0:00 this video from ces 2018 is brought to you by synergy synergy 2 makes sharing a
0:04 single mouse and keyboard between multiple machines easier than ever check
0:07 it out at the link below okay guys
0:12 now this this is some crazy stuff i never thought
0:16 i would live to see the day Intel
0:19 and AMD technology in one box
0:24 one box made by Intel this is the hades
0:27 canyon nook it is their most powerful nook ever by a very significant margin
0:32 and it is running an 8th gen Intel core i7 processor
0:37 and Radeon rx vega mobile graphics
0:43 now they're going to have two different models that are going to be available in
0:46 bare bones units just like previous nooks so what you get is you get the CPU
0:51 the motherboard the case the power supply and
0:55 oh right graphics so you got to add your own RAM and your own operating system
0:59 but this thing is loaded for bear on the front you got
1:03 your power switch yeah sure whatever reset or whatever that is sd reader two
1:08 usb 3 ports HDMI out for vr yes my
1:12 friends vr capable what you've got another usb this one's a type c and
1:16 you've got a front audio jack then moving it around to the back i got one
1:20 that's not plugged in what this thing has six display outputs
1:25 two HDMI 2.0 two mini DisplayPort
1:29 two thunderbolts at the back there's your power in oh also another audio jack
1:34 thank you rear audio on small form factor really appreciate that that also
1:38 does optical out four more usb threes two lan ports
1:43 because you know whatever we're just gonna cover the whole thing in in io
1:46 anyway and oh check this out that right
1:50 there is validated for a hundred watts of
1:54 cooling because inside this thing on the high end model there's a 100 watt model
1:58 and there's a 65 watt model you're going to find a quad core hyper threaded
2:02 processor the top end one is actually overclockable and they've had it running
2:06 up to five gigahertz in the lab and it is cooled by this freaking thing so the
2:11 entire back half of the entire back is dedicated to heatsink with this sexy
2:17 vapor chamber that covers one of the most unique processors that we have ever
2:22 seen so right here on this side there's your quad-core Intel CPU
2:27 right here on this side there's your vega based yes my friends AMD's custom
2:32 silicone solution department the same guys that have worked with the game
2:35 console makers are actually providing a GPU to Intel and this is an hbm2 memory
2:41 module so all three of these are sitting on this really special layer that i
2:47 can't actually even show you guys because it's so small but it's called an emib and it allows high-speed
2:51 communication between all three of these components so effectively this is a full
2:56 pci express 8x gen 3 link between the
3:00 CPU and the GPU unbelievable and the whole thing is so
3:04 thin that you're not just going to see this in nooks you're also going to see this
3:08 integrated in laptops and Intel is expecting performance in the
3:12 neighborhood of better than a 1060 max q
3:17 out of this tightly integrated solution they're also estimating that compared to
3:21 Intel integrated graphics which we saw in the skull canyon nook last year that
3:25 we can see up to a 50 improvement in performance now it is a little bigger
3:31 and it is a little thicker it's 1.2 liters compared to 0.7 liters for last
3:35 generation but if you're looking for a tiny powerhouse of a machine i don't
3:39 think you're going to find anything close to this on the market
3:43 not that this is actually on the market yet so let's get to that it's going to
3:47 be coming sometime later in this year pricing is going to be 7.99 for the 65
3:51 watt non-overclockable version and approximately this is all estimates 9.99
3:56 for the overclockable one which CPU and GPU will be overclockable and you're
4:01 gonna have to add your own RAM your own operating system and your own storage
4:06 which is interesting because they got two m.2 slots in there so you could put
4:10 like a regular SSD or maybe optane that
4:14 would be a cool idea i wonder if Intel thought of putting optane in there for
4:18 super high speed storage speaking of thinking of things have you
4:21 guys given any thought to synergy 2 since the beginning of this video
4:25 well you should it's the new generation of software from seamless that lets you
4:29 share a keyboard and mouse between multiple computers be they Windows mac
4:32 os and Linux it's pretty freaking cool and it's easier to configure than ever
4:37 including now the ability to work around complicated networking configurations
4:42 and automatically find the best path so go check it out at the link in the video
4:46 description that's seamless dot com slash synergy slash ces one and you can
4:51 get 50 percent off so thanks for watching this video guys
4:55 you can dislike you can like it's up to you you can also get
4:59 subscribed and make sure you don't miss any of the rest of our content from ces
5:04 2018 although i can't promise there's gonna be anything else more mind-blowing
5:08 than this
5:12 can you see that it's crazy
