0:06 For the ultimate no compromises compact gaming PC, look no further than the
0:11 Obsidian Series 250D from Corsair. Click now to learn more. Well, it's time for
0:16 Linus Tech Tips update 2014. 2013 was
0:19 our first year as an independent company and we wanted to survive and we did.
0:23 Yes. Yes, we did. This year we want to grow and do more. We don't want him to
0:27 grow. He's already large enough. So, order of business number order of
0:31 business number one. That wasn't in the script. You could see that though. Yes,
0:35 we're hiring. We are looking for a very wide variety of different skill sets
0:39 from scripting to editing to on camera talent to camera operation. So, make
0:45 sure that you have a look. We'll need some piece work contract stuff done for
0:48 sure. Uh, but depending on how multi-talented you are, there could be a
0:52 part-time employee position or even a full-time position available. So, um,
0:58 guys, do check it out. Unfortunately, we're not really looking for folks
1:01 outside the Vancouver, Canada region, but do have a look at the list anyway
1:06 and see if there's anyone you know who would be a good fit. I'm aware of what you're doing. As far as compensation is
1:11 concerned, these are paid positions, but I want to set realistic expectations.
1:15 We're a very small company, and starting wages won't really be anything special.
1:19 You'll find the full details, as well as a checklist of the things we need help
1:22 with, in the link that is below in the video description.
1:26 Item number two is for everyone, not just Canadians who live in Vancouver. We
1:31 are doing a massive worldwide giveaway,
1:34 folks. The crate computer that we reviewed a little while ago. Yeah, the
1:37 one with the Core i5 4670K GTX 780, 27in
1:42 LCD monitor, 500 gig Corsair SSD, and 16
1:46 gigs of RAM. We are giving it away. All
1:49 you have to do is subscribe to my Tequiki channel and leave a comment on
1:53 the Techquicki video that is linked below. Techquiki is not going to teach
1:58 you everything there is to know about technology, but I hope that you'll find
2:02 the content fun and sharable nonetheless. But wait, there's more. I
2:07 want everyone to know about this giveaway. If you can get another social
2:12 media influencer, uh, let's say anyone with I pretended I was thinking about
2:16 it, but it's in the script. Let's say anyone with 10,000 followers on YouTube,
2:21 Facebook or Twitter to share this video with their followers and give you credit
2:26 for bringing it to their attention. I will enter each of you, the person who
2:31 refers the influencer and the influencer
2:34 into two separate draws each with their own prizes. So, for the one who the
2:39 influencer credits, there will be a chance to win an ASUS GTX Titan graphics
2:44 card. And for the eligible influencer who shares this video, there will they
2:48 will be entered into a draw to win a Sony twoin-one
2:52 Ultrabook. Yes, I am giving away a full
2:56 all-in-one gaming system, an Ultrabook, and a GTX Titan. Get the full details
3:02 before you do anything. They're in the link in the video description because
3:05 there are a few things you'll need to do to validate your entry so that I can do
3:09 the draw correctly and make sure it's fair for everyone. Both giveaways end
3:13 February 28th. The last thing, item number three, in our 2014 update is
3:17 really important. For us to achieve the aggressive goals we've set out for
3:20 ourselves this year, which is more content with better quality across more
3:25 channels, we will need people, space, equipment, and all kinds of expensive
3:29 stuff like that. And for that, we will need your help. We've had a lot of
3:32 people ask us over the years if we take donations or contributions. Many many
3:36 content creators do. And with a couple of exceptions, we've always said no. But
3:41 now there is. We've worked out an easy automated system through Linus
3:45 techtips.com that cuts out the middlemen who are keeping a chunk of your
3:49 contribution for themselves and it pretty much all goes to us except a
3:52 little bit, excuse me, a little bit to PayPal. Sorry, I choked on that PayPal.
3:56 Um, so visit the contribution link in the video description if you like what
3:59 we do and you want us to keep doing it. Honestly, the benefits for the different
4:04 tiers aren't really that different. And because we're never going to charge for
4:08 access to any of our content, there's really no pressure and the amount that
4:12 you contribute is completely up to you. Or if you do it at all, it's completely
4:16 up to you. Just know that every dollar helps us do what we're doing and do it
4:19 better. And you have our thanks. And if you do want to contribute, but you don't
4:23 want to bother creating a forum account, don't worry. We have you covered as
4:27 well. The forum now supports signing in with Twitter, Facebook, and Steam. So,
4:32 you can just quickly, easily create,
4:35 well, just sign in. That's pretty much all there is to it. And I think there
4:40 must be one other thing because otherwise I don't know why you're even here other than to mock me. So, I'm I'm
4:44 leaving and I'll let you cover update item number four. So update item number
4:48 four, which in my opinion doesn't necessarily matter more or less than the
4:52 other ones, but apparently he doesn't care as much, is the Linus Tech Tips
4:55 conglomerate, which is currently the eighth largest faction organization
5:00 thing in all of Star Citizen. We just passed Red Faction, aka Reddit faction,
5:04 which is actually really cool, although we do love those guys. And once we get
5:08 100 more members, we'll be third in the world in terms of size, which is
5:11 actually pretty epic. Our activity levels are pretty insane as well as
5:16 we're ranked number one or two. We kind of bounce back and forth for activity
5:19 which is really interesting. The chat is super active and on the forum we post a
5:24 ton. I think we're at like 27 pages right now. So whether or not you're in
5:27 the organization, if you just want to talk about Star Citizen, come visit us
5:30 on the forum. We can talk there. We have a ton of fun things planned for the alpha and beta stages of Star Citizen as
5:35 well. So if you are planning on playing Star Citizen and just want people to fly
5:38 with, it'll be a lot of fun. Join up. Uh, casuals and hardcores are both
5:42 equally welcome as well as just everybody else. We'll have something to
5:46 do for everybody. I'm sure the hardcores will stick in their kind of little groups and will play within themselves
5:51 and get a lot done. And I'm sure the casuals will just have a great time. So,
5:54 join up today. They will constantly play
5:57 with themselves. Um, join up today. Help us reach top rank three. That will be
6:02 awesome. Uh, as always, subscribe and thank you guys for all your continued
6:06 support throughout 2014. Thanks, guys. I'm back. I was never gone. I know.
