0:05 the Corsair carbide air 540 High airflow Cube case is great for air cooling or
0:10 liquid cooling check the link in the video description to learn more now I've
0:14 recommended this mouse any number of times this is the original Razer NGA it
0:18 has 12 MMO buttons on the side the only criticism of which would be that they're
0:22 kind of mushy and kind of hard to distinguish from each other it included
0:26 little pads that you could put on them but I personally never even ended up
0:29 applying I didn't find they were that helpful um and includes an ergonomic
0:33 shape that I personally really really liked it also tracks like a dream and
0:38 I'm done gushing about the Naga because there's the Naga razors really
0:44 got to figure out their product naming scheme here because can between this one
0:48 and the Death Adder 2013 and black widow 2013 and the Death Adder was like how do
0:54 you make you know how do you improve on Perfection you don't change anything but
0:58 then it did change things and then there was no reference to it being a 2013
1:02 edition anywhere on the box except for like one little like Spot somewhere and
1:06 so this is called the Razer Naga not to be confused with the Razer Naga they're
1:11 taking the same approach it's just funny it makes perfect sense because as a
1:15 company that's all about you know Gamers and gaming they've taken a page right
1:18 out of game developers handbooks oh what should we call the new
1:22 Tomb Raider let's call it Tomb
1:26 Raider so anyway there you go that's my
1:29 rant about that what has Razer improved
1:33 about the all new Naga well they've done a couple of things that I think are a
1:37 very big deal number one is they have changed these buttons on the side to be
1:43 mechanical buttons so I want you guys to really hear the difference here I'm
1:46 going to hold it up to my lav mic original
1:50 Naga very mushy very
1:53 membran new Naga very clicky very
1:57 tactile really really like that they have also updated the ergonomics So Gone
2:02 are the two buttons right here which I never really liked anyway I had I I
2:06 rarely find myself in a situation where this is a comfortable movement for me
2:10 those were the two buttons that I really had trouble reaching and they have
2:13 instead put two buttons here these can
2:16 be actuated with the middle finger which if you use a three fingers like this
2:21 sort of orientation then at least there's that you can kind of reach I
2:25 personally have trouble with this one I don't have very flexible hands but at least now I can reach one of them
2:29 comfortably they've also added a tilt click scroll
2:32 wheel so this and this are additional functions so it now has a total of 19
2:38 buttons 12 on the side two on the top
2:41 well 1 2 3 four on the top and then an additional two here giving you like I
2:46 said well plus a middle click so that is a total of 19 buttons they have
2:52 implemented their low friction of quiet
2:56 pads on the bottom which I think is kind of unique they have also up updated the
3:00 sensor so it now uses an 88200 DPI 4G laser sensor and check this out here we
3:05 go here we go there we go there's the naming scheme this is the Razer Naga
3:10 2014 so they've gone with the car approach now where you actually buy next
3:15 year's model in the previous calendar year and that is the way it works which
3:19 isn't to take anything away from the mouse itself one thing that's improved
3:22 on the top as well that they didn't have in their kit but I can already feel is
3:27 the grippiness of this top surface here in instead of having a soft touch feel
3:31 it has a very mild lightly textured feel
3:35 that I find quite appealing and makes it less likely to slip they have also
3:39 updated the color scheme whereas the old Naga was Blue the new Naga is aligned
3:43 with the latest razor branding which is green so there you go all of the buttons
3:48 on the side are illuminated the razor logo is breathing by default although
3:51 you can reconfigure that in synapse and the mouse wheel itself looks absolutely
3:56 outstanding in green something else that they've done with the side buttons is
4:00 they've changed the shape of them significantly so you can see the way that the older ones worked you were
4:05 expected to find the difference in them simply by feeling these bumps right here
4:09 but other than that they're configured very similarly now they have changed
4:14 them significantly so some of them are arched this way some of them are arched
4:17 this way the middle Bank okay so you can I want you to see this from the side
4:21 maybe we'll do some macro footage here but they're all angled really differently in such a way that you can
4:26 really feel whether you're on pads 1 to six or pad 7 to 12 and then from there
4:32 these ones the middle ones have ridges on them that you can really you can
