So today we're going to be having a look at by oh I should say by popular demand
0:11
because whenever I do get multiple requests for a product unboxing I do say
0:15
that or I try to this is the bit Phoenix
0:18
Shinobi which is a more value oriented case from bit Phoenix they do have other
0:22
cases including their Colossus which is a very high-end case uh but this is more
0:27
meant to Target those mainstream Gam type folks so this one there's it's
0:32
available in two versions there's a window version and then there's a non-
0:36
window version we have the non- window version there's actually a diagram here
0:40
showing you what it looks like with the Windows side panel versus what it looks
0:43
like without a Windows side panel I should hope you all know what a non-
0:46
windowed side panel looks like at this point in time though we've got maximum
0:50
expansion okay that's what they have to say for themselves bit Phenix soft touch
0:54
surface treatment which is actually pretty cool I have seen it in person before efficient cooling toolfree design
0:59
for the window version only that's interesting and okay let's let's open
1:03
this thing up and see what it has to
1:07
show for itself so this is a uh brand
1:11
new case here I got Breaking All the seals because that's what I do I break
1:16
seals like I don't Club seals I just
1:19
break them hahaa not not funny cuz I'm from
1:23
Canada I know okay let's dump this guy out and see
1:29
what we we can
1:34
see I wonder if I've actually made that joke before about seals I mean I've done
1:39
so many of these videos at this point that um it's hard to keep track of what
1:44
I've said and haven't said and what I can and cannot say so you know just kind
1:50
of just kind of roll with it and if I make the same joke twice well then
1:54
hopefully you guys will forgive me
2:00
and I don't have a uh subscriber Rebellion on my hands or
2:05
anything like that so there it is that is the Shinobi I'm going to go ahead I'm
2:09
going to do that 360° rotation thing again which is something that I never do
2:14
but this case is fortunately reasonably light and it doesn't have uh super
2:19
grippy rubber feet on the bottom in fact let's find out what it does have on the
2:22
bottom cuz I'm curious now oh look at that so just metal punch outs on the
2:26
bottom so it might move around a little bit but
2:30
I mean honestly once you load this up with a system it should have some more
2:33
weight to it it's only light right now cuz it's a bare case so let's look at
2:37
external features first why don't we so the first thing we got here at the front
2:40
is three 5 and 1/4 in Bays nice little
2:43
brushed metal bit Phoenix logo there and
2:46
we've got some ventilation holes down both sides actually we've got
2:50
ventilation holes down both sides and all up the top and then finally we have
2:56
what looks like a dual 120 mil vent also
2:59
on the on the top we've got four USB 2.0
3:02
ports headphone and microphone ports as well as power and reset and this is that
3:07
soft touch feel finish that I was talking about before this is kind of a
3:13
what what can I how can I describe it it feels kind of like a a rubber that's not
3:19
sticky so like if if rubber had a bit of
3:22
a powder on it so that it it doesn't stick As you move your hand across it
3:27
okay on the side panels themselves we've just got your standard um powder coated
3:34
painted metal finish and this screw is
3:37
difficult to remove I will need a screwdriver sorry about that guys got
3:42
that taken care of now so these are thumb screws here so they're probably
3:45
only tight because they're put in at the factory um if
3:49
you okay if you put them in by hand
3:52
every time then you'll be able to remove them by hand every time so we can call
3:56
that tooless although bit Phoenix doesn't even claim that the non-
4:00
windowed version which this clearly is because there's no window clearly well
4:04
that is to say that it would be clear if there was a window on the left side
4:10
panel so we've got the case opened up let's do
4:14
the back first why not here we've got our three 5 and 1/4 in Bays I can see
4:19
here that the tooless mechanisms are removed from the 3 and 1/2 in Bays of
4:23
which there are 1 2 3 4 5 6 78 wow
4:26
outstanding eight 3 and 1/2 in hard
4:29
drive D cages um which are toolless on
4:33
the window version and not toolless on this one and then we can also see a CPU
4:38
cutout at the back of the motherboard tray that's for installing large bulky
4:42
CPU heat sinks without taking the motherboard out installing a back plate
4:46
putting the motherboard back in and then installing the heat sink you can just do
4:49
it through the back we've got some cable routing holes and we've also got
4:52
adequate space between the right side panel and these cable routing holes here
4:57
so you're going to be able to actually run a 24 Pin cable out to the side of
5:01
the motherboard and an eight Pin cable up to the top you probably have to Route
5:04
it through here without any clearance issues at the back so let's actually
5:09
here speaking of the back let's look at the back of the case where we have
5:13
a0 mm cooling fan we've got our IO Port
5:17
we've got eight expansion slots a couple of these water cooling holes although
5:21
these are very very small these are probably only going to accept uh thin
5:25
walled 3/8 tubing or thick walled 1/4 in tubing we've got our power supply
5:29
mounting here and that is a bottom mounted power supply with a couple of
5:33
things that are exceptional about it one of which is that it is filtered so
5:37
there's a filter right here which can be quite easily removed also we've got four
5:41
little rubber mounts here which will keep the power supply raised off the
5:44
bottom of your case a little bit to ensure that it is able to suck in some
5:49
fresh air without any difficulty no matter which way you mount it we've also
5:53
got a 120 mm fan intake here which isn't
5:56
going to be able to pull in a ton of air through that mesh that filter and then
6:01
finally the fact that the case isn't that far off the ground but it will
6:04
provide some additional intake air for your graphics card area although I would
6:09
say that's probably a very optional fan to install because right here at the
6:13
front of the case we've got two 120 mil
6:16
fan mounts as well so that's going to take care of most of the cooling needs
6:22
for anything that is behind them I'm going to go ahead and see if I can uh
6:26
remove this without too much
6:33
difficulty okay that wasn't supposed to happen uh either way here you can see
6:38
the removable fan filters here at the front Okay you can see where you can oh
6:43
this is neat so you can actually install a three and
6:46
a oh that's an interesting way to do that it's not damaged at all hey we win
6:52
yep we're good uh so you can see here that we can use this as a 3 and 1/2 in
6:57
uh front drive bay installer if if we want to see that's got the soft touch
7:01
finish on it and then you can do two more 5 and a quar without any difficulty
7:06
whatsoever all right I'm just going to put that away for now anyway and we do
7:11
have clearance at the front for those 120 mm fans so those go on the inside
7:15
here next we've got our internal cables which are all black love to see this
7:19
even though the case isn't windowed it has a full black interior including
7:23
black cables black connectors on the ends of things and that is awesome so
7:27
we've just got our front panels for your power your reset all that good stuff two
7:32
front USB cables and a front audio
7:36
cable I think that pretty much wraps it
7:39
up at this point in time doesn't it I don't see any kind of a dedicated 2 and
7:44
1/2 in Drive Mount although correct me
7:47
if I am wrong about that oh one thing I
7:51
haven't mentioned though is uh the fan
7:54
mounting options for the top so you can see that we can either do dual 120 mm
7:58
fans or or dual 140 mm fans in the top so this case in spite of the fact that
8:04
it looks very clean I mean remember once we put the front panel back on which
8:09
hopefully is easier to put on than it was to remove there we go uh
8:14
once we put the front panel on it actually looks very clean and very sharp
8:17
but we can install one two 140 mm fans
8:21
we can do one two 3 four 120 mm fans in
8:26
this fairly modest little case so thank you for checking out my unboxing and
