great technology selection and service along with Corsair memory and Western
0:09
Digital now my biggest criticism of Corsair's innovation in the case Market
0:14
has to be the fact that they still haven't come out with a four-door model
0:19
they all have two doors now they moved a little bit more towards the direction of
0:24
addressing the needs of people who want more doors on their cases with the 250d
0:28
over there but this while it doesn't necessarily deal with that one complaint
0:32
does address a complaint I didn't have and that is that cases need to be more
0:38
seethrough okay now I've given you a totally sarcastic intro here but
0:42
honestly I love this thing George tell us about the 760t with this full
0:48
windowed side panel and and you you got to walk us through this a little bit
0:51
here all right cool uh like you mentioned this is graphite series 76t uh
0:54
it's a full tower case it's based on the awardwinning 750 one of the cool things
0:58
about it like you mentioned is that full side pen window but that's just kind of
1:01
the Cosmetic uh part of it so it's hinged so you can just open it really
1:05
easily and get into your parts access really easy real quick and it's hinged
1:09
on a pin so you just want to pull it off it comes right off and you can take care
1:12
of it and put it away so it doesn't get scratched while you're working on your system the nice thing about the inside
1:16
of it Excuse me while I put you put that over there okay so the nice thing about
1:20
the inside of it is actually it maintains almost all the 750d features
1:23
you have dual 140 mm front fans with a 280 or 240 mm radiator Mount you have a
1:27
360 mm mount on top you you have a 140 in the back you can put a single 120 on
1:32
the bottom those side mounted ssds that everyone really liked on the 750 or back
1:36
and then the removable and relocatable hard drive cages are there so this case
1:40
has nine expansion slots so it's a true full tower as well it's really solid
1:44
performance- wise and it looks really good too that full window gives you the
1:47
ability to show off your full system and we've just put some Corsair link lighting stuff in there to show off the
1:51
lighting capabilities now to be there's a couple things that I want to talk
1:55
about that you didn't necessarily touch on and that is a I love 750d I think
1:58
it's a great layout and the fact that it now has a more aggressive looking
2:02
aesthetic I mean not everyone is going to like this better that's the cold hard
2:06
truth but they don't have to now that there's a more aggressive looking
2:09
aesthetic option for the people who don't like the clean lines as much as they like the bling I think that's
2:14
fantastic and something you guys can't see but we'll get you some b-roll footage of is the fact that there's
2:19
actually an acrylic panel on the other side as well so that one's not
2:24
see-through so you don't have to see all the cable management behind it but it
2:27
gives it a more uh balanced aesthetic so how long has this one been in the pipe
2:32
we've been working on this since about a year to 15 months so about a little over
2:37
a little under a year and a half um one of the things we thought of was we needed to come up with a new full tower
2:41
chassis so 750d was the basis for it but then we know we had to to come up with a
2:45
couple different variants tooling up a a base chassis is very expensive so we
2:49
know that not Everyone likes the obsidian style ID so we wanted to dress
2:52
it up a little bit with some other designs so this is one of the other designs we've been working on is the 760
2:57
now normally I I object to to a a very
3:00
very large window but I think you guys are getting away with it here because of
3:04
the excellent cable management and because of the good looks of the inside
3:08
and you know what guys think about this for a moment when you see a really cool
3:12
build how often is it that you know like say for example a fractal Define r for
3:16
build how often is it that you see people do their finished shot with the
3:20
side panel off because the cable management looks so good or whatever it
3:24
is that they did well that's what this looks like all the time with the
3:28
complete like you kind of tell we took the window off so there's a little latch
3:31
here and then because it's made of Plexi it's obviously not that structurally
3:36
strong compared to a piece of metal but there are magic pieces here and here
3:40
also known as magnets that allow it to stay in place and still maintain that
3:45
fleshiness that looks good I think you guys did a really great job on this one
3:48
uh thanks very much George for walking us through it is there any other crazy
3:51
stuff in here that you'd like to just kind of point at and say hey this might be cool as well um just the the fact
3:56
that we have ton of clearance up here for taller radiators too I meant that
3:59
power supply power supply oh yeah by the way power supply this is a prototype of
4:03
the ax 1500i power supply uh the 1500i
4:06
is kind of like the 1,200 with a couple of big changes obviously there's more power to it but the other side of it is
4:11
it's now uh what would be the draft of the titanium spec so the 80 plus
4:14
titanium spec doesn't exist right now but there's kind of a draft of it and
4:18
this meets that draft spec so kind of like you were mentioning draft end
4:22
routers or you know draft AC or whatever it was now it's it's kind of the draft
4:26
spec of the titanium certified efficiency um the other side of it is we
4:29
we went out and said we wanted power SP to be even quieter with RM we got them
4:33
down to a really low noise level by actually hand selecting electrical
4:36
components oh I get it so draft means you have air flow all the time rather
4:41
than actually oh wait hold on maybe I've misunderstood no exactly not that yeah
4:45
no um basically the premise is that uh that there are other things inside your
4:50
power supply that cause noise besides the fan and we had fan lless modes on power supplies for a long time um one of
4:54
the things that people notice when the fan isn't spinning is you can sometimes hear an electrical Buzz or coil line and
4:59
things like that so with r&m series we actually spent a year figuring out how
5:02
to hand select each little component so you wouldn't get electrical noise and
5:05
that's been brought to this series as well so all new HX and ax level power
5:09
supplies RM and up basically everything will have the hand selected components
5:13
to cut down on coil Buzz wine and all that stuff like that so it's actually
5:17
it's coil lne and and Buzz stuff like that is not actually usually coils
5:22
sometimes it's a number of other components but it's being called coil
5:26
wine by the industry because just kind of that's a catchall term but we've cut
5:30
it down to almost zero this system right now is running even though there's four
5:33
280s in it it's running only three of them in crossfire because one of them
5:36
fried itself overnight so that's probably our fault but anyway it's
5:40
running three system in crossfire did you just say that it's probably our
5:43
fault yeah um it's uh I think someone Zapped it when they opened the side
5:48
panel but uh so one of them is not actually running it's just there for
5:51
cosmetic purposes like the fourth stack on that Titanic um poor metaphor for AMD
5:56
but anyway uh this is a uh running 3
5:59
280s and it's running a a six core processor
6:02
everything's running full load furmark uh Prime 95 is running crazy we're doing
6:07
about 600 watts of output right now so it's only about you know kind of a
6:11
little between a third and a half of its Max load and it's doing no fan at all
6:16
right now so you're doing 600 watts completely fanless three 280s and a
6:21
fully pegged processor uh x79 Sandy Bridge e fanless so that's kind of one
6:27
of the nice features of a 1500 wat power supply is yeah it's expensive you have
6:30
that head room for, 1500 watts but even if you're running a what is a ridiculous
6:34
system that almost nobody I know would actually build uh you can run that
6:37
fanless so pretty nice setup for the power supply very cool thank you very
6:41
much George for taking the time as always it's an absolute pleasure and
6:45
thank you very much for showing us this uh surprisingly interesting one it
6:49
really caught my eye when I walked in the room cool thanks man all right guys don't miss any of our CES 2014 coverage
6:55
remember our trip to the show this year is powered by nc.com as well as has our
7:00
other two show sponsors Corsair and Western Digital so huge thanks to all of
7:04
those guys for allowing us to be here and see their products and talk about
7:08
their products for them imagine them wanting us to be here and do
7:12
that who knew
