0:00 So many viewers have demanded to see the performance numbers from the ridiculous
0:05 4-way SLI 6 core machine that was built
0:08 in recent NCX tech tips episode. So just
0:11 updating you on my progress here. I'm actually just installing the GeForce
0:16 driver which you can see adds four-way SLI support for the
0:22 GTX 480. Now four-way SLI is intended for world record performance and
0:26 requires non-standard power and cooling. It is not recommended for general
0:30 consumer configurations. So cooling may be a bit of a an issue, but the half the
0:36 high air flow, maybe it'll be able to handle it. We'll find out. And as far as
0:40 power is concerned, that's a 1500 W power supply. If this can't handle it,
0:44 then uh I don't know what can. But one
0:48 thing, if you come over here, I'll actually be able to show you. Now,
0:52 before I actually load this machine up, I'm going to have to move it somewhere
0:56 where I'm not relying on an extension cord. But, uh, at idle, without even
1:01 drivers installed for the video cards yet, we're at 300 watts. That's idle on
1:06 an 80 plus silver power supply. So, um,
1:10 I expect this is going to draw a mean amount of power under load.
