0:00 now this is something that I've been meaning to take a look at for a long time this is the Intel data migration
0:05 software it's powered by acronis so oh
0:08 apparently there's a full version that you can get why don't we find out what
0:12 happens if you try and get the full version okay upgrade from Intel data
0:16 migration software with a 40% off discount so
0:19 $29.99 so after that you can have continuous data protection you can
0:23 create complete dis images perform incremental and differential backups
0:28 backup specific documents folders and categories and have access to the archives at back at any time and
0:33 anywhere using online backup neat okay
0:37 well let's get rid of that for now and
0:41 what I'm going to do is I'm just going to do the basic things so there's a few things that are included in the basic
0:45 version uh so there's a data migration software media Builder so you can create
0:49 a bootable media uh with the Intel
0:52 components you select so there's a data migration software okay includes drivers
0:57 for USB PC scuzzy hard disks as well as a report thing okay so we can do this we
1:01 can run aonis Drive cleanser so we can delete all the data off drives we can
1:06 add new discs which we're not going to do what we are going to do is we're going to click Start now we are going to
1:11 use the automatic parameters and we are going to take the data from the Silicon
1:17 power drive that I'm using as my boot drive right now which clearly isn't
1:21 large enough for my test PC because I'm already totally full I haven't even
1:26 installed any games other than hawks 2 and I'm going to to migrate them over to
1:31 an Intel 120 gig SATA 3 SSD so I'm going
1:36 to select a source dis which is this guy
1:39 I'm going to select a Target disc which is this guy yeah that's fine and uh
1:45 let's see how this goes ah yes I'll be
1:48 clicking proceed right about now
1:53 okay so the software prompted me to reboot and uh here's what it came up
1:59 with please Focus do your best camera okay so
2:05 it's copying the partitions it's uh copying from that sand Force based drive
2:10 to not this Intel Drive the other Intel Drive the one back there it's a 510
2:14 Series 120 gig SSD and uh yeah till the
2:18 operation's taking a little while and then hopefully I'll have a new OS Drive
2:23 hey look there's me so the data migration software says I
2:28 am done so what I'm going to do now is I'm going to press any key to shut down
2:33 the computer there we go then I'm going to
2:37 unplug the sand Force SSD leaving only
2:40 my Intel SSD plugged into the system and
2:43 I'm going to boot it back up let's see how let's see if we get into
2:52 Windows okay there we go
3:11 starting Windows excellent there's my
3:14 test
3:17 bench
3:22 and there we go just like that that was easy the
3:28 Catalyst Control Center blah blah blah that makes sense because I have an
3:32 NVIDIA card my system finished restart
3:35 required so I got to restart in order to install drivers for the SSD that I'm
3:40 currently using all right but let's see here where
3:45 do we what do we got okay so yeah internal system disc everything is
3:49 working 100% with that simple little
3:52 process so that my friends is how to use
3:56 the Intel data migration tool to take
4:00 your old boot Drive whether it's an SSD a hard drive a USB drive an SD card
4:05 whatever the case may be and migrate the data over to a new
4:10 SSD thank you for checking out this little episode of NCI NC Tech tips Linus
