0:02 how the waters are completely melted hello oh we're uh now we're now we're
0:08 encoding frames there we go yeah welcome to the the pot show pool show melted
0:15 melted iceing condensation show The W show live streaming to you here from
0:21 beautiful melted ice and condensation show yeah well that condensation can um
0:27 melt if if wano ever lands on an April fools we should just change what the
0:31 show is about and be super hardcore about whatever it is yeah it could be
0:34 like the chicken show like all the latest news about chickens chickens
0:40 chicken farming chicken breeding is chicken breeding chicken
0:44 farming whoa cuz you like you like sew
0:48 chickens and then you harvest chickens what's what's what's effectively well
0:52 it's animal husbandry yeah yeah that's
0:55 right welcome to the animal husbandry and farming show we've got a lot of
0:58 great topics for you guys to today including uh NVIDIA's GTX 1000 I didn't
1:03 know if you were ready for that one you took that from me also some bad news
1:07 about the GTX 1080 with respect to SLI
1:11 if you're super hardcore into having like lots of graphics cards yes or not
1:17 that bad news but we'll talk about that later um Oxford study finds that virtual
1:22 reality can help treat severe paranoia which is sweet and the hyperloop one
1:28 shows us how fast we could get from here
1:31 to there kind of more at 11 also known
1:36 as now we'll see
1:44 is oh I am so
1:49 sweaty just sitting here everything about me is damn I look like a different
1:54 person unless you look under my then
1:58 it's okay
2:01 old only
2:08 under all right so NVIDIA's 1000 series
2:13 oh I was just going to say it has been a
2:16 freaking week yep he went to the
2:19 unveiling of the GTX 1080 and 1070 why
2:24 did they call it the 1080 yeah do they
2:27 enjoy creating confusion like I the whole time I was like okay no one's
2:32 confused yet but I've only talked to like reviewers and like Tech heads and
2:36 then I talked to Taran and he was like wait does that mean it's a 1080 card or
2:41 a 4K card can it play 4K games and I'm like oh damn it and people are going to
2:46 walk into a store okay and you're going to have a big box sales rep and they're
2:50 going to say I want to buy a 1080 and
2:53 they're going to be like LG Samsung
2:58 ASUS and custom going to be like uh
3:02 Samsung's a good brand I'll have a 1080 Samsung and uh that's going to be bad
3:08 because that's not going to be what they meant to buy and it's going to be a big
3:14 problem wow I think that was one of the monkeys that's a monkey so for those of
3:18 you doubting that we are actually in a jungle um that sound effect could not
3:24 possibly have been pre-recorded and added into the stream after the fact and
3:28 we've got a doubter that we're even live right now this yeah we've got hold on
3:34 hold on let me let me scroll back up for a second shots going Jester
3:39 61 come on you are you are the real Jester we are live oh my goodness we are
3:44 live no one no one we get this all the
3:47 time oh you guys aren't live all right well we're going to tell you live like
3:51 every show about the GTX 1080 so let me just uh original poster here is oh
3:55 apparently no one so I'm going to pull up the original article here from Anon
3:58 Tech get this on the screen Luke was there though he doesn't need an
4:02 article from a nonch walk us through what you experienced so uh one thing
4:08 that I want to address like immediately because I think this is really important
4:11 is because uh it it it sounds awesome the performance sounds great people
4:15 aren't benchmarking it yet you'll maybe hear about that later
4:21 super ambiguous no real details thing but yeah no like user benchmarks
4:27 happened yet um but they did claim two
4:30 times the performance of a Titan X and three times the efficiency of a Titan X
4:35 power efficiency uh that I did have a little
4:38 caveat there that was VR specifically and we'll get more into it later there's
4:42 like a software thing that they're doing that's allowing them to get more performance in VR which is still
4:47 interesting to me as someone who definitely has a Vive in the mail not in
4:51 the mail yet but soon to be in the mail and talking to some of the NVIDIA guys
4:56 after the event uh jay2 cense and I were like yo you didn't talk about dx11 or 12
5:02 at all because honestly in their press event I didn't see enough people complaining about this they didn't
5:07 mention those performance metrics once
5:10 so we asked them what was going on there and they said it should be 25
5:15 205% faster than two 980s or a 980ti or
5:21 a tiex which makes sense because I mean if you look at the specs it's like yeah
5:25 it's got a lot more clock speed yeah it's on a new process node n but they
5:31 are pulling the same thing that they've now done for three generations including
5:36 this one where they released their second from the top tier chip which
5:42 traditionally would have been like if you go all the way back to the 400
5:47 series that traditionally would have been a
5:50 460 okay like the equivalent die siiz
5:54 chip um so they're releasing that as a highend and then they're going to follow
5:58 it up presumably with I can never keep track of yeah with a GP 100 so GP 104
6:05 yes so the the 1080 and the 1070 are GP
6:08 104s and the presumably Titan whatever
6:13 Titan y Titan yellow Titan Mexico Titan
6:17 Mexico Edition I don't know um cuz it's hot oh snap so whatever that is and the
6:24 1080 TI and whatever else possibly will
6:27 be the GP 100 by the way I finally figured it out cuz I was like they
6:33 always have these letters in the code names okay it's gForce
6:39 Kepler numbers oh my God GeForce Maxwell
6:44 numbers that's why the uh that's why the
6:48 that's why the P 100 isn't GP 100
6:52 because it's just Pascal 100 it is not
6:55 the gamer skew oh my God that makesense
7:01 finally glued me into it so that's why did you figure that out or did you read that somewhere no I was just thinking
7:04 about it I was like okay so it's called GP 104 now I get to remember another
