0:00 okay so I'm having a look at another nocta cooler the reason that I'm looking at both of these is they both launched
0:05 fairly close together and the reason for that is that nocta just launched their
0:09 140 mil fan so this is an updated version of the NH c12p and it is the
0:15 se14 which as you may or may not have guessed stands for special edition 14 cm
0:22 fan okay so there you go so let's get this open this is not a tower heat sink
0:27 this is actually a more traditional uh blowing down style of heat sink and the
0:33 reason for that is not everybody has room in their case for these giant Tower
0:37 heat sinks that go out of the side of your motherboard I mean the one that we
0:41 unboxed recently the the D14 is just huge and you don't always have space for
0:47 that you don't always have clearance so a more top down design is good for that
0:52 and it's also good if you need more cooling for the surrounding components
0:57 around your motherboard because the fan will actually contribute to mosfet
1:00 cooling as well as RAM cooling all that other stuff the tradeoff is that it
1:04 doesn't cool the CPU quite as well which many people are happy to make so let's
1:08 dive into the accessories here first we have a metal noock case badge very
1:13 classy very stylish then we have their low noise and ultra low noise adapters
1:18 so 7 and 5 volts basically then we have a couple of fan clips and a tube of
1:23 their nt1 thermal compound which you will need to spread on the CPU then we
1:28 have the AMD mounting hardware okay so their SKU firm mounting system includes
1:34 both AMD and Intel this Intel mounting hardware you can see by all the
1:38 different mounting holes here is actually good for 775 1156 and 1366 it
1:44 uses all thumb screws and stuff very nice I love to see that and then they've
1:48 done their classy little manual thing here where you open it up and you got
1:51 the Intel instructions in one side and the AMD structions instruct AMD
1:55 structions AMD instructions in the other side very cool it's all colorcoded I
1:59 should probably just do a quick uh show that really quickly here so they show
2:03 you all the different steps and colors should be quite simple to install like
2:07 all of their coolers have been in the past okay so let's get down to the c12p
2:14 se14 here if I can figure out how to get
2:17 the Box open then that will be a major stride for me okay so it actually
2:23 ships okay with you able to see the 140
2:27 mm fan through the front now this 140 mm
2:30 fan is a pretty new product for Noctua unlike all of the other 140 mil fans on
2:35 the market it uses a circular frame and the reason they've done that is because
2:39 it actually has 120 mm mounting holes
2:42 now if you buy the uh the fan Standalone you can actually get 140 mm adapters but
2:47 it's pretty cool that they allow you to mount a larger fan on a smaller uh
2:52 mounting hole okay they ship it with a little piece of plastic I like attention
2:55 to detail like this I love to see this between the fins and the fan so that
2:59 nothing get scratched you don't get any plastic junk uh residue coming off on
3:04 your fins keeps it nice and pristine looking so let's have a look at the
3:07 cooler itself you've got okay a nickel
3:10 plated copper base which will do the uh the obligatory finger shot to show the
3:15 uh the shininess now it's not particularly reflective but Noctua takes
3:20 great pride in how flat their bases is their bases are all your base something
3:25 either way reflectiveness is not necessarily an indication of flatness so
3:31 we have six heat pipes coming into the bottom here which are all oriented to
3:35 come up into their sort of radiator
3:38 array here now I'm not sure why they've made this design decision where they're
3:42 leaving out some of the fins here but I'm sure there's a very good reason for
3:46 it and I just want to give you a couple more angles here before we wrap up our
3:49 unboxing so you can see the noct to a branding there oh I see why they've done
3:53 it because these ones are connected directly to the base I'm sorry I totally
3:57 missed that wow blonde moment there okay so thank you for checking out my
4:00 unboxing and product overview of the NH
