0:00 thanks to dbrand for sponsoring our ces coverage this year check out their
0:04 awesome skins at the link below so i like razer and for the most part i
0:09 like what they do with their notebook line of products the blade 14 is my
0:14 current daily driver late 2016
0:18 edition 1060. whatever it is they're calling it these days
0:22 but i have to confess that i was pretty taken aback
0:27 when they showed me this
0:31 this is to be clear
0:34 not a product even though it kind of looks like a product but razer's good at
0:38 that showing up at these trade shows was something that kind of like actually
0:42 from the outside kind of looks like oh yeah like that could kind of work except
0:45 oh wait the technology won't be there for i don't know 10 years so
0:50 yeah good for you so what we're looking at right now is
0:54 called project valerie and you'd be forgiven
0:58 for thinking that it looks an awful lot
1:02 like a razor blade pro you know the one that i reviewed over here and i liked
1:06 some things like the fact that it's slimmer than any other gtx 1080 equipped
1:10 notebook um but didn't like other things like the
1:14 mechanical keyboard you'd be forgiven for thinking gee it looks an awful lot
1:18 like that but with two extra screens glued to the side
1:21 but that's not what it is so it's important to understand that
1:25 while this concept
1:29 does bear a strong resemblance to the blade pro it is in fact not what razer
1:33 wants to know i guess is
1:37 whether there's someone out there anyone
1:40 out there are you out there leave a comment who wants to roll up at the timmy hose
1:46 or if you're american i guess uh duncan duncan donuts would be the
1:50 equivalent roll up at the timmy hose and effectively have your slash r slash
1:55 battle stations rig on the table in front of you
2:00 now my response to that would be
2:03 g razer it's got competition at least in
2:06 its current form from a lot of places the spud pop-up display those usb
2:11 external displays by the time something like this were to make it to market even
2:15 lightweight vr headsets that are very high resolution so you could use a
2:19 virtual desktop or my personal favorite for something that could be done in a
2:22 reasonable time frame like a Thunderbolt add-on for the existing blade that would
2:26 clip on and just have one cable to power a couple external displays you just kind
2:29 of fold it up put in your bag separately that way you don't have to carry it around all the time
2:34 but i think these are the kinds of conversations that they're trying to
2:37 inspire with this product not necessarily bring
2:41 a three by 4k
2:44 exo surround gaming machine to market
2:47 though they were quick to point out that they have a prototype that works a
2:51 little more than this one it only slides like it's got a bit of a different
2:54 mechanism that was running battlefield one at
2:58 i would say thanks to g-sync somewhat acceptable frame rates
3:02 so i think what it comes down to is this i have my skepticism i've presented four
3:06 options at least two to three of which i think might make more sense than this
3:10 one at least in its current form but i want to hear from you guys in the comments
3:14 is razer on the right track for who who
3:18 are you and why do you think they're on the right track are you creative professional are you a gamer
3:22 or are they completely off their gourd and
3:26 this will never fly let me know down below
3:30 thanks for checking out this video guys don't miss any of our ces 2017 coverage
3:35 brought to you by the d brand i don't have my razer blade on
