0:01 Now, what's the name of that feeling you get? You know, when you're like you kind
0:04 of see stars and your left ARM starts to go a little bit numb and you kind of
0:10 short of breath. Yeah. Are you okay? No. No, that's not the one. No, it's the uh
0:14 tech news. Hey, AMD released the RX 5600 XT yesterday,
0:20 calling it the ultimate graphics card for 1080p gaming. And it seems like that
0:25 might just be true. At $279, the card
0:28 slots in right between the GTX 1660Ti
0:31 and the RTX 2060, performing slightly better on average than NVIDIA's
0:35 competitors, especially after board partners released BIOS updates that
0:39 bumped performance up a bit. NVIDIA seemed to know that the 5600 XT was
0:43 going to be good, though, and they slashed the price of the RTX 2060 by $50
0:48 down to $299 just a few days before AMD's launch, which is what AMD did to
0:53 NVIDIA when Team Green released the first Super Cards.
0:58 What's that smell? Smells like Justice. The price drop makes the RX 5600 XT a
1:04 bit harder to recommend if you also care about getting some of the special team
1:07 green features like endbank encoding, but overall it is not a bad pick. So, go
1:12 watch our full review over on LT. It's got Anthony in it. He loves you. Facial
1:16 recognition is cool and all, but the EU and Google think that we might be
1:20 getting a little bit ahead of ourselves with it. The new leadership of the EU
1:23 are drafting a document that would propose banning the use of facial
1:26 recognition in public spaces for up to 5 years until proper regulations can be
1:32 put in place to minimize the risks of using the technology. Google actually
1:36 agrees with CEO Sundar Pachai saying at a conference in Brussels that there
1:40 should perhaps be a waiting period while governments figure out how to avoid
1:45 letting facial recognition undermine civil liberties and potentially
1:48 discriminate against people because of algorithmic bias. But Microsoft,
1:53 they're having none of that. Probably because they're the ones working on the
1:57 technology. Chief legal officer Brad Smith compared a ban to using a meat
2:02 cleaver instead of a scalpel to solve the problem, saying that the only way to
2:05 make the tech better is to actually continue developing it. And while that
2:09 makes some sense, this guy was also just talking about meat cleavers a second
2:13 ago. I don't know if he can be trusted. Scary. And a report claims to have
2:18 evidence that the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Salman, hacked the
2:22 phone of Amazon and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos. Bezos commissioned FTI
2:27 Consulting to make a report after he became suspicious of a video bin Salman
2:31 sent to him over WhatsApp in 2018. FTI
2:35 found that shortly after Bezos received the video, his phone started uploading
2:39 unprecedented volumes of data to an unknown source, indicating that the
2:43 video file was infected with some sort of malware. Some analysts believe Bezos
2:48 was hacked because of the Washington Post's coverage of Saudi Arabia, which
2:52 was sometimes less than favorable. Go
2:55 figure. The scandal has gained enough steam to prompt a call for investigation
2:59 from human rights experts at the UN. So hopefully we'll get more information
3:02 about what exactly happened soon. Just
3:06 goes to show you guys be careful about opening attachments even when they come
3:10 from heads of state. Actually, I guess especially when they come from heads of
3:13 state of Saudi Arabia. Now it's time for
3:16 Quickbits brought to you by Vessie Footwear, which I'm wearing right now
3:21 because they're awesome. Can you see that?
3:26 First off, they're 100% waterproof.

4:04 or at the link below. They also make you faster. No, they don't.
4:09 Hey, what? Sorry, what's that? Don't
4:12 No, it's just quibbley bibbles. I guess the federal government of Germany
4:16 doesn't watch Techlink and didn't get our recommendation to upgrade to Windows
4:20 10 because they now have to pay Microsoft €800,000
4:25 in fees for Windows 7 extended security updates just this year. To be fair, I'm
4:32 sure it is hard to upgrade over 33,000 workstations, but also, you know, hey,
4:37 we could probably do it. You know, Germany, call us up. Epic collab, right?
4:42 most ambitious crossover Marvel Avengers. Yeah, that's right.
4:46 Thanks to some sneaky internet dwellers, we've gotten one of the most thrilling
4:50 leaks you could ever lay eyes on. Pictures of the back of the Xbox Series
4:55 X. The most thrilling leaks. Wow. That's right. Look at those ports.
4:58 There's USB, Ethernet, HDMI, and a big
5:02 old mystery port probably for diagnostics or firmware updates. Wow.
5:07 All those years I thought the Xbox Series X was going to be just the
5:11 another console. I guess even I, the one
5:15 and only Lionus, can truly be wrong. Wow.
5:19 Microsoft is being a little bit sneaky themselves. Reddit users have spotted a
5:23 change in the Office 365 Pro Plus installer, which businesses use to
5:27 install Office. Go figure. That would inject a Chrome extension that changes
5:32 the default search engine to Bing.
5:37 Gross. Code has also been found in the latest Windows Insider build that would
5:41 make ads for Office pop up inside Wordpad. You wrote that. That's not too
5:46 bad. That's terrible. No, that's you. You wrote that.
5:49 I DID NOT WRITE THAT. You wrote the script.
5:53 No, I am. Do I look like Ron Burgundy to
5:56 you? A little bit. Oh, there he is. GM
5:59 self-driving startup Cruz has shown off the Origin, an electric shuttle ban SUV
6:06 thing with sliding doors and completely symmetrical ends. It is purpose-built to
6:10 be autonomous and intended for use by ride sharing companies. Launch price,
6:15 who knows? But it looks futuristic and not as dumb as a Cybert truck. So, wow,
6:20 exciting. That's a good point. And Apple may be gearing up to launch the successor to
6:24 the iPhone SE in March to serve the small but still there contingent of
6:29 iPhone users who like using phones that are slightly smaller than the average
6:34 purse. And that's it for tech news today. But wait, don't go anywhere. You
6:38 have to click subscribe first. Not on this channel. I don't care about that. Go subscribe to Lena's Tech Tips. It's
6:42 almost AT 10 MILLION. COME ON, GUYS. IT'S EXCITING. TRUE.
6:45 YEAH. OKAY, I'll allow it. Thanks, Rally.
