So, people got really freaking excited about the red iPhone. Like, holy crap,
0:04
look at all these super successful videos. So, as usual, we ran out and
0:09
bought one immediately to see what all the fuss was about. We ripped open the
0:13
package, and what the crap is this? It's the exact same phone. Even the front and
0:20
the accessories are still white. Why are 3 million people watching these videos
0:25
about this same freaking phone?
0:28
What are we going to do with this phone? Now, if a video about the new red iPhone
0:32
model is worth 3 million views, then if
0:35
I can make a video about the world's only blue iPhone, I should be able to
0:40
get 10 million views. Now, all I need is
0:43
the blue
0:53
iPhone. So, there is a right way to change the color of an iPhone. I looked
0:58
it up. You have to gather all the tools that you need for the job. Meticulously
1:02
take the phone apart. Be very careful when you're painting it. And then, oh my
1:08
god, you have to put it back together somehow. Oh my god, I do not have time
1:13
for that. Luckily, this is Linus Tech Tips and no one expected me to do it
1:17
properly anyways.
1:21
So, here's my haul of super proass
1:24
modding equipment that I will use to generate that sweet, sweet AdSense
1:28
money. Ignoring the cost of the $1,000 for the phone, this was only about 10
1:33
bucks. Man, I love my job. Okay, let's
1:37
start with Play-Doh. I think that's going to be the best one. This actually
1:41
looks pretty freaking good. It's kind of coming along. I would be down with a
1:47
case that looked like that. Next up, blue duct
1:50
tape. Just do some fine tuning to the tape with an Xacto
1:56
knife. Okay, one little strand left. So,
2:00
neither of those methods actually really worked that well. So, we're going to go with something a little bit less
2:04
conventional. Why not wax? We're going to melt some of these blue candles and
2:08
see if we can make that work.
2:23
Okay, so maybe no more fire onto the cardboard, but the parts where the wax
2:28
actually stayed is not that bad. Okay, so the concept here is that these toilet
2:31
bowl cleaners will turn the water in the bowl blue. So maybe they can turn the
2:35
phone blue caution toxic
2:39
irritant. What the? I'm not doing that.
2:42
So, for our next experiment, I thought maybe we'd try some like, you know,
2:46
photon transfer stuff. Is that going to work? Does that look blue to you guys?
2:51
Except when you do that, it's still red. So, okay. Maybe we need to try one more
2:55
thing. For our final experiment, we will be using plasti dip blaze blue. All
3:01
right. So, we have left the iPhone to dry. The plasti dip has settled. You can
3:06
see on the outsides that it doesn't look quite as good as in the middle where
3:09
it's actually like that deep royal blue. Um the coverage is quite solid except
3:14
for if you go to the from the edges and you back at square one. So none of that
3:19
worked. I've got one option left. I can hold my breath as hard as I possibly can
3:25
and hopefully when I turn blue, so does the phone.
3:45
Wait a minute. I've been putting way too much work into this. If I want views on
3:50
my blue phone video and I want that sweet, sweet sponsorship money, why
3:54
didn't I just use Dbrand in the first place? They have free worldwide shipping
3:59
if you spend over $20. And you can just go to their shop button and configure
4:04
whatever device you want. I'm going to use iPhone right here. Oh, thank you
4:08
very much. I'm going to pick iPhone 7. And then just select the blue true color
4:14
option. Oh my goodness, it's even less than $10, which is technically cheaper
4:18
than what I spent at Dollarama for the supplies for this video. They are all
4:23
precision cut and will match up perfectly with your device. Use
4:27
dbrand.com/blueballs now to pick up your own. And boom, blue iPhone. Mission
4:33
accomplished. We did it, Reddit. 3 million views, tons of sponsorship
4:36
money. Okay, but seriously, this video was never intended to be all about
4:40
poking fun at the hysteria every time Apple invents a new freaking magic hue.
4:46
We were inspired by the red iPhone and our love for the color blue to talk
4:49
about your balls. Ticular cancer is the leading cancer among men aed 15 to 44,
4:55
but it is also the most treatable cancer if caught early by
5:00
self-examination. Yes, friends, we're telling you to touch yourself. And to
5:04
help disseminate awareness about this cause, we're holding a charity eBay
5:09
auction for this actual phone. This one right here. The only product red special
5:14
edition that was at one point in time blueed by Lionus Media Group on the
5:19
planet. To be clear, it still works just fine. It's not set up yet, but yeah. And
5:24
actually has almost no remnants of our experiments on it. I cleaned it myself.
5:28
And it includes a bucket of blue Dbrand
5:31
skins in their carbon and true blue colors. So, here you go. This is your
5:36
chance to get something random from LT while simultaneously supporting two
5:40
amazing causes. Healthy babies, you know, the whole point of the Project Red
5:44
thing, and Healthy Balls. We're going to donate 100% of the auction price to
5:49
testicular cancer.go. We've got them linked in the video description. And
5:54
we'll post an Instagram video of us doing it, all while giving you the
5:59
nuttiest shout out we've ever unloaded.
6:02
Thanks for watching, guys. If this video sucked, you know what to do. But if it
6:06
was awesome, get subscribed, hit the like button, or even check the link of
6:11
where to buy stuff in the Amazon video description thing. Also linked in the
6:16
description is our merch store where you can buy some shirts and or check out the
6:20
community forum where you can this time talk about balls. It is allowed in that
6:25
one forum section. Moderators take note. People are allowed to talk about balls
6:29
on that thread.