7:08 stupid I don't I don't know if so that's GF fery gForce F I got you yeah it but
7:13 finally makes it all lines up I am an idiot anyway the chat's probably telling
7:17 us we're dumb I know here it comes it's
7:20 always with the time always with the time
7:23 delay uh all right what else you got from the event there okay so there was
7:27 four major features so you guys know most of the specs it was 8 GB gddr5x fed
7:33 over 2 gz and that was on the 1080 and then it
7:38 was 8 gbes still but gdr 5 which is
7:42 probably completely fine GD wait no it's not GD 70 oh 1070 1070 is just 8 GB of
7:48 gddr5 but that's probably completely fine we'll get benchmarks of that at
7:53 some point yeah I don't know when sorry
7:57 um sorry I had some paperwork caught in my throat oh oh oh oh Sly
8:03 um but one quote that they have is that
8:06 the GTX 1080 and presumably 1070 is
8:10 built to make the most of today's multim monitor setups curved screens and
8:14 head-mounted displays and that's like a
8:17 thing the reason why they brought that up was simultaneous multi-projection which is something that they've been
8:21 working on where they can and they've had stuff like this in the past but this
8:25 is much more so they're they're making it so that they can r under more than
8:30 one like viewing angle at once so
8:33 basically if you have a multim monitor setup oh yeah this is super cool you're
8:38 going to like this a lot if you have a multim monitor setup and I explain this in the software video a little bit but
8:42 I'm going to go into it more here if you have a multim monitor setup usually with
8:46 your displays curved on the side because you'd have them angled in towards you
8:50 you mean more like angled on the side angled on the side cuz curved displays are a different thing and curve displays
8:54 also have this problem though yes that's true yeah that's truee like I mean maybe
8:59 not most of the ones that are out there now but like remember that prototype
9:03 that Alienware showed off that super curved one that would definitely suffer
9:07 from from Distortion of the rendering at the edges and sometimes even just having
9:11 a crazy wide screen like playing in 21 by9 at all y will have these problems
9:16 it's not as big of a deal I didn't really cover this much in the individual
9:19 video because it's kind of a use case scenario depending on what game you play
9:22 and stuff if they support that resolution a lot of times they don't so
9:26 it stretches it and to stretch it you have these warping problems where the
9:31 scale uh is screwed up on a lot of the objects on the sides so like the cockpit
9:36 like the bars for the for the window of the cockpit are like this thick they're
9:41 massive on the side they take up almost the entire screen yeah and you play
9:45 rocket league and everything on the sides is Warped out and this happens when you have multiple displays as well
9:49 and it's even worse because you angle them in and then things like break as
9:53 they go across the screens because the angle that you have them on doesn't look
9:57 right and stuff right s multi projection
10:01 should theoretically fix all of these things I don't know how and I'm sure
10:05 we'll figure it out eventually yeah here
10:08 um but the they they can figure out the the angle of your screens and they can
10:13 solve that problem and line everything up for you so if you're looking at
10:16 something even across angled screens it will be flat that is incredible and and
10:21 they fix the there's no there's no more skew there's no more warping going on
10:25 they they fix all that kind of stuff the scale's fixed I should have put an
10:28 asterisk on that that that's incredible wow that's
10:31 incredible tell me more works we need to
10:34 test it if it works if does it require Game Dev support do we even know this
10:39 yet can we talk about this yet don't know if we know that yet okay what else
10:44 we got um then let's talk about the one you're stoked on anzel yeah okay so
10:50 anzel is really cool um I don't know if we have the games that are supported for
10:54 it right now this one does need Dev support I don't see a game list here I
10:59 did mention the entire game list in my video one of them is like the division
11:04 uh wow I'm not going to remember the other ones right now one try I'll try
11:08 and pull it up just talk about the feature for now what anel is is
11:11 essentially a incredibly badass
11:14 screenshot software which when he told me about it I was like okay yeah I had
11:20 to asterisk that with like trust me it's interesting in the video as well because
11:25 like no it's actually really cool it can screenshot things I don't remember the
11:28 exact resolution but it's up to up to 32
11:32 times your monitor's resolution and then there's another resolution number which
11:35 is like whatever one you hit first but it's like 65,000 by 32,000 or something
11:40 ridiculous now so they showed it off with this ginormous canvas about 15x3 M
11:47 created using Ansel that has a 2 gigapixel capture from The Witcher 3 now
11:53 to be clear none of this is going to
11:57 make your game that you're playing run
12:00 at that kind of a resolution no that is not how it works but in much the same
12:06 way that Dynamic super resolution which they launched with the 980 can take more
12:12 samples like it can kind of go okay what
12:16 if we were rendering the game at four times the resolution and you're
12:21 basically running a render of the scene yes and then instead of just having it
12:25 go from your view it's rendering
12:29 everything so the camera will actually what you do in order to perform an anzel
12:34 screenshot isn't just press print screen they they wanted to say this a million
12:39 times during the show they like no more print screen button although hopefully
12:43 you can bind it or something um because that would be cool but it like pauses
12:46 the game you get a free cam so say you have like say I'm like punching you and
12:51 my head's down here you could change the camera so that instead of like being out
