that's not not what I'm talking about
73:24 but you you can still get Windows 10 reserves right i think so yeah yeah so
73:28 if you can theoretically nothing has changed and you'd be able to do it and
73:32 they're not actively trying to stop it so like I think they're just fighting
73:35 for market share speaking of actively trying to stop things you want to you
73:39 want to post this puppy sure this is some terrible terrible news for our pals
73:45 over at NVIDIA uh this was the first email I read this morning and I was like
73:50 I sent a reply right away i'm like so um does my press sample actually also get
73:55 covered by this and they're like "Yes you also get a new Shield tablet because
74:01 this is a fire hazard." And I think the last thing NVIDIA wants is a news story
74:06 about like burned popular technology
74:10 journalist you know whoever burned in his sleep or her sleep
74:15 from beloved tablet NVIDIA recalled all
74:19 Shield tablets due to a battery fire
74:23 hazard uhoh
74:28 whoever makes that batteries in a world of hurt so the battery can overheat
74:32 NVIDIA is asking consu asking consumers to stop using the recalled tablet except
74:38 as needed to participate in the recall and to back up their data at launch
74:43 NVIDIA made a big deal about the extra thermal dissipation in the design there
74:47 is a dedicated website for uh they
74:51 probably are making the big deal about the extra thermal dissipation of the
74:55 like CPU stuff not the battery i wonder if
75:00 the summer has anything to do with the timing of this very probably that's
75:04 going to get interesting because every summer we have is like oh records broken
75:08 everywhere again yep so so it's
75:15 NVIDIA.com/supportreall that's where you guys are gonna want to go if you have a
75:18 broken NVIDIA Shield tablet youtube and
75:21 Google+ are divorcing they're done that is such a
75:25 sensationalist headline for this it Are you covering this cuz I could put the
75:29 article in front of my face for a change
75:32 look at that baby i don't have a ton to say don't delete your Google+ account
75:36 right now because they haven't done it yet so if you delete your Google+
75:40 account your YouTube account is gone so don't do that yet psa basically
75:46 everything has bailed off of Google+
75:49 photos has split others are coming youtube is split nobody's a fan of
75:53 Google+ anymore um YouTube comments stuff well none of the Google services
75:59 are Was anyone ever Google services were ah yes um your YouTube comments aren't
76:04 going to show up in your Google+ profile anymore which is awesome because that was super super dumb um and Google+ will
76:11 stay here just it will be more focused more useful more engaging and no more
76:16 people will use it yep i'm so done with
76:19 Google+ now yep i would seriously start Periscoping or Snapchatting or both
76:24 before I would focus any more of my attention on Google+ i mean I feel bad
76:28 for the people who like really invested their time in Google+ because that Yeah
76:33 that did not work nope at all yep
76:37 um do you want to cover the tour thing i
76:41 didn't see that until I saw it right now all right let's talk about it next week
76:44 because honestly until literally 5:30 today I
76:50 was getting our storage servers up and running so everyone 4:30 thank you see I
76:53 don't even know what time it is until 4:30 today I was getting our storage
76:57 servers up and running and uh I got this
77:00 one yeah you got this one okay and so I I literally walked in and I was like
77:05 "Okay how how set up is the WAN Show?" And it like still needed a microphone
77:09 and like I told I told everyone I was like "Yeah we'll run it off my laptop
77:12 today no big deal." And like I was using my laptop to configure the servers so it
77:18 was not here i love this laptop it is working so hard right now it's just so
77:23 loud but it is like doing okay like it is loud listen to this guys but like
77:27 this it will do this when there's nothing going on sometimes you know what
77:32 i figured out what it is no it's a Windows service that sometimes takes
77:36 like 15% CPU utilization and it like so it'll tweak out and so the Blade has a
77:42 really aggressive fan profile that seems to be based on load rather than
77:48 thermals and I understand I can react faster that way i understand why that is
77:54 but that doesn't mean I have to like it
77:58 so it would be nice yeah and it keeps the CPU turboing really aggressively
78:01 which is great for gaming but doesn't always make me super stoked about I got
78:07 it thermal throttle though starcraft 2 on ultra max res so running at 3200 by
78:13 1800 had it working pretty hard so what I had
78:17 to do was I I threw in an FPS cap and then I was good cool
78:22 obama has ordered the world's fastest supercomput
78:26 2025 so like it's going to be a while it would be capable of making one
78:30 quintilion so a billion billion calculations per second also known as
78:34 one exoflop to perform complex calculations
78:38 aid scientific research blah blah blah blah blah basically weather data and
78:43 cancer diagnosis although a lot of people think it's for password cracking
78:50 well um I guess I guess you know what
78:53 it's as much as it's become just an internet punchline it's going to be as
78:58 for whoever's president in 2025 it'll be as simple as blaming Obama yep and with
79:04 that we bid you add you thank you all 10
79:09 freaking,000 of you that's that's considerable amount over 9,000 yes all
79:15 10,000 of you for tuning in to the WAN Show this is a record stream and not
79:21 only that but a sustained record stream you guys are freaking awesome stay tuned
79:26 for the WAN Show next week i don't know if we'll be on the actual set i doubt it
79:31 we might be in the library again we might be who knows uh but we'll see you
