0:00 Linus Tech tips coverage of computex 2013 is powered by Western Digital our
0:04 trusted gaming gear partner is Corsair Vengeance and our trusted retail partner
0:08 is nc.com all right guys I'm here at the noxia booth and we're here to check out
0:13 the Deep silence 6 this has a bunch of cool features and just lead us off yes
0:19 we we'll start in the front where you can see and the in the top you open the
0:22 door to the right side with four times OD you do have two channel fan control
0:27 here for three F three fans each reset button that's nice away which is
0:33 good what you have in the bottom the bottom door you have two times 140 mm
0:38 fence which just open like this and the
0:42 really really cool thing about these is as you can see just pop open and then
0:45 you can slide out a a uh filter so you
0:48 can keep these and clean them very very easily slide that back in right here and
0:53 then those screws needed for the for the fans because you just you just click
0:57 them in right there you click them in so as you you can see right here they can
1:00 click in out and click back in really easily so really really easy to install
1:04 your fans really really easy to clean the filter that's awesome it can just
1:07 click back in like that and you're good to go so that's awesome for maintenance
1:11 and origal installation yeah furthermore you expect
1:15 somewh the io panel which is hidden here got four times USB 3.0 HD audio for sure
1:22 and two times uh USB 2.0 this is very
1:25 nice because of really really large motherboards will come with dual USB three headers and Haswell motherboards
1:30 now Z87 chipsets are often coming with dual USB 3 headers so it's nice to have
1:35 the support up here and it's nice that it hides away you don't have to really
1:38 see it all the time which is actually kind of awesome now my favorite part by
1:42 far if we can turn this a little bit favorite part by far is this slider
1:47 right here yes this slider is uh based on the a Chim from the deep silence one
1:53 but uh this is the advanced or improved one because if you look at the fans of
1:58 this radiator they are not turning now but uh if you open the
2:03 roof the fence will start spinning once you close it again they will stop on
2:09 this case we have 360 Radiator in the top it's very thick one I think it's uh
2:15 50 54 mm okay uh we do have three fans
2:18 on top three fans below so six fans running on those you can adjust by uh by
2:24 the fan speed we do have 280 mm um
2:28 radiator here with the two fans we saw before right two fans at the Hard cage
2:34 on the inside yeah inside and two are more here so we're talking about 12 fans
2:40 already in the system 12 fans tons of fan controller at the top the fan
2:44 controller links into a PCB that runs this fancy mechanism here that'll turn
2:48 off and on the fans which is awesome because if you're going to start gaming
2:51 if you're going to start benchmarking if you're going to start doing something crazy you can open it upop like that the
2:56 fans will turn on but if you're just doing office work listening to music
2:59 with open headphones doing anything like that where you want your computer to be very quiet you can just close it up
3:04 really nice and easily turns off the fans it's awesome if you're water
3:07 cooling with a massive radiator like that you probably don't need the fans running all the time if you're just
3:11 doing very low-end stuff anyway so that's very cool as you can see we do
3:15 have a lot of space in here that's why we show the four BGA cards and an XL ATX
3:20 motherboard if you don't use a radiator on the hard cage you can get another
3:25 base for hard drives and you can build up up to 21 hard drives into the case so
3:30 you just have all the hard drives in existence I know I've said that already today but holy crap that's kind of
3:35 insane you can run the biggest raid you could ever need for a personal house
3:40 user in here you almost don't even need your own server at that point even if
3:43 you have insane amounts of media so that's awesome very cool throwing a raid
3:47 card in there i' would suggest if you're going to have that many hard drives because plugging that into a motherboard
3:51 I is not really going to be that great what might be very important for many of
3:55 you is uh to get the cables away from
3:59 the from the side so if you do look in here we do have about 2 and 1/2 CM space
4:05 in there this I can very easily fit my fingers in
4:10 there and curl them a bit so there's tons and tons of space I know we can't
4:13 get into the camera very easily right now but there's just me there's a ton of
4:16 space back there that's awesome do you want to cover this a little bit um this
4:20 is still under progression so um we're working on it all right all
4:25 right all right I tried I guess we're going to move on we'll show you some
4:28 more cases in the noxy Booth comment what you think about this it's really
4:32 really cool all right guys still the anoxia booth we've got an unnamed case
4:36 here actually it's it's it houses a subwoofer on the inside which is kind of
4:40 different it's coming from an oide no no no I'm kidding it just looks like home
4:44 theater equipment and it looks like a subwoofer in my opinion so I just wanted to throw that terrible joke out there
4:48 for you um what do you have to say about this case um the special on this case is
4:53 oh it falls off from E it falls off easily no uh the special in this case is
4:58 you can put on long power supplies strong for power supplies you can use
5:02 long VGA cards we're talking about mini ITX and not micro or normal ATX you can
5:09 fit in here 280 mm Radiator in the front
5:12 and into the top I don't know any other case you can do this um if not 280 you
5:18 can use 240 for sure 240 as well there
5:21 and um if you turn it around and see
5:25 very small things here can take out this hard hard drive cage install the hard
5:30 drives put it back in you can do the same on the motherboard tray just lock
5:34 at the screw take it out install the system put it back in that's very nice
5:39 for these small cases because like installing hard drives in a case this
5:42 small can be really difficult installing a motherboard in a case this small can be really difficult so it's nice to be
5:46 able to pull it out install it easily and throw it back in another thing to
5:49 note here real quick is that just on the back the power supply right now it's
5:54 it's a sample it's not named all that kind of stuff this is very new I'm very
5:57 happy that they're showing it to me the power supply will be able to be rear mounted so you don't actually have to
6:01 try and bring it in on the side here you can just put a bracket on it slide it in
6:06 from the back and screw it in you're good to go so that's actually great is
6:09 there anything else you have special about this case yes uh if you use a radiator in the top you can and you have
6:14 to exchange the top panel design to a
6:18 mesh design right so that it can actually breathe so the radiator can
6:21 breathe it off yes the same we will have on the side panel which just fall off um
6:25 you can choose whether to use the mesh function or the close function we do
6:29 have now on the top so you will have a very silent system or an airflow system
6:34 just as you want to have right so this side panel that we have right here will
6:37 be solid like the top is or you can put this mesh on it if you're going to mount
6:42 something there if you want just more air flow at all but if you want it solid
6:45 it'll be much quieter which is great thanks for showing us this case thanks
