0:07 welcome to yet another By Request unboxing I have received countless
0:12 inquiries about the Razer uroboros oroboros oroboros whatever it
0:19 means a dragon eating its own tail and it's like some kind of ancient symbol or
0:23 something and basically it is their new
0:27 super uber premium ambid dextr gaming
0:30 mouse it comes in a similar to Mamba esque packaging that I remember caused
0:36 such a s stir back when the Mamba came out remember guys the Mamba was the
0:40 first wireless gaming mouse that really performed like a wired gaming mouse even
0:45 though it was Wireless so they're using a similar type of technology in this one
0:50 where they're saying that you have the option of using it Wireless with less
0:53 than one millisecond of delay remember guys most LCDs are on the order of 10 to
0:59 30 plus milliseconds of DeLay So an extra 1 millisecond on your mouse is not
1:04 going to be the difference between oh input leg is so bad versus oh it you
1:08 know is fine and it's like awesome and just like the Mamba you have the option
1:13 to run it wirelessly or you can charge
1:16 the battery and use it wired at the exact same
1:20 time with the included braided cable so you can use it in wired or Wireless mode
1:24 no big deal here's another thing I love check this out something that drove me
1:29 crazy about my G7 I used a G7 for a couple years actually was the fact that
1:33 it had those stupid custom battery packs
1:36 now you never ever have to worry about not having a battery that's charged
1:41 enough to use in your mouse even once the batteries start to wear out that's
1:45 another thing that happened to G7 users just uses a standard doublea battery and
1:50 nickel metal hydride batteries will charge in the mouse so please be sure
1:54 not to use anything other than a nickel metal hydride battery because if it
1:57 starts to try and charge it it might be bad I don't know if it would I don't
2:01 know that it would but I'm just sort of saying in general put in a nickel metal
2:04 hydride battery it won't kill you all right experience the new standard of
2:08 precision with the 4G dual sensor system outfitted with both a laser and an
2:11 optical sensor to accurately calibrate the mouse for exceptional surface tracking and customizable liftoff
2:15 Heights there you go 8200 DPI crazy
2:20 unrivaled gaming grade Wireless technology means the oros it's well okay
2:24 yeah we've covered that already three customizable parts more on this later
2:29 and a bunch of other languages approximate size and weight and a bunch of things that we don't care about all
2:34 right razor so good at packaging let's see what they've included with this one
2:37 we've got some razor stickers we've got some razor
2:42 documentation that's not really the word for it at all all right what's this guy
2:47 congratulations there's no turning back like us on Facebook and all that jazz
2:51 there's a picture of the mouse next to a razor blade all right synapse 2.0
2:55 synapse 2.0 is cool they have also updated synapse 2.0 since it came out to
3:00 make it like way better because all your settings are still there even if you're
3:03 in offline mode so when you're online it'll grab all your settings and all
3:07 your games and all that cool stuff from the cloud and then when you're offline
3:11 it'll just take whatever the local copy is so synapse very very very neat stuff
3:15 it's kind of like uh valves valves cloud service where it remembers your game
3:19 settings synapse remembers regardless of which computer you're on regardless of
3:23 what games it is you just log into synaps and it remembers your Macros and
3:27 all that good stuff for you hold Infinity in the palm of your hand okay
3:31 yeah this is about the adjustabl so we'll more on that after quick start
3:34 guide product guide for other razor products syapse 2.0 oh no this is just
3:40 this product guide so a bunch of oh yeah a bunch of good stuff in there including the software and then another language
3:45 product guide now let's see if I can figure out how to get this bad boy out
3:48 of here so pull this off okay which
3:52 should do something there we go all right that
3:57 comes out of there I remember with the mamba I really struggled with it uh to
4:01 get it off of the little pedestal that it was on inside the packaging so
4:06 hopefully this one I can figure out it's been a long time since I did my Mamba
4:11 unboxing but I hope this one is a little bit easier to to do okay yeah that's on
4:16 there pretty darn good let's see if we can figure this here out so there's a
4:21 there's an arrow ah there we go that's not so bad okay
4:27 it's not that heavy actually it's surprisingly light so once I figure out
4:31 where all this stuff is I will be back in a moment and then I'll show you what
4:35 makes this pretty much as adjustable and customizable as it gets on top of its
4:40 outstanding performance so the or or
4:45 oroboros is coming in as a customizable
4:49 Mouse so there's a few different parameters that you can adjust number
4:52 one is the position of the Palm rest see
4:56 I'm going to go ahead I'm going to take that see how you can tilt it like that
4:59 for you know a larger hand where you're going to Palm the mouse uh and then you
5:03 can also tilt it completely the other way now it's very subtle looking how the
5:10 profile of the mouse changes when you adjust this but what I discovered and my
5:15 wife and I are playing around with it off camera for a little while here
5:18 actually she's a very fussy fussy Mouse
5:22 user and as am I uh what we discovered is it actually makes an enormous
5:27 difference to the feel of the mouse and we were able to get it dialed in to the
5:30 point where both of us were like okay yeah CU When I first handed her the
