HyperX. Seems like every time we run into Gigabyte, they're showing off some
0:13
new thinnest, lightest gaming notebook
0:16
ever thing. And this time they're calling it the X5. So, this is a 15.6 in
0:21
laptop that's got up to three SSD
0:25
support. It's got a 2 and 1/2 in hard drive bay. It supports up to four so
0:30
dim. So that's up to 32 gigs of DDR3 memory. It's got an Intel Core i7
0:34
processor. It's got a 3K or optionally a
0:37
4K display. That's using an Exo panel. So we're not talking TN nonsense here.
0:42
And most impressively, it's got two GeForce GTX
0:46
965M graphics cards. This is one absolutely serious machine. It's got
0:51
their same macro keys on the left of the keyboard. It's got a chicklet keyboard.
0:54
It's got an aluminum construction that both helps dissipate heat and keeps it
0:59
extremely lightweight and strong. And if you've got the pretty pennies to put
1:02
together for it, might just be one of the most powerful compact gaming
1:07
machines on the planet. And by one of, I mean it might actually be pretty much it
1:13
at this point. In terms of IO, you've got three USB 3 ports, DisplayPort out,
1:16
HDMI out, audio ports, you've got a micro SD slot, and is that two HDMI?
1:21
Looks Look at that. It has dual HDMI. Pretty cool. Did I mention by the way
1:25
that those SSD slots are M.2? So, not
1:28
your typical M SATA. Now, speaking of having DisplayPort out, the X7 Pro is
1:34
not actually new, the one that's sitting right here. But what is new is that via
1:38
DisplayPort out or mini DisplayPort. This one is running an NVIDIA G-Sync
1:42
panel. That's not something that's officially supported G-Sync on mobile
1:46
GPUs. Now, I can't get any kind of confirmation from anyone in terms of
1:49
when we're or if we're going to see this feature actually implemented, but it's
1:53
definitely cool to see it running on hardware that is already out there. So,
1:57
that's 970M SLI in the X7 Pro. So, you
2:01
step down to a 15.6 in, then you get 965M SLI. That's those are 4 gig cards.
2:07
Not exactly a uh, you know, a loser option, that's for sure. But the premium
2:12
Aoris brand isn't the only one that's getting a little bit of attention from
2:15
Gigabyte. And this one, out of everything they're launching under the Gigabyte brand, is the one that
2:19
interests me most. I love powerful gaming notebooks. I love affordable
2:24
gaming notebooks and I love small gaming notebooks. And this looks like it's
2:28
going to be a pretty healthy mix of all of them. I don't have exact pricing and
2:32
I don't actually have exact specs. I just know, you know, it's got a Core i7
2:36
quadcore processor. It's dual channel DDR3 memory. It supports one M SATA SSD
2:42
up to 512 gigs. Realistically, if you could find a 1 TB one, I think Samsung
2:45
has one, you could put a bigger one in it. And it also supports up to a two TB
2:50
hard drive. So, it's got room for an SSD and a hard drive in this tiny form
2:53
factor. And the most impressive thing about it, other than how slim it is, is
2:57
that it has a GeForce GTX 970M inside
3:00
powering the 1080p nonTN panel up here.
3:04
So, if you're looking for I don't know like who exactly this is targeted at cuz
3:09
going along with the two USB 3 ports, HDMI, SD card reader and power in on
3:13
this side they've got another two USB3 ports, an audio jack, Ethernet which is
3:18
nice and VGA so it almost kind of looks like a business model but then it's got
3:21
a 970M in it. So, if you're like the traveling, you know, business person who
3:25
also likes to game on the road, then this looks like it might make a fair bit
3:29
of sense. Speaking of gaming on the road, um mobile games and your your
3:35
phone, which you should probably have a phantom glass screen protector on if you
3:38
want to have a Gorilla Glass screen protector that keeps your screen safe and also completely clear and
3:43
scratchresistant and easy to apply with no bubbles and available for a wide
3:47
variety of different phones and can even be taken off and put back on. Just visit
3:51
store.fantom.glass. We've got that linked in the video description to learn more about this awesome screen protector
3:56
that we are using here at the show. And actually, I've been using for quite some
4:00
time. I shouldn't pretend it's new because I'm at CES or anything like
4:03
that, but what is new because I'm at CES is us telling you about HyperX's YouTube
4:07
channel. So, it's YouTube.com/hyperX. They're also linked
4:10
in the video description. They got a lot of great gaming content there. And a
4:13
huge thank you to both Phantom Glass and HyperX for allowing us to be here at CES
4:18
2015. Don't miss any of our CES content, guys. Make sure you're subscribed and
4:21
I'll see you in the next sweeter booth or wherever else it is we're