12:55 here and it's a fighting game the camera is now looking up at me an angle that
13:02 Trad it scre
13:06 itam from every different angle and one
13:09 situation that they showed with The Witcher is they took a screenshot like
13:12 really far out of what I believe was a castle going off of memory and then they
13:16 were like okay but because of the insane resolution you can zoom all the way in
13:22 through this window and then look at a book and see the printing on the
13:26 book which is super cool really cool and this allows you to do things like uh
13:31 there's really not that many notes but there's something called exr which for
13:35 camera people means that it has like amazingly good color information it's
13:39 basically like taking a a raw photo right so you could essentially like
13:43 change the lighting in the scenes you can make it basically be day even if the
13:49 photo is taken like at night and you can do a lot of really cool things in terms
13:53 of cropping you can even take 360° photos so if you want to like thing that
13:59 I thought would have been really cool you have to enable it the game developer
14:02 has to enable it so this wouldn't be possible so I've got that list uh which your three was used to show it off other
14:07 games that have announced anel support include the division the witness law Breakers Paragon no man's Sky Unreal
14:13 Tournament and abduction so uh there you go um there
14:18 there's the at the event someone asked if it would work with Shadow play so you
14:23 could go back into a shadow play recording and then run anel and they
14:27 said that they would not comment on it yet that doesn't seem like it should work
14:30 that doesn't seem possible that really doesn't seem like
14:34 it should work cuz cuz I thought the way Shadow play is working is it's basically
14:37 just an h264 encoding of uh I was
14:41 surprised that the guy seemed enthusiastic when he said that they
14:45 can't comment on it yet so I'm not really sure how that works I would have thought the answer would have been no
14:49 you idiot no yes like so but who knows
14:52 maybe they're changing Shadow play and maybe NVIDIA hasn't been entirely
14:55 transparent about how Shadow play works yeah so so I don't know that's that
15:00 seems pretty freaking cool be very cool if you could go like wow that was cool
15:04 let me go back and like make sure I have a really cool render of that cuz something I would have really liked is
15:08 uh the I'm going to talk about classic wow again when nostris went down there
15:13 was all those like people Gatherings and all that kind of stuff they released
15:16 something called uh nostras memories I believe it's called where you can go
15:20 back in and like be there again it would
15:23 be super cool if anzel existed so you could get like crazy angles like way
15:27 above where everyone was and have really interesting views it's not built into
15:31 the game so it will not work but that's the first thing I thought of was if this
15:35 was enabled way back when it definitely didn't exist um it would have been super
15:40 cool to have those kind of screenshots something that you can relive and you
15:44 could take a 360 Dee photo this is going to make people so hungry for like 16k
15:50 monitors and like 8 to 10 times more
15:54 powerful gpus because honestly going back and playing games that you haven't
15:58 played since you were running you know like uh you know even going back and
16:02 playing something like Far Cry 1 which you might have run the first time on
16:06 like a you know 6600 GT or something like that it is amazing how much more is
16:13 left in those games when you run them on more powerful hardware and you really
16:17 crank up all the details especially the engines that scale well this is not
16:21 increasing the resolution of the game no not what you're actually running it's
16:26 it's just taking a very high resolution screenshot so it's what it would look
16:31 like if you could do that yeah so like
16:35 one really cool thing too is you can take these photos and then there's an
16:38 app for your phone now NVIDIA VR viewer
16:41 I believe it's called and you can send the anel screenshot to that app and then
16:46 view it in like a Google cardboard or something they gave everyone at the
16:49 event Google cardboards so that we would be able to do that obviously haven't
16:53 been able to yet because don't have it
16:56 but that will be very cool once you're able to so there's some more VR features
17:00 uh path traced audio which is you know
17:04 for regular two-dimensional
17:07 gaming um also applicable but for VR is
17:12 particularly important so and like needs to be pinpoint accurate so that's very
17:17 cool that they're working on that one thing that I me I don't have a lot to say about this there's path traced audio
17:22 it should massively increase the Precision of you being able to figure out where things are based on sound
17:26 which is super cool like you should be able to tell if something's in another
17:30 room or if it's behind something or if it goes from being behind something to
17:34 being not behind something yes exactly something that like all of the 3D Audio
17:39 Solutions that exist today quite frankly just are not good enough at from my
17:45 experience and apparent I've I've heard this is completely hearsay but I've
17:49 heard that one of the main guys that they have working on this used to work
17:52 with like the US military on like sound stuff in terms of like taking the
17:57 reverberation of sound in order to find snipers and tanks and stuff within
18:01 cities from like super far away so like
18:04 well I'm glad he's working on something important now yeah well I'm assuming he figured
18:09 that stuff out um but like so he's probably pretty good I don't know um so
18:15 that should be cool and one thing that I'm super excited for is I know it
18:18 sounds really lame visually but it would actually be a lot of fun to do is if
18:21 they release like if if Disney releases like a small Tech demo where you get to
