0:00 Welcome to Linus Tech Tips at CES 2013. Our trip to the show this year is
0:04 powered by Corsair, maker of quality PC components and peripherals. Our trusted
0:09 storage partner is Seagate Technology and our trusted networking partner is
0:16 Lynxys. Welcome to the LG booth where they have behind me a basically
0:21 production model OLED 55 in TV. They're
0:25 already taking pre-orders for this in Korea and it's expected to be available
0:29 in North America sometime around March. It's not going to be cheap, okay? So,
0:33 it's going to be about $12,000. So, you know, yeah, bling bling
0:38 and all that, but you do get all the benefits that come along with OLED. That
0:42 is the deeper blacks, brighter whites, so better contrast ratio, the fact that
0:46 the response times are significantly reduced, and of course, the more vibrant
0:50 colors. One of the other advantages of OLED is that there are fewer layers that
0:54 need to be stacked together, which means they can actually take the TVs and make
0:58 them thinner. The TV behind me has an extremely slim bezel and weighs only 20
1:03 lb. And I am now going to show you guys something that was kind of hidden from
1:06 you before. I'd like the whole crew to shift a little bit to stage left. There
1:11 is an actual TV that was right behind me the whole time, and I'm willing to bet a
1:15 hundred bucks right now that you didn't even see it there.
1:19 Thanks for watching Linus Tech Tips at CES 2013 powered by Corsair, Seagate
1:24 Technology, and Lynxys.