5:34 mouse she went but then we played around with that
5:38 as well as the length so you can adjust the length of the mouse here she has
5:41 kind of long fingers and slim hands so you can go ahead and you just push this
5:45 piece down right here okay and that disengages it from the track so you can
5:50 go ahead and go Click by click and adjust the length of the mouse so you can go from all the way to a size that's
5:55 comfortable for me so you got my my small hands here see so that's that's
6:00 comfortable for me and then you can take it all the way out to the point where
6:04 slick could probably use it comfortably I kind of wish he was here to try it out
6:08 for me but there you go to the point where I'll put my hand on the back of
6:11 the mouse and my fingers barely make it to the wheel so you could have fingers
6:14 that are you know this much longer than mine and you'd still be comfortable
6:18 using the oroboros at its full length and then you've got about three
6:23 adjustment notches in between those so that's really cool as well last but not
6:27 least you've got magnetic pieces on the sides so here you can adjust it however
6:31 want so you can go okay I'm a palm grip user I want my pinky to have something
6:35 to rest on I want my thumb to have a rubberized grip and oh these are cool
6:41 too so these are gear locks check this out so it's again this mouse is totally
6:46 ambidextrous you can adjust it either way for left-handed or right-handed use
6:51 so what these guys do is particularly with the grippy sides in place they
6:55 allow you to adjust your DPI while
6:58 you're holding it down so you can lock those buttons off so you can put as much
7:02 pressure as you want to lift it off the mouse pad or whatever else you want or
7:05 you can unlock them so they turn into a
7:09 button you can go okay da da da da da full speed hold down sniping at low uh
7:14 at uh at low sensitivity let go and
7:17 you're back to full speed this is a 100
7:21 times better of an implementation versus mice like aari laser where you got a
7:26 button here that toggles your DPI this
7:31 is not easy to hit in the heat of battle whereas this is part of your natural
7:36 movement and you can do it as easily as as anything else so I I'm actually I
7:41 really like that particular feature I'm going to go ahead and lock these off for
7:45 now and again you can configure it completely the other way these are
7:48 magnets so they're super easy to put in place but they won't come off
7:52 accidentally you have to kind of fight with them to get them off so well not
7:56 fight with them but you have to you have to mean it okay so same thing you can
7:59 adust it for left-handed use here now if there was something that I had to
8:02 complain about with the shape of the oroboros it would be that I don't really
8:08 have a place to put my ring finger so here watch this guys I'm just going to
8:12 go ahead put this on the mouse pad here so you can see so my thumb I can rest here or I can
8:18 adjust it with the rubberized grip and I can rest on that if I'm more of a claw
8:23 user and I want to hold the mouse like that I can even do this and I can I can
8:26 claw the mouse like that go ahead and adjust this in lots of different ways to
8:30 use it whether you're a palm user or a claw user this is probably how I'd use it as a claw user bring it down nice and
8:35 short and then use it like that um all
8:38 right so I can rest my thumb there with either of those options uh index and
8:42 middle finger those are fine pinky finger I can either rest right here on
8:46 the little wing or I can throw this guy on again and I can uh I can use it as a
8:51 as a claw grip I don't really have somewhere to put this finger so it tends
8:55 to kind of fall down here where it gets caught on this sharp piece right here
8:58 this sharp piece right here it tends not to really be able to reach these two
9:03 buttons on the other side of the mouse so this contrasts with something like a steel series Sensei where you can
9:08 actually it's ambidextrous and it has front and back buttons on both sides but
9:12 you can actually reach those on the other side whereas these ones are
9:15 positioned a little bit further back which I think is a function of the
9:19 adjustable nature of the mouse where if you were pulling it all the way back
9:24 well that's where they would need to be to be comfortably used and if you put
9:27 them way up here that user with their Palm at the back of the M like this
9:30 wouldn't be able to reach them so in order for everyone to be able to reach
9:34 them for us small-handed users it becomes sort of a non-optimal location
9:39 where I can't really press these comfortably with my pinky um and these
9:43 ones with my thumb are sort of more of a um a base of the thumb and then middle
9:47 of the thumb buttons whereas on something like a G9 these are middle of
9:52 the thumb tip of the thumb buttons and same for an aari laser so the reason I
9:56 have a G9 and an aari laser here those are myor favorite mice one of them is
10:00 more of a claw grip Mouse for me and the other one's more of a palm grip Mouse for me and I wanted to take this jack of
10:05 all trades and compare it to what I consider to be the masters of those
10:11 particular trades all right so back to the buttons that are on the mouse so you
10:15 got your left your right Mouse button your scroll wheel really nice scroll
10:19 wheel on this guy you see those raised bumps right there very very comfortable
10:22 nice soft rubber really good grip love it sensitivity up sensitivity down
10:28 adjustable Palm rest and rear panel that we've already been through so here are
10:32 your one two three buttons on each side
10:35 one two three you can program all of these in the synapse software don't
