today we're going to be doing a quick unboxing of a pretty neat little product
0:04
from think flood so this is the red eye mini this is a new one it's a mini
0:08
version of the original red eye which we are not going to look at except only
0:12
briefly there we're going to focus on the mini today so you can see it's
0:15
pretty self-explanatory universal remote for iPhone iPod touch and iPad well that
0:20
doesn't actually really explain much if you don't know what this product does
0:24
already so we're going to do the unboxing really quickly there it's
0:27
unboxed that was it okay so inside we
0:30
will find the red ey mini which is here
0:34
with the infrared uh transmitter on the
0:37
front of it and then a headphone jack on the other end that's it that's the whole
0:42
thing and then this is cool check this out so this is what makes it mini and
0:47
portable this is a little carrying case that you go ahead and you throw on your
0:51
keychain you know put that in there and now all of a sudden your iPhone or iPod
0:56
or iPad is now a universal remote that you can carry with with you anywhere
1:01
pretty neat okay so let's talk about what makes the Mini cool so first of all
1:06
it comes down to their software so the
1:09
the red eye software is something that you can download for free to your iPod
1:13
or iPad it allows you to uh customize
1:16
the layout it allows you to use the full multi-touch capabilities of the iPod
1:21
iPad okay I'm going to say iPhone because that's what I have um so it's
1:25
the iPhone so you can actually change the channel by scrolling right change
1:29
the channel by scrolling scrolling left you can adjust the volume by scrolling up and down you have the ability to
1:34
access their database of codes you can actually learn from your existing
1:38
remotes so before you before you lose them to just quickly learn it on your on
1:43
your eye device and then you won't have to worry about finding it anymore ever I
1:48
think you can customize the actual button layouts no I know you can customize the button layouts but I don't
1:52
know if I said it yet and it comes with its own carrying case no batteries
1:56
required and since it plugs into the headphone jack you we've actually still
2:00
got access and I'm just going to show you guys what it looks like when you
2:04
plug it in so it's not the kind of thing that you'd leave plugged in permanently
2:07
obviously but um you know you plug it in
2:10
to use it and then it actually leaves your
2:14
charging port completely unobstructed at
2:17
the bottom so you can actually charge it and then use this at the same time now
2:22
it looks like you're going to have to watch out for um for case compatibility
2:27
cuz this this is cameraman's iPhone and uh he's got a case that looks like it's
2:31
going to interfere with plugging it in fully whereas I'm just using a sticker
2:35
and uh yeah I'm not having any clearance problems with that so depending what
2:39
kind of a case you're using on your iPhone that's what it's going to look like with the red eyee mini installed so
2:44
I'm obviously going to have to do some testing with this device but they
2:47
advertise that it'll work awesome with pretty much any device including your TV
2:52
your DVD player your cable box anything that accepts an infrared signal from
2:57
your remote control so stay tuned for more videos online as Tech tips and
3:01
including about this but unboxings reviews all that good stuff and I just
3:05
want to ask you guys a question does anybody already have a red eye or a
3:10
device like this and if you do what do you think of it
