0:07 welcome to an unboxing and First Look of something that I'm very very excited
0:12 about this is the phobia LED flex light
0:16 now we've seen stuff like this before
0:19 it's an LED light strip it plugs in Via Molex you can light your computer with
0:25 it blah blah blah computer unique piece
0:28 of art etc etc Etc integrated powerfully
0:31 light Etc okay no no no no no this is
0:34 very exciting so this is available in a variety of different color
0:39 configurations and lengths so you can get them in 30 cm 60 cm 120 CM 240 CM so
0:46 this is anywhere from pretty short to immensely long RGB warm white white blue
0:52 green red UV yes unlike other competing products
0:57 on the market these phobia LED light strips are available in UV these also
1:03 appear to be of the waterproof variety although don't quote me on that but
1:07 they're they come in casings that why am I holding it up to that camera I should
1:11 be holding it up to the decent camera operated by someone who knows what they're doing um this is the uh so you
1:18 can see there's a silicone seal around two cap pieces on either end so even the
1:23 one with the wire coming into it seems to have some kind of a seal going on
1:26 however you can see those wires are somewhat bare so I don't know that would
1:30 necessarily take this and submerge it in coolant immediately
1:35 although you know what why don't we just not test that that's not really what we
1:40 do on this show getting ourselves sort of fried you know we weren't done with
1:43 the close-up look though actually come back so this is an extremely high
1:46 quality sleeving being used on here even though the wires inside are colored you
1:51 can not see the color of the wires which
1:54 is pretty darn impressive have you got a nice closeup of that diesel all right
1:58 awesome and then plugs in Via a three pin adapter oh cool so you can power
2:03 them off a fan cable this is something I haven't seen before that's outstanding
2:07 so you can run these to every corner of your case without actually running wires
2:11 and then it just includes an adapter that's a sleeve nice beautifully sleeved
2:15 four pin Molex to other more different Molex so you can daisy chain them that
2:19 will also power one of the LED strips so we're going to go ahead and plug this
2:23 bad boy in to a system here so let's go ahead and click the thing and remember
2:29 guys always power the system down before plugging in any accessories or
2:33 peripherals because this can reduce the risk of shorting out components or
2:37 anything else sort of generally bad happening remember guys do as I say not
2:41 as I do all right there we have it so
2:46 guys for those of you who think wow the cameras really don't pick up that light
2:49 very well but trust me it's here I'm just going to put this down so that uh
2:54 maybe the the half decent camera operator can have a look at it remember
2:57 guys UV lights are not purple lights
3:00 they are UV lights they're not intended to cast a particular color in your case
3:06 but they are by Nature somewhat purple looking these are extremely bright and I
3:10 am super stoked on getting these installed uh in my case I'm a bit of a
3:15 UV nut now they look kind of pink in the
3:18 uh in the video we're taking right now but don't mind that that's actually not
3:22 how they look in person they do look more purple I'm about to cut across the
3:26 camera so that I can turn off the lights so I can give you guys some idea how
3:30 they're reacting with the yeah thanks lick with some of the UV reactive
3:35 components we have here so this is one of those old DFI land party cables so
3:40 I'm going to go ahead and show you guys what that looks like under the UV light
3:44 so without the UV light you can see it doesn't look like a whole lot well that
3:47 now it's completely dark good work guys there we go so UV light shows that the
3:52 uh the yellow cable lights up like a beast uh this is sort of a pink ninja
3:57 star thing that I uh I got as sort of a
4:00 gag gift at one point so that's lighting up extremely nicely even at a distance
4:04 so I'm holding it about 15 cm away this
4:07 is in complete pitch Blackness from the UV components that I have here and it's
4:12 still lighting them up quite well this is about 30 cm away so we're still
4:16 getting a fair amount of light on them in fact I'd say diesel should probably
4:20 if there's a way bump up the uh to to represent more like what it looks like
4:24 in real life yeah that's probably more like what it's looking like in real life
4:27 right now there we go so these are are some swifttech coils from back in the
4:31 day when they made those so that's that's an extreme that's at 30 cm away
4:36 guys and then finally over here we've got some primoflex uh LRT tubing so
4:42 these this uh tubing isn't as glowy as sort of some tubing out there but if you
4:47 get a little bit closer so this is at about 15 cm away you can see it's got a
4:51 pretty strong UV effect there and last but not least on the motherboard behind
4:56 me here I have one of Intel's uh blue
4:59 SATA cables that they include with their U with their older badax boards I think
5:04 that's where I got this thing and you can see that that's quite UV reactive as
5:08 well so what's exciting about this guys
5:11 is the fact that here let's switch to the other camera let's see how this goes
5:15 oh and the lights are all dead now that really didn't work very well at all I
5:19 was planning to point the UV light at myself in order to sort of have some
5:24 light on myself that would look somewhat good um the exciting thing about this is
5:29 like UV cathodes we are not limited to
5:32 having to have stiff tubes so you can run them into the little nooks and
5:37 crannies of your case also they're powered by 12vt so you don't have to
5:41 deal with having inverters which are quite large to convert from DC to AC
5:45 power all over your case in order to get UV lighting they're Slimmer profile
5:49 which means again you can fit them into places that you can't do with cathodes
5:53 and also they are much less likely to die over time every cathode I've ever
5:59 bought and that's like at least 30 has
6:03 either died or faded over time especially the UV ones because the UV
6:08 light causes the glue to break down at the ends and so the the square pieces at
6:12 the ends actually just start coming off after you've had them running for about
6:15 a year so it's just not a very good user experience I am hoping that these led
6:21 versions will be significantly better and when I redo my personal build which
6:24 is coming soon I am definitely going to be using these instead of cathodes based
6:28 on the experience I've had with them here don't forget to subscribe to lus

6:35 enjoyed this one
