now as I mentioned in my Intruder unboxing and first look so this is uh
0:12
this is what I claimed was probably the most flexible headset I'd ever
0:16
encountered in terms of input options um I'm quickly becoming a fan of teeken
0:21
motion products so teeken Motion makes predominantly headsets and this one
0:25
right here is called the Airhead 1000 although uh you know we'll have to
0:28
evaluate it to find out if you'd have to be an airhead to buy one
0:33
ha um so it's a wireless headset it runs on 2.4 GHz it has an included USB dongle
0:39
it is adjustable and I certainly hope so as any headset this day should probably
0:42
be adjustable features media controls on the left ear cup supports Windows Media
0:47
Player iTunes and Real Player so yes it supports iTunes that means it does
0:51
support both PC and mac oh look at this
0:54
aha wow they really stepped up their packaging game as well media controls
0:58
foldable connection to a yes it is compatible with PC and Macintosh okay
1:03
what else we got here rechargeable lithium battery so the battery is included for your convenience and I am
1:09
having a hard time it seems like the
1:12
more elegantly designed the packages the more difficulty I have opening it
1:17
because I usually haven't seen that kind before so the battery is included you
1:21
don't have to worry about changing it or
1:24
recharging well okay you have to worry about recharging it yes it comes with a
1:28
you know an unobtainium battery that lasts forever uh so yeah you do have to
1:32
worry about charging it but it's not like you know Beats by Dr Dre where you
1:35
you got like these AAA batteries that for whatever reason they run off of
1:39
although I don't know if the newer SKS do but certainly the original one that I
1:42
looked at did chat application for VIP experience although you're probably
1:46
going to want to use whatever other chat application you already use USB powered
1:50
so you can power them by USB if you don't happen to have the battery charged
1:54
up and a 3 and half mil line out for your speakers or a second headset now
1:58
that is cool
2:01
huh you know what okay hold on a minute guys I'll be back in a sec so this
2:05
headset is actually the answer to a problem that I have had in the past so
2:10
when I tried to look for a product that supported dual wireless headsets uh with
2:15
the same audio input source I ended up with this thing from uh the source and
2:21
it's a total piece of crap it wasn't that expensive which is fortunate but
2:25
these are incredibly heavy and Incredibly uncomfortable so you see how
2:29
the ear cups uh they look kind of soft and they look okay but this is rock hard
2:34
this is not that much padding and this is not the same size as an ear so the
2:39
whole thing sits and mushes on your ears and you can feel the plastic right
2:43
through it they're absolutely horrible audio quality sucks etc etc but it was
2:48
the only solution I could find that did
2:51
that it seems like an obvious thing right you might want to you know uh you
2:55
might live with other people and you want to watch TV late at night or whatever and you want to watch with two
3:00
people and uh and not disturb anybody so
3:04
there you go so this could be the solution with that audio output for a
3:08
second pair of headphones and instead of a huge transmitter that looks like this
3:15
this is what it looks like awesome works with your PC or Macy okay so let's have
3:20
a look at the included
3:27
cables here we go so 3 half
3:31
mil uh USB power 3 and 1 12 mil to RCA adapter
3:38
really they do a great job of including all the cables you need and look at this a USB extension cable too it's
3:43
phenomenal okay now let's have a look at the headset itself so you can see it is
3:46
quite adjustable as they mentioned so it pivots here and then it also pivots oh
3:52
no it doesn't pivot there oh yeah pivots a little bit here and then mostly here
3:56
so there you go uh the left and the right earphones are are labeled
4:01
definitely significantly more padding on this one than the one I just showed you
4:05
it has a microphone right here it's a stubby microphone so uh it doesn't
4:09
extend or anything like that hopefully it picks up your voice okay power is
4:13
here let's go ahead and see if it's no probably isn't charged out of the box
4:17
and then we've got DC input here there you go that's where you're
4:21
going to do your charging as well as your ah there
4:26
there's your auxiliary headphone jack cool and then on the other side we've
4:31
got the ID button so we're going to have to look up what that does we've got
4:34
track forward and backwards as well as
4:38
oh look at that buttons on here too so
4:41
play pause volume up volume down and stop so you got pretty much everything
4:46
you could need on that ear cup this band is
4:50
adjustable there you go just like that I hope the lighting is okay got this one
4:54
kind of pointed wrong there we go hopefully you guys can see that a little bit better overall build quality is
4:59
pretty darn good so we got kind of a soft touch feel going on here on the
5:02
outside where these buttons are so it'll be quite comfortable the rest of it is
5:06
more of just a hard plastic and then we have a soft touch on the top with quite
5:10
a soft rubber here so I don't know how comfortable they're going to be yet but
5:14
let's give them a shot they're very very lightweight which is also a really good
5:18
thing compared to those other ones I just showed you which were not
5:21
lightweight and the lightweight really helps to keep it from uh weighing down
5:26
pressing down on your head even though the band is quite hard I'd say they
5:29
could have used a little bit of cushioning there uh they sit on my ears
5:33
a lot more comfortably than the other ones I can't feel the plastic through
5:36
them although they're not as comfortable as I'd like but a big part of the
5:40
problem could be the fact that I wear large earrings so those earrings get in
5:44
the way a little bit and that's where I can actually feel the pressure points
5:48
not from the ear pads themselves so if you don't have your earrings in then
5:52
it's probably not as much of an issue these are quite convenient to reach uh
5:56
rather these ones there we go I can feel the tactile response of the button buttons and
6:02
uh yeah I should I guess I'll have to give these a
6:06
try so rumbles helped me spend some time auditioning the Airhead 1000 headset see
6:13
here's him with an airhead 1000 headset
6:18
on he's adorable as you can plainly see
6:22
apparently he's stuck there you go honey uh so after I've spent some time with
6:27
them I mean my general feedback is fairly simple so number one is I was
6:31
absolutely Blown Away by how much base these things deliver um I guess I
6:36
shouldn't have been that surprised given that says right on the box that they have 40 mil drivers in them I was not
6:41
particularly impressed with the highs or the mids so you know you're not going to
6:45
be doing any serious music listening on these although you should have known
6:48
that already just looking at them they're not going to be an audio file
6:51
level headset they're more of a convenience type of thing lightweight uh
6:55
fairly good range from the base station in theory although we're going to test that in a minute uh driver setup was a
7:01
snap all I did was plug in the USB dongle and it was done as soon as I
7:06
pressed the pairing button on the back of the headset what else is there to really say
7:10
about it yeah they'd be great for movies great for games uh like I said not
7:14
particularly ideal for uh for music although I'm going to turn them on with
7:18
music and I guess you guys can come with me and we'll see how far away we can get
7:22
from the base station before we run out of uh operation little range here so
7:28
just going to kick this stuff out of my way so it's plugged into the back of my
7:32
computer here which is about as much interference as it could possibly have
7:36
near it so we'll bring the cat with
7:39
us I apologize for the general mess
7:43
going on in my house right now this is not the only project I have on the go at
7:48
the moment so let's head uh
7:53
downstairs still working but we're not that far away actually we're going to
7:56
head into the kitchen
8:01
like there's always ah there we go so oh oh it's intermittent now so it's
8:07
intermittent with several walls actually if you kind of look up at this angle no
8:12
well yeah up the stairs but if you look like up here you could they I'm
8:17
pointing there you go that way so you can see there's actually some fairly
8:21
thick walls and floors in between me and the uh and the transmitter so there you
8:26
go that's how it works and Rumble say say bye to the viewer
