0:07 welcome to my unboxing and first look at the steel series flux luxury
0:14 edition so steel series is becoming more and more focused I mean like okay I've
0:19 talked about this again and again and again I love the 7h it's a gaming
0:24 headset that's actually legitimately not just good for like you know rattling
0:29 your skull uh because it's an actual audio
0:33 headphone aside from being a headset so they're becoming more and more about
0:36 different kinds of Audio Solutions so this is their Mobile Audio sort of their
0:41 mobile headphone although it's steel Series so it's got a mic included with
0:45 it anyway just in case you wanted to use it with your phone or your well your
0:50 phone or your computer or whatever else you want to actually use it for I don't
0:54 know Skype calls or anything like that so it does have an integrated microphone
0:58 but it's mostly for the the out and about experience listening to music
1:03 these guys have 40 mm drivers which means that you can expect them to
1:07 actually be able to deliver some Bas in
1:10 spite of the very very lightweight sort of construction and I'm just going to
1:16 open it up like the headphones that you can buy
1:21 at your local Big Box store that are sort of overpriced and sort of you know
1:26 look nice but actually sound like crap they look nice
1:30 so my expectation for a product like this from steel series from a brand that
1:34 I actually trust unlike sort of no-name brand on the Shelf at you know best
1:38 buyer or wherever else is that besides being sort of that fashion statement
1:43 lightweight mobile headphone it'll actually sound decent as well so I
1:47 haven't tried them yet although I will before this unboxing is over but first I
1:50 want to show you guys what we have in terms of accessories included so the
1:54 cables are a stylish orange although what's cool is you can configure it the
1:59 way you want if you order from their web shop so you can actually swap out things
2:03 like the uh cords the side plates on the
2:06 headphones themselves so you can swap these out and you can even swap out the
2:11 cushions they're actually made to order so so very very neat so the luxury
2:14 edition like I said comes with an orange cord so this one right here you can see
2:18 includes a microphone and plugs into the
2:22 bottom with a detachable cable so you just plug that guy in right there and
2:28 there you have it the other one that's included is a straight um four pole
2:34 to hold on just a gosh darn minute we'll be back in a
2:38 moment and we're back so sorry about that I did get a little bit confused
2:41 it's very straightforward so in line is a single button with a microphone for
2:47 the one that is four pole for your phone so that single button can do a number of
2:51 things it can answer calls play pause depending on your phone it can do things
2:55 like pressing it multiple times for fast forward or rewind or whatever else this
2:59 one right right here with the split connectors plugs in here
3:04 and whatever it plugs in there and then has two separate prongs for your uh for
3:09 your input and your outputs for your mic and your headphones this right here is
3:14 just an included 3 and a half in extension cable because the PC one is
3:19 not actually necessarily an appropriate length to reach around to the back of
3:22 your computer so you can just go ahead and plug these in here in order to make
3:27 sure that you can actually reach the back of your PC so that's all fine and
3:32 good now let's get into some of the really cool features so this is this is
3:35 awesome so their whole marketing thing for this is go flux yourself which is I
3:39 think amazing so it shows you all the different customizability that you can
3:43 so there's all the different cable colors and headphone colors and ear muff
3:46 colors and all that good stuff okay really neat stuff number one is padding
3:51 wise so these are just rubber pads now my initial impression when I put them on
3:55 was oh yeah these uh these seem like
3:58 they're optimized for someone with more of a square head like they sit kind of
4:02 flat on the top of my head and then they don't they don't really hug the shape of
4:05 my head there's a reason for that all you do is you take the flux and you
4:09 gently bend them and you go kind of one
4:12 one Bend at a time and you are able to oh even that's better already you're
4:16 actually able to change the shape of the
4:20 headband to get it to fit you just right which means that while it doesn't have a
4:24 soft cushiony padding it does have soft rubber and if the shape is perfect on
4:29 your head it's it's actually not a bad experience um the next thing check this
4:33 out so you've actually got two 3 and 1 12 mm Jacks when I first saw that I got
4:38 a little bit confused but once I sort of encountered this little manual right
4:43 diagram right here that shows no it's not for two different input sources it
4:46 is for okay you guys you guys are going to love this if you and if you have a
4:51 friend who also has a pair of headphones and you want to sit on the bus and share
4:55 the same music or you want to sit and watch a movie together on a tablet or
4:59 something like that guys if you have a girlfriend then you know that this stuff
5:02 happens if you don't have a girlfriend then you're probably watching this video
5:05 right now instead of spending time with her um sorry that's mean um you can
5:10 actually output to a second set of headphones it's just a standard 3 and a
5:15 half mimer steel series hasn't built in any proprietary connectors or anything
5:18 like that so you can easily use the flux headphones to share your content with
5:22 someone else at the same time so input here output there very very cool feature
5:28 love it I also haven't shown the carrying case yet so there's just a
5:32 little like nice carry bag that you can put the flux headphones inside and they
5:36 also include these are magnetic replacements for the stock ones that
5:40 come with it so you can actually put black ones on and you can swap them out
5:43 to something else later on down the line if you'd like but I personally like the
5:47 ones that come with the luxury edition here they do fold so there you go you
5:51 can just fold them up like well like that apparently put them in
5:56 there and I think that pretty much covers it I think I'm mentioned the 40mm
6:00 drivers I think I mentioned the travel friendliness detachable cables nothing
6:04 proprietary I mean for me the killer app is being able to customize the fit the
6:09 fact that they aren't like sort of just those stupid fashion headphones that so
6:14 they're actually worth a couple bucks compared to what you normally Buy in
6:17 this kind of a category oh yeah I haven't shown the sort of the softness
6:20 of the ear cups at all so there's that and being able to share my music or my
6:25 movie or whatever else it happens to be with someone is the killer app for me
6:29 that is outstanding thank you for checking out this unboxing and first look at the flux
