0:00 oh my gosh this big is always this crazy
0:03 edsel this is it it's usually a bit crazier
0:07 it's usually crazier than this oh boy yep we're actually at pepcom uh the
0:12 digital experience but we won't be reporting on what is here right now
0:16 actually reporting on stuff that happened before this weird how that works that's right we got
0:21 some press conferences to cover NVIDIA announced the rtx 2060 at their press
0:25 conference touting it as more powerful than not only the gtx 1060 but also the
0:30 1070 which makes sense because it's got
0:33 a price to match as Linus talks about in the Linus tech tips review which you can
0:38 watch here NVIDIA is most likely also going to launch a gtx
0:42 1160. soon which will have the same performance just without ray tracing
0:47 so this is cool NVIDIA but
0:53 can we get that other one rtx mobile for laptops was also announced so expect to
0:57 see a bunch of gaming laptops around the corner NVIDIA's big format gaming
1:01 displays are also in attendance here specifically the hp omen x imperium 65
1:06 complete with g-sync HDR a 144 hertz
1:10 refresh rate and leds on the back no
1:14 sounds cool now here's where it gets interesting surprisingly NVIDIA
1:18 announced that g-sync is finally going to be compatible with other monitors
1:22 that support variable refresh rate like
1:25 free sync monitors NVIDIA apparently tested 400 of these
1:30 and certified 12 of them as g-sync compatible but you
1:35 will be able to run g-sync on non-certified monitors NVIDIA just can't
1:38 guarantee the experience will be awesome if you do want that guarantee you can
1:42 either buy g-sync certified or g-sync HDR monitors which have now been
1:46 rebranded to g-sync ultimate
1:49 yeah the walled garden actually is opening up before you know it we'll have
1:54 rtx on Radeon cards no come on NVIDIA
1:58 make it happen next up on the press conference tour lg we'll start with by
2:02 far the most innovative product the lg homebrew aka a keurig for beer except
2:08 once you put in the pods you have to wait two weeks
2:11 to get your drink but maybe it'll taste better than a beer
2:15 you just got from the store i don't know we're moving on last year the company
2:19 gave a sneak peek of its prototype rollable tv but now it's an actual
2:23 product the lg signature OLED tb
2:26 r the tv can completely roll up into a soundbar box at its base hiding it from
2:32 view entirely or showing only a section for things like media controls i gotta
2:36 be honest guys i thought it was a gimmick at first but now it actually seems kind of cool
2:41 what is ces doing this actually isn't ces of pepco sorry
2:45 pepco lg also showed off an 8k OLED tv
2:48 and announced that in addition to google assistant lg tvs will be getting alexa
2:53 support as well as apple airplay and
2:56 homekit making them far more useful than just a big old screen that sits in your
3:00 room and they've got HDMI 2.12 not bad
3:04 not bad at all what say you samsung oh
3:07 samsung's got something to say just you watch samsung did not reveal a rolling tv but
3:12 they did show off their own 98 inch qled
3:15 8k tv also with HDMI 2.1 samsung's tvs
3:19 will also have airplay support in addition to the itunes store so you can
3:23 rent and buy things so it seems like apple got dragged into ces whether they
3:27 wanted to or not they probably wanted to samsung also debuted what they call
3:31 micro leds which are small modular units that can be combined to create larger
3:36 displays but the big news from samsung is that try as you might to avoid bixby
3:42 if you've got anything made by samsung you won't be able to hide for long bixby
3:47 is coming to every freaking thing the company makes from its tvs to its
3:51 washing machines to its refrigerators that last one seemed kind of useful
3:54 since you can ask bixby to show you recipes and samsung also has a mode
3:58 where families can put up digital photos on the fridge display because you can't
4:02 put up real photos anymore because there's a display there so also there
4:06 was a new notebook 9 pro that looks like it might be cool and robots that can
4:10 sense your blood pressure cause why not now it's time for quick bits brought to
4:13 you by seasonic who's sponsoring all of our coverage here at ces power supplies
4:17 are often overlooked they may not excite you like a brand new graphics card does
4:21 but a low quality unit can really screw up your system well see sonic are the
4:25 power supply masters they've been doing this since the 1980s you can trust their
4:30 products to be efficient and dependable so if you're building a new pc or
4:33 upgrading your old one make sure you check out see sonic power supplies at the link below one of the quick bits
4:39 ASUS has announced a number of new laptops and refreshes here at ces but
4:42 the unit that's catching everyone's eye is the mothership because it is an
4:47 absolute unit it's basically like a beefy surface pro
4:51 for gamers Linus actually did a video on this as well over on Linux tech tips
4:55 links up there for watching purposes razer has unveiled the company's first
4:59 actual standalone monitor called the raptor
5:03 although they spelled it raptor instead of raptur
5:06 i guess brand consistency isn't really a concern for them
5:09 anyways it's a 27-inch 1440p monitor with a one millisecond response time and
5:14 support for freesync not bad for a freshman attempt this guy would
5:18 definitely be one of the cool kids in its first year if the monitor was a
5:22 freshman insta360 has revealed the titan
5:25 a vr camera that ups the resolution from 8k to 11k thanks to eight lenses
5:30 equipped with micro four thirds sensors that also support 10 bit color but
5:34 prepare to shell out fifteen thousand dollars if you want one or better yet
5:38 don't prepare to do that because you almost certainly don't need this
5:42 amazon's key program has until now allowed couriers to deliver packages
5:47 right inside the consumer's door or car
5:50 but i think a lot of people think this is kind of creepy and amazon seems to
5:54 recognize this as well they've just announced key for garage which will let
5:58 you receive deliveries there instead so
6:01 it's slightly safer just don't store your valuables in there
6:05 like i do and you should be good what's that and paying for likes on social media is
6:10 a generally distasteful practice but japanese billionaire yusaku mayazawa
6:15 apparently disagrees he's the guy scheduled to go to the moon on a spacex
6:18 vessel you might recall miyazawa tweeted an offer for roughly ten thousand
6:22 dollars to 100 different people who followed and retweeted it his tweet
6:26 promptly broke twitter's record for most retweets at over 3.5 million you know
6:31 this wasn't ces news but i just thought it was so nice of this guy to help people out you know and it's certainly
6:35 not helping to continue this episode any longer because it's over but worry not
6:40 we'll be back tomorrow to continue our week-long coverage of the parts of ces
6:43 2019 that we want to cover because what do you think i am a media conglomerate
6:47 with hundreds of employees all these people don't work for me i'm
6:51 just riley