10:39 forget that guys next you've got those gear locks that I showed you before m is
10:44 Ultra Stick M ah Ultra slick Ultra Stick
10:47 Mouse feet you put it down on your pad you can't move no I'm just kidding Ultra
10:52 slick so you got them here here here on the bottom of the Wings and on the
10:57 bottom of the magnetic removable piece P here so those are all over the bottom
11:01 you've also got okay rear panel button recliner wheel yep yep 8200 DPI sensors
11:08 one two and rechargeable battery USB
11:11 connector ah yes USB connector cable so if you want to plug that baby in all you
11:14 do is go like well something looks like
11:19 it locks into some sort of piece of something there there you go goldplated
11:23 so it's good stuff you got a nice braided cable here so you shouldn't have
11:27 any issues with that again gold plated connector on the other side it's funny
11:30 they gold plate this part but the only part that actually has to be goldplated is the connectors inside but I think it
11:35 looks more L bling that way so I can understand why they do it charging 4
11:39 hours 4 hours gets you to 90% battery that's really cool so it's kind of like
11:43 the uh it's kind of like my iPhone 4 where I can give it a quick zap and I
11:46 can get back going pretty quickly but it actually takes quite a while to get to
11:50 full charge so 4 hours for 90% 8 hours
11:53 for 100% so that lasts little bit takes quite a while and there's instructions
11:57 here on how to actually uh take the
12:01 battery out so you slide this bad boy up and you go ahead and load the battery in
12:05 there just like that oh and it glows green folks very
12:11 very nice so you've got green glowing accents here here and here and here
12:18 which looks really really really really cool then we're going to go ahead and
12:21 put that back where back where I want it and I want the uh I want the wing over
12:26 here I love how quickly you can adjust things on it I mean you've got adjustable mice I mean things like G9 is
12:31 adjustable it comes with two different outer pieces as well as adjustable
12:35 weights but it takes like you know you got to like take this off and take go
12:38 get another one it's kind of a pain whereas this is actually you know you
12:43 can have all the pieces on and off with magnets basically so Wireless M yeah I
12:48 don't think we're I don't think we're really missing anything here how to pair it you press the button press the other
12:52 button not a big deal so you know what
12:55 let me connect it and I'll have a look at what I think cuz I was super stoked on the G6 from Logitech it looked like
13:01 the perfect ergonomics for me still love the ergonomics of it great button layout
13:05 but the sensor just felt laggy so I'm going to go ahead I'm going to install
13:09 the drivers for this guy and let's see what I think so if you guys were wondering what 8200 DPI looks like I
13:14 think we really have reached the point where we're at the limit of how much DPI
13:18 is needed I have my mouse pointer up in the very top left corner I move the
13:22 mouse that much it's in the bottom left corner did you even see how much watch
13:26 I'm going to do it again magic trick okay bottom left top
13:30 right so I think that's a little bit on the high side for me personally but you
13:35 can adjust the stages so you can sort of
13:38 go and you can configure where you want
13:42 the various there we go configure sensitivity changes you can have up to
13:45 five stages so it's at 800 1800 4, 6,400
13:48 etc etc etc I find with higher resolution monitors you do need the
13:52 higher DPI settings but this is just a 1080p monitor so something like 800 to
13:56 1,000 would probably be absolutely perfect for me you can adjust in 100
14:02 increments there we go yeah th000 looks
14:05 like looks like the Magic Bullet for me bunch of other stuff you can customize
14:09 including what all the buttons do as well as uh oh yeah you can see the side
14:14 views of the mice there you go top view side view performance uh yes
14:18 acceleration keep it off unless I don't know you're some kind of person who
14:23 likes acceleration not that I'm generalizing um lighting bright normal
14:27 oh you can change the brightness you can go for oh okay in Wireless mode you can
14:31 turn them down just to make sure that you don't drain your battery with the lights surface calibration turn that on
14:37 others ad mats liftoff range you can change that as well as power settings so
14:41 when does it enter sleep mode after idle Flash the battery indicator when the
14:44 battery Falls below 5 10 15 20 or 25%
14:48 gives you lots of good oh and macro programming so this is all done within
14:51 synapse and synapse will go ahead and
14:54 make sure that everything is you know taken care of for you so what do I think
15:00 feels all right I mean I for me it's
15:03 mice never come down to spec they come down
15:07 to how responsive does it feel does it
15:10 feel right
15:14 um yeah you know other than not knowing where to put my ring finger I think
15:18 we're I think we're in good shape with or or oroboros however one thing that I
15:23 did get tricked by and as a seasoned unboxer I mean I even wear a shirt that
15:27 says a professional unboxer on it I'm feeling pretty ashamed of this but I
15:32 unboxed a wireless mouse without actually managing to find the wireless
15:36 base station which
15:39 is here so it's a weighted base station
15:42 it's got a rubber grip on the bottom so it's not going to go anywhere you can
15:46 put the plug into this bad boy just like
15:51 that and then you can drop the mouse on there for your charging purposes just
15:55 like that thank you for checking out my
15:59 unboxing and first look at the Razer