4:35 really feel they're kind of sharp along this Edge this Edge this Edge and this
4:39 Edge allowing you to more easily figure out what button you're actually touching
4:44 is it necessarily perfect the answer is probably no but I think it's difficult
4:48 to put 12 buttons on the side of a mouse such that you're expecting anyone to be
4:52 able to find them all In the Heat of battle without any practice but once you
4:56 have practiced I've heard people say even about the original Naga that it's
4:59 not that difficult now in terms of updated ergonomics you can see the mice
5:03 look quite different the one complaint I heard about the original Naga quite
5:06 often was it's really small which is great for me cuz my hands are small but
5:10 there wasn't much room to rest your pinky and your ring finger on it that
5:13 has been changed the naga4 has a much expanded pinky and ring
5:19 finger rest and what I really like about the pinky here was there was nowhere to
5:23 really rest it on the original Naga it was a glossy smooth surface they've
5:27 added a rubber grippy surface surface just like the Death Adder 2013 with the
5:32 rubber grips on the side I think they're a huge Improvement and I love it I don't
5:36 necessarily need to put my pinky down on something but having a rubber grip is
5:41 much more comfortable to me than trying to squeeze the mouse to have it to have
5:45 my pinky stick to it particularly when you consider that on the other side of
5:49 the mouse are a bunch of buttons so if I'm squeezing too hard here I'm going to
5:52 accidentally press them speaking of which side of the mouse okay they didn't
5:57 send me one so I'm having you look at the mouse but it's totally pointless Razer has a left-handed version of now
6:03 both of their most popular gaming mice the Death Adder as well as the Naga so
6:08 that was a crowdsourced initiative kind of thing that Razer did and I can tell
6:12 you from a business perspective it makes no sense to go through the molding and
6:16 tooling that is involved in releasing a left-handed Mouse when you consider how
6:19 few of them sell remember I worked at a retailer before I know how many of them
6:23 sell isn't very many um but for you Southpaw guys out there there you go
6:28 Razer was listening and they wanted to bring you a left-handed Mouse so kudos
6:33 to you I think that makes it the only left-handed MMO Mouse I don't believe
6:37 any of them are ambidextrous because of the way that you have to lay out MMO
6:41 buttons for them to be mostly accessible using the thumb which is the most uh the
6:45 most flexible of the fingers that you're probably using for It software wise
6:50 they've made some more improvements here as well so there's an MMO configurator
6:54 that actually overlays on the screen so you can use it to Respec in the middle
6:58 of a game without actually even tabbing out and this one for me personally is
7:02 actually cooler because I tend not to change around characters too much I play
7:05 mostly single player um RPGs when I am playing an RPG such as Dragon Age or
7:10 torch light too and uh this is really neat so they take this uh grid of 12 and
7:16 then they actually give you a screen overlay that you can set up different
7:19 icons so you can see visually on the screen as an overlay what each of these
7:24 is mapped to I think that's absolutely outstanding because a big problem for me
7:27 with 12 buttons particularly when you're going for from game to game is what the
7:30 devil did I have button seven bound to can't if you can't remember no big deal
7:35 taking care of that with a screen overlay and I think that pretty much
7:40 does it I liked the Naga hex with its six mechanical buttons and it felt like
7:44 an improvement over the original Naga with 12 buttons well now they've taken
7:48 those mechanical buttons and between the Naga hex and the Naga 2014 edition you
7:53 should have something that you'll pretty much like the wider shape addresses the
7:57 issue I think for people with larger hands although if you have baseball
8:00 glove sized hands it might still not be the perfect Mouse for you but they've
8:05 definitely improved the appeal and there you go what can you improve about
8:08 something that's already awesome make it just a little bit more awesome thank you
8:13 for checking out my unboxing and overview of the Razer Naga 2014 don't
8:17 forget to subscribe don't forget to like this video If you enjoyed it and let me
8:21 know what you think I mean just even looking at it you know seeing some of
8:24 the uh some of the close-ups of my hand on it has Razer improved the Naga by
8:28 making it a bit of a wider stance uh more compatible with larger hands Mouse
8:33 and adding the mechanical buttons or would you prefer to grab an original nun
8:36 now so you don't have to stop using it in the future thanks guys