18:26 do the training Droid fight
18:29 H so if if it like if you go to put your helmet on and then it becomes black and
18:33 then you just hear where the training Droid is and it takes shots and you have
18:36 to try to block them that would be crazy that would be so much fun it sounds so
18:40 stupid visually cuz you literally put a headset on in order to see Blackness
18:43 yeah but like it would be really fun that would be really fun yeah I don't
18:47 know so speaking of really fun this was
18:50 originally posted by aln 1118 the
18:54 original article here is from OC overclock 3d. net let go ahead and uh
19:00 pull this baby up so member a member of
19:03 the EVGA tech support team has confirmed
19:06 that the 1080 will be limited and and assuming assuming the rest of the lineup
19:11 will be limited to two-way SLI and they said that we can confirm that 1080 cards
19:16 only support up to two-way SLI and anything above this will not work no
19:20 matter the SLI Bridge just to explain that last Point there's a new SLI Bridge
19:24 can you use an old one theoretically no
19:28 I've heard I don't know no one really knows I even contacted them seeing if we
19:32 could get another card to test SLI because it's supposed to be new and
19:35 improved and stuff and they're like no no one's getting that yet they will be
19:40 eventually but they're like well we want to keep Fair Ground so you guys can't be
19:45 the only one with SLI
19:48 test yeah and I was told in that that I would need the new SLI Bridge so yeah I
19:53 think you have to use the new s Bridge it hasn't been like outright confirmed
19:56 interesting the SLI Bridge has been with us for like 10 years I think yes and all
20:02 the way back to 6,000 series holy crap and something
20:09 that I did notice was if you look uh you might be able to pull this up right now
20:14 maybe not if you look at my coverage of the when when we're having the talk with
20:18 all of us in the room I have some b-roll of a system that was built by BS mods
20:22 they're awesome check them out um and it has two cards in it in SLI not three not
20:28 four only two and it has the new SLI bridge on it and it's
20:33 big and that matters because I was checking out my sample card because when
20:37 I first read this I was like what mine had two fingers on it and it does I
20:41 double checked it has two SLI fingers on it but the SLI Bridge was big so I think
20:46 what they're really doing is just teaming the SLI Lanes yeah cuz they even
20:49 said it's double the really so they're just teaming the
20:53 SLI Lanes like I'm pretty sure it's not confirmed but like that that the bridge
20:58 is Big meaning it's probably taking up both of them and there are two fingers
21:02 on my card I don't have it here but like I guarantee you do you think they're
21:05 going to let us just put on two old bridges or do you think they did
21:10 something stupid like like cross the paths internally on the bridge so people
21:14 can't do that easily I'm assuming there is some type of internal logic that
21:20 teams them together okay which but then
21:23 does that mean have to buy it separately prob I mean I don't know if motherboard
21:27 manufacturers are any include that oh
21:30 especially at different spacings right I that's the thing I love progress as much
21:33 as anyone but when you have such
21:37 a a staple as the SLI Bridge like who
21:41 like I have like multiple bins of SLI Bridges I have have your favorite ones
21:45 different colors like I got my old DFI land party one with the black PCB like
21:50 huh and one thing that was interesting was uh I expected before I went to the
21:55 event that in our like goodie bag which had the April tools uh energy drinking
22:00 like a cliff bar and stuff which is actually kind of funny um they were
22:04 going to be giving us an S Bridge right the reason why I thought that was
22:08 because on the like press signup page there was a question asking us what our
22:12 favorite motherboard spacing for two-way SLI
22:16 was and then no and then no oh so I'm
22:20 wondering if they were pulling everyone that went to the event to figure out which spacings they should have more
22:25 available
22:28 I hope this isn't something that you have to buy from NVIDIA.com or something
22:32 yeah that would suck I'm not okay personally I'm not super worried that
22:35 we're now limited to two because three and four is pretty dumb anyway we've
22:40 talked about it time and time again three and four is not good even if the
22:45 FPS number is higher like people who
22:48 send me their system config and they're like yeah I'm getting three cuz I'm a
22:52 super ba dude you end up getting no actually you just get stuttering and
22:56 it's just and compatibility issue and and it's just bad go go back and watch
23:01 the compensator that had four four cards yeah four 98 four tight four tight Nexus
23:06 I think I think so yeah forite Nexus and like it was unplayable in anything yeah
23:12 cuz so much stuttering and like just it was gross to play anything on that
23:16 anything on that machine and I'm hoping that if they're limited to two now they
23:21 will just focus on two completely
23:24 explain the uh the limitation to two as well if it's just two old bridges
23:29 because you couldn't yeah okay okay okay I think you cracked the code I think so
23:33 speaking of cracking the code if you were thinking yourself gee I sure wish I
23:39 could launch a new career as a code cracker I actually don't know that
23:45 linda.com has codec cracking courses but
23:48 you could learn programming which could maybe lead you into that kind of fi I
23:53 wasn't even going to try and bring it into something they actually teach we
23:57 did it though but we did we did it so they've got web development photography
24:01 visual design you Excel that's where you can store your cracked codes train
24:04 training software like Photoshop word is
24:08 where you could like write documentation for other people in in terms of like how
24:13 you crack the code so all the courses are taught by industry experts with new
