0:00 so this is an exciting time I've actually had any number of people
0:06 request a new yes I got a copy of Vegas
0:10 I will no longer be using Windows Live Movie Maker cameraman finds that very
0:13 amusing evidently okay I am going to be doing a remake of the good enough gaming
0:21 system which uh This original video was released on the ncixcom channel in
0:27 standard de got about $100,000 views in
0:30 on August 23rd 2007 the dates to your
0:34 left there yeah okay so I have gotten a
0:37 ton of requests to redo this with more Modern
0:41 Hardware so I've actually decided not
0:44 only to do that but also to kick things up a notch and I'm going to be doing two
0:49 systems so I'm going to do one with my original good enough gaming goal which
0:54 was a $600 system so let's walk you through what I'm going to be using for
0:58 that this is all stuff that I've shopped for on the NC site in our weekly special
1:03 this week so no guarantees you'll find exactly this deal but there are no no
1:07 that's there for a reason what are you what what you doing that's there for a
1:12 reason okay um so uh now I've completely lost my
1:17 train of thought right so you usually find deals of this caliber although you
1:21 might not find exactly the same one so the first thing I've got here for my good enough gaming system is a core I3
1:26 2100 processor with a Gigabyte h61 motherboard I I went Super Value lowend
1:31 on the motherboard and for the processor I've gone with a dual core because the
1:35 reality of it is most of the games out there are still going to run just fine
1:38 on a dual core I went with 4 gigs of RAM because for $39.99 minus a $5 Mir how
1:44 can you say no the GTX 461 gig
1:47 especially with an additional 25 bucks off with a mail-in rebate and a free
1:51 copy of hawks 2 and a free NCIX $10 gift
1:54 card that comes with it is a smoking good deal so that works out to just
1:58 under 150 bucks for a great gaming graphics card the 300 at 5299 minus a 20
2:04 Mir is a well ventilated gaming chassis
2:07 it's pretty you know basic but it is what it is we're trying to hit a price
2:10 point here I do not have enough budget for an SSD so I've gone with a $40
2:15 Western Digital Caviar blue 500 gig I did not go with a green even though
2:19 they're cheap because green drives are not really suitable for OS drive use I
2:23 have a DVD Rider I've gone with Windows 7 Home Premium and a true power new 650
2:28 wat power supply normally this would not fit in my budget for a $600 machine but
2:32 it has a $30 Mir on it so down here at the bottom I can see that my cart total
2:38 is $693 192 I have $80 in MIRS and I have a
2:44 $10 ncx gift card that comes with that
2:47 uh that MSI graphics card so I basically treat that as cash so I went just over
2:53 my $600 Target and if you know someone if you already have a copy of Windows 7
2:57 then you can save yourself a 100 bucks there it becomes A5 $500 gaming machine
3:01 now for comparison I want to take this
3:04 value gaming machine and put it up against what you can build for about
3:09 1,000 bucks so here we've got an i5 2500k so we've gone from a dual core to
3:13 a quad core processor we've gone from a cheapo h61 board to a p67 board that is
3:19 SLI ready Crossfire ready and capable of overclocking we've gone from 4 gigs to 8
3:24 gigs of RAM we've gone all the way up to a GTX 570 OC
3:30 we've upgraded the chassis because most people you see spending 1,000 bucks on a
3:34 gaming system are going to be buying a decent chassis the 932 is definitely a
3:38 very decent chassis especially for after a $20 Mir around 100 bucks we've gone
3:44 with the same power supply because it's such a good deal for $39.99 the true
3:48 power 650 is just a ridiculous deal so uh it's fully capable of supporting that
3:53 GTX 570 so that's what I'll be doing I can afford an SSD on this machine so I'm
3:58 going with an ocz vertex 2 60 gig and then I'm going to go with a Caviar Green
4:02 for storage because you can cheap out on the drive because it's just for storage
4:05 green is fine for that finally I've got a DVD riter same as the other one in
4:10 Windows Home 7 Windows 7 Home Premium for 100 bucks and so my total minus $110
4:16 of Mir comes to about 1253 minus 110
4:22 minus another 10 bucks so uh just over
4:25 $1,100 so what I'm going to do is I'm going to build both of these machines
4:29 for you guys and I'm going to compare our good enough gaming machine to what
4:32 you would get if you spend just under twice as much don't forget to subscribe
4:37 to lus Tech tips for unboxings and computer videos and don't forget to
