0:07 description. Um, what is it? It's like it's like I
0:13 got this guy watching me while I try and make my video here. It's weirding me
0:17 out, but that's okay because nothing can ruin my mood right now. Okay, monitors
0:22 used to be 60 Hz and then we got overclocking to like 75 85. Then we got
0:27 120 Hz. Night and day difference. Then a couple incremental improvements. 144
0:32 165. Now it's gamechanging again. And by
0:36 game I mean gaming. A yes. This is the ROG Swift
0:43 PG28Q. The first 240 Hz 24 1/2 in gaming
0:49 monitor that I have had the pleasure of laying my eyes on. And holy cow, just
0:56 sitting down and knocking things over and moving the mouse, it is immediately
1:01 noticeable. And it's not like necessarily some other high refreshment
1:06 monitors out there because even without ultra low motion blur enabled, this
1:12 thing is actually doing pretty darn well
1:15 in terms of not leaving motion trails behind the cursor. Now, obviously, I
1:19 don't have it in the lab yet, but I've been informed we will be getting one
1:23 very soon, but my initial impression is this is freaking impressive. So, it
1:27 features NVIDIA G-Sync technology. You've got DisplayPort in or HDMI in,
1:33 whichever you prefer, and it's got a built-in USB 3 hub. In terms of the
1:37 styling, it's what has become kind of the ROG way. So, you've got a nice slim
1:43 bezel, a couple kind of gamery accents,
1:46 but the most sort of, let's say, u
1:49 goddy, how you say, of which the underglow ROG logo thing, you can turn
1:54 that off in the menu. Now, those of you who are wondering, it does support
1:58 G-Sync, but the unanimous opinion from the ASUS guys in the room is that the
2:03 real story here is not necessarily G-Sync, but rather the fact that now if
2:09 you turn G-Sync off, you can run ultra low motion blur all the way up to the
2:14 full 240 hertz, which is going to give
2:17 you like super sharp, fastmoving images
2:20 at an extremely high refresh rate, which is going to be critical for competitive
2:24 gamers or filthy casuals like me who
2:27 just like having the best possible experience even though they suck. It's
2:31 got the full range of adjustments. And as we're making all these adjustments to
2:35 the stand, you'll probably notice, yes, this is in fact a TN panel. But I got to
2:40 tell you guys, outside of looking at it from the bottom, where really it does
2:43 look awful. Uh side to side viewing angles very good. And colors again, just
2:48 subjectively, I'm just out of show. Looking pretty good here. I am super
2:53 excited about this one. Uh that is to say, uh as long as I can afford the
2:58 approximately $500 price
3:02 tag. I never said the resolution. Okay, hold on. Let me think
3:06 for a second. Did I miss anything else critical? You know what? Let's just
3:10 let's just do a totally awkward shot here. Um it's a 1080p monitor. I forgot
3:16 to mention the resolution. Anyway, thanks for checking
3:20 out our video you guys. Don't forget to get subscribed to Linus Tech Tips so you
3:24 don't miss any of our CES coverage. And a huge shout out to Squarespace. I
3:28 believe there are talking points in my pocket, but come on, realistically, do I
3:32 not know how to pitch you guys Squarespace. Squarespace is the place to go if you want to build a beautiful