24:16 courses added every week and whether you're setting new financial goals for
24:19 yourself finding work life balance investing in a new hobby or you just
24:23 want to ask your boss for a raise linda.com could be your path to it
24:27 they've got tons of great features like being able to browse along with the
24:31 course transcript and just click anywhere on the text and Skip to that
24:35 point in the video us that many times actually the ability to download to your
24:38 iOS or Android app and watch offline when you're on a bus say for example
24:43 time that would have been otherwise wasted and plan started only 25 bucks a
24:47 month so all you got to do to get a 10-day free trial is head over to
24:50 linda.com wow which we will have Linked In the video
24:54 description description description our next sponsor

25:24 other nonsense like that you download the app which is available for PC Mac uh
25:28 iOS Android they've even got a Chrome extension and then you just go I want to
25:33 be from the OG I don't know the United States because I I I love you know us
25:40 web services say for example and boom your connection gets encrypted and your
25:45 public IP switches to an American one
25:48 that allows you to watch stuff like Comedy Central I think that's right and
25:51 you can try out tunnel bear for free to find out if it's right for you with 500
25:54 megabytes of data and no credit card required by heading over to tunnel bear.com
25:58 W where you can also save 10% on your paid unlimited tunnel bear
26:05 subscription speaking of unlimited we don't have your C unlimited
26:12 time in the day what are we talking about fresh fresh books fresh books yeah
26:17 fresh books yeah because you don't have unlimited time to monetize your whatever
26:21 he was talking about let's just do them both fresh books lets you stay organized
26:27 save time make more money by focusing your effort on your own business whether
26:32 it's Plumbing whether it's you know making arts and crafty type thing and
26:36 selling them whether it's uh you know I don't know house painting whether it's
26:41 small it service whether it's uh dogs
26:44 you know whether it's dog grooming fresh books is a cloud tool that lets you
26:48 track your expenses keep track of your invoices for your clients email invoices
26:53 to your clients get paid directly through fresh books and basically make
26:56 your life easier if you're not the kind of person who finishes a long day of uh
27:02 teaching dance lessons in your garage and sits wants to sit down in front of
27:07 the computer and do some accounting yeah that sounds kind of
27:12 which is not a thing that most small business owners are really that into
27:15 because let's face it if you were a small business owner who was into accounting you would start up a business
27:20 as an accountant wouldn't you that actually that actually makes a ton of sense makes a ton of sense you know what
27:24 after a long day of doing accounting you probably don't want to do your own accounting
27:29 isn't that such a thing though like the that drives the beater be quite
27:33 legitimate yeah you know it's really it's really funny though like the okay
27:37 mechanic driving the beater is is less less uh less offensive but like or or
27:42 less not not is more offensive rather but like would you let a dentist work on
27:46 your teeth that had really bad teeth oh
27:50 but they can't even work on their own teeth anyway they could have they could be a great dentist but have a there was
27:55 that Russian surgeon that operated on himself Antarctica like removed his appendix or
28:01 something I think that's the exception not the rule okay
28:07 maybe that guy's crazy speaking of
28:10 exceptions and not the
28:13 rule I'm just going to fire this up most
28:16 of our content is available to everyone
28:21 on YouTube some of it like nerd Sports
28:25 is only available on vessel and episode 4 hockey is out now I can't tell you
28:32 guys how to uh you know sort of manage
28:36 your manage your subscriptions to services but what I can say is vessel
28:40 offers a onewe free trial that gives you early access up to a week to a ton of
28:45 content creators not just all of our channels and if you were to start your
28:49 onewe trial now you would be able to check out I'm just going to screen share
28:54 with you guys here I'm going to try not to have it of go go forever
28:59 no um would allow you to check out all
29:02 four of the episodes that are already up on vessel and it would allow you to have
29:07 a subscription still when the fifth and final of our first portion of the series
29:12 comes out very shortly here's some teaser footage that's the team we played
29:16 against which was super terrifying by the way in case you guys were like
29:20 wondering about that and this is sort of more along the lines of what you can
29:25 expect from us
29:29 yep look at this go where's Colton Colton was hilarious freaking awesome
29:33 I'm sorry the bit rate's really low the uh connection here at the hotel in
29:38 Mexico is not exactly that great and we are streaming so we're it's actually
29:43 kind of a miracle that that loaded at all so you can check it out the Link's
29:47 going to be in the video description over on YouTube but it's vessel.com it's
29:50 not exactly complicated all right so let's move on
29:54 to some of our in the chat too some of our additional topics
29:59 here um but I guess for the YouTube viewers it'll be down below here we go
30:04 this is freaking cool so the original
30:08 here is from gizmag I'm just going to fire this up here and uh start up my
30:13 battery bank again I think I'm triggering either overheating or over
30:16 current protection trying to keep my uh laptop Juiced up here so this is a very
30:22 early test it's called a propulsion open air test or po um it does use
30:27 electromagnet to propel a sled at 115 M
30:32 miles per gallon apparently uh considering Colton wrote it but it's
30:35 actually 115 mph or 185 km per hour
