0:00 shout out to Corsair for sponsoring our content here at computex 2018 check out
0:04 their hydro series pro liquid coolers at the link below all right so when we
0:07 arrived in AMD's uh i don't know hall or whatever whatever this place is
0:12 this demo frankly it sucked um i mean they were showing off their wraith
0:16 ripper cooler which will be available separately for their threadripper 2 cpus
0:21 it's got a 120 millimeter fan and i mean really the notable thing here is that
0:25 it's a 32 core processor under there and it's air-cooled
0:30 but it didn't even have any cables plugged into the back and we couldn't we
0:35 couldn't play with it at all so i was like
0:38 really you guys i mean come on you know like come on and they
0:44 were like okay Linus for you
0:48 so guess what we actually get to show you guys not what it's called not what
0:53 speeds it's clocked at or anything like that because this is still early stages
0:57 stuff but they are saying that it's going to be 12 nanometer it's going to
1:01 be up to 32 cores and 64 threads though
1:05 we don't know the exact other core configurations that might be available
1:09 we do know that it's going to have all the same extra tech built into it as
1:13 ryzen second generation so that includes their new boost algorithm and all that
1:18 kind of stuff although when you don't know the clock speeds then you can't know the boost speed so performance is
1:23 very much tbd and what we also know is that it's going to be tr4 socket
1:28 compatible and a drop in replacement for
1:31 your x399 system with a BIOS update
1:35 finally they agreed to let us run
1:39 blender on it so we can see yes in fact
1:42 this is real hardware i think i hit the right hotkey hold on f12 go yes
1:47 so this is real hardware 32 cores
1:52 64 thread so that is four by eight
1:57 times two and look at it rip so this is a custom
2:04 AMD scene you guys aren't going to be able to render this at home and
2:08 extrapolate the performance of it because there's still a lot of work to
2:11 be done before this is released sometime in q3 of this year but if you
2:16 guys were hoping for you know AMD to one-up the
2:21 core enthusiast overclockable processor
2:24 that they showed off last year well then
2:28 yeah that's the plan 32 cores and yes it
2:32 will also be overclockable
2:36 also of note is finally an actual card
2:40 so there's a vega nano follow-up to their previous nano card um i don't
2:44 actually know too much about the specs of this one i think it's like kind of vega 56 based
2:50 uh three display ports HDMI anyway what actually caught my eye other than
2:55 threadripper 2 of course was this see this like pile of laptops and then
3:00 like also this more laptops AMD finally has a
3:06 compelling enough mobile CPU that they
3:09 are winning a serious number of designs
3:14 with third-party manufacturers everyone from uh there's a huawei unit on the
3:18 other side there dell oh this is interesting this is the
3:22 first ever AMD CPU in a dell business
3:26 latitude notebook this one's a little bit chunky and businessy this is the one
3:30 that really stood out to me this is the hp envy x360
3:34 13 and it is a super slim and yet fairly
3:39 beefy little unit so you got your usb over here you got your cooling vent here
3:43 micro sd it's man this thing is crazy thin over here you've got a volume
3:48 rocker type c and another usb a and then of course
3:52 because it's part of their x360 line you can convert it into a tablet should you
3:56 see fit now it goes up to a ryzen 7 2700u that is a quad core eight thread
4:02 processor and its vega 10 graphics is
4:05 apparently running at the full 15 watt TDP of this chip so the performance of
4:10 it will actually be very similar pretty much identical to its 14 inch and 15
4:16 inch brethren probably the most notable thing about this
4:19 is that this notebook is an AMD exclusive
4:24 for years at the very best AMD got kind of a
4:29 hopefully very similar equivalent to the Intel unit but
4:33 apparently hp is so confident in this design that they built a laptop right
4:38 around AMD's product which is like i
4:42 mean threadripper is cool but this
4:45 is where a microchip processor makes real money and takes real market share
4:50 from their competitor speaking of taking market share from
4:54 competitors hydro pro series coolers are their
4:57 quietest ever they've added a quieter pump their
5:00 magnetic levitation bearing fans and a brand new compact RGB pump head with
5:06 vibrant RGB lighting because you know you can't have the quietest most high
5:10 performance gaming experience without that RGB so check it out at the link in
5:15 the video description so thanks for watching guys don't miss any of our computex coverage by making
5:19 sure you're subscribed and we will see you at the next suite or booth or
5:23 whatever which way is it going which way should go no
5:27 he got away
