0:00 this is going to be one of those unboxings where basically I'm just gushing the whole time because this is
0:06 something that we should have had ages ago but it took until now for Ben Q to
0:13 pull the trigger and develop this product this is the ew
0:19 2420 this is an LED back lit LCD
0:23 monitor okay none of that sounds very interesting yet but I assure you we're
0:28 getting there we're getting there it is a 24 inch
0:34 monitor and I would love to get this
0:38 tape off see this is what happens when I
0:41 get distracted talking about the product you know then I can't even open a box
0:46 all right there we
0:49 go I'm just excited sorry okay so I'll
0:52 say very little until we actually have it open here all right this is a 1920
0:59 X10 0 monitor 1080P and there goes the stand
1:04 which I hope is still
1:12 okay and I still haven't given away the secret yet of why this is so interesting
1:17 and why this is so exciting well I'll tell you now because this is a VA panel
1:24 with an LED backlight so this is pretty
1:28 much the first legitimately premium monitor that we've
1:33 seen with an LED backlight because LED backlighting is is fine and good you
1:38 know it uh it gives you better color repoduction it gives you better overall
1:42 brightness it gives you better Energy Efficiency it's a very good thing but
1:48 here we go the world's first VA LED
1:51 monitor but VA gives you better color
1:56 reproduction a wide viewing angle and a
2:00 generally more
2:03 pleasing viewing experience so you
2:06 combine those two things together and all of a sudden you've got just a crazy
2:14 product now I realize it doesn't look all that special because the bezel
2:21 design is quite straightforward you know it's just it's very slick it's very
2:26 functional you know it doesn't have a lot of the Bells and
2:30 like height adjustable stand uh swivel all that stuff but if what you're
2:34 looking for is a Valu priced LED backlit
2:38 VA panel monitor this is it it's got a
2:42 couple HDMI inputs so you've got all the features that
2:46 matter okay there's like wow there's like so much plastic on this thing I'm
2:50 just trying to peel it all off so I can show you what the product looks like
2:54 here why don't you just pause it for a second and so I found this in the Box
2:58 I'm not quite sure where it goes but we finally got the monitor
3:02 unplastic so we can show you all the different accessories so it comes with
3:06 this little guy who appears to be some kind of a teddy bear it obviously Clips
3:10 onto the monitor somewhere but I can't I can't quite find where it goes and I'm
3:14 not going to concern myself too much with it comes with a power cable comes
3:18 with a USB A2B cable for the built-in four port USB hub you've also got an
3:23 audio cable because yes this thing has everything it has all the Practical
3:27 features so it has built-in speakers you see the right there and we can also see
3:31 all of the inputs so I'm just going to lean over so that I can actually point
3:35 to all the uh all the relevant things so we've got our two HDMI inputs one DVI
3:40 input one VGA input benq's only included a VGA cable with this particular monitor
3:46 so if you are buying it make sure you grab a DVI cable or an HDMI cable
3:50 there's your usbb in two USB ports then
3:53 moving onto the side of the monitor we have two more USB ports and a headphone
3:57 jack that's cool too because now all of a sudden you've got your speakers on
4:01 your monitor you don't want your speakers you plug in your headphones right in the side of your monitor I
4:04 actually haven't seen that before so that's outstanding all of your onscreen
4:08 display controls are over here on the right hand side of the monitor so I'm
4:12 assuming oh yeah the labels are on the front so you got your uh auto adjust
4:17 menu up down as well as enter or select
4:20 so that's the confirm button just want to come around and have a look at the
4:24 back so it's quite slick looking actually you got your glossy plastic
4:27 here which matches the front and you've got kind of a a leathered look on the
4:31 plastic right at the back you got your four uh screw holes for the Visa Mount
4:35 so if you wanted to ARM mount this or mount it however it is that you want to
4:39 do it then that is where you would do that here's a little Cable Management
4:45 clip all right and then there's a little piece here that covers up a gray part of
4:49 the stand and uh oh yeah let's just go
4:52 through sort of the last thing so here's what they have to say for themselves
4:55 about it wide viewing angle with truly authentic colors as I said V a Panel LED
5:01 backlight best of every possible world
5:05 then we've got a it's a true 8 bit panel so once again that's more color depth
5:09 better good 8 millisecond grade to grade response time very respectable but bear
5:14 in mind that VA panels will never be as fast as TN panels for strictly gaming so
5:20 if you don't give two Hoots about your image quality and all you want is the
5:23 fastest possible panel then a VA panel is not really the answer for you
5:27 although personally I would never compromise
5:30 the better image quality that you get from a VA or an IPS panel versus a TN
5:35 panel up here we have 11 multimedia connections which we've already had a
5:39 look at and dual 1.5 watt built-in speakers which we've already looked at
5:43 so this is a very cool product I am very happy to present it to you today and oh
5:48 actually here's another thing to talk about this isn't quite a glossy screen
5:52 it's kind of uh it's kind of a hybrid it's not quite flat but it's not quite
5:56 that mirror reflection glossy either one of the reasons those glossy screens
6:00 showed up in the first place and this is my conjecture I don't know this for sure
6:03 but is because everyone was cheaping out on the panels and laptops so they were
6:07 using cheap otn panels so they were like okay well how can I make the colors look
6:11 vibrant put a glossy screen on it there you go um so really there are very very
6:16 few highquality panel monitors that use glossy screens because it's not
6:20 necessary because they're capable of producing all those colors all that
6:23 Vibrance all that Christmas on their own just fine so that would be why it
6:28 doesn't have one