30:40 which is pretty damn impressive along a test track running 1,500 ft long so this
30:45 isn't actually to test like how fast it
30:48 can go this is more of like a a stepping
30:52 stone Theory kind of deal so they're going to add on to it and add on to it
30:55 and add on to it and add and add on to it and grow and prove the theory as they
31:00 grow this is just kind of an early stage thing so I know people would be like I
31:05 thought they were claiming it would go much faster than that like 700 mph and
31:10 you're right they were what voice is that and I don't know that was awful I
31:15 don't know um and hopefully they will grow up to that point um but this is
31:20 yeah this is an early on thing it's open air it's supposed to be in a vacuum tube
31:23 like one of the main points of this whole thing is that it's in a vacuum
31:27 tube tube they don't have that part going quite yet so yeah it's it's it's
31:31 fine they're just testing like this the sand shark sled and all that kind of
31:35 stuff okay battery is critical oh my oh
31:38 my goodness the uh oh this is oh this is
31:41 going to be awkward okay do you want to give them some more give them some more
31:44 specs on that okay yeah so it's about 10 miles north of Las Vegas Nevada um it
31:51 claiming a bunch of stuff that we've already heard about apparently the experiment when the capsule is created
31:57 will be using a compressor to create a stronger vacuum ahead of the vehicle to
32:01 cut down an air resistance all this kind of stuff we already knew even the test
32:04 system will include a passenger and cargo compartment and batteries to power
32:08 the system and contain a levitation
32:11 device to lift the capsule off the GU rails which will probably be Air Bursts
32:16 or something along those lines Air Bursts or magnet uh uh magnets but I
32:20 believe last time I heard it was airburst so that should be pretty cool
32:24 we have a um picture here which I will
32:27 will try to bring up although I'm using Linus's laptop I'm not sure how things
32:31 are set up so going toct new it was 1500 track BL I
32:38 already did that okay okay so no worries
32:42 there you go so there's the sled which is obviously not going to carry huge
32:47 amounts of cargo or people or literally
32:50 anything kind of looks like a little cute spider thing um but yeah like I
32:54 said they're going to grow on that and move from there so this is cool but it
32:59 might not have been what you expected but it is still very cool their video
33:03 for it is like massively overproduced which is kind of fun but you know
33:07 whatever all right Amazon direct video service so this was originally posted by
33:12 Sam on the Forum the original article here is from The
33:16 Verge uh let me just go ahead and bring up that news item here Amazon challenges
33:21 YouTube by offering uploaders a cut of the ads which I don't think is uh right
33:27 at all oh that is a very sensationalist and honestly a little bit misleading
33:32 headline because speaking as a YouTuber
33:36 um I'm just going to throw this out there I'm pretty sure that check show up
33:44 monthly from YouTube where they give us
33:47 a cut of and I think it's to do with the ads on the videos maybe the ads I mean
33:51 if it's not to do with the ads on the videos I'm sorry guys uh I'm just going
33:55 to disable them from now on because apparently it's just coming from Magic
34:00 um so let's let's let's let's go through Colton's notes on this thing see if we
34:04 can demystify this B we'll let video creators share content and receive a cut
34:09 of the revenue okay offering creators a variety of ways to earn money including
34:14 royalties through streaming to Prime members that's cool because right now uh
34:20 YouTube does not have a subscription service that gives YouTubers a cut of
34:26 the royalties for the month oh wait hold on a second huh YouTube uh Rouge is it
34:31 rou Rouge uh uh red tube is that it oh
34:36 oh my no no don't go there unless you want to but and you're overage um uh
34:43 sorry but with that said with that said I mean if we had Amazon Prime
34:48 subscribers in our audience and we were to do some kind of YouTube Red series or
34:53 something which we don't have which we don't have in the works at all by the
34:57 way but seriously we don't we' have nothing going on with YouTube Red they
35:00 wouldn't be able to access it unless they had YouTube red as well that's
35:03 right so if we were to say okay yeah it'll be on Prime and it'll be on YouTube R all of a sudden we're giving
35:07 people choices and if they already have Prime anyway because they shop at Amazon
35:12 all the time then then that's that's cool uh so the revenue sharing will be
35:15 through rentals purchases subscriptions and AD Impressions so it sounds like it
35:20 could be free to use you probably won't need a Prime membership and Amazon
35:24 definitely has the video serving horses to make something like this happen so
35:28 that's pretty cool um I don't I I have I
35:32 don't know at all but just reading this and looking at what Amazon's doing I'm
35:37 getting the vibe that they're not
35:40 targeting People Like Us right I think
35:44 they're targeting more of a Vimeo crowd than a YouTube crowd because looking at
35:49 like the pictures that they're using as their samples and stuff it's not like
35:53 super fun we did weird thing I don't know what stuff is super popular on
35:58 YouTube uh kids stuff react react things
36:02 like it doesn't seem like that at all I don't know um it doesn't seem like any
36:06 of that at all it seems like little like user created shows so like if Rocket
36:11 Jump made longer episodes so more like
36:15 like podcasts or like um maybe podcast
36:19 that or like like like uh so maybe this episodic content episodic content or
36:24 like shows or like very very like more
36:27 higher production value oh that's not good is that battery dying as well I
36:31 think so uh oh that could be bad we might be an audio only cast for a little
36:37 bit here uh while I summon while I summon Brandon to bring us another
