0:00 if you've been watching lately you'll already know that we've been having a
0:03 lot of fun smushing exceptional gaming machines into incredibly small form
0:09 factors and if you've been subscribed to our channel for a longer period then
0:13 you'll know that we've also been covering tiny non-gaming Ultra compact
0:19 PCS for years well then it was only a
0:23 matter of time before a product would come along that blurred the lines
0:28 between these two categ atories you can call it Ultra form factor you can call
0:34 it small compact Gigabyte calls it
0:38 bricks VR gbbn i7 HG
0:44 6-160 but I call it the kleenex box of
0:49 annihilation or the but will it bring you Tears of
0:55 Joy or tears of suck well it'd be a
1:00 crying shame if we didn't find
1:10 out Rose Will's 25u adjustable open
1:14 frame rack is a wide range easy to
1:17 install server Rack or cabinet for small businesses home offices and Studios
1:22 check it out now at the link below so to
1:26 put this product in perspective if the
1:29 were the the size of the outer box it came in it would still be small enough
1:35 to make it into our recent small form factor case Roundup which you can check
1:39 out here but it gets far better than
1:42 that Gigabyte has done some incredible engineering work here and managed to fit
1:47 a formidable gaming rig into a volume of
1:51 only 2.6 L that is a mere third of the
1:56 size of the smallest case in that round
2:00 up I mean seriously if this machine were
2:04 filled with chocolate milk I could literally drink it in one sitting which
2:09 I will begin to do
2:13 now now the chassis of our top tier config is 110 mm Square by 220 mm tall
2:21 with a dark anodized aluminum finish that subjectively looks a lot more
2:26 premium than its lower tiered kitchen a
2:29 styled Brethren but still fall short of looking as good as it could you know it
2:36 pains me to say this but in this case while I have to give them credit for not
2:41 going full gamer I think it might have looked a little better especially in a
2:46 home theater without the
2:51 orange flipping it around we find a healthy helping of IO 3 USB 3 5 gig
2:57 ports and 2 usb3 10 gig ports one type A
3:02 and one type c and it's got more stuff that we like gigabit Ethernet with audio
3:06 out and in and some we don't external
3:10 antennas come on guys those are so 1997 now here's one of the big product
3:16 differentiators it's got two HDMI 2.0
3:20 ports and two DisplayPort mini ports
3:23 that is where the VR sticker on the box
3:26 comes from this thing has a VR grade
3:31 dedicated graphics
3:34 card Gigabyte made opening the kabo
3:38 really easy this is a key consideration for something that'll be sold as a
3:42 barebones machine for you to choose your own OS storage and memory just remember
3:48 though guys that it won't be entirely plug-and playay so Factor these items
3:53 and any other accessories into your
3:56 budget just four screws hold the outer chassis on on then a few more
4:01 conveniently marked little guys hold together what we're calling the music
4:06 box for nerds oh oh I just broke a small thing
4:12 but it's okay it's actually a pretty beefy cooler for like a 1062 fully
4:17 custom gpus there's the Dual mini display ports there's the Dual
4:22 hdmis gpus down there uh looks like his
4:26 RAM on the back no but we've got power
4:29 delivery on the back here and then we've got uh I actually can't oh okay so
4:35 they've got memory under a heat pipe over here yeah there it is so the memory
4:39 is here and here look at that everything about this thing is custom down to the
4:44 printing on the vrm modules expandability is like really compact in
4:49 here so you've got one m.2 then you've got another that runs either PCI Express
4:55 or SATA m.2 you got your two sodiums and
4:59 then and so you can actually oh this is cool so you can actually install a 2 and
5:04 1/2 in drive
5:08 here okay then so it's a pint siiz PC
5:12 with a GTX 1060 in it but can it actually deliver butter smooth frame
5:17 rates in games without melting well from our favorite games to
5:23 synthetics like unen super positions performance test and even its VR
5:28 benchmarks this branding is officially
5:31 living up to its promise and the caboa
5:36 was quiet across all of our tests even
5:40 when slogging through the VR test on the
5:44 very demanding future setting with the GPU hanging around the mid
5:49 80s CPU thermals though are a bit of a
5:52 different story Ida 64's FPU stress test
5:57 turned the Kap into a a bit of a flaming
6:00 hamster wheel we had to double check our sound meter yep that's right 70 plus d
6:08 and even then the CPU was in the high 90s throttling down by as much as
6:14 25% we were thinking maybe it was due to
6:18 our slightly unfair synthetic workload
6:21 so we fired up Adobe Premiere and encoded a video in 4k with well pretty
6:28 much the same results
6:31 this was a bad idea but how big of a deal all this is really depends on your
6:36 expectations this isn't a full fat
6:40 workstation but Gigabyte never said it was and aside from their claim that it
6:45 has similar upgradeability to a full-size PC Thunderbolt 3 would
6:50 probably help a lot for me to say that that's fair the kapura pretty much lives
6:56 up to all of the points listed on the product page
7:00 it's a great fit for VR in your living room or home
7:03 theater and thanks to its size you can
7:06 easily take it with you on the go I'm
7:09 giving this thing uh two jugs
