0:00 today's product unboxing is going to be rather interesting this is the pulse
0:04 Wave 2 PC gaming headset it is according
0:07 to the manufacturer the most versatile
0:10 gaming headset ever made for PC you can change modes on the Fly between USB 7.1
0:15 or stereo you have evidently Dynamic Master Control where I think they're
0:20 referring to this uh USB sound card right here okay virtual 7.1 surround
0:25 featuring Sonic force feedback so these are not only USB powered in terms of the
0:29 amplification and the sound card and the
0:33 headphones themselves but they are also USB powered in the sense that they
0:38 vibrate yes they have vibration effects so you can feel the explosions also
0:43 featuring a detachable microphone so this is made by Tekken motion and let's
0:47 move around to the side where we can find out o pulsating blue green and red
0:51 lights vibration effects which we covered already stereo virtual 7.1
0:55 surround so yes it it should be noted this is virtual 7.1 surround okay we
1:00 have a padded headband which obviously we'll find out once we open it up let's
1:03 see okay well here's some specs that you guys may or may not be interested in you
1:06 can always pause it and read the specs should you so
1:11 desire there you go all right
1:14 compatibility okay so oh works with Windows XP Vista and Windows 7 iPod and
1:20 MP3 players any audio device with a 32
1:23 mm in so that's interesting so it has the versatility to not only be a USB
1:29 headset and but also to come in a box or a
1:33 blister pack whichever you should prefer
1:37 so I guess I get to do two unboxings well first of all one thing we find
1:41 inside the box here is a driver install
1:45 disc with the user manual on the disc so you might not want to throw that away
1:48 since it clearly has a user manual on it but the drivers I would definitely
1:52 recommend downloading the latest from the C Media or teeken motion website C
1:57 media is the chipset maker of on
2:00 board sound card on the
2:07 USB audio control device here okay so what do we got well we' got some
2:13 packaging that clearly needs to come away all right there we go we've
2:19 got whatever this is which I guess we
2:23 will find out in a while some kind of USB something or other that's for sure
2:28 okay on or off
2:32 USB port wow interesting it comes with
2:37 double-sided Velcro so you can apparently attach that to something okay
2:41 so let's go ahead and take this off I may need that there manual on the
2:47 disc okay let's go ahead take out our control inline
2:51 controls okay let put away my keys
2:55 here and let's have a look at the pulse
2:58 wave to PC gaming headset so actually
3:02 let's start with the Jacks that we have so there is our USB
3:12 Jack you know what I'm going to find out what this is first I'll be just a moment
3:17 all right so the user manual reveals this to be an external battery power
3:21 pack so you go ahead and you put four aaa's in there you turn it on okay then
3:27 you can use the pulse Wave 2 to its full
3:30 extent even if you're plugged into say for example an MP3 player so you just go
3:35 ahead okay you plug this guy into
3:41 here okay so then it's powered and then you plug this green Jack into your mp3
3:46 player or any other portable audio device and you can get the vibration
3:50 effects which are triggered by bass as well as the pulsating lights on the side
3:54 of the headset even if you are not plugged in
3:59 to your PC so that's pretty cool all
4:03 right actually hold on I missed something in here I missed the detachable mic which is here okay so
4:08 let's have a look at the overall unit okay so we're using pretty standard cord
4:12 although it seems to be fairly thick gauge which is good we got our uh
4:16 microphone as well as our headphone Jacks all
4:20 right we can also plug in via USB to the
4:23 back of the PC and we can use it as a USB sound card okay so using the control
4:30 pod here all you have to do is switch between USB and standard mode so you're
4:36 just basically selecting which input you want to accept a signal from so if you
4:40 put it in USB mode then your computer will detect it as a c media audio device
4:44 if you put it in standard mode stereo mode whatever you want to call it then
4:48 you're just going to use your analog Jacks you can use your onboard sound card so this is a complaint that I've
4:52 had about usb uh headsets in the past
4:55 and that is that if you have a decent sound card there's pretty much no point
4:58 using a USB headset because your sound card is probably better so in this case
5:03 you can use the USB for like if you're running on your laptop or whatever where
5:07 usually the onboard is terrible and then you can switch over to these if you're
5:10 on your desktop and you have a better sound card so that's kind of Handy okay Vibe on USB on you can mute your mic
5:15 with this button right here got volume controls as well as Vibe controls and
5:20 this one two three thing here I believe these are base modes I'm just going to
5:25 double check that ah yeah yes so sub mode one is
5:32 lights only sub mode two is lights and vibration and sub mode three is
5:37 vibration only so that basically refers to how the pulse wave to the uh the
5:43 vibrators as well as the lights on the side are going to response to base
5:48 signals that are being sent to them so I'm going to go ahead I'm going to attach the detachable mic
5:54 here okay there we are so you can see it's quite flexible put that wherever
5:59 you need to put it you can put it like you know up here in your forehead if you
6:03 felt like it sounds pretty useful also comes off so you can tuck it away or you
6:08 can just leave it attached all the time which is probably what someone like me
6:11 would do so you just go put it like that then come down like this okay we've got
6:15 a pley material on the inside of the ear
6:20 cups right just some foam here you can't really see the drivers themselves
6:24 unfortunately I do like to show you guys that when I can you can see there's
6:27 quite a range of flexibility so no matter what the shape of your head is
6:31 should be able to find a fit that works for you also the headband is
6:35 adjustable so it adjusts quite a bit so if you have a very tall head that'll
6:41 work for you if you don't have a very tall head it should also work for you
6:44 okay this isn't quite as padded as I would typically like to see but it's
6:48 also not uncomfortable especially because you can adjust the size so that
6:51 it doesn't put too much pressure on you in any way shape or form also a pley
6:56 type material with foam underneath and I think that's pretty much for the overall
7:00 external Aesthetics of the headset so I'm just going to put my tripod down and
7:05 you guys I'm going to model them for you y this be a microphone and also an eye
7:10 patch no I'm just kidding it's just a microphone so you can see as I mentioned
7:14 before it is quite adjustable indeed you can put it pretty much wherever you see
7:19 fit including tucking it away over here so this is what the headset looks like
7:24 from the side they're quite open I can hear myself speaking quite easily uh
7:28 which means that not only will you be able to hear sounds uh around you and
7:33 one of the recommended uses that they have for this particular headset is to
7:37 use it in USB mode use vent trillo or whatever um speech app that you use to
7:44 map your friends voices to your headset and then you can actually still run your
7:47 speakers off your sound card so you would still be able to hear the game
7:50 sounds or rather your speakers off your sound card yeah you'd run your speakers off your sound card and then have your
7:54 game sounds mapped to that set of speakers so you can hear the voices
7:58 through your uh headphones but then you can hear all the game sounds through the
8:02 headphones outside so it's an easier way to hear your friends if you're gaming on
8:06 a team for example oh yeah one thing I haven't showed you guys yet is there is
8:09 a clip on the back of this so you could clip it somewhere should you so desire
8:13 and I guess that's pretty much it just wanted to show you guys what it looks like when it is installed on a user's
8:18 head thank you for checking out my unboxing of the pulse Wave 2 don't forget to subscribe to L techtips for