36:42 battery anyways I'm going to keep talking it it seems like yeah higher
36:45 production quality uh not really like
36:48 reviews or like short kind of contained videos it seems like they're still
36:53 leaving that uh market up to YouTube so
36:58 hi hello it's okay it's all
37:04 good H um so yeah I think they're still
37:10 leaving that kind of stuff up to YouTube I think it's going to be yeah more high
37:14 production quality like like short
37:17 movies is basically what I kind of think they're going for anyways moving on
37:22 Oxford study finds that virtual reality can help treat severe paranoia if you
37:27 just just like share okay yeah that kind of works hold on hold on I got this okay
37:33 okay okay we're back nice we're back we're back in Action um no never mind
37:38 never mind Brandon says he can't I'm just telling him we're
37:42 switching to the webcam there we go we're improvising we're improvising in
37:46 Mexico all right so so o finds going to
37:51 put the mic on top of the computer that's in the water it's van
37:56 show time again kids uh it's also like right in front of your
37:59 face all right would be the first time I put it there okay so um what else we got
38:05 for topic anyways uh sorry Oxford study
38:10 finds virtual reality can help treat so wow I don't know where to look hosted by
38:14 insanely secret D on the Forum by the way insanely secret d That's a fantastic
38:18 name the secret D anyways VR can help treat severe Paranoia by allowing people
38:22 to face situations that they fear now severe paranoia is like oh you got to
38:26 fix that um is like 1 to 2% of the
38:30 population um so that's actually pretty significant if you go into total number
38:34 of people and it is uh like the mental health issue and severe paranoia is like
38:38 not cool anyways how they do it is they
38:42 have people face their fears in VR so one they they already did a trial one
38:46 group was encouraged to use normal defensive behaviors and another group
38:50 was told to hold a long stare or stand toeo Toe with the avatars that uh
38:57 Encompass their fears I guess and super
39:01 cool over 50% of the patients no longer
39:05 had severe paranoia at the end of their
39:08 testing day one day day one day it says
39:14 singular day I don't know if like I haven't read super deeply into the
39:17 article I don't know if it was a whole but it does sing at all if it does
39:23 anything at all even if you need like regular regular therapy let's say for
39:27 examp like VR therapy I would I am so excited about
39:32 stuff like that I mean using technology for gaming is great I am super down for
39:39 using it for gaming why am I looking at that camera still camera's here yeah
39:43 yeah I'm super down for using it for gaming but using it for using it for
39:48 making people's actual RL lives better
39:52 that is the real deal uh speaking of
39:55 real deal this was originally posted by okay one one thing I want to drop in
39:59 over 50% of the patients no longer had severe paranoia at the end of the day
40:03 that were I believe um lowering their
40:07 defenses and standing Toe to Toe and the ones that used their defenses 20% of
40:12 that group no longer had severe paranoia at the end of the day still sing you
40:16 still have to conquer your fear yeah you still have to like but you can go in in
40:20 the eye knowing that it's not real that is not real and you're in VR and you
40:24 know that personally and it's that must make it so much easier considering 50%
40:30 of them were able to overcome their severe paranoia in a day it must have
40:34 been easier for them to do so so let's launch into some rapid fire topics here
40:38 um civilization 6 has been announced and it looks freaking awesome oh I was going
40:42 to do the Micron one but that's I had to do that but where is that even
40:47 civilization 6 it's probably down a little bit there's like no details on it
40:51 at all they're they're making it so that when you build your city it expanses a
40:54 little bit wow I'm still looking at the wrong camera it expanses
40:58 a sing loation and you have districts so you have like your industrial district
41:03 and like f growth district and your
41:06 culture district and all that kind of stuff then people can attack districts
41:10 individually when they come to fight you and it makes it so that like I believe
41:15 if I remember correctly there's more inter trade between cities so if you
41:19 have one city that's in the mountains it can be like totally industry focused
41:22 then you have one that's like along a nice River it could be like totally growth and food focused and interchange
41:28 with each other the problem that might introduce say someone comes and wipes
41:31 out your growth City then your industry city is stuck with no food right so
41:37 they're they're trying to make it so that each game is more so Rush The Great
41:40 Wall and uh what's the Colossus I think is yeah yeah yeah yeah basically so
41:45 that'll prob Rush Great Wall of Colossus still a good strategy probably four or
41:50 five iterations of of the game later um but yeah they're trying to make
41:55 it so that each game is more unique so basically where your city is placed will
41:59 more greatly influence how that City will naturally grow that is a struggle
42:03 for sa yeah it is so they're working on that a lot they're also working on I
42:08 think they call it Advanced multiplayer we're getting so much crap for our
42:11 crappy camera quality you know what we are streaming to you from Mexico so
42:16 sorry surprised it's even working it's a miracle it's working at all um anyways I
42:22 think it's called Advanced multiplayer we have no notes on this it's supposed to make scenarios that are easier to be
42:28 completed within a single play session with friends oh which is also a huge
42:34 thing that they need to come over because the The Long play like have
42:37 everyone come over for a whole day and do it is still cool risk is fun but
42:41 being able to have a smaller contained experience is also very cuz there's
42:44 people who have time to play Civ and then there's people with jobs and
42:48 families quite frankly I haven't been able to do a full play Civ game with
42:51 friends in a very long time yeah and that's like one of my favorite things to
42:55 do so um NVIDIA launches GTX 1080 with
43:00 Micron gddr5x and Micron has officially ramped
43:05 up fullscale production of gddr5x uh which shouldn't come as any
43:10 surprise given that um there are cards
43:14 launching that have it this is interesting this was post oh
43:19 that was posted by onot Tech next one here is posted by Captain Gaz and this
43:23 is fascinating PayPal to poll payment
43:28 protection for crowdfunding sites on June 25th they're basically saying look
43:33 if you haven't seen all the news articles if you haven't been burned already if you haven't seen the episode
43:38 of South Park if you haven't seen Luke's Neptune Pine video um we're sorry but we
43:44 don't feel bad for you anymore when you give them your money understand that you
43:49 are giving them your money can we talk about how amazing this title image is
43:53 for a moment what it's just like someone
43:56 took like a not great picture of like the side of someone's phone that had a
44:00 Paypal logo on it and just like that's good
44:04 enough honestly what it kind of it is
44:08 but like what how did you even think of
44:11 that like it's just on a table I I want you know you know what it
44:16 you know what I bet it is because no one would be taking like no one would be
44:20 doing like phone device photography with another phone camera
44:25 and you're like look how crap look how crap this looks you know what I bet it is I bet it is
44:30 actually like a a crop of a video that
44:33 they' made or something a photo they took for a phone for a review that
44:38 happened to have a PayPal logo and the why they would even like why that would
44:42 be why they wouldn't just put a PayPal logo at the top of the of the page yeah
44:46 like I'm sure PayPal has like logos for
44:49 people to use for that kind of stuff but here you go Kickstarter notes about 9%
44:53 of their projects never deliver and that is not accounting for ones that deliver
44:57 garbage sorry Dad you you'll get your Hammer eventually yeah um and there and
45:03 if the campaign just goes Bust or doesn't deliver you can no longer dispute the charge so in a statement
45:08 made to end Gadget from PayPal they said in Australia Brazil Canada Japan United
45:11 States and certain other countries we have excluded payments made to crowdfunding campaigns from our buyer
45:16 protection program I think this is fine
45:19 I don't think PayPal can be expected to do that to be completely honest what do you
45:24 think uh no I think it's completely reasonable especially given that you're
45:29 not exactly getting you know blindsided
45:32 by this anymore yeah um all right I've got actually okay
45:38 there's a couple more big ones uh the city of Zug Zoo Oh Lordy it's Swiss so
45:42 who knows this is posted by data on the Forum uh city of Zug is the first
45:49 government to accept
45:54 Bitcoin this legitimizes Bitcoin
45:57 in uh well I don't know Swiss Swiss it's
46:01 Swiss Swiss uh Swiss Swiss bank what you
46:04 doing oh you want me to translate the page yes I guess I should have done that
46:09 City will worldwide to bitcoin Pioneer oh
46:13 boy you made nothing better you
46:17 officially did not help at all let the
46:21 record show that you were not helpful we
46:25 definitely knew it said that
46:29 that was that was great I'm going to change scenes here eventually all right
46:32 let's get my notes up here so the Swiss town is billing it billing itself as a
46:36 hub for the digital currency industry will accept Bitcoin for some payment
46:40 starting this summer so the Town Council Zug approved every time I say it wrong
46:46 I'm going to be buried alive here sh is already U approved plans to accept
46:50 payments of up to 200 Swiss Franks for the municipal registration fee starting
46:54 July 1st part of an experiment and and
46:57 Zug tout the town's reputation as part of crypto Valley um approximately 15
47:02 companies linked to the digital currency business um in crypto Valley very very
47:07 cool this article doesn't show an O out over it so like I would expect that and
47:11 then it to be Zoo but because of that now I'm like
47:15 ah I don't know I don't know what to tell you all right this was posted by Z
47:19 mule and this is freaking
47:23 awesome Microsoft has announced the original article years from RS Technica
47:28 Microsoft has announced removal removal of some of the
47:35 particularly stupid restrictions that they've placed
47:40 on uh Universal Windows apps
47:43 particularly games that people were complaining about things like that you
47:47 couldn't run native full screen you had
47:50 to run borderless Window mode um things
47:54 like this and this is the one that we're specific speically talking about here
47:58 that we've got from our article here requiring
48:02 vsync why I don't want that vsync leg
48:07 please do not make me have it it's super annoying because it's bad and terrible
48:13 so Gamers will have better control over performance and picture quality
48:16 tradeoffs um the latest update is that you'll now be able to decide whether not
48:21 to have um uh vsync enabled and you will be able
48:26 to use gsync and free sync as well which
48:29 which is super good cuz that would be so frustrating owning like I don't own one
48:33 yet I hope to eventually get one um but owning a g-sync screen or a freesync
48:38 screen and just not being able to use it
48:42 because it's better yeah it really really truly is objectively better
48:48 speaking of objectively better uh the WAN Show normally so we're we're sorry
48:53 about this that we got going on here
48:57 but I think that's pretty much it for the show we will see you guys again next week same bat Time same bat Channel
49:02 totally different bat location no after party today yeah no oh
49:07 no after party no well there will be an after party but you guys aren't invited
49:11 Mexico
49:27 a
